    Nashville hot fish sandwish

We've had food from Carrubba's a couple of times but both were from their food truck. We sampled their Nashville hot chicken slider and their Nashville hot fish slider. Both were very messy and definitely not low-cal! Each comes with a mayo based aioli with the chicken oil and have a mayo based coleslaw on them. The pickles help to add the needed acid to cut through the oil and heavy flavor. They are very tasty and definitely on the spicy side - which I love. I do plan on trying a few more items at their brick and mortar location but I may ask for coleslaw on the side so I have a bit more control over the calories and messiness of eating it. I am a professional at dropping stuff on my clothes while eating and these sandwiches helped me maintain my status! Haha

This bbq joint was cool my mom and I stopped in for dinner, first off you definitely get your moneys worth without a doubt plenty of food. The chicken was juicy with rite amount of char and was seasoned well not using chevettis, the coleslaw was sweet reminded me kind of KFC, and I received plenty of potato spuds soaked in butter my only complaint would be that i don't like smoked ribs from anywhere it's either charcoal or nothing but other than that I'd say 7/10 definitely worth a try and they should think about coming up with a few of their own bbq sauces instead of using Sysco brand out of the jug. Check em out!

First time visiting, the food was amazing! You order at a walk up counter and they bring the food out. The seated area was very cold , I had to keep my jacket on. If it was warm this would be a 5 star review! The chicken / pulled pork was delicious. The chicken fingers were gigantic! They offer take out and a drive thru which is nice! We will be back!

The chicken here is soooo good, I went to chiavettas today just to compare and carrubbas won hands down. The only thing is I wish they cooked their potato's a little longer. Or maybe even offered more sides. Best chicken bbq in buffalo hands down!

Well, this is the FIRST TIME I've ever had Carrubba's Chicken. This was its first day opening in a brand new store on George Urban blvd in Depew . What a great place! It has a very nice sit in dining room. The gal at the register was extremely helpful. The menu had quite the variety of foods. I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich and it was delicious- more than delicious, it was fabulous! I also ordered the French fries with nacho cheese and bacon ( and minus the jalapeños ) . While I was so excited about these fries, I was taken back a bit with the nacho cheese because I was unaware of it being their famous "spicy nacho cheese." Again, I had never had Carrubbas before Unfortunately I cannot tolerate spicy, hence minus the jalapeños. So it was unfortunate that I had to trash the $11. order of fries. If you're a spicy lover, this place is for you. If you're not, stay away from the nacho cheese. It's really spicy.

Been back to WNY for a week and by far the best meal I have had in a long time. The fish fry was so good it tasted like it came out of the water this morning.... Ribs are to die for. Use plenty of napkins ! It had bark on it that was so delicious I couldn't stop eating it. The Nashville chicken sandwich was better than any chicken sandwich I ever had in Nashville TN. Truly a gem in WNY. To top it off the staff made my wife and I feel like royalty..... Bravo !!!

This chicken joint is staffed by career firefighters, as per their Facebook page. I first discovered them from purchasing a chicken barbecue dinner from Bellevue Fire Company in Cheektowaga. I saw the posts on social media and I can never turn down a chicken barbecue, especially a drive thru one. For $12 I received the standard chicken barbecue roll, butter, garlic butter, potatoes, cole slaw, and of course the main attraction, the chicken. The garlic butter I put on both my roll and all over those potatoes. It was scrumptious. The cole slaw was very good. I really enjoyed the flavors happening. The chicken was delicious. I liked the spices and it was moist, tender, and a chicken I can get behind. Wherever they are doing a fundraiser next, check them out. You won't be sorry, and it might become your new Buffalo standby.

Pick up, drive through fast service. Very convenient! Chicken was cooked with good seasoning and a nice char. Tasty sides, included garlic butter, and a dinner roll. Everything was satisfying and well portioned. Just wished this place was open more than 2 days a week.

No sir, umbrellas abounded, as folks meandered from truck to truck, sniffing the air for answers to what's cookin', tempting them to certain trucks. It rather smelled like the fair, in a GOOD way, food scents wafting by, mingling with each other as giddy people paid no attention to each other or even their cell phones in an effort to decide which truck to order from. BBQ? Vietnamese? Sweets? Mexican??!! Greek? Oh boy, what fragrant air filled the Eastern Hills Mall parking lot on Transit Road this day. What a concept! If only the trucks lined up like this, like a train, one after the other, once a month instead of annually. Boy, it was our lucky day! We just happened to stumble upon the line up. I knew I must try the Black Market Food Truck, for they served the most awesome food at the Yelp Elite International Institute event recently and I knew I'd find my way to them once again. Today I tried the corn and black bean hummus, and it was delectable with a bite, and beautifully presented, and from a TRUCK! Little slanted slices of crispy dipping bread was alongside the cupful of hummus. Mister ditched the umbrella and hoofed it quickly to Lloyd's and oh my, was that burrito nummy! He ordered the one with braised beef and it was so flavorful, just like home cooked beef, and I seldom eat beef. Rolled in a 12" tortilla, with rice, black beans, a jack/cheddar cheese blend, finely shredded cabbage, chimichurri, and salsa roja it was perfectly spicy and delicious, a plentiful portion of goodness. And for $6.50? Hands down the best burrito I've tasted. We splurged on a Mexican Coca-Cola, super yum taste from childhood, before "corn syrup" took over the real sugar ingredient around these parts. In this inclement weather, not one server had a scowl, all were cheerful and happily serving it up from high upon their truck-turned-order-window. Kudos to all who work the food trucks, may you prosper with such ingenuity and hard work. As in many of my posts, give these non-chain folks the business, they have way more at stake than a fast food joint. Reward them with your patronage! Follow them on their websites and spread the word; give your fellow residents, friends and neighbors the chance to thrive. And Eastern Hills Mall, hellooooo, you folks have done so much for the community since new management took over. How about bringing in the trucks on certain Saturdays, monthly, at least? Pretty please?!

So as not to overestimate, when calculating Maths, I usually think it's better to "Round Down", but…read morethis food truck festival believes otherwise. I'm sure they'd love me to "Round Up" to a 4, but I can't. Larkin Square has the same issues (massively overpriced with really low standards), but their selection is magnificent (40 to 50 per Tuesday), and they have the influx of Rochester trucks to improve the quality - the Buffalo ones are awful for the most part. I must have spent a good $50 just trying to sample 6 or 7 of these food trucks, which I think is preposterous. Almost everything I ate was average or just really, really bad. The Black Market Food Truck was one enjoyable exception. I wrote reviews of most of these trucks, and then was sent abuse by the owner of my least fave of the trucks I tried - Roaming Buffalo. Plus it was outside and we all got soaking wet as well as ripped off. Despite all the negativity I associate with this event, it's still a bunch of locals trying to get by, and it's still a food truck rodeo in a town that didn't have food trucks for a long time. So I'll give it a 3. But the standard needs to go way up and the prices need to go down, in order for me to ever give food trucks my repeated business in this city.

I remembered seeing them on the local news stations and had read they make their own ice cream, so I had to grab a couple scoops to try them out. What a delicious way to round out the day! I walked into around 8:30pm on a Wednesday to a bright and trendy interior with several tables and chairs, as well as a table that ran along the windows with stools to sit at. And if there wasn't a spot inside, there were tables and chairs outside in front of the shop as well. There was a line that wrapped near the entrance but it moved surprisingly quickly since there were only two young women scooping and cashing customers out. I had enough time to look over their flavors and narrow down the two that I wanted. The young woman who prepared my order was friendly and pleasant and did an excellent job scooping - My scoops were plenty big; they did not skimp on portions. What did I order? I went with a medium (two scoops) with the bottom scoop flavor being their Cookies & Cream and the top scoop flavor being their Salted Caramel Crunch (homemade crunch pieces folded into their signature salted caramel base), in a waffle cone. The ice cream lived up to the hype! It was so creamy and jam-packed with Oreo cookie pieces and crunchy caramel pieces. Both flavors were excellent, but if I had to pick one that I liked more, I'd say Cookies & Cream. The ice cream itself was like a cookies & cream base with HUGE Oreo cookie pieces rolled into it, the flavor was crazy good! The waffle cone tasted fresh and held both scoops with ease, worth the slight upcharge. For the high-quality ingredients, homemade flavors, and generous portion size, I felt the price I paid was reasonable. Big Papa's Creamery was an excellent experience! Pleasant staff, a happy & bright shop, and amazing homemade ice cream, I couldn't ask for more. I'm already thinking about what flavor I want to try next with my scoop of Cookies & Cream when I stroll through downtown Lancaster again.
