ZERO STAR RATING. After 2 months with 'blue science pools" .Look at the photos, AFTER my weekly service. Guy arrived on his phone talking investments, never put his phone down, stood on driveway after "cleaning" still talking, guy in his truck still blabbering away. Actually yelling into his phone, scared my wife. Was here 11 minutes. Did not clean pool skimmer baskets, did not clean filter skimmer basket, did not add chlorine tablets, did not brush pool walls and steps, debris floating on top, no chemical added. Chemical adjustment was needed, I tested myself. Pool is green after 2 months of "professional" service. Tech told his boss he did all above, pictures and video do not lie. In 13 years worse pool has ever looked after 2 months with blue science. Should be called " Green Fictions" not "Blue Science". Fired. Stay away from Blue Science Pools...PLEASE! read more

Stay away. I had been using them going on 2 years and had little issues. Ever since the start of 2026 service has been horrible. My pool has been green with algae for months and they have done nothing about it. Each week they send out a different technician to "clean" it yet all they do is skim the leaves and test chemicals. None of them know how to properly clean and maintain a pool. They've also not shown up at all and no one can give me a a reason why. I called to cancel the other week and the service manager assured me they would have my pool properly clean in no time and offered to credit me for a few cleanings so I am not charged. As I first suspected, that was nothing more than empty words. My pool is still green, they didn't show up for 3 cleanings I was promised and was not notified why. On top of all this, I got an email on 4/22 saying rates were increasing $5.41 per week to account for chemicals and labor. Stay away. read more

Chris Parmer came today to "clean" our pool. He sat in his truck almost the whole time! He then proceeded to throw some chemicals into the pool and drive away!! Needless to say, it was cleaner before. He was only in our yard for one minute, 2 minutes tops. Absolutely unacceptable - this is the 4th time this company has come in to take care of our pool, and every. single. time. they have failed to vacuum the pool floor. So disappointed!! Avoid them. The only reliable department is the billing department I hired them to service the pool weekly, that does not get done. I have call corporate office to get the pool serviced as agreed upon in the contract. I was told I would get notifications when they would be servicing the pool, they don't call, text or notify you when they are coming. My pool has not been well maintained at all. Horrible company that doesn't care about their customers nor their employees. Their employees are doing upwards of 15 pools per day making it impossible to properly maintain even ONE of those pools. I want to give this company a much better rating because they do have a few good guys who seem to care about doing a good job. However, they keep sending me "Jonathan" who is very, very lazy. He shows up, checks the chemicals and that's it. He doesn't like to empty the baskets, or brush.... ever. We have reached out to the company multiple times, and finally we had to ask them to send someone else. They did, for about 2-3 weeks and then Jonathan is back. They have a 20 or 23-point service (depending on what level you pay) and brushing is included on both, as is emptying the baskets. He's completing perhaps 2 of the 20-points that we pay for. If you're paying for service, there's an expectation that it will be done. If all I'm getting is chemicals checked, I can find that same deal much cheaper. This is the last attempt with this company. If they send this guy again we'll go elsewhere. read more

Absolutely the worst company I have ever dealt with. My pool has been green for the past 6 months, see attached picture for reference. They caused damage to my equipment, and their only solution has been me paying them more money to fix equipment they broke. They can't bring themselves to fill up my pool when the water level is low, which eventually caused my pump to run dry. They keep no records of what has historically happened with my pool, so that field service, maintenance, and repairs on never on the same page. This company does not even reserve a star. They would send guys that were not fully trained to clean the pool. One put the basket upside down which made my pool cleaning machine make a huge noise. That's how I noticed something was wrong. After that drained my pockets. They didn't take accountability and I ended up getting with another company that fixed it. Blue Science came in on week one and said my pump is great, everything is great and then a week later said the breaker broke and then next day said the pump Is fried! Whenever my neighbor has Blue Science pool back flush the pool filter it totally destroys my property. There is green slim in my driveway and water everywhere. It seems it is easier for Blue Science to flood an adjacent property rather than roll out a drain hose therefore swamping my property. This has been going on for years. I have contacted Blue Science about the issue. This keeps happening even today. We switched our pool service from Davis pools when our pool turned green under their care. What a night and day difference between these two companies. Davis would literally be at our house under a minute only throwing chemicals in our pool and dashing. They never checked equipment and if something broke their typical response its not my fault. Enters Blue Science Pools. I called them on Memorial Day was surprised to get an answer. Less than a week later had my pool serviced by the area manager and my pool was clean again. He said our filter hasn't been cleaned in month, why we were having all these issues. They check the equipment, clean the pool and put in chemicals for what we were paying Davis pools. Blue science is your typical larger scale pool cleaning company. The pool techs incentives are quite easy. They get paid by each stop. How that effects you is they don't spend the time with your pool and as you can see below is what the outcome is. Communication was non existent, I had to keep calling them to come back out and half the time it was just excuses. DO NOT go with Blue Science. There's a reason they have 1.5 stars for their yelp rating. They will break your equipment and leave your pools in worse shape than when you started. They don't communicate with their cleaning crew so they have no idea about your pool when they have new techs cleaning who seem to be replaced every other month. They don't take responsibility for their own mistakes and damage that they cause to your equipment, and then they have the nerve to quote you hundreds to thousands of dollars for repairs. We are now on our third technician with Blue Science Pools. I should have read reviews before hiring this company, because it clearly seems that the consensus in the reviews is that the company and their technicians do not perform the cleaning and maintenance that they are contracted to do. Despite being on a weekly service plan, it became clear that they were not actually performing the cleanings or maintenance they claimed. On multiple occasions, I checked my security camera footage and saw a tech arrive, snap a photo and leave within minutes - upon which I would receive a report claiming the pool was "cleaned and serviced." When I confronted them about this, they either deflected or doubled down with false information. Numerous times I am actually in the house, watching them out the window do this - and when I've called to complain I am told that "lightning" was in the area so they couldn't do the cleaning (despite sending me a text and email with a photo stating the pool was cleaned!) Unfortunately I didn't hear about these sites till recently other than YELP. MY REVIEW IS ON BLUE SCIENCE POOLS IN SAN ANTONIO .I'M a widow raising my 2 young grandsons. I adopted them after my son died. I just terminated service with Blue Science after 2 yr. I just couldn't deal with the constant turnover in techs, poor pool maintenance, constant increases in prices, misdiagnosed problems of equipment,etc. I would give them a "MINUS 10 STARS" if I could. When I asked for a refund due to a pool analysis done which showed extreme amounts of cyanuric acid I was sent an email with a 4 page legal document to be signed. It stated they would refund me $374 ONLY if I signed a waiver to not disclose any info on them or write any bad reviews otherwise I would be sued. I told them to keep their money . I'd rather lose the money than to not warn people of their unfair business practices, inflated pricing, blackmail , etc. It was signed by CEO. YOU MESSED WITH THE WRONG GRANNY!!!! I TERMINATED YOU. NOT THE THE OTHER WAY AROUND. NEXT on to Tx.Attorney General ,BBB and News Media!! When I first signed up with BLUE SCIENCE everything was good for about 6 mo. Had an excellent tech named Victor and the husband and wife managers were great. Then they either quit or were fired. Everything went downhill after that. Also I signed up with them at a rate I could afford as I am disabled from a stroke and my only income is Social Security. The monthly rate came to $150 and cleaning the filter every 3 months they were charging $99.I later found out I would be charged an extra $42 charge for any 5th weeks in certain months. Without any notice from Blue Science the rates for cleaning the filters would go up. There was a constant turnover in techs and Field Managers. I calculated I saw about 30 techs or more servicing my pool in a 2 yr. span.I had to wonder how can my pool be serviced properly with all these new techs who were only trained a couple of days. I had to cancel my grandsons birthday party due to the awful condition of the pool. He was turning 13, a teenager, it was a big deal to No apology!! Just a few months after SIGNING up with BLUE SCIENCE I was told by a tech my booster pump to the Polaris wasn't working. The booster pump was only 2 yr.old. It cost me $800+. I later found out they had really inflated the cost. About 6 months later they said the booster pump once again needed replacing but it was still under warranty. Their repair tech from Austin came down and after waiting 2 weeks for them to come out, he said" there's nothing wrong with the booster pump" it's your timer that's the problem. Keep in mind BLUE SCIENCE charges $118 for a service call, ,nonrefundable. YOU are probably wondering WHY I stayed with BLUE SCIENCE so long. Good question as I've asked myself the same question. I stayed with them because they offerred winterization months at a reduced rate $74 from Oct.-Mar. After so many issues with maintenance of my pool and so many different techs I contacted one of the CEO'S, the only one with a listed email or phone contact, Taylor West. My issue at that time was the rising cost of cleaning the filter my original agreement with BLUE SCIENCE in 2018 was to filter cleaning @$99, it then went up to $129, now $135.00. I have security cameras with DVR recorder. It took 5 min to spray filter with water. I spoke with an agent asking why I can't refuse the 5th weeks as I'M THE CUSTOMER. She replied "our automated billing system cannot be changed, however if you notify your field managet you don't want them to come out the 5th week ,then call us and we will adjust/ refund your bill. This worked a couple of times but then was told the CEO wouldn't approve it. CEO Taylor West sent a HUGE FRUIT BASKET with his then current Field MGR with a message that they thought I'd be better off going with someone else and they would pay the $74 for one month of service till I got someone else. Then what finally made me terminate them is they started charging $16 a month for chlorine, because the cost went up on them. I pointed out after 3 mo. Of this if they have 1 million customers as stated and they are charging all of them $16 then that's 16 million dollars $$ in extra revenue a MONTH. I asked for them to show me their purchase invoices before the chemical plant exploded and the invoices now showing their increase in price was justifiable for that much revenue to them per month. Of course they didn't respond. Anyone who knows of an Attorney that would be interested in pursuing this let me know. I'm not out to make any money for myself but to expose BLUE SCIENCE TO ALL CUSTOMERS!! NO other pool companies that I've talked to are imposing this loss to the customer. read more

Avoid this company! We had a horrible experience with Blue Science. If I could give negative stars, I would. Pool maintenance team was unskilled, left large amounts of debris in our yard and driveway, and in one case said they cleaned but had not. I would expect the management team to be responsive and boots on the ground to correct things but the longer that we were customers, the worse and worse our pool was appearing and functioning. I could share photos of the 3 weeks they left our pool green with an overload of algae. This is despite their assurance of the need for very costly repairs that only lead to being told that more repairs and part replacements were needed. All in, we spent an AVERAGE OF OVER $700 PER MONTH to Blue Science between August 2024 and April 2025. Read the other Yelp reviews and the reviews on BBB. This is an egregious excuse for a business. A few of my complaints: D/E all over the bottom of the pool. Auto fill mechanism manipulated with a cell phone cable causing the pool to overflow. Polaris 260 line incorrectly attached to the wall, causing it to disengage and the pump to run against no pressure. Backwash hose left in a tangled mess in the yard. I started pool service with this company. The representative who set me up seemed so nice. The first visit was someone who also evaluates everything. He tried to say I had "blow back" from the filter so it couldn't get clean and air in the pipes. Said I needed a repair tech from their service department to come and fix it or give an estimate. I has already gone through thus same senerio thru Pool Pros. Trying to sell me on a couple thousand dollar repair. They refused to come back to service the pool maintenance without the repairs needed. I hired my previous pool company back (they are a bit pricier but worth it), and they cleaned the pool fine. Hands down some of the worst service we've ever had from anyone. I have been trying for four months to get someone in management to call me and no matter how many times I ask they will never call me. Our pool chemical readings are way off. If we get in the pool we smell like chlorine for at least 24 hours even after showering. When they show up for service they halfway do the job. They never vacuum as required per contract and they've left my gate open for my dog on numerous occasions. You can't actually talk to anyone and the service folks who answer the phone, while pleasant, cannot get anything done for you. I'm a former employee at blue science pools. I was hired on as a training manager. Ive been in the pool industry for 17yrs and I have never seen a company do the things they do here. They treat their customers pools horribly. Use chemicals like G90 which is Di-Chlor that will cause your cya to go up. So these customers have to pay hundreds of dollars to drain there pool. Residential Pools only require you to drain your pool every 5 years. But there customers were draining pools Frequently. So if you paid for them to drain your pool I'm sorry cause its there fault. If you got a report of high cya. Tell them they need to drain and refill with no charge cause they caused it to go high from the G90. read more

These pictures were taken right after the technician left. They didn't do anything and been on the phone for 30 minutes waiting for a resolution. This service is a joke. read more

They came out weekly for 7 weeks, and during that time, my water went from crystal clear to green, and they will tell people (me) who they think will not know better that it's pollen that is sticking to the bottom and sides of the entire pool and not admit that it is mustard algae. Wish I could give 0 stars. Signed up for a monthly pool service towards the last week of June. They rescheduled over and over again until they finally started the service in July. Still got charged for a prorated June amount despite not receiving service. Additionally on top of our July charge, they charged us for a chemical surcharge of another $30, which they never communicated over the phone, e-mail or on their website. In general, I think pool service companies are generally rated harder than they should be. Mostly people always complain but rarely mention when the work goes well as expected. But having said that, my issues with Blue Science come down to how they are organized as a company. If things really go south with your pool, it takes months to resolve the issues because of how their company is structured. I have opened so many tickets and talked their multiple service line managers soooo many times that I finally resulted in logging a BBB complaint. IF someone at the top of the company finally contacts me and resolves the issues, then I will update my rating. The service line managers themselves are not bad guys, but if your pool has multiple issues they start to bounce the issues between them and there is no way to get to the next level of management above them to get your issues resolved. Every type of issue is handled by a different service manager in the company (regular maintenance, chemical or algae care, construction work, equipment repair- all separate). My pool has ALL of those issues and I've been dealing with this now for six months. I have been calling them weekly (now daily) for several months now and it's always a new ticket, a new technician sent out (after a three day wait) or they completely miss sending someone and you have to call again. I'm over it. I went to the BBB and will go to small claims if it doesn't get resolved now. I am in the hole about $9K with a green swamp pool that is leaking about 6 inches a day. read more

Blue Science lured me back with their pricing model, but as soon as I joined, their rates went through the roof. That $189 a month weekly service you see on their site is complete BS. There's an additional $27.50 a month for Chems. Then - and this is the kicker - there's an additional $27.50 a month charge for the "Chlorine Shortage" which ended a couple of months ago. This is just pure profit taking. In the last month, they've added 3 - yes 3 - 3" chlorine tabs to my pool and I've paid about $150 for that "service". I could have bought two 25lb chlorine buckets for that amount which would last me 2 years! Stay WELL CLEAR of this scam. Don't say I didn't warn you!!! read more

Horrible experience! 1) Didn't add chlorine but stated they did in their report. This was EVERY week. 2) Failure to check my pump pressure but annotated on their report it was at or close to 20. 3) Charged me for cleaning my filter then caused DE to leak back into my pool. The last straw was after they performed a backwash they jacked up my valve and REFUSED to fix it without charging me! I had to replace the spider gasket which was less than 4 months old. In the end I felt they were very dishonest and didn't have my best interest at heart. I will no longer be using them or recommending them. read more

When I interviewed for the position, I was promised things that always came up empty. There was nowhere to grow in the company and the management was pathetic at best. The company has the highest turnover rate, and if they looked into the reasons why it would be the regional manager. He is like a dirty politician, he will always tell you what you want, and then act like he never agreed to anything. The company overcharges the customer for the lack of quality that they provide for the work. The technicians are poorly trained. Save time and frustration and don't bother with this company. I have a small pool surrounded by a zero scape yard and no trees. I initially called them to turn my pool from green to blue and regular maintenance, it took them over 3 weeks to turn my pool green to blue. They can't give you a straight answer on the billing which changes without any notice and it's not anything resembling what they list on n their website. My bill was never the same my last bill was $169 and I was told I would only pay $99 monthly, my bill was never $99. I had called several times to understand the billing but I got a lot of excuses and vague reasons and assurances. I did get a $7 discount. I swear every time I called about the bill it would go up. they don't care about the quality of service you're paying a lot for either the kid that came to my house didn't clean filters, brush the pool, check water level, check chemicals and worse he almost ruined a brand new pump because apparently he didn't have enough common sense to screw on a lid! please don't was your time or money with Blue Science Pool service. read more

Deceitful. Dishonest. We went with this company b/c the previous owners had used them. They gave us the sales pitch of how many checks and balances they go through to ensure that their technicians are honest. Still doesn't matter. We set up a filter cleaning for $149. TBH, it needed it. When the technician was done, he reinstalled the filters, but didn't turn the pump back on, b/c it wouldn't prime. We were told it wouldn't prime because the O-ring band couldn't seal correctly. Not knowing anything about pools, I believed him. A friend came out a few days later (after the pool had started to bloom) and we got it up and running. So I didn't really need a $750 band clamp job. I spoke with the owner and he agreed to fix it, on them, with no real fuss. I thought, okay, they owned the mistake, they are trying to fix it. A different person came out to drain and clean the pool. Job was done, as promised and to a satisfactory level. I refilled the pool. The original technician came out out and put chemicals in the pool, but couldn't get the pump to prime...again. After some work, I got it going. The next day I noticed the pump wasn't working...again. So I tried to prime and nothing worked. I called another company out and watched as they worked. When the motor was removed, we both observed that the screws that were supposed to hold the siphon house on were missing. Not corroded, not snapped off or any where to be found...missing. For the previous 30 days before calling Blue Science, the pump never failed to come on. After their 'service' it was almost impossible to get it working correctly. While I did not witness anyone trying to sabotage our pump, I can only assume that the screws were taken out to sabotage the pump, since there were absolutely no artifacts to show any of the three screws ever being there. Do the research and don't ignore the reviews. Not only will the services be spotty, your pool/equipment may get damaged. read more
