Blue Point Toasted Lager with wonderful gate view!
    Chris W.

Thoroughly enjoyed lunch duringy 4 hour layover. The views of a parking gate and runway are phenominal! Highly recommend sitting at bar facing the plane traffic! They were out of two of the Blue Point beers, including the one that I wanted. My backup selection was the beer that got Blue Point started, their toasted lager. It was not bad, but nothing to write home about. Burger was superb! Ordered the Eiffel Burger which is served on an English muffin, and french onion soup for dipping!!! So good! Burger came with house chips. They were good but very little to no salt. Be sure to find a salt shaker.

    Mmm pretzel bun.

My recommendable pretzel bun burger and fries were good- just expensive. It's the airport/theme park/concert/stadium surcharge. It wasn't the worse thing in JFK. That would be Marilyn Monroe's finger. I appreciate the plugs and USB ports near the bar seats. Ordering and paying through the QR code was impersonal and impractical. But I guess it kept me from ordering another $18 drink.

Sitting in the airport is never easy. I was walking around and decided to try this place out. Got several hours before my next flight. I sat down with my wife and ordered. The beer is good, and the food was good. I got the Kim's Chee

Scan code, order & pay at the table. Bar in jfk airport so expensive. Was across from our gate so convenient.

Shared a Big Chewy's nachos with the wife here, because we didn't want to get too full before our flight, but at the same time we wanted to still have something in our stomach. The QR code on the table didn't work, but they did have a waiter that came through to take our orders. The nachos were alright. I wouldn't say it's special at all. The cheese reminded me high school cheese fries and the pico de Gallo felt like it just came out of a package. I think you could possibly make it better, but then again it's airport food. I don't think it was worth the price of what they offered, but again it's whatever right? You're not going to get a gourmet meal in the airport. Blue/Point looked like a place where you can get beer and alcohol before your flight and offered some overpriced food. The table next to us got two steak salads and two glasses of wine and spent over $70. All in all, it was alright. Nothing special, but if you want to have a sit down restaurant and don't want to go far from your gate you're going to pay for convenience. And for the airport, that's all you can do sometimes.

Much like every other bar in this airport, all the items are ludicrously expensive. Nonetheless, decided to while away some time here before the flight. Based on reviews, was definitely not going to order food. Settled instead on their pint of Hoptical Illusion IPA ($13ish). Again, obviously expensive, but decent overall beer with hops and malty aftertaste. Overall service is okay as multiple bartenders take care of the entire establishment. Again, not the most affordable place to stop, but grading on a curve here.

Seat yourself, scan the QR code on the table, place and order and pay. Easy right? Only if the link that the QR code redirects to works. All it shows is the table number. We found some menus ourselves and someone came up to take our order. We had the nachos. I guess it met expectations of brewery food at an airport.

Beer ($12) and blue cheese burger ($24)

It is a bit pricey, but all foof places in the airport are. However, is not crowded as other places and the food much better. Each table has a bar code to order and pay. I order a beer ($12), and a blue cheese burger ($24) . Ambiance was quiet, no kids or families.

For those of you that know me, you know I'm at Blue Point at least once a week. I was very happy and surprised when I saw that well known Blue Point logo right in front of my gate! Located right in front of gate B34 in terminal 4 at JFK. 4 Blue Point beers on tap as of 10/27/21: hoptical illusion, spectral haze, imperial sunshine and toasted lager. Other beers are offered on tap, so it isn't strictly Blue Point only beers. Canned beers offered as well. Hard liquor is also available. Food menu is limited, but something for everyone. Chicken, steak, salads, and some appetizers. Prices are a little expensive, but reasonable for an airport bar. I ordered a Toasted Lager and Korean chicken tenders. For both it cost $21+tip. The chicken tenders had good flavor. Service is just okay. The bartender didn't have much knowledge of the Blue Point brand nor has she even been to the brewery. Overall it was a good place to grab a bite and a brew before my flight.

Bottom of the bag. No salsa. Just crap coming out of that kitchen. Don't get me started on the Buffalo tenders. This place is nasty!

Seriously terrible. Nachos came from the bottom of the bag. Just nasty all round. Buffalo tenders require a knife to cut....almost broke my plastic knife. Avoid!!!

The space itself is intimate, fairly small but utilized well. Bench tables and bar seating with a TV, fake fireplace, and a throwback arcade game. The bartender was so friendly and welcoming. Dark but not in a pretentious way. When we went on a Saturday afternoon, it was essentially just us and a few isolated people at the bar. We played a board game we had brought and had a great time. The beers themselves were not my favorite. There is a good variety and the prices are super agreeable, but I wasn't really thrilled by any of the IPA choices specifically. Probably just me. My biggest gripe with the place, however, is the music. I appreciate that this is super dependent on who is working but for a darkly lit brewery, I wouldn't have chosen the classic/elevator/slow music that was playing overhead. Parking is super easy. Also, I am very curious in their connection to the leather making studio next door and would be interested in the pop-ups that happen here once monthly!

SingleCut Beersmiths is a craft brewery that opened in Astoria, Queens, New York in December 2012…read more It was founded by Rich Buceta. The Queens native began homebrewing in his apartment in 2004 and eventually was hired to work at the now defunct Greenpoint Beer Works in Brooklyn. A huge music fan, Buceta decided to combine his passion for craft beer and music and open his own brewery. In order to finance his dream, Buceta sold off his collection of vintage guitars. When the brewery finally opened, it was the first production brewery to open in Queens since Prohibition. The name "Singlecut" was chosen in reference to the luthier term for a guitar that is crafted with a single cutaway, or a notch cut into the body of the instrument on one side to provide easier access to the upper frets. SingleCut quickly became a popular New York brewery and by 2017 it had reached capacity. In 2018, the brewery purchased the former Shmaltz Brewing Company facility in Clifton Park. Dubbed "SingleCut North", the secondary taproom fully opened to the public in September 2019. A third taproom, dubbed "SingleCut Barn & Lodge", fully opened in Manlius in April 2023. I visited SingleCut Beersmiths this past summer while I was cycling around NYC. I was trying out a number of Brooklyn and Queens breweries and pizzerias and this was my fifth stop of the day. The taproom in Astoria is spacious and inviting. I really liked the back room which was loaded with a nice selection of pinball machines. I pulled up a seat at the bar. There's a big stack of vinyl records on shelves and the staff were spinning a great selection of tunes during my visit. Throughout my visit, I enjoyed short pours of "18-Watt" (Session IPA), "Big In Japan" (DDH IPA), "Full Stack" (Double IPA), and "Heavy Boots of Lead" (Imperial Stout). Every single beer that I tried was fantastic! Great craft beer, vinyl and pinball?! I could have spent all day here! I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to SingleCut and I hope to be back!

When we left, there was a chaotic stroller party happening in the back. The brewery filled up pretty quick on a Saturday afternoon, with one slow moving angry woman pouring beers, it took awhile to get a beer. If the woman behind the bar had provided better customer service, I might have left a higher scoring review. I really wanted to like this place. Will I be back, probably not.

This place has everything, attentive service, great beer, and great food. I find that sometimes the beer offerings at various breweries get a bit stale --- it's almost always the same stuff. Keg & Lantern is going to have all your favorite, but they just seem better executed. My go-to first beer is the Soprano. A great crisp Italian pilsner After that, it's off to the races with a high abv hazy ipa. The food here is also great. In particular, I love their fish and chips. For drinks, I ordered a pint of the creamsicle beer, which didn't really taste like the ice cream. Since they're known for their wings, I ordered the Yakitori wings and Buffalo wings. Both were good.
