I had initially been to Bluestone Lane when the Hoboken location had first opened. I had found their white walls and bright, sunny atmosphere to be really uplifting. I had also been glad to see that they had a reasonable amount of seating; Hoboken has no shortage of coffeeshops, but few of them have comfortable seating options. At that first visit, I had ordered a Golden Latte, which I had enjoyed, but found very overpriced for a small takeout cup. So, I had not rushed back there for a while. However, I recently met a friend for coffee and found my giant, dine-in mug of cappuccino with almond milk reasonable at its ~$6.50 cost. My drink was creamy, rich, and delicious. I was also thrilled that we were able to get a table on a Saturday afternoon, though we both found the service inconsistent, as it went from overbearing to avoidant. However, it was still friendly and not something that would prevent me from returning. Overall, Bluestone Lane's cozy cafe atmosphere and tasty beverages made it a great place to grab a brew. We had a delightful late afternoon lunch here on a recent weekday, and left feeling happy and healthy. On entering, we found ourselves in bright and airy spot that felt both modern and inviting. The service was friendly to match. I ordered two sides, scrambled eggs and roasted carrots, while my husband ordered the green goddess bowl. We enjoyed everything, but the green goddess bowl was the clear highlight. Its multiple components combined with each other perfectly, and everything was very fresh. My eggs were good, and the carrots were delicious. My only nitpick was that I would have liked the carrots roasted a little longer to get more caramelized and tender. It's definitely a nice space to sit and enjoy a coffee. That said, the food itself was underwhelming. The cutest, quaintest little (but actually not so little, I KNOW) coffee & food spot. I've had take out from here a while ago and was quickly a fan, but this was my first time eating in. After getting caught in Hoboken rain and needing to kill some time, I stopped in for lunch on my own and now I can't wait to come back. The waiters were wonderful, the coffee was hot and the food was incredible. I got a cup of hot black coffee which came in a little carafe so I could just keep refilling my own cup. I got the small and didn't even finish half. And for lunch I got the lemon chicken bowl. Sooooo this had to be one of my favorite meals in awhile. It was butter soft chicken on top of farrow, roasted carrots & other veggies, feta and a very tasty dressing. I took about half home but finished it that same day. I hung out for awhile, partly just relaxing and scrolling on my phone and partly praying the rain would stop for just a bit. But it was a great little break. Been here once for coffee and once for brunch, and we had good experiences both of times! Food was delicious, although a tiny bit bland. Athlete's Wrap was good and would eat it with the hot sauce. What a lovely day for brunch and we're glad we checked out Bluestone Lane in Hoboken. We arrived at around 11:45am on a sunday and I was a little surprised we were seated right away. I actually expected some wait but I guess we were lucky. Anyway, ordering was also convenient coz you scan the QR code, select your order online and pay as you order as well. Then the staff just brings your food out to you. We got the chimichurri eggs and it was delicious! I highly recommend this one. Egg had nice flavor and the sauce complimented it very well. It comes with cripsy bacon and toast so quite filling too. I also tried their Banana Bread with ricotta and fresh fruits. Okay it may be on the sweeter side considering it was the first meal for the day for me but hey it was still good. Lol riccotta with that maple syrup was yum! The Avocado smash was a good-sized multi grain toast with Avocado, feta cheese, and cherry tomatoes. We added spicy vegan plant chicken to it, which was nicely seasoned and chewy. Firstly, I don't understand a place where, upon ordering via a personal device, the tip must help included before the meal is even served, but I gave a 20% tip anyway, which then seemed more like backsheesh. The first item to arrive was a cold, hard chocolate croissant. It certainly wasn't a "freshly baked" item as described on the menu. I asked the man who served it to me if it was supposed to be warm, and he said, "No, it came from the pastry case, not the kitchen." I took a few bites, pulled out the unmelted chocolate, and waited for my Green Eggs skillet. And I waited... I played with the croissant and decided to do a photo shoot. About 30 minutes later, as I saw other patrons getting their hot meals, I finally inquired as to where my dish was. Ten minutes later I got it, and it was delicious! The hard, chewy piece of whole grain sliced bread accompanying it wasn't worth risking dental work, however, so I just had the green eggs. That I did enjoy. Fried eggs with spinach, mushrooms and chimichurri. As I readied to go, a floor man (not sure what to call the employees as they only delivered food), swung by and quickly asked, "How's everything? Bluestone Lane has become almost as ubiquitous as Starbucks. Their coffees, dishes, & streamlined decor sure are pretty. The Avocado Smash is a slice of multigrain toast topped with equal parts heirloom tomatoes, feta, & avo. The bread is tasty but I wish it were softer & fluffier instead stead of overly toasted. On one occasion, I ordered red baked eggs (similar to shakshouka) but the waitress erroneously brought out green baked eggs & the wait to fix my order was interminable. My experiences with their food and service haven't been satisfactory, & their tables are way too close together for my liking (pre- and especially during Covid times.) read more

That's a sad thing to realize. My burrito was missing feta and all around happiness. The bacon tasted like a no-frills bacon and was undercooked and unexciting. How does bacon become such a displeasure to someone? Bacon is supposed to give someone that "joy" when eating it. Not a feeling of depression. I basically felt like I was eating some eggs in a flour tortilla. Mine also lacked enough avocado to even feel like it existed within my burrito. We were told that they only had two cooks working in the kitchen. This doesn't excuse the lack of flavor, the size of the burrito, and the missing items in the burrito. For the price you pay for these burritos, it's not even worth the trip to Bluestone Lane. I did complain to the manager and was given the two meals for free. But the waste of our time and sadness doesn't compare to the free food we received, because of their incompetency as a restaurant. The server was very polite and helpful and we appreciated his help in overcoming this disaster of a lunch. I would defiantly avoid this place if you're looking for flavor in your food. The decor and decorative plant inside is beautiful. Clean and cozy. We have to scan QR code, order and pay from our phone. Coffee is not bad. I've ordered delivery from them twice recently and both times it was delivered on-time or early with my correct order. The BL Big Brekkie is the perfect breakfast plate.
