Holy crap! First…read moretime eating at BW's BBQ (5007 Lake Ave), and it was DELICIOUS! We started with French onion crocks, which were a little sweeter than most--in a good way--and potato skins. The cornbread muffins were complimentary, soft, sweet, and honestly the best I've ever had! For dinner, I had the pulled pork sandwich with fries. The fries reminded us of Peg's Place--we love and miss them! The pulled pork was awesome, especially with the Honey BBQ sauce. The other dinner was for sharing: a platter with 4 meats and 2 sides. We chose 2 orders of ribs, brisket, and Kansas City Beef Tips, with garlic mashed potatoes for the sides. Everything was delicious, BUT the beef tips were definitely our favorite. So tender and juicy, and the flavor of the KC sauce was PHENOMENAL!!! All of the staff were super friendly and very attentive. VERY happy with everything, and we can't wait to go back!!! *Sorry about the dinner pic--we forgot to snap one before digging into the brisket and beef tips! *

I don't know if it was because we were the first people at opening or what the challenge was, but the meats and the beans were cold. When we inquired about the cold meats the waitress indicated that the meats were in the warmer. We advised her that, whatever the case, the food was cold as if they had come from the cooler. She "replaced" the chicken with the same cold piece of chicken. When asked the waitress if she could simply warm the food in the microwave she declined and said there was nothing else they could do since the food was already in the warmer. The meats were clearly not fresh cooked/smoked. The brisket was the fattiest piece we have ever been served, with cold and congealed fat. This is the fourth time eating at BW's this year, and it is by far the worst BBQ I have ever had. And unfortunately the restaurant didn't seem to care. Sad to say, we will not be returning to this restaurant.

However, Wanakah Grill has some of the best wings in the Southtowns outside of Bar-Bill. Bartenders are awesome here. This is a neighborhood place, but you won't feel like an outsider. The Beef on Weck is also quite good, although they use Costanzo's rolls like almost everyone else. I prefer a hard roll style for Beef on Weck, but I know that Costanzo's are standard around here now. But back to the wings, there is not a huge selection of exotic sauces, but the standard Buffalo Hot, while not raging hot, is of very high quality and not as vinegar-forward as most, which I appreciate. Mango Habernero is also a great option. By the way, 75 cent wings on Mondays.

We walked 1/2 a block and were in front of the bar at Main & Hamlin and decided to stop in..... good choice. The place is cute and rustic on the inside with side covered patio area. Country music was playing and sports on the tv. We checked out the menu and decided to split 2 meals. We ordered the smash burger with waffle fries and Cajun honey Dijon wings. The smash burger was good and definitely get the waffle fries, the wings were real saucy and tasty. I recommend the home made blue cheese. We got food to go to drop off at my daughters. Another order of wings this time with the Cajun bbq, I did try them, not sure what sauce I would prefer. Also got the chicken crunch taco & that got rave reviews. Plenty of wait staff, friendly good service. Definitely stop in, the food will not disappoint!

Loved everything the service the place and especially the wings. My suggestion if you come to Buffalo get wings at Bar Bills and get another from Mand H. Then take a ride to Anchor bar and you will say East Aurora is now Buffalos wing king champion. And if you see any sports stars in these places. Say hi and go Buffalo.
