A definite favor, when in town. Fresh seafood, steaks, and house specialties. Food portions are gracious, service is excellent, and ambiance is dimmed and rustic lodge-like. So Sorry to have eaten meal before pics were taken. YES it was that good. Shrimp Scampi and Stuffed Flounder ( with all crab meat) were prepared exceptionally. OMG!! the French Onion soup was Amazing! Well worth a visit, preparation time, and the price.(it's not a hamburger joint) Treat yourself to this special place, YOLO!!! Oh did I mention, It's a local family owned restaurant... #Support Local Businesses

With a rustic, lodge like, comfy booth, or table offering, and dinner creations that are varied and exceedingly enjoyable for every pallet it is easy to see why the clientele are laughing and having a marvelous time! Phone reservations are very helpful here! Staff are amazing as even when they are swamped everyone is very friendly and thoughtful! This is a wonderful hidden gem with incredible dishes that beat out any high end culinary experience with their superb attention to taste and creativity! The James River oysters were succulent, boundless in flavor, and a perfect half shell appetizer. The corn chowder was full of delightful surprises, such as peas, potatoes and ham. The warm, flaky dinner rolls, were accompanied by a sweet maple butter. The jumbo fried shrimp were juicy with a crispy breading. The crab cake was limitless with crab, minimal breading, and expertly seasoned to accent not overwhelm the crab flavor. The mashed potatoes could stand on their own, not even needing a gravy helper! The cucumber salad with mayo, and onions were lightly seasoned with dill, leaving the crisp cucumber flavor to stand out. They offer many desserts and we chose a hummingbird cake slice to go. Banana nut, with an almond cream cheese frosting-Delicious!!

This hidden gem serves up outstanding service, mouthwatering cuisine at affordable prices, including must-try steamed mussels seasoned to perfection and a heavenly cucumber salad, all in a warm and cozy atmosphere.

Mussels are great

We love this place. Excellent all around. Go alone or with friends. Great bar, great table service. Oysters, salmon, or steaks. Oh I forgot chicken. 5 or more you can make reservations. Otherwise you may have to wait. Except for the bar. Check their website. https://bluestoneinnrestaurant.com/

Gelatinous cheese substance on mushy broccoli.

Terrible food! The steak was completely unseasoned, the sides were inedible, the bread was stale, and they didn't even pack our baked potato in the to go order. I seriously wondered if they purposely gave us bad food because that would make more sense than the meal they provided being the normal course of business.

Reservations for six or more!

This was a regular haunt for us twenty years ago. Visited tonight and it lived up to our memories. My wife had the crab stuffed trout...the absolute best we have ever had. I had the seafood broiler sampler. Crab imperial, scallops and shrimp. Great hush puppies. Three beers on tap included a very nice amber ale, Bud Light and another. Wonderful service and a great atmosphere. Loved it and we will return the next time we are in town.

My girlfriend and I decided to come here because the reviews were great and we hoped that it wouldn't be crowded. And boy am I glad that we did! Do note that parking can be a bit awkward, we decided to park across the street in the post office parking lot which I'm not entirely sure was legal but it was a Sunday so they weren't open anyways. Immediately upon walking in you can take in the entire restaurant. Maybe ten tables, a little counter, and then two doors leading to the restrooms/kitchen respectively. The hostess sat us down immediately and I felt like we were treated so nicely. The small town vibes of the place really shown through. Seems like the place had a bunch of regulars too and the hostess was making conversation. I was torn between the Dayton burger and the waffle with breakfast meat, but ultimately went with the burger. I was not disappointed at all! The burger was cooked perfectly, super juicy and tender. It got a little messy but that's what you want out of a good burger. I also got a side of onion rings. They were very crispy and delicious, and paired well with their aioli. The sandwiches also come with a pickle spear on the side which I love. My girlfriend got the cali burger which was advertised as coming with guacamole. She said it tasted more like mashed avocado than true guacamole; nevertheless she enjoyed her burger. I will definitely be coming back here! Do yourself a favor and enjoy some delicious food while also supporting this super friendly local business.

I've eaten crab cakes all over including several famous MD crab cakes and I work at a fresh seafood market where we make our own crab cakes. So when I say I know my crab cakes.... I know my crab cakes. Talk of the mountain: this is a super cute and friendly small restaurant located on Main Street. It is very local friendly and the kind of place the staff/owners would know your name and your regular order. I LOVE that. The staff are warm and inviting. You can watch them breading your food and chat with them as you eat. I loved watching. We got the crab cake with fried oysters and shrimp plate with Mac n cheese and fries and hush puppies and another fried shrimp plate with their slaw. It was pretty pricey but we expected that when buying quality seafood. The fried shrimp were absolutely incredible as were the fried oysters (minus the pearl my son found in the one he ate... but again not too much of a surprise). The taste was great, the cook time was perfect, they were delicious! The fries were seasoned and tasty as were the hush puppies (nothing to scream about but definitely good!) the slaw was good (according to my son... I'm not a slaw person). The Mac n cheese was definitely different but not exactly mind blowing. I felt indifferent I didn't love it and feel like I needed it tomorrow, but it wasn't bad. I honestly didn't have an opinion either way on it but I did eat it. The crab cake. The good: this was literally packed with crab meat. Obviously we seek out places that Jam Pack their crab cakes with actual pieces of quality lump crab. Talk of the Mountain certainly does this.... In my opinion to the extreme. When they say zero fillers, they MEAN IT. So does zero fillers make a good crab cake? In my opinion not this way. It was not my cup of tea and I love crab and crab cakes (obviously). It seemed like their formula for the binder was a mustard based concoction and then it was solid crab. The flavor left a lot to be desired and it didn't feel like eating crab cake because there was no filler at all. Making crab cakes is such a delicate balance, a true art in my opinion and while TOTM most definitely is serious about ensuring you taste the crab in their "cakes" the end result was more of a pile of lump crab with a sauce. All that being said I would absolutely eat there again. They were fabulous and I truly applaud their style. This is just my personal perspective from the one visit. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area! Rating: my knee jerk is to give this a 4 because I really am not a fan of the Crabcake and would not order it again, however everything else and the people were 10 stars so I feel like a 5 star rating is deserved. If they ever modified their recipe I would try it again happily AND will def eat there again. The shrimp and oyster was phenomenal.

The restaurant was not busy when we arrived around 11:30. We were seated right away, but did wait longer than anticipated to place our drink and food order. We probably waited 45 minutes to get our food, which seemed too long based on the fact that there were only two tables to serve at that time. Our food arrived warm, not hot. My spouse ordered a special for the day, pork loin with mashed potatoes and gravy. It arrived with no gravy and it was a small portion. He said it was tasty, though, with the gravy he asked our waitress for. I ordered the BLT sliders with my request to add cheddar cheese and fried potatoes. I thought there should be more than one piece of bacon per slider, but the meal did taste fresh and flavorful. I am not sure that I would return, but I am not sorry we gave them a try. Service was friendly, but could have been more prompt. The food is tasty, but the portion sizes are small.

I've always gotten the extra bread rolls I asked for with no judgment at all! We went here since it was close to the resort we were staying at and it was a great decision. The restaurant was packed due to Mother's Day but we were seated after a 30 min wait which we didn't mind. The dinner rolls were delicious as always. We got 2 16 oz NY strip steak dishes with mashed potatoes, fries, chili, and Caesar salad. We also got the steak kabobs which came with seasoned rice and fries. All the dishes were absolutely delicious and the portions were large enough for us to take home leftovers for extra meals!! Our server was kind enough to give us additional dinner rolls with the delicious cinnamon butter to take home. I will always rely on Texas Roadhouse for a great meal. My only complaint is the chili recipe has changed. It used to be "Texas style" chili meaning no beans were added and cubes of meat were used instead of ground beef which seems to have changed. They now have lots of kidney beans and ground beef in the chili which I will replace with another side when I visit next.
