Unfortunately that's where it ends. Service is a 1-star. There seemed to be a language disconnect with the server. An overall near-zero experience. Our server was attentive to other tables seated after us who received their desserts before our entrees. Not one table check-in before, during or after the meal. Had to actually get up out of the seat to make sure the drink order was understood and it was right because the server did not seem to understand. Maybe that put the server off. We also flagged down other servers for assistance during the meal and even for ordering dessert. It took a long time to take payment for our bill. We almost got up to pay at the bar. Thus the crap shoot gamble at La Sponda. Atmosphere a 2.5 star. Loud atmosphere with a heavy metal music rotation. Good music, just not for this dinner atmosphere. Overall a 2.5-star on the strength of the food. We will not be back. Spending the money I did, even though the food is good at La Sponda, I don't want to risk a bad service experience again there. Not worth it for us but might not matter for others. Nevertheless - Caveat Emptor.

My dining companion and I lunched here recently and were most impressed. The menu - divided into Antipasto, Salads, Paninis, Pasta, Dessert, and Sides - provided just enough interesting choices to arouse the appetite without befuddling the brain. Since my dining partner loves bread in any way, shape or form, it was no surprise that she went straight for the Mozzarella Stuffed Focaccia garnished with olive oil and fresh herbs. For my part, since I thoroughly enjoy pasta in whatever manifestation it may be presented, the Baked Orecchiette (pictured) pressed all the right buttons. The "little ears" were beguilingly blended with nuggets of pork belly; spatters of spinach, tomato, ricotta, provolone, and mozzarella; and finished with a sprinkling of breadcrumbs. The pasta itself was perfectly al dente, the seasonings superb. A rather straightforward dish, but also quite profound in its simplicity... And utterly delicious. I would hasten to add that, although we did not partake, both the Godfather Burger (smash burger, mortadella, provolone, Calabrian chili aioli, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle on brioche) and the Salmon BLT Burger sounded mighty tempting... Ditto the Grilled Eggplant Panini and Primavera Bucatini (sautéed vegetables, tomato herb broth, house-made bucatini, fresh parmesan). Should you be planning to stop in for lunch, they are certainly worthy of your consideration. In the meantime, my dining companion and I were confronted with a little gastronomic conundrum of our own: choosing dessert(s). The possibilities included a number of the usual suspects - Tiramisu, Cheesecake, Blood Orange Panna Cotta - as well as a tempting Chocolate Crostata (toasted hazelnut tart with salted caramel & chocolate ganache)... Decisions. Decisions... We finally decided to take the down-home route, sharing a Butterscotch Bundt Cake crowned with vanilla gelato. Which, I am happy to add, was a most satisfying conclusion to our afternoon at table. We'll be back for dinner... At which time I will post a complete second review of our dining experience.

I like the hummus as a side and it comes with a delicious piece of bread, that smells amazing if you pop it in the oven for a few minutes. They also have an option to sub the rice for veggies in the platters. I enjoy dining in because the service and ambiance are nice. It is also convenient for take out. My only gripe is that they use styrofoam takeout containers so the hot food does burn into the containers, which releases toxic chemicals. Definitely worth a stop for food! Located in a plaza with plenty of parking.

Bread is fresh and warm when you open the bag, but it degrades quickly.

We've been to Bluefin Eagleview twice since their opening. Both times, we were only able to sample their limited menu; however, even their limited selection was out of this world. Their sashimi and sushi are the freshest I've ever tasted. None of that questionable aftertaste that makes you wonder where the fish is from and when. One person of our party is not particularly fond of sushi, but even she raved about the quality of the sashimi. For non-sushi lovers, the Beef Avo Maki and Chilean Sea Bass are superb choices with generous portions. The staff is great and knowledgeable. The GM was very attentive to us, as he was to all other guests. You can tell that they're working hard to satisfy the guests. The atmosphere is modern/contemporary without seeming cold - a bit casual compared to B2 (Bluefin in Bala Cynwyd - also great!), but I believe that this makes the sushi dining experience more approachable than most and family friendly. As for price, it's very reasonable for the quality of food and service. Looking to return this weekend to try their full menu! read more

Not sure why some people are down on this place. We were there last Friday and everything was amazing. The menu presented us with a bit of sticker shock at first, but as it was a special occasion, we rolled with it (and after tasting the dumplings and the special Tuna plate quickly decided it was worth the splurge). Service was relatively fast (given that everything is made to order) and very friendly. We were fortunate enough to be seated right in front of the master sushi chef and could watch him work and ask occasional questions, which was an added bonus. As it was my wife's birthday, he would occasionally slide over a sample of something and say "Happy birthday" before telling us what he had prepared. I also tried the Sushi Omakase (Chef's choice - all amazing). Given how good everything was, next time I wouldn't hesitate to try the Chef Omakase tasting menu. read more

Excellent tasting sushi tonight!!! Our server, Rebecca, was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu. The timing for the food being delivered was perfect - we started with miso soup and seaweed salad. Both were very tasty and delivered right after we ordered. Next the platter of many types of sushi with two special rolls was presented in a tasty manner with each piece of sushi easy to grab. Each piece of sushi had so much flavor and appeal. Loved each piece!! We have traveled to many states and countries and tried many restaurants finding a small amount of places serving delicious tasty sushi. I've waited to comment until after I have been here a couple of times...As a sushi enthusiast I can say with certainty that this place has some of the freshest sushi around...the menu offers a lot of a la carte sushi/sashimi options (OToro, Chu Toro and Akami as well) and some delicious regular and "special rolls"...It's BYOB and the atmosphere is kind of an upscale-causal... The wait staff is friendly and attentive, the management is engaging and the Sushi Chefs are on point...detailed oriented and precise while still serving rolls quicker than you've probably become accustomed to at other restaurants...If you are in and/or around the area you should definitely give them a shot...Cheers! read more

I went to Blue Finn Eagleview last week and I had a great lunch. I usually do not eat a lot of Sushi so I decided on the Bento Box #3. The beef avo maki with avocado was delicious. It also had vegetable rolls, and shrimp dumplings. We started with edamame and rock shrimp sundae which was fabulous. Toward the end of my meal I tried eel, I enjoyed it. I had the Ribeye Bao Buns, a nice fresh salad with Ginger dressing and the Chef's special Ribeye Ramen. All really delicious. But if you actually know Asian cuisine, it will be a salty, peanut butter approach that will only disappoint.For example, their orange beef, is the exact same sauce as their general Tso 's chicken with orange peels thrown in. Their sweet and sour chicken is a deep fried disaster. Every single dish with a brown sauce...is the exact same brown sauce. There is ZERO nuance in their dishes. We ordered a General Tso's chicken tonight that was SO SALTY, we literally threw it in the garbage and made sandwiches. It's astounding that with so many Asian restaurants in the area, they all seem to think we're ignorant of what Asian food actually should taste like. And I guess, shame on us for accepting this travesty.

No excessive moisture, things remain their appropriate texture. Everything was bagged up very well. You're greeted by the restaurant staff immediately by pretty kind people. The spicy tuna roll was standard and pretty good. The soft shell crab had an interesting taste that was semi-fishy. The breading was good but the crab left a lot to desire. The rock shrimp was nice and crispy and the spicy aioli dipping sauce paired well with it. The hamachi jaw was cooked well but lacked a lot of flavor. The yuzu / ponzu sauce helped provide extra flavor. Overall I surprisingly think the regular sushi (nigiri, rolls, and sashimi) is your best bet here for takeout at least for shorter trips. Their other cooked dishes were lacking in flavor even if they seemed to carry out well.

This place is no longer my go-to sushi restaurant in the area after far too many disappointing…read moremeals. Hard, unripe avocado seems to be their normal. I order from O sushi now.
