Holy crap! First time eating at BW's BBQ (5007 Lake Ave), and it was DELICIOUS! We started with French onion crocks, which were a little sweeter than most--in a good way--and potato skins. The cornbread muffins were complimentary, soft, sweet, and honestly the best I've ever had! For dinner, I had the pulled pork sandwich with fries. The fries reminded us of Peg's Place--we love and miss them! The pulled pork was awesome, especially with the Honey BBQ sauce. The other dinner was for sharing: a platter with 4 meats and 2 sides. We chose 2 orders of ribs, brisket, and Kansas City Beef Tips, with garlic mashed potatoes for the sides. Everything was delicious, BUT the beef tips were definitely our favorite. So tender and juicy, and the flavor of the KC sauce was PHENOMENAL!!! All of the staff were super friendly and very attentive. VERY happy with everything, and we can't wait to go back!!! *Sorry about the dinner pic--we forgot to snap one before digging into the brisket and beef tips! * read more

Came in for lunch today, we both ordered a three meat plate with chicken, tenderloin beef tips, and brisket. I don't know if it was because we were the first people at opening or what the challenge was, but the meats and the beans were cold. When we inquired about the cold meats the waitress indicated that the meats were in the warmer. We advised her that, whatever the case, the food was cold as if they had come from the cooler. She "replaced" the chicken with the same cold piece of chicken. When asked the waitress if she could simply warm the food in the microwave she declined and said there was nothing else they could do since the food was already in the warmer. The meats were clearly not fresh cooked/smoked. The brisket was the fattiest piece we have ever been served, with cold and congealed fat. This is the fourth time eating at BW's this year, and it is by far the worst BBQ I have ever had. And unfortunately the restaurant didn't seem to care. Sad to say, we will not be returning to this restaurant. read more

I enjoyed the chicken bbq lunch which was catered by BW's at work today. The 1/2 chicken was grilled to perfection. The sides were delicious, potatoes, coleslaw, beans and a roll. The beans were the favorite. We try to go to the brick and mortar a few times a year, the food is always good and so is the service. Today I ate in the lunchroom at work, but when I get a chance I like to enjoy the clean comfortable surroundings at the restaurant. read more

Good BBQ and liked the assortment of sauces available at the table. Very friendly and attentive staff. Clean resturant and restrooms

Nice little place to eat, restaurant was very clean inside and the staff was very friendly. My husband ordered the three meat combo with tenderloin tips, pulled pork, and 1/4 chicken. His sides were baked beans, and potato salad. I ordered 1/2 chicken dinner with macaroni salad and macaroni and cheese. Everything was delicious, the chicken was so good, the marinade they cook it in is delicious. The Mac and cheese was creamy with white cheddar, macaroni salad was great too. The table of barbecue sauces is perfect! So much good stuff to try but the honey bbq was the bomb. So glad we stopped in today! read more

We just picked up delivery from BW's this past weekend. I had the half chicken dinner, my wife had the quarter chicken and my daughter had the chicken and ribs dinner. Everything was delicious... Mac and cheese side and the macaroni salad side were tasty... the Mac and cheese was my favorite. We had to wait about five minutes for them to gather up our order after ordering online.... But it was worth the wait. People working the pickup counter were professional and friendly. I would recommend BWs when you are feeling BBQ! read more

We did take out the other day and it was pretty good. The potato salad is way too much mayo and not very tasty at all. The coleslaw was okay. Best part was the chicken and the ribs of course. Pickup service was quick. Can't speak to the ambiance since we just took it and ran. I would come back but would def try 2 different sides. read more

Some good BBQ, not great but good. The service was great, our server was so pleasant and attentive. We started the meal with a combo plate app, included chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, pizza logs and potatoes skins. The app platter was good. They definitely make inhouse ranch that was delicious, but the marinara sauce not so much.We got the tenders BBQ. The were so good. Cooked well fried nicely and moist on the inside. The tables had sauces out, my favorite was the harberno honey. We ordered the brisket sandwhich with mashers and gravy, as well as the 28 special sandwhich which was smoked beef tenderloin with Monterey jack cheese, onion straws and a creamy chili dressing. I would of loved more chili dressing but the sandwhich was very good. The beef tenderloin melted in your mouth. The grilled chicken salad was a little disappointing. Was a plate of lettuce with a few pieces of chicken. With my sandwhich I ordered a side of Mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was not bad..creamy with some flavor. The brisket melted in your mouth, but without sauce was lacking flavor. Not a big put sauce on my BBQ girl, I like the meat to sing. The meat did not pop, but once sauce was added was very tasty. read more

I was genuinely excited to try BW. Hands down the worst bbq experience I've ever had. Got sliced brisket, half of it was pure fat and got one true slice of brisket. The rest was chopped up trash. I kept most of it hoping my dogs will eat it, but it's doubtful. Mott's apple sauce and jiffy cornbread. I've had bbq all over wny and all over the country and this was disappointing. read more

Underwhelming and super expensive. Yankee is the place to go for BBQ, save the frustration and skip this place. Complete waste of $100. Small portions and lack of flavor on the ribs, briskets texture was off and we threw it out. read more

Our monthly lunch bunch really wanted to try this place, but were concerned that I wouldn't find something pescatarian-appropriate. No worries. If worse comes to worst, I can always manipulate a sandwich or salad to eliminate the meat. But BW's menu was a pleasant surprise, with a veggie burger, shrimp dishes, and the option of ordering their Portobello Porker sandwich without the pork. I do love me a portobello sandwich, but this one was next level. Whoever invented barbecue bleu cheese - thank you! I love barbecue sauce, I love bleu cheese, but putting them together? OMG. The variety of sides is extensive, with some unusual selections on the list, like broccoli salad and mashed sweet potatoes. I opted for potato salad, and was glad I did. Skin-on potatoes, which I prefer, and it tasted like there was some sour cream involved. Delicious. Prices are reasonable, and service is great. Our server Gina had a lot of customers, and was really hustling, but managed to stay on top of everything while being super nice. Several of us were able to take advantage of the lunch special: 10% off entrees and sandwiches between 11:30 and 2. And the dessert eater of the group couldn't resist the peanut butter pie, which produced a whole lot of "MMM"s. Everybody was happy with their food, and we all agreed to add BW's to our list of preferred lunch spots. read more

Had a good meal a few weeks ago but last night we got a Togo order that was terrible. We ordered a full rack dinner along with beef brisket piece. the brisket was very tender because it was 50% straight up fat! Our experience with the ribs were not much better. I realize with bbq there is a lot of fat involved but the amount with both the ribs and brisket was way too much! My wife loves fatty meats but this was over the top even for her. Maybe off night! read more

BW's Smokin' Barrels bar-b-que is a wonderful place for barbecue. Food comes out quickly, and hot. It's been awhile since we've been there, so there's some new items on the menu, so we tried new things. My dining partner had the smoked brisket sandwich. No he didn't share, it was that good. I tried the 1/4 ribs, with smoked baked beans and coleslaw, I didn't share either, it was that good. They will be closed this weekend for taste of Buffalo, so you can check them out there... you won't be disappointed. Service was slow but we weren't in a hurry. read more

Have not been here since I moved back over two years ago, so I was stoked, it's been over a decade since I've eaten here. The service is impeccable. Everyone was so incredible friendly. Service was on point and fast. I cannot get over how inexpensive their cocktails are so I was prepared for something mediocre, but to be honest, they were pretty crafty and delicious. $6 for something most restaurants will charge over $10?! read more

Ordered the brisket eh super bland it was partially edible with salt and bbq sauce but.... Couldn't finish it and good brisket doesn't stand a chance around me for 5 minutes. The baked beans another typical favorite of mine tasted like someone dropped the entire bottle of black pepper in it and just said oh well $&@) happens. I will NOT be back read more

I took my mother shopping and while in the area we decided to stop in for an early dinner. We were looking forward to a new experience for a BBQ place and based on the reviews thought this would be a great time. Apparently since COVID some places have opted to either pre cook food or are saving leftovers. Our experience was the food when it arrived at the table was luke warm and had a taste of being reheated. The french fries were a bit greasy and soggy. I had the pulled pork sandwich....because how else do you put a BBQ place to the test without a great serving of pulled pork or ribs. My mother settled for a burger, which she said was a bit tough ... I understand it will be a bit before things get back to normal ..but I hate when the quality of the food is the issue. Reheating leads to an overcooked dry experience. I will give them another try just to see if things change ... Considering many restaurants are complaining of having short staffs i will applaud them on a great and friendly staff. read more

This place always takes great care of their customers. With the current tendency for poor service around, BW's offers consistent quality on every level. Call me sentimental, but there are few places I hope never disappear from the culinary scene. Today, the restaurant was very quiet. It must be the combination of extreme weather, Bills game and Covid, of course. Our food was finger licking good, literally. The rib tips for an appetizer menu were soft and tender as usual. I wished my sandwich was warmer, but I didn't complain knowing I'll take home most of it anyway. I enjoyed the sweet potato fries with the best ever honey-butter dip. My partner's favorite sandwich, the 12-Gauge, wasn't on the current menu. So he took the 38 Special instead -- smoked beef tenderloin on a kaiser roll -- a good choice. The atmosphere wasn't the same. It made me down a little bit. Seeing all the signs and notes with new regulations wasn't cheerful or good for my appetite. They even removed some of the booth tables to follow the new protocol, and it doesn't look aesthetic . It felt sad, but our server was great and definitely helped. She was brightening the area with a smile and positive attitude every time she was around. read more

Went here for dinner on a Saturday, they don't accept reservations for parties less than five so we arrived at the fairly busy restaurant and asked for a table for two. We were promptly greeted and seated in a booth in the dining room ( as opposed to the bar). Our waitress was friendly and upbeat as she took our drink orders. Our drinks arrived promptly and were exactly as ordered. I ordered a quarter rack of ribs. We also order a platter with beef brisket, chicken and pulled pork. My ribs were a bit dry but the brisket was very tasty and tender. The chicken was equally tasty. We also ordered some cornbread which was delicious. We will certainly return. read more

My coworker and I started the idea of fun food Fridays where we try a different spot on Fridays. I put a bunch of places in a bag and we are going to blindly pick. I'm excited to try some new spots, especially when this was the first from our options. They really set the bar high. We ordered through Doordash and pre-ordered in the morning so we get get it by lunch time. Timing was spot on and the food was still warm. They have portions for every appetite and they have lunch specials. We got a grilled chicken salad and the chicken was very well seasoned. I've never heard my coworker rave so much about a salad lol. The Kansas City tenderloin tips were so tender and had a nice flavor to them. They also came with a side of fries. I couldn't try a BBQ place without seeing what their brisket was like so I got the portion of beef brisket which was great. To my surprise, for the price, it also came with a side so I got the Mac and cheese. Very cheesy. We also got the mashed sweet potatoes which came with a side of honey butter . All of the food was really good and I feel like the prices were very reasonable. Doordash is very high with their fees for this place so be prepared to spend an extra $12-$15 alone on delivery and service fees if you go that route. read more

This might've been good if it was hot ... but EVERYTHING was ice cold. I placed a takeout order via phone. They said it would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived at the correct time and proceeded to wait 30 minutes for my food. Apparently, if you aren't a door dash order you get ignored. 10 door dash orders got picked up while I was waiting. When I finally got my food everything was ice cold, including my wife's fish. The only item that was warm was the macaroni salad. Nothing better than microwave fish for $50. The girl who finally brought my order did apologize but the fact that all 3 items were cold tells me it was just sitting there. If there was a problem at least 1 thing would've been warm. I will try other options next time. read more

A very casual bbq experience. Plenty of indoor seatings for the restaurant side and a bar on the opposite end. Service is friendly, food is not quick but that is to be expected at a bbq joint. I went here on a Friday around 5:30pm. The parking lot was bumpin', which made me nervous that we would have to wait for a table, but we were seated right away. Perhaps it just looked busy with all the servers/cooks cars? I love that you can choose from a long list of sides for all sandwiches/entrees. My son enjoyed his Chicken Little, which was juicy and flavorful. The meat fell right off the bone. And his side of fries was HUGE. I went with the beer battered fish fry. It was a basic fish fry, nothing to right home about. I was a little disappointed when I asked for some more tartar sauce and was given the little packets. The shelf stable tartar sauce is nothing in comparison to the real stuff. The sweet fries and the mac salad were my favorite part. (I highly recommend these sides. BW's has the BEST sweet potato fries and honey butter sauce in this area. And the mac salad reminds me of summer time picnics; lots of mayo and some finely minced vegetables for a nice texture). The baked beans had a bit of an artificial smokiness to me and I wish they still had some meat in them like they used to. Once again, the sides were very plentiful. The server was kind enough to bring out some various bbq condiment cups for us to use for dipping. They all tasted a bit off to me. Especially the original flavor. Maybe it was just a bad batch? The price was decent for all the food we got. Although this wasn't the greatest taste experience, BW's will always have a place in my heart. I'm sure I will be back to give them another shot. read more
