I ordered catfish and it was pinkish, mushy and super thin. It was almost the texture of raw fish. When I questioned the waiter he told me they didn't use "real" catfish. When I questioned further I was told they use Swai fish. It was terrible. When I did some research, Swai is a cheap fish and there are even warnings that it questionable as to whether it is safe to eat. They should not be claiming it is catfish and charging the price as if it is. Very deceptive. read more

It was my first time visiting this restaurant I've heard very good reviews about it so I came in tonight and tried it out the clam chowder that I ordered was a little cold the appetizers that we ordered was boudin balls stuffed jalapenos and the pickles we're not that fresh the Crawfish that I ordered was definitely not worth 8.99 a pound almost every single tail that I peeled was mushy and fell apart in pieces trying to pull the tail out . a lot of them didn't even have a tail on the body. it tasted very soggy. And they were definitely not fresh or HOT. it did have just enough spice on it though. I probably will not visit again because it was not all that but I'm glad I tried it. other than the food the server was awesome ALEC answed all our questions in a very professional manner.and kept our drinks refilled. He went above and beyond with his service. I guess it was not good cause we came a hour before closing and they were shutting everything down by the time we came in. read more

This place is amazing, the crab in the appetizers was so good. Not one hint of a fishy/ crabby taste. Ordered the regular and coconut shrimp, the serving was huge. Had to take half of it home. Was perfectly cooked and the shrimp are big. My partner ordered the fish with cream sauce, cannot remember the name of it, it was delicious. Again, no fishy taste. This place is great. I apologize in advance, I was so excited to get my food I failed to get any pictures and because I ordered crab legs , shrimp and crawfish once I started my hands were a mess. I asked for the garlic flavor which had a little kick of spice but were sooo good. I'm a pink when it comes to spice so I never get anything to spicy. They had various options for spice levels so you can choose your flavor. The outside eating area was created since Covid-19 so it wasn't that big. If you like myself prefer outside whenever it's an option get there early in the evening and be prepared to wait. Yes I will go back and be sure to get some pictures. Came in for lunch for the first time. Food wasn't fresh, and it was obvious the majority of food was frozen/from a box and not made in-house. I hadn't been to this resto in years. I went for crawfish, which were just "ok", but I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious snow crab. It was so sweet! I also tried the gumbo and it was pretty good to. Overall, I like this place. I just know for next time, go straight for the snow crab and don't waste my time on the crawfish. read more

We went to this place for a Father's Day dinner. The place was crowded but we had the option to sit outside, which we did and were glad of it--somewhat less noisy, even with the rain on the roof, and the restaurant actually seemed pretty cold inside. It was kind of an up and down meal. The best item I had was the boudin balls--they had a nice crisp batter and flavorful (not too spicy) filling. Would definitely get more of those. We also had onion rings and fried pickles for appetizers, and they were very good--very little added salt on the pickles so the pickle flavor came through. On the low end, my blackened mahi-mahi was not too good--a bland, kind of off sauce on somewhat rubbery fish. Didn't finish it. Many others in our party had entrees they were happy with--the catfish had a crispy, salty breading, the shrimp were fresh and ate well, and our one non-seafood eater was happy with her burger, even though it's a prefab patty. For sides, the green beans were very tasty and well-cooked, perhaps just a little oily but yummy. Cole slaw was not much--barely any flavor other than cabbage. We had a banana pudding and a sundae for dessert. The pudding was quite good, it is very apparently homemade and has great banana flavor--no hint of artificial flavor. The sundae was a big hit, brownie on top and on the bottom. Service was very good, we had a friendly and relaxed waiter who made many trips to our table. The bathroom was not too clean, but not bad for a very busy evening. Overall it was fine, but there are better seafood places if you go farther afield. read more

Usually this is our go to place for Crawfish. I called ahead to check the size and was told they were medium. When I got home with my order the crawfish were 95% small and mushy. I also ordered banana pudding for dessert. They gave me bread pudding instead and it was completely stale. Needless to say we were disappointed with our food. This was an interesting evening. My family and I are in town for my sister's wedding. We flew in from San Diego yesterday. My brother suggested this restaurant as a great Cajun-y seafood place. On our way over, we received a call from CA that my husband's family home burned to the ground in the horrible fires that consumed many areas outside of Los Angeles. It was devastating news. Not because of the loss of the house itself, but because my husband grew up in that house, where his mother died when he was just 12, and that house held priceless photo albums she made for him when planning for her early death due to ovarian cancer. We always meant to go pick them up. We talked about how we needed to get them. We thought we had time. So, upon hearing this news as we are entering the restaurant, we were all crying. Quite a site I'm sure. I proceeded to apologize to our server and explained why we were so emotional. We decided to try and enjoy our dinner, nothing to be done back home, it was burned to the ground. We ordered drinks, apps, salad, and three entrees. (Jambalaya, blackened redfish, chicken fried steak). The drinks were excellent. The food was very good. My blackened redfish was a little over cooked, which was my only complaint. I wouldn't even have mentioned it, but a manager (?) dropped by the table to clear plates and asked how dinner was. I was honest. She was very pleasant and said she would let the chef know to shorten the cooking time. All was good. We waited for the bill. Our server stopped by and said "You're all good. It's been taken care of. You've had enough to worry about tonight." I broke down in tears again. My husband tried to hold it together. This simple act of incredible kindness was totally unexpected and gave me so much hope and deep gratitude for the people who did this for us. Thank you for taking such great care of us during this shocking moment in our lives. I am deeply grateful!! read more

We had a large group of 16 people on Good Friday. They don't usually do reservations but they were very nice in accommodating us with a little heads up notice. Lexy was our waitress. She was excellent and make sure we have everything we needed and very attentive. We had a lot of appetizers. Boudin balls sweet potato fries, oysters, fried pickles. All very good. Mainly we came to eat crawfish. Crawfish were definitely on the large side. Several jumbos mixed in with large and a few mediums. Seasoning was just right was just right. I was extra impressed with how well they were cooked because if you like to eat the claws you know how hard they can be to get out if they're not cooked right. All of the claws pulled out easy. I just tried this restaurant after driving past it multiples times and I also had friends mention how great the seafood was here. I am extremely picky when it comes to seafood and this place hit the spot. My server was Lexi and she was so friendly and was great at explaining the menu. I was looking for a decent beer battered fish fry. Since I love the fried shrimp I thought I would give the fish a try. They had a special for a beer battered cod. The fish was good, and the batter was light, but the batter could have used a bit more zip taste-wise and of a crisper fashion. The coleslaw was fresh and light; the fries were crisp. The best part of my experience today was when I called prior to my arrival and gained much needed info from Lauren. The crab was done two ways king crab clusters and a blue crab. As a little side dish this is served with boiled mushrooms. Oysters were fresh and tasty and were served on a tray of ice. I see they have a three star rating but we dine here every crawfish season and they offer some of the best for $6.99lb. We have tried the boiled shrimp and its not our favorite but the stuffed avocado is worth it. This is our third year to try Bluewater during crawfish season but it won't be our last. read more
