    I am very unhappy with the grooming my dog received here. I took both of my dogs in to be groomed and one was groomed well, but the other one was not. His toenails were not trimmed. He was not given a bath, he had blood on his bottom. His hair is crooked. His ears and tail had knots. The two pictures below are 15 minutes after I had picked him up. His face is filthy! He also smelled horrible! He smelled like baby wipes. I'm not sure if they have a new groomer or what. I had taken my dogs here three months before this and was very happy with the job they did. When I went there three months ago, it cost $200 to have both of my dogs groomed. Both dogs are under 20lbs. I was willing to pay that because I thought they did a good job. This time, the price jumped to $240 and they did a horrible job. I emailed the manager two days ago with pictures and she has not responded.

    Kelly always takes special care of Louie: a dog we have rescued from a particularly harsh abuse case. We have been rehabilitating him and helping him work through his fears for almost a year now. Not only has Kelly (owner of Blue Ribbon Pets) always been kind and gentle with him, using her knowledge of dog behavior she has been gracious enough to work with him to overcome some of his issues. She has treated him as if he were her own and given him the space he needed while helping him learn new places are safe and humans can be kind and wonderful. I would never take him anywhere else to stay! All dogs are treated as special guests here.

    Mendocino County residents, BEWARE!! For starters, when you call they NEVER answer, you always have to leave a voicemail and don't get a call back until the next day. Then when I get to the facility, the owner picked apart the things I was saying about my dogs behavior. Those were all things I could understand. What I don't understand, is how I don't get notified that I was now being charged $81/day instead of the $56 a day I was originally quoted until I went to pick up my dog. The girl that I paid with said they had a note that they were charging extra, but there was no details as to why. I had asked for a printout of the details, I was told they do not have a breakdown. While I was on vacation, I had called and left a message and I had gotten a call back the next day, but nothing was mentioned of an extra charge! I have a voicemail from Kelly saying that my dog had "let himself out and into another kennel." Well that's a huge red flag to me! How was he even able to achieve this in a boarding facility? When I arrived back to pick up my dog, the grooming lady was the one I paid with and she said my dog was in a smaller kennel than he should've been in. My dog is 160 lbs , so he needs a big space. Apparently they only have one double kennel and that was already occupied. She should've mentioned that to me before boarding and I would've gone elsewhere and not be feeling TOTALLY RIPPED Off! The owner Kelly had also said my dog is a sweet boy and loved to hug, not one mention of anything really being an issue. He's also limping, which I thought was maybe from laying down too long. After looking at his paws, I discovered a blister in between one of his toes. I'm hoping to speak with Kelly to get further explanation on the extra charges and will post an update.

    Superb service, very good at handling the dogs. They are very flexible and they take care of special need puppies and dogs.

    Outrageous pricing! $70 for a small dog, never heard of that, we usually pay $40. Won't be back.

    After my usual boarding facility had to cancel our reservation just days before I was heading out…read moreof town for my child's college graduation, I had to go in full panic mode to find someone else that not only had availability but also someone I could trust with my fur babies. I came across a mention of Furfield Pet Place on Nextdoor and contacted them to ask for information. Mark got back to me quickly and we set up a meet and greet for the very next day. My dogs did well during the meet and great and Mark gave me a tour as well as answered any questions I had. I felt very comfortable with the information and his home and knew it would be a good fit for my dogs. His prices were also very good and he had me fill out an intake form that also made me feel comfortable that they wanted to know all about my dogs to make sure they were well taken care of when I was gone. Mark sent updates and pictures multiple times per day and I always knew how they were doing. My older dog usually is quite depressed and miserable when boarded and seemed to be doing great! I was set to pick them up the next morning after I got back and I overslept! Mark was very forgiving about that which was also appreciated. I definitely will be using Furfield Pet Place for my pet boarding needs in the future. My dogs comfort is so important to me and the fact that they clearly felt THAT comfortable speaks volumes to me.
