I came here with a big group of friends to celebrate my birthday. I believe you can contact KCBC to reserve a large table in advance, but we just showed up and hoped for the best. There are picnic tables, high tops with stools, and bar seats. It's pretty big and was the perfect space for around 15 of us to casually gather. They had quite a few beers on tap. I tried one of the sours and a black Pilsner and both were good. The bartenders were pretty nice, too. read more

We stopped by during the early hours of the Bushwick Collective Block Party this year. They offer inside and outside seating. It was a nice day so we opted for outside. Heads up: the tables are rickety. Super cool art work. Lots of bathrooms. Staff were nice. My husband thought the beer was good. Wish they offered food. read more

This place rocks! Tried the weird squirrels IPA because the bartender said they'd just gotten it in, very interesting flavor and a nice counterpoint to the pop-up tacos (totally delicious) they have some Fridays and Satudays. Lovely light-filled space in the early evening, plenty of seating, they were screening a brewing awards ceremony and had a free tarot reading with beer purchase. It seems like there's a lot of exciting stuff going on here each day, a must if you're on the way to a show or looking for a chill happy hour. read more

Kings County Brewers Collective (KCBC) is a Brooklyn-based brewery that produces a wide variety of beers, including IPAs, sours, pale ales, and barrel-aged lagers. They have a nice variety on their tap list ranging all the styles. KCBC is known for its colorful can art, quirky beer names, and consistent hits. They also collaborate with artists, musicians, restaurants, and other breweries. KCBC beers are available at their taproom in Bushwick, as well as in bars, restaurants, and stores across New York State and other states. While there, I had a variety of small pours. Notorious BRD: A German Pilsner brewed with German Pils Malt and a heavy hopping of Tettanagner, Hallertau, and NY Grown 032 Experimental Hops. New Squids On the Block: A New England Style IPA Squeezy Street: A Sour Belgian Blonde aged 18 Months in French Oak with Wild Yeasts and Colombian Yellow Peaches. Year 8: A Pastry Stout consisting of a blend of Stout aged 24 months in Willet Rye Barrels and Stout aged 36 Months in Widow Jane Bourbon Barrels. Then it was conditioned on Organic Cacao Nibs from Ecuador, Espresso Roasted Bourbon Aji Coffee Beans from Columbia, Marshmallow, and Graham Cracker. Kings County Brewers Collective is a craft brewery that opened in Brooklyn, New York in July 2016. It was founded by friends and business partners Zack Kinney, Tony Bellis and Pete Lengyel. The trio met through a New York City homebrewing club in 2015. Although they came from different backgrounds, they had a shared dream of brewing beer as a collective. They eventually acquired a 5,000-square-foot former auto body shop in Brooklyn's Bushwick neighborhood. The brewery's opening marked the first brick-and-mortar brewery in Bushwick in 40 years. The neighborhood was once home to a thriving beer-drinking German immigrant community. At its peak, Bushwick was home to 14 breweries within a 14 block area. Following the New York State hop blight and Prohibition, the last of the Bushwick breweries (Rheingold and Schaefer) closed in 1976. KCBC often uses humorous names for their beers; often inspired by films and featuring the unmistakable artwork of former comic book illustrator Earl Holloway. The brewery's unofficial mascot is 'Sally the Octopus'. She first appeared on the can art for one of KCBC's IPAs and since then she has popped up on other cans, merchandise, and inside the taproom. I visited KCBC this past summer while I was cycling around NYC. I was trying out a number of Brooklyn breweries and pizzerias and this was my sixth and final stop of the day. I had first tried one of their beers at Tørst (a popular craft beer bar in nearby Greenpoint) and have been a fan ever since. The taproom was cozy and inviting, the staff were friendly, and Sally the Octopus could be seen anywhere you looked. I picked a seat at the bar and decided to order a taster flight which included "Child of Zombie" (Fruited Sour), "Squirrels Just Wanna Have Fun" (DDH New England IPA), "Dirty Prancing" (DDH Double IPA), and "The Darkness Beneath: Golden" (Rye Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout). Every single beer I tried was excellent, but I especially liked the latter. Overall I had an excellent experience at KCBC and I look forward to returning! read more

I've been trying KCBC beers ever since I moved to NYC (can even find them in local TJs now) and fell in love with their Superhero sidekick ale. When I found out their physical location was in Bushwick (near a lot of my favs in the area), I made it a point to stop on by to sample more of their beers. And boy, I made the right decision! It's a fun and spacious spot where the tasting room is in same building as brewery (and cannery?). They do flights and their beers are reasonably priced and fresh! Also looked like they had some stellar HH deals (particularly on their Superhero sidekick). Also easy to get to as it's just a couple blocks off the L, so will be back again soon! read more

We loved this place and it exceeded our expectations. We came in a not busy Saturday and gladly seated right away. I enjoyed the ambiance. Simple yet hip and chic. My husband enjoyed their draft beer selections. He had taken 2 glasses only but the first one he picked has 11% ipa , an imperial stout. He finds it really good and he highly recommended it. I enjoyed my flavored seltzer that is in a beer like can and the size is incredibly likable. There nothing much in the food menu but enough to satisfy my hunger. Service is exceptional, place is quite relaxing to get few drinks, few board games are available to use and the crowd is REALLY nice. A good spot to swing by when in the area. read more

My first time to visit this place. We just happen to be exploring this part of Brooklyn. Looking from the outside, this place seems to be a good place to have a little drink and eat. They offer indoor and outdoor seating, we opted to seat indoor. The atmosphere and the ambiance is hip, chic, cool and fun. I like that it is spacious, lots of tables and seats. The place was not packed at the time of our visit. They provide hand sanitizers on each table which is a biggie for me. Staff are very welcoming, accommodating and gracious. I was easily able to see their beer list on their big wall board. They have really cool names of their beer, even the salsa name is awesome. Me and my wife ordered a beer (Imperial stout), a seltzer (liquid death), chips and salsa (dreams aren't this good), downside is they just offer snacks, I was hungry at the time of our visit. I had a second beer which I happen to enjoy (sir wits a lot). The chips and salsa are of fair prices, their brews are bar prices, I was expecting that it was a little lower as it is a brewery. It is still a very good place to hang out. read more

Finally made my way here! I have loved their beer for years but never made my way here. The location itself is in a very fun area with lots of cool other bars and restaurants nearby so you're not stuck if you want to change things up. The inside is spacious with tons of seating and they play sporting events so a rare brewery in Brooklyn where it's good to watch a game. They allow outdoor food which is where all the cool restaurants come in even more clutch and their beer is fantastic. It's skewed toward IPAs but still have others for those who like variety. I also love their artwork, it's the best in the city in my opinion. So happy I finally got to go in person. It you can, grab something to eat at Nowon either before or after. read more

This is my favorite Brooklyn brewery, hands down. A lot of the time I bring first dates here because it's such a chill spot to drink and talk. Lively, but not too loud and there's lots of restaurants to walk to nearby. They don't sell food but you can bring your own and they have snacks as well. The taproom is really large and beautiful...think high ceilings, keg high top tables and floor to ceiling windows all around. I love that you can see the actual brewery through the windows behind the bar. The bartenders are all easy going and friendly - good conversation, attentive and make informed suggestions. POC approved, never had a weird moment or an empty glass! The beers change frequently so there's always something new to discover along with the OG offerings. It's very low key on weekdays but get crowded on the weekends, especially if you want to sit outside. If you don't wanna brave the crowds, they have cans to go too! Fun and super accommodating to our large group! We had no reservation (I don't even think you can make one) but KCBC was able to immediately seat our group of 15 at two outdoor tables. The atmosphere was fun and all the staff members were nice and welcoming! They even managed to get us inside, once it started raining pretty hard. KCBC doesn't have food (just snacks) but you can easily bring some from the food trucks nearby or Artichoke Pizza (or really any other nearby options). I've wanted to check this place out for a seriously long freaking time. I still would like to eventually come back to do a full flight experience. I was in the neighborhood for a 'come by when you can' yelp experience involving coffee at a little shop and decided to step in for a one and done. I've had plenty of KCBC beers over the years though and some are hits and misses for me. I'm not the biggest ipa fan but there are some that I do truly enjoy. KCBC is pretty heavily ipa focused but there have been a few gems over the years. I will say that when I came in there was a weird funky smell going on. It could be part of the barley and malts wafting around but it's not an appetizing smell particularly. It was super crowded though and I nuzzled up to the bar. All of their pours are 14 ounces or less which I guess is becoming more standard with breweries now and priced around $6-8. I went with immediately the Viking Roller Boogie (a double dry hopped ipa at 7.2%) without tasting anything. Rookie mistake to get a beer based off a name. But I saw tropical, citrus, and groovy in the description and being half Viking I felt it was my destiny. It was just o-kay. I then felt like I couldn't leave without trying something that wowed me so I got a 5 ounce pour of the Demons on the Dance Floor (Rye Barrel Aged Imperial Stout at 11%) and I was blown away. This is a grown up big girl pants beer and I'm here for it even in the dead of summer. There are also board games somewhere around. I saw people with connect four and outside food is welcome. It's a fun atmosphere. I'm just unsure if I would totally go out of my way to come back here often when there are amazing breweries closer to my apartment. read more

I've had several beers from KCBC over the last few months and at first I was a bit underwhelmed with what I had. Most of the beers were IPA's and while they were far from bad I just wasn't too impressed so I continued to keep an eye out for different beers other than IPA'S. My patience was rewarded. I had the Tik Tok fruited sour from KCBC and really liked it a lot. It became my favorite beer from this brewery so far. Despite being unsure with the IPA'S at first I really enjoy the concepts of beer can art puts out. Cans like Penguins From Planet X provide a humorous and comic book perspective to the marketing of their beer. I was happy to find out that KCBC has an online store where they ship their merchandise too! The fun art from the cans carries over to their shirts and I bought several to have shipped to me. I'll be keeping an eye on this online store for new releases because I love collecting brewery t shirts! read more

Big fan. BIIIIIIG FAN. After living in Brooklyn for about 3 months, I finally was able to check out this local spot that had been talked up by friends and colleagues in the area. Make no mistake, this place rocks and it is a lovely place to spend a weekend afternoon. You have to reserve a time to sit, but it's definitely worth whatever the wait is. The space itself is gorgeous and has so much light, should've brought cards! The beers are quite delicious, and while I'd love to review them all right now, I will generally say the imperials and the sours were our favorites. They were so nice too when we wanted to take some 4 packs to go. Looking forward to taking friends here when they can visit! read more

Have visited this place twice now ---- and have enjoyed a new aspect of it each time! The brewery is quite large, especially for NYC standards, and offers seating options of both indoors and outdoors for a nice day. The first time, I came with 2 friends and none of us were too familiar with breweries and so it was the perfect excuse to try the flight! The flight comes with 4 mini-glasses, and you're able to choose any flavors on their menu. We ended up two sets of the same order --- the Double Harmonic, and the other 3 were composed of the 2 different zombie variations (both sours.) All of the beers were very tasty, the bartender was super quick in getting it ready, and the portions were satisfying for 3 people looking to taste. Definitely enough to get a buzz. The second time I visited with a large group of people. We sat at a farther table, but a waitress immediately came over to offer help and grab orders. KCBC is such a solid brewery. I go to so many new and different breweries that sometimes, the beers just meld together in my mind. Most crafty spots are brewing quality, but I can't say there are many which stick out weeks after visiting them. An outlier to this? KCBC. I visited this Brooklyn beer-haven a couple weeks ago with my buddy and the tastes are still front and center in my cerebrum. Well, perhaps there's some other stuff I haven't forgotten about Kings County Brewers Collective. The setup is casual and mildly hipster (which makes sense for its Williamsburg location). It still feels like a legitimate brewery (barrels always do the trick) and is decent enough in space through tables, counter spots by the wall, and the actual bar (where we snagged a couple seats). Moreover, the beer names are somewhat unforgettable. Ride the Liger, This is Your Brain on Hops, Morbid Hour (with a 4.666% ABV), Penguins in Space, and Robot Fish are just some of the eclectically odd and comical beer titles. Now imagine if you will, some of those beers in cans. But like, legitimately-designed cans with amazing artwork almost as if you were looking at a comic book about superheroes and beer. Sound cool and memorable? Well one glance at a KCBC can and you won't soon forget what you just saw (hop brains are crazy!). Most importantly, beyond all this, is the beer. KCBC has some truly tasty concoctions that you'll be dreaming about days later. On my trip here I flighted it up and went with the first four aforementioned fermentations. Liger was a lovely, crisp Kolsch. Penguins, a session IPA, had perfection going on and was tough to beat in its subtle notes and flavor. Brain on Hops (an actual series of beers by KCBC) featured Amarillo and Galaxy as the two brewed hop choices for this round. I started out unsure if I liked it, but each sip had the bitterness and mildly piney aftertaste working well on my palate. Though I should be careful what I say as Morbid Hour might have held some kind of demonic presence over me (it's the ABV!) through the roasty flavor of its black pilsner style. This flight was unforgettable. It's important to also remember KCBC's heavy hand in collaboration. That satanic sud I just mentioned was a collab with Saint Vitus Bar. Bushwick Zombie was a tag team with Roberta's Pizza. They've even held hands with Oyster Bay Brewing Company to create a respectable IPL (not available when I was there, though I've downed a can in the past). Great things happen when we can all get along. Oh, might I add that Bushwick Zombie was another series for KCBC? A summer run of sours (all sporting zombie-type names) and each one delivering a uniquely tart and fruity finish. Just wondrous stuff through and through. Overall, KCBC should be on everyone's mind when it comes to beer. This is a brewery doing things right and one that knows how to create some solid suds both in and out of the can, on their own, or with their neighbors. It might just be a brewery with a bunch of letters, but once you're there, you won't soon forget them. read more

This used to be my favorite brewery in all of NYC but they've gone so far down hill that I will now avoid returning. The warm and kind bartenders have been replaced by people who ignore me sitting at the bar with an empty glass for 10 minutes, who pour me a glass that's half foam, and then charge me $27 for 1 beer and a flight of 4 short pours. (The menu says the half liter I got was $5 so that means the flight registered at $20 which is INSANE!) And to top it off, the diversity of their beer selection has gone off the cliff. It's all IPAs and pilseners, which is fine for the hipsters read more

Visited this place with my beer group and loved every minute of it. First of all, the beer is very good. They have a wide range of styles on tap so there is truly something for everyone. Prices are reasonable as well, which is not always the case in craft beer places. The space is nice too, although they could use some more communal tables. Service was quick and friendly and the bartender the night I was there was funny and friendly (and nice looking too). They sell snacks like popcorn but you can bring in your own food (the pizza place down the block does a booming business based on the slices I saw at KCBC) Would definitely go back here and even if I wasn't there, I'd drink the beer. read more

KCBC is a trio of experienced brewers who have joined forces to bring their shared vision of quality, variety and community to craft beer drinkers throughout New York City and beyond. They love working together, they love drinking together, and there super-duper excited to bring their fresh & flavorful beers to life here in Brooklyn. After several years of brewing in tiny apartments, at the American Brewers Guild in Vermont, and professionally at breweries across the city, they all independently came to the same conclusion: wouldn't it be FRICKIN' AWESOME to open a new brewery in NYC? Flash forward in time, and after various trials and tribulations (and many long drinking sessions together), they realized that if they combined their efforts, they could build a bigger, better, more bada$$ brewery than if they each tried to do it alone. And thus: Kings County Brewers Collective (KCBC) was officially born. Food: No food here but your more then welcome to bring your own food to pair with their awesome beer menu. Brew: They serve up some killler DDH beers and solid German Pilsners. They also do growler fills and cans to go. read more

Moderate-sized menu with 10-14oz pours of different types of beer. Started off with the "Superhero Sidekicks" ($6) - a nominal bitter IPA with hints of citrus. Also had the "Viking Roller Boogie" ($7) - a well rounded juicy bitter with lots more flavor. Not too much in regards to food, just a few bags of popcorn available.
