Hours and hours of delays, meant we needed something more substantial to eat. Just past 8pm, we took a stroll back to the airport "food court", only to find all dining options were closed!! The Blue zone was our only option. They had an extremely limited menu of 4 sandwiches and 4 starters. All items were reheated in a microwave before serving, it was an extremely disappointing "meal" to wrap up our summer trip. The bread was stale, the food lacked any real flavor, other than the bacon. Only option for sides with sandwich's were generic plain potato chips Other than asking what we wanted to eat at the counter, the employee never said another word, not a very friendly, or welcoming experience. Very friendly counter service that was fast and efficient. The process starts with a self service order kiosk and my order was ready in minutes. There is a nice seating area that provides great people watching at the airport. I ordered the beef on a wick which was very fresh with a large amount of beef and side of kettle chips . There is a separate bar area to get alcoholic drinks as well. A nice spot to grab a quick meal inside the terminal. read more

Service was great but the beef on weck was a wreck. Complete waste of money. Inedible. The bun, which should be a sturdy roll, was so dry and brittle that the top bun split and crumbled into dust and the bottom bun dried out the beef and turned into a mud pudding. The salt and kimmelweck seeds fell off the moment you touched it. I'm going to try to get my money back. The waitress is so good she said she'll make me a better sandwich, a BLT. She surprised us with creative hand-crafted cocktails, recommended the most delicious pesto flatbread, and touched our hearts with her books of sincere comments and stories from fellow travelers who have visited her at the bar. We got the chicken tenders and for a restaurant in Buffalo this place is a disgrace! No blue cheese and the chicken was not fingers they were large chicken nuggets. The quality of which was disgusting. To say we paid $16 for this trash is offensive. The staff took a while to address us then tried to charge me for a water I bought somewhere else. Amidst all of the surprises and awe from my ignorant pre-conception of Buffalo International Airport, it was Blue Zone that brought me back to reality. Blue Zone is everything an airport bar / deli is made of - limited beer / food selection, overpriced all the way, with a staff that would rather be anywhere but there. Coming here was all desperation and little desire on my part, as I normally like to bring my food from home / outside the airport, I instead succumbed to the hunger just before my flight. I ordered a Stella on tap at the airport bar that for some reason cost a meager $9.50 in a mug that didn't even seem that full. My meal consisted of a turkey panini, which was just slapped together and was mediocre at best. For $9.00, I don't know if I could've gotten a better deal (#1). The very small bright side for all of this is they have a couple of flat screen TVs showing sports. Two stars may seem generous but really this place helped pass time since our flight was delayed by 2+ hours. The bar remains open if the last flight departing is delayed. The kitchen was closed so I cannot comment on the hot food. They have a section of pre-packaged snacks and sandwiches which were mostly bread. Not good. I'm currently trapped in Buffalo Airport. Blue Zone was going to be my home away from Useless Airways gate, but its too quiet here and theres no George Clooney 'Up In The Air' types to state at. I have my cold Blue Light, thats Labatt's for the non Canucks and my Yelp app. There is three more hours to go on this delay. I would be spending all three hours here but Blue Zone has horrible food options. Currently, the fryer is broken so no cheese sticks. If you want a beer, this works. For delays that may qualify for more than a beer or two, I think you should head to the other end of the airport. I love you Buffalo, but not that much. read more

If you're flying US Air, you're at the empty end of the terminal with this boring place. Lots of bad reviews about the MTO food. I'm not sure why you would get food here? It's a bar and only a bar. It offers better seating than at the gate while you're waiting for your (always delayed) US Air flight. read more

It does open fairly early so if you need coffee and aren't a coffee snob you will do ok here. They have some pretty incredible muffins - and a decent assortment. Do not eat here unless you are dying of starvation and needing something bad as your last meal. I was waiting for my flight, gate 4, and asked for a menu. The bartender told me she couldn't find one and pointed to the menu on a tv screen behind the bar. I told her I didn't have my glasses and couldn't see that far. She laughed. Ummmm that wasn't a joke. She read me the menu and I picked the loaded nachos. I asked if they had chicken. She said I had a choice of chicken or beef. I asked for chicken. Five minuted later. My Order came out......fake runny cheese, chili, sour cream and jalapeños. Where is the chicken!?!?! I asked the bartender why there was no chicken. She said "the nachos don't come with chicken." Wtf?!? I'm so confused. Why did you tell me my options were chicken or beef??? I took two bites and gave up. The fake cheese doesn't work for me and I knew I'd get a stomach ache. The last thing you want to do is eat a bad meal and get on a plane. That was a waste of $10. I definitely would not recommend this place. Go to one of the other gates and get real food! The staff (bartender included) are clueless and look like they would rather not be doing this work. This place is depressing.
