I finally brought myself to write this review after I don't know how long. The fact that they got our stuff to our home safely is the only reason I am giving two stars versus one. These guys charge by time and all I can say is that at the time we moved our team of guys took sooooooo long to move our stuff. Not only that .. they actually took a break on the way to our new home and disappeared on us for over almost two hours. When we asked where they went they said they had to stop for gas and snacks. We were charged for the time they "filled gas" and had snacks. There isn't much more I can say about this business other than that. The manager stopped by at the end of the job and asked us how things went so we told him about the long break but he didn't say much and we were asked to pay so we did. Conclusion - make sure you ask about the time they charge for and if breaks are included etc. read more

I was not happy with the service Blue Ribbon movers provided. They moved me from a 2 bed 2 bath apartment into house in the suburbs. Despite a previously great experience with Square Cow, I went with blue ribbon based on my realtor's recommendation. Mistake. The movers took ~45 minutes for lunch while moving the items between our start point and destination which they CHARGED us for. They asked if it was OK if they took 15 minutes to stop at a gas station on the way. There was no mention of whether or not we would be charged. We agreed but the break was actually 45 minutes. We had arrived at our new house and were waiting more than 45 minutes for them to arrive. Lo and behold, we were charged for their 45 minute lunch break. On top of that, some of the boxes were delivered to the wrong rooms, even when they were clearly marked. This can be a big problem when we are talking upstairs vs downstairs and you're a petite woman that has difficulty moving boxes. No way would I use Blue Ribbon again. read more

This is my fifth move with Blue Ribbon and it definitely won't be my last. Manny and his team were very nice and professional. The movers were on time, courteous, and communicated with me every step of the way. We moved from a third floor apartment to another third floor apartment in a different building and had a lot of heavy stuff! My husband and I just build our first home together. We went from a 2300 sq ft home to a 2800 sq ft home. I had never hired anyone to move us in the past because we think that we are young and strong and that we are invincible! Well, needless to say, we have a 1 year old and we are not as young as we think anymore... I had called 3 other moving companies to get a quote. I had a very specific list of the exact items that needed to be moved. I was trying to keep it to a minimum of just the heavy items to save on cost. I was booked with a company that I still thought was a little high but thought I would just go with them... This week we moved our family across Austin from Pflugerville to the west side. We found Manny and his team via referral and they lived up to the recommendation. Manny came out to do a thorough walk-through, gave us pricing with several options that fit our needs and made us feel confident that all would go smoothly. And it did go smoothly - the guys and the truck showed up exactly on time, they got right to work and loaded our 4 BR house in about 3 hours. The unload took about the same amount of time but that's only because we added stairs to the mix as well as having to re-assemble a few pieces of unruly furniture. The price was more than fair, the timeframe was perfect and everyone we dealt with at Blue Ribbon was professional, courteous and helpful. Picking a mover is a daunting task. After considering lots of companies we ultimately chose Manny & his team at Blue Ribbon based on a friend's reco and we could not be more pleased with the overall experience. They're reasonably priced and coordinating everything before the move with Manny was very smooth. He was transparent about what he could and could not accommodate and was super responsive and flexible with our requests and provided guidance for what plan would suit us best. He called the day of to make sure we were happy with how the team was handling the move which was great. We had three movers move as much as they could from our house and storage unit within a certain time frame. They were constantly communicating with us about how much room was left in the truck and what could be moved from the house to still ensure the storage unit stuff would fit which we appreciated. We first used Manny and Blue Ribbon moving 2 years ago to move my mother in law from Corpus Christi to Austin. We were so impressed with Manny and his entire staff that we have used him a total of 3 addtional times with everything from moving an office desk 5 miles to moving our household goods from Wimberley to Austin from our weekend house that sold and then a week later our entire house outside of Houston to our new house in Austin. They are always on time (usually early) and always very fair on the price. No surprises and no damage. Very courteous staff and very effecient. I would not use this moving company, you can hire White Glove, El Sol Logistics, 5 Star Movers. The owner touts moving high end people in Austin, but when he damaged my custom bed and soiled 10k rug he would not take responsibility for it and made me pay for the repairs. He shipped one of my boxes to another city and would not return it to me after sending numerous texts and pictures. He rushed the movers who were very polite and doing a great job so that everything was not complete. Save yourself the headaches and hassles hire a true professional who is polite and will have quick follow through to make sure all your things arrive to you in perfect condition! read more

Matter of fact, many of his guys have worked for him for years and are extremely careful with your items. Everything always shows up. Everything is always in good condition. I had an exhausting and complicated move and Manny and his team were amazing throughout the entire process. I found Manny through my real estate agent, and she said he was awesome with antiques, delicate items, and large amounts of stuff. Everything came through the move perfectly. I had to do my move in stages (storage pods, regular storage), and Manny was flexible and worked with me and all the scheduling deadlines. He had great advice about making the move more efficient, as I wasn't able to move into my new home immediately. His team is amazing. There are some really awful movers out there (and, yes, some have national names), but these guys are by far the best. It's not often I do online reviews, but I wanted to take the time to chime in on the outstanding customer service and overall experience with Manny and his Blue Ribbon crew. They came highly recommended by our realtor and also by a friend of ours who have used them twice for local Austin moves. Manny was great to work with pre-sale and I had pretty high expectations. On the day of the move his guys showed up on time at 8:30 in the morning and they never stopped moving for 3 1/2 hours, taking special care to consult with us along the way and ensure we were satisfied as they loaded up the truck. They didn't make a single dent or scratch on move-out or the move-in 15 miles away where again they didn't stop moving for another 3+ hours. But best of all the whole team of 4 guys were highly communicative with both myself and my wife. And we had hard stuff to move too, like a jillion ton piano from the 2nd floor. The move was night and day from the last local move we did about 10 years ago. Manny's crew was highly competent and professional. I hope I get a chance to repay them with a referral to a friend or colleague. Oh yeah, and the price was fair too. Not the cheapest, but in line with another bid and I certainly felt like the little extra $ for the quality was worth it. read more

I used Manny for the second time and I wish I could say the experience was as good as the first. The crew and move went great both times. However, this second move was a shorter in town distance than the first with one less bedroom of furniture and less stairs. The first move had been 3 guys and the second was supposed to have 3 men as well. One had car trouble and so just 2 guys showed. They were great but took 3 hours longer due to the staffing issue. My second move was almost $100 MORE than my first. I asked Manny, as did both guys, to consider that this did not make sense, as I was being penalized for staffing issues. Less distance, less stairs, less items to be moved, but more expensive move? He insisted this was right. Even his staff seemed flabbergasted and of course, we knew it wasn't their fault either and tipped them well. Manny lost my future business and any recommendations due to inflexibility on basic customer service and frankly, lack of common sense accounting. read more
