The burgers and fries are awesome. The daily specials are wonderful as well as the salads.

Food is always great. Burgers are good. I usually get the green chili burger. Very good. Fries are good too. They use ground chuck. Never had a problem here. Have TVs to watch sports. Have some beers but not sure on which ones. Have an outdoor playground for the kids. I would recommend this place. read more

Blue Sky Texas - Burgers Near Me - Abilene, Texas

There are lots of burger choices in Abilene, so you have to step up to the plate to be a star. I'm not a fan of the burgers here, but what they call the Blue Sky steak, I love! Two burger patties covered in melted cheese, with grilled onions and jalapeños stuffed in between. So good! But inconsistent. First time, cheese was rich and creamy, completely covering the meat. Next time, cheese was so runny, it flowed off the meat. Had to try and mop it up with the meat. But it will be right next time (please?), so we will be back. Outdoor covered patio and a playground for the kids. read more

Blue Sky Texas - The Blue Sky steak. My favorite! - Burgers Near Me - Abilene, Texas

It was a fun lunch. Hamburgers are very good and large. Sides are good. Staff is great!

Insane, OVERPRICED MENU!!! $9.00 for a cheeseburger that does not deliver high quality and quantity, earns 1 star! My order was 2 cheeseburgers, 2 small fires and 1 small shake, and the insane total was over $30!! This is not a fancy steak restaurant, nor does the thin patty and meat rise to the level of being worth $30. Recommend to raise the quality and quantity or lower the price for a cheeseburger. Do NOT recommend to visitors, military or locals, based on overpriced menu items-it's a burger joint, that charges premium steak restaurant prices=the owner lost his/her mind. read more

Food was really good, the burgers were huge and relatively inexpensive, beef was tasty and seasoned well, very good service as well. Only reason they didn't get 5 was that my fries were cold, other than that it was very tasty, will definitely return. read more

The bubble patty burger is to die for my rating is a 5 star when ur in town u should come here

Love the burgers and milkshakes! They use Blue Bell! Service is fast and everyone is very nice.

With the mixed reviews, I decided to try it at last. The friendly cashier said they never freeze their meat that they get fresh shipments in each week. My husband and I shared the 1/3 pound cheeseburger (good soft fresh bun, NOT sweet) and the combo fries and onion rings. The hamburger patty was juicy and cooked perfectly. It's not better than Heff's, just different. I returned the next day to treat my BFF to the cheeseburger and yummy onion rings. Thinly sliced, well-seasoned with noticeable flecks of black pepper, crispy light batter, the onion rings alone are worth the return. The fries are thin, skin-on, and tasty. The parking lot is always crowded, but inside there was lots of seating. Noise level wasn't bad. Your order number pops up on the small black screens in each room. read more

Burgers are good but buns are greasy and get soggy fast. I like how they stack their burgers. Their fries are delicious. They provide Lawry's season salt and it makes them even better. They have a special with two "steak" chuck patties with jalapeños and onions sandwiched between with queso on top. Served with a side of fries for $8.99 So good! Lots of seating, everything was very clean and they have a nice selection of drinks including coconut tea! They also just built a new kids play area outside! read more

Stupid Pricing! Phoned in a green chile burger, small tots, and a soft drink for pick up. I get to the window to pick up my order and the total is $17.18! That's right, almost $20 for a burger, tots, and drink. I recommend driving right past this place when you're looking for a quick meal. There's too many comparable places near this location at a better price point. read more

Onion rings were fairly greasy (probably an oil temp issue) but everything else was fine. Prices were fairly high, too.

Today was my first day to eat at blue sky. Great location, friendly staff and average food makes for a decent lunch spot. I had the cheeseburger and french fries. The bun was fresh and appeared to be homemade, veggies were crisp and fresh, meat patty was small (close to a quarter pound patty) and very dry - it had reminants of good flavor. It only makes me wonder if it wasn't so overcooked how good it must taste. The fries were average but very soggy - I prefer a crisper french fry. The ketchup on the table for the fries was a watery generic - yuk! Abilene has many burger joints to choose from - Lucy's and Heff's to name two that put this place to shame. With that bring ssid, I will be back - hopefully next time it will be better. read more

Blue sky has terrible customer service. Visted abilene and wanted to try something new. Do NOT waste your time!!!! Disgusted. Asking to speak to a manager, manager Elena told me that its not her problem after finding HAIR in my food and couldnt get a refund. Will not be visiting ever again. read more

Great atmosphere and great kid environment. Huge play area for kids while in view of parents. Food was very good. Once you order your own your own. Very casual after a long day to chill out and eat and have a beer. read more

This is like Mighty Fine in Austin. Upscale burger joint that has a nice expansive dining area and ample parking. The cashier was fast and professional. She also asked if this was our first time to educate us order pick up system (screens that post your number) I ordered the blue plate special - steak and fries. My wife ordered the burger. We also got an order of green chili fries. That cost us 31.54 with drinks. Not an everyday lunch... The blue plate is a hamburger that came covered in queso and jalapeños. I got a side of onion rings. They are very thin. Mostly batter. The meat and queso mix was pretty good and spicy! My wife said her burger was good also. But not her favorite burger. She ranks it with 5 Guys and Mighty Fine. Smash Burger is the BEST though. The green chili fries were kind of a waste. A helmet of cheese.. Meh. Well come back and we are leaving full! read more

Came here for a burger and was not disappointed. The wrangler was great. The reason for the low rating, the area around the drink machines must needs cleaning for there were a lot of fruit flies, and there was a guy cleaning the benches, though he was doing a good job, pulling out the bench and clean it out good, he was making a ton of noise smacking the broom against the wood and dropping then bench seat back in. Did both benches beside us. Food was good the atmosphere was the downside. Update drink area cleaner but cheese sticks not really with cheese... read more

Food is AMAZING. Workers are AMAZING. Love this spot. Best burgers in Abilene. If you have kids this is the place you want to go for sure. But if not, you can eat inside and it's a good vibe all the way around read more

Hamburgers are so good. They have awesome onion rings and the service is always quick and friendly.

I'm often described as a burger connoisseur. I have tried burgers from all over the world and these burgers are average at best. The price is kind of expensive for what they are offering and if you want french fries, it is not included in the burger price. The burger looks like it came from a family reunion cookout, it doesn't have that restaurant quality look. Once again, the burger is more on the dry side, but I do enjoy the crisp on the french fry. It's always busy and the line is sometimes out the door. It's a chain resutant if I am not mistaken, so don't be upset if the line is too long. There are others in this world lol. This is pretty much as 5 star as you can get in Abilene . read more

The restaurant inside and outside is nice, the food is delicious, kid-friendly, of course bathrooms too, not that expensive (but mostly depends on how much you get or just what you get in general), the workers are also nice and respectful as well. Generally rate this restaurant 10/10 hands down. Trust me, you will enjoy it! But being on a cheap budget, it'll fill you up, but make sure you don't spend much, it does cost some. The only emotion I feel towards Blue Sky is happiness. You can smell wonderful delicious food as you walk in.. read more

Good burgers, beer, and an awesome Greek chicken salad option! Burgers are good but a little expensive

This is a really good burger place in Abilene! The sides are usually really good, but today the fries were not as good as normal. It was like they made them too soon and they sat while waiting on the rest of our food. They also have eight different types of tea and they're all really good! The service is always great and it's a really fun and family friendly place to go too! I definitely recommend if you're passing through Abilene! read more

Took my boys here for lunch and it was great. Burgers were great and service was fast. There is an outdoor play area that kept the kids entertained while I visited with a friend, which is an added bonus. Don't really have much else to add.. when it's good, it's good! read more

Very good food (love their burgers, salads, chicken, etc) but way too expensive! It's a bit pricey just for a burger but once you add cheese, fries and drink it's kind of ridiculous! read more

Tonight was our first night to try Blue Sky after living here for over a year and we are very impressed. The girls working the register were very friendly, the restaurant is clean, and our food came out perfect. This is the best burger I have had in Abilene. We will be back! read more

NOT dog friendly, even though even though the Yelp app shows them to be, so no clue how good the food is.

Low rating based on high pricing. If I want to pay $4.00 for a shake I think I shouldn't have to get up and get it myself. The burger was excellent as were the onion rings. Th chicken fried steak was very small for the price and the skin-on hand cut fries were okay but very soggy. For 2 ppl to spend $32 on lunch I would have liked to have a genuine diner experience rather than have to get up and down for our food from a counter. read more

This Panhandle (Amarillo & Lubbock) franchise has made its way to Abilene. Order at the counter and watch for your order number to come up on the screen. It is bigger than any of the other burger places in town and it has a covered patio. They serve beer and wine. My husband and I both got cheeseburgers (his was double meat double cheese) and shared a large combo fries/onion strings. I had a water and he had a Dr. Pepper. Our bill was $25. The burger had a soft bun and fresh veggies but the patty wasn't terribly thick or flavorful. Most of the flavor was coming from the toppings. The fries were hand cut shoestrings and the onion strings (not rings--thin cut) had a nice peppery batter but the portion could have been more generous for the price of $4.50. It was fine but not "drive out of my way" special. read more

The Green chili cheese burger was very good in spite of they forgot the green chili , they gave to me after I went back to counter without question. My disappointment was the much anticipated onion rings, they were cooked in old grease , or they were precooked and sit and absorbed the grease. Last visit was in Amarillo and I wanted my wife to experience the light and crispy rings , and they were not ! ate 1/2 tossed the rest , and I did not tell management , wife had to go back to work. Service was ok , associates were talking among theirselves between customers but did recognize when you walked up for service by a "May I help you". The buss man was the one bright spot he was quick and friendly. Disappointing lunch. read more

Inside is well kept and the burger actually tastes better without al the dressings/fixins. Line moves relatively fast but it gets full quick around lunch time. The outside tables are not well kept at all. Not only typical dust but food crumbs left on the tables. If it weren't for that it would prob get 4 stars. I wiped my own table outside. Little playground for kids to play in while waiting on food read more

I went to the Blue Sky in Abilene for the first time and had their cheeseburgers with tots. It was an average experience. Below are cons and pros. Cons: The buns were greasy. The ambient noise of the dining area is much to noisy for my comfort. I should not have to struggle to listen to people talking when enjoying their company. The tots were much salty for my taste(s). Pros: The burger was fantastic. The burger was loaded with lettuce and tomato. In a way, I order a small salad and I like that. The sweet tea was on point. The cashier was very polite, fast, and professional. Overall, it was an average experience and I might give it another try. I would recommend trying it out for yourself! read more

I really wanted to like this new establishment, but with so many excellent choices for a burger in this town, I just can't give it a glowing review. The burger was thin, crumbly, and without flavor. It was well overpowered by the vegetable toppings. The bun was flattened and lifeless. My husband got the texas cheese steak, which looked exactly like a burger without the lettuce and tomato. Meh. The queso was terribly overpriced for the portion we received. $2 for a ketchup cup's worth? Not worth it. The french fries were terrible. Thin, dark brown and soggy. So. Soggy. The location is nice, the atmosphere is lovely, and the patio is awesome. The beer selection is nothing fancy, but it's nice that they have some. The counter help was friendly and the wait was short. That's really the only reason it gets 3 stars. The food was 2.5 at best. read more

I was ready to love Blue Sky, so I hate to post an "average" review.... I had the cheeseburger with fries. I would put the burger at about a 3.5. For comparison, Whataburger is right there. The fries were better. They are thinner than I prefer, but "home cut" and they come in at a 4. If it weren't for factoring in prices, this place might be a 4. There are just too many quality burger places in town. Heff's, Lucy's and Wholly Cow come in at 4 and their fries are 5. The thing Blue Sky has going for it is room, a patio and beer. Those will keep it popular; but won't make me a regular. Bottom line... It's not disappointing, but it's not the best burger in town if that matters to you. I can get a bigger, better cheeseburger, fries and a drink for $3 less at two different places within a mile of here. read more
