I am a handicap senior citizen. I was in dire need of two items from the store. On Thursday 06/26/26 I was parked at the front door of the store. I called the store and employe Amos Moore answered the phone. I informed Mr. Moore of the two items I was seeking. I also explained that I was handicap and parked at the front door of the store. Within minutes, he came out, assessed my needs by looking under the hood of my car and at my rear lights. He went back in the store, looked up the items came out with them and told me how much it would be. I gave him the cash and I was short $.11. I started to scrounge around in my console to look for the $.11. When I turned around, I was going to tell him I'll just give him an extra dollar, but he was not standing at my car door. He had gone to his car to retrieve the $.11. for me. Amos Moore went above and beyond the call of duty to assist me. He treated me like a friend or a family member and this means the world to me. He was professional, kind, and caring. Please know that he is a valuable employee and should be treated as such. I followed up with a call to district manager, Vanessa Mason. Ms. Mason took the time to hear about my experience at the Solon Store and expressed how happy she was to hear of the service that Mr. Moore provided. Vanessa Mason's expertise and knowledge as a district manager will ensure continued success to your corporation. I will inform all my friends and family members to drive past an Auto Zone store and find the nearest Advanced Auto Parts store because the service is outstanding. My initial experience with getting my battery change wasn't bad. The associate who did the work was friendly and quick...however, she left her monitor in my car and a socket extender under my hood. This caused the battery to short and stranded my wife and caused her to waste half of her day remedying the situation. When telling them about the situation they pretty much said since the battery was still ok they didn't feel the need to compensate my wife for her troubles. My wife pushed and they finally said they would talk to "corporate"...after two weeks of follow up they gave us a $25 gift certificate and washed their hands of the situation. We honestly were not upset about the mistake , they happen, but the response to my wife getting stranded and wasting her time was less than great. Wow what a good experience. Nick should be designated king of Advance Auto Parts. The only thing they could do better is come to my house and install the part. Had an issue with my battery. Wouldn't hold a charge. Yikes. Brought it in to this store and Nick jumped right in and ran a battery analysis. Yikes. He recommended leaving it overnight to charge. Yikes. Came back the next day and was told it failed the test. Yikes. Nick was able to help me and get it taken care of. Wow. Really nice guy and really nice experience. Quick, easy, and painless. Will definitely be my "go to" auto parts store. read more

Well there are some places in live where it pays to be a women. The auto parts store is one of them. I went in to this store to winterize my car. I picked up window washer fluid, New windshield wipers, and a snow brush. The staff was beyond helpful. I was waited on hand and foot. The staff picked up everything I needed, took it to the register for me, asked me if I needed anything else and big BONUS; they even installed my new windshield wipers for me. I know it's an auto parts store, but I felt like a princess. They were completely attentive to all me needs. I would definitely come back for all my automotive needs. read more

Very bad experience at this store on 11/30/19 with somebody whom I think may be the manager. I returned to the store after being given the wrong replacement battery for my wife's car. This is not an problem - it happens, and I said so. The staff member working there barked at me as soon as I walked in with the return battery: "that's not a receipt" (before I even had a chance to explain why I was there). We found the correct battery. I was then asked for additional money. I politely showed the gentleman my receipt which was for $174 and change, and since I was now returning the core battery for disposal ($22 back), I pointed out that the new battery plus tax means I am to get $2.14 back. I was a gentleman, and remained polite throughout what was a 30 minute episode of enduring patience where I was systematically accused of "purchasing the battery online which causes problems" (the younger man who sold me the battery pointed out I was there two hours earlier and bought in the store). After what was clearly an issue processing my return, I was then told "you have to come back and do this tomorrow". It was now 7 minutes after closing time. I then offered to just take the replacement batter and they can keep the $2.14 that I was owed. Here was the response: "that battery can't leave the store". This left my wife without a working car, and since her car has an automatic transmission, I had to reinstall the dying battery in it to at least get the car into neutral in order to push it to a safe location. I work with the general public and I have managed a store. I get it. Here are two easy solutions that this individual could have done, but was either too lazy to engage or didn't care enough to think of: 1 Ask for help. Advance Auto Parts is a big company and big companies generally care about their public image. Call up your colleague, friend, or supervisor, and ask them to walk you through how to process a return if it's not working. Because this is how you prevent customers from being stranded without their car. Your problem, you fix it. That's a reasonable suggestion. 2. Take the customer's details, release the battery so the customer is not stranded. Then on your time (not the customer's time), you process the receipt, and then settle the difference in the bill. Most people are decent and honest, and it's a battery... This is a reasonable compromise. I could have caused a scene but I didn't. I believe in treating everyone well. I immediately sensed that this transaction was going to be hostile and against resistance by the way I was treated as soon as I entered the store and before I opened my mouth. I can't be the only customer to have experienced this at the Solon location, and I won't be the last. I don't want anyone to lose their job, but I am entitled to an explanation and a sincere apology for the way I was treated. Here is what I did today: I drove to the Twinsburg shop which is 18 mile round trip and they processed the return and gave me the correct battery with the refund in under 4 minutes. It was that easy. BUT, it took three trips and I estimate an additional 2 hours of my time that I don't have much of and this should not have happened. I am interested to see if Advanced Auto cares enough to reach out to me. read more
