I went to this place with my colleagues on a Weekday for lunch. This place can be busy during lunch time as the space is not sufficient enough to occupy many customers. However, the food quality and taste are one of the best I have had in the bay area. As soon as we were seated, we got a complementary vegetarian soup which was served hot good to taste. You have an option to select each curry with either Tofu or Mixed Vegetables. We ordered the following: 1) Mango Curry: Ordered with Tofu. It was a delicious curry with large pieces of mango and tofu fused with gravy. It was amazing to taste. 2) Panang Curry: Ordered with mixed vegetables. The best of the lot, taste was jaw dropping. 3) Spicy Vegetarian Fried Rice: Medium spicy fried rice with vegetables served hot. 4) Pad Thai Noodles: Spicy and crispy noodles served hot with vegetables. Each curry comes with a small bowl of white (or) brown rice. Overall the food was very tasty and the place is worth going next time. They usually provide a discount coupon for visiting the next time. read more

Delicious food but slow service and place to small to eat there is better to take out

After months of waiting for this place to open, I was so excited to see it was finally opened yesterday! My excitement spilled into today, so I suggested this place for lunch to my mom. Setting: The place was empty when we came, but it was still early (11am) By the time we left it was about half full. I like the decor and clean look. We sat by the wall with the nice mural. They do however need to change the music selection. They had a Backstreet Boys CD playing while we were there. A little odd for a Thai place. Service: Wonderful! The waitress was quick and super friendly. She commented that she loved my moms glasses and laughed when we went "ooooooouuuuuuu" in unison when the food came out. I haven't had such friendly service in a long time. Presentation: Simple but elegant. I like the leafy shaped plate that our apps came out on. Food: Yummy! We were so anxious to try out this new place, we ordered way more then we should have but managed to eat most of it. I was sad they don't have roti here, but the sweet potato styk apps were to die for! Tempura sweet potato strings with sweet and sour dipping sauce. They sprinkle paprika on the top, so prepare to have orange fingers! Lots of napkins needed. Next we had the mango shrimp salad. We ordered it a level 3 (on a scale of 1-10 of spicy). It had a nice kick and citrus flavor, but I was expecting actual mango in it. I saw none =( For our main course we got the Blue Mango fried rice and the Spicy Garlic Chicken (also a 3). I LOVED the rice. Chicken with some sort of like BBQ pork on top. It was so good! The chicken was decent. Not spicy but very garlicky. The sauce had a weird texture though and the color isn't to appealing. Overall: Very good! And the best part, 20% off the total bill since it's their opening week!!!!!! YAY! First time was take out. Chicken Larb and papaya salad with prawns. The flavors were good, but the prawns were undercooked. I had to put them in the mircowave to get them firm, but they were huge and the spice factor was good for level 8. went there for lunch yesterday and it worked out quite well because most japanese places aren't open between 2-5 so we were able to get some rolls for lunch. BF said the prices are a little higher than regular sushi places, I didn't think so..it was roughly 3.75-ish for regular sushi. So we ordered the rolls instead and they were decently priced. Had dinner here tonight around 8 pm. More than half the restaurant was filled yet our waiter let us sit anywhere in room. The decor is nice, really modern compared your traditional thai restaurants. This location is owned by the same guy who owns the Blue Mango on Stevens Creek Blvd, btw. The main differences are the decor and the addition of a sushi bar. So far dinner we ordered some green curry with beef, a side of jasmine steamed rice, chicken sate appetizer, spicy tuna hand roll, oh wow sushi platter, a coke, thai iced tea, white chocolate banana wonton dessert and banana flambe. We ordered the curry to be the spiciest possible and it failed to meet expectation even though we sent it back once. They said their shipment of chilies weren't the greatest and apologized. Chicken sate was a little bland but the portion was generous, 5 large skewered pieces. Spicy tuna wasn't what the mushed up spicy tuna but rather finely chopped pieces, which was nice and a little more elegant. The sushi, which was for me wasn't as good as i thought it was going to be. it was about average. Pieces were of decent size, texture was okay which means the best time to eat sushi is during lunch. Overall everything was a little above average due to our desserts and service. All desserts looked tempting but the ones we ate were amazing. Presentation was beautiful and taste was on point. Aside our meal service here is good, the waiters were very attentive to our wants and needs. Drinks were constantly refilled and they even helped us in our dessert selection. I would come back to try other things on the menu like the curry curly fries and other desserts. Again this place was a little above average, very clean. read more

I just recently got back from out of the country and wanted something other than Vietnamese food, so my bf decided we should try something new and this was on my list of places I wanted to try. Normally fusion places are a-ok, but I actually liked this place more than I would have thought. Maybe because its not one of those places that are over hyped and not good. We ordered the curry fries as an appetizer. These are my two favorite things put together in one. Who would have thought of such a great idea! We also got the Mango curry, & sa-ku-ra roll. The sushi roll was pretty good but something was off that was making it really tangy but after you started chewing and letting the flavors mix, the roll was pretty tasty. Unfortunately I wasn't able to try the mango curry because I had to leave, but we ended up getting it to go. Service was OK we went on a Wednesday night. They only had one server for the whole restaurant. 3 people in the kitchen and 1 sushi roller. Overall the food was good and we're definitely coming back to try other things. read more

Eggplant stir fry with tofu - eggplant is good, tofu is not fresh, kinda like retried old tofu. Bell peppers were fresh, typical flavors - basically it was good minus the tofu. Summer love salad - has a mayo siracha based dressing, seaweed salad part is crunchier then normal. The sashimi chunks were ok, completely coated in this dressing (only part of the salad with dressing on it) so I couldn't really taste the fish itself, which makes me wonder if it was the freshest. Had just a taste, but the Scallops were cooked perfect in the prawn scallop curry. Curry itself was rather mild in flavor. Overall decent food and service, there'd just always be one thing that kind of fell short on each dish. Maybe they're trying to do too much in one place. The food was good but extremely overpriced for the quantity of food and the quantity of the more pricier ingredients. So not worth it!

This is extremely disappointing. I order the lemon ginger seabass for $22 bucks and this is how big of a portion it is. I thought for that price it would have been a decent size piece of fish to share family style. Also the tom yum soup I ordered a "pot" which cost $13 and it they couldn't even fill it to the top. Does this look like a $13 dollar pot of tom yum? Mind you I'm a 5 foot, 100 lb gal so check out the photo compared to my hand for what I mean when I say these portions are extremely small. The other items I order.. panang curry, crab fried rice, and mushroom mountain. Portion sizes are small but pricing was somewhat standard so I'm not bothered by those. My friend and I were confused when we walked in. It's Thai and sushi and Halloween all rolled up in one. My friend made a very interesting observation: aside from the 2 waitresses we were the only Asian customers, even the chefs behind the sushi bar were not Asian. The food was decent. We ordered red noodles which tasted right but not exceptional. We also ordered a summer love salad which reflected the confusing identity of this restaurant. It has seaweed and green lettuce with sashimi salmon, oranges, and mango pieces. We also ordered the Sakura roll, which sounded great on the menu but kind of under delivered on the promise. For dessert we ordered white chocolate banana wontons with pinapple coconut ice cream. This was the best course of our lunch. I'd give the food 4 stars. The service though could use a little improvement. They were not busy but it took kind of long to get our orders put in and for our food. This was the second time we came to this restaurant and it was my birthday. My husband hinted one of the waitress that it was my birthday and they did something extraordinary! They served a desert with candle and song a birthday song, they dint even charge for that! How sweet can it get! I don't have to speak for food! The food speaks for itself! Their Mango Curry with Tofu is delicious! Good portions and very flavorful. They ARE open for takeout during this COVID-19 situation. It is a bit on the pricey side - $15-$20 per dish. But again their specialty Mango Curry is worth it. read more

We first stumbled upon Blue Mango about 3 years ago when we moved into the dt area and it's been our go-to Thai spot ever since. Plus as an added bonus, they offer sushi too! We mostly go for the Thai dishes and what keeps us coming back is the consistency and quality of their dishes. I don't think I've ever had something I didn't like here. These days it's pick up only, and wait times are never too long and the food is always ready on time. The staff members are super nice too! Thanks Blue Mango!! Yeah...... I hate leaving negative reviews, but this is pretty bad. I know it impacts the business, but I just hope my post can serve as constructive feedback. This is my second and probably last time here. Pad see ew: bland, overcooked rice noodles. No color on the noodles. Rubbery, pale, unseasoned chicken. They're obviously lacking at least 2 tablespoons of dark/regular soy sauce, 1 tbsp fish sauce and a couple of teaspoons of fish sauce. And some sugar. Yeah. No this isn't pad see ew. A good pad see ew will have a brown color to the noodles with some slight charring of the sugar and soy sauce for added flavor. 1/5 Pad kee Mao: nah. Same issue with the noodles and chicken. Lacking seasoning. There is a good amount of basil, so there's that. 2/5 The sushi was okay. Just okay. 3/5 To sum it up: season your food. Don't overcook the noodles. And this was a waste of $60, time, and a precious meal. Disappointing. read more

I love this place!! It has a nice casual and relaxing atmosphere, and the food is great! Some of my favorites are Cream Cheese Won Ton's, Sizzling Seafood Feast, and Lemon Ginger Seabass. Won ton's have cheese slightly melted and crispy shell, the Seafood Feast is served steaming, and the seabass cooked perfectly. Be sure to a side of coconut rice. I ordered this on a whim because I was back home for the holidays. I picked this over several other seemingly over-priced thai places. I ordered a starter and an entree, plus rice as a side order (because apparently rice doesn't come with a main). I got the the eggplant stirfy with chicken, plus rice. As a starter I got the "sweet potato spicy stix" which are sweet potato fries. Everything tasted like it had been sitting out for 3 hours - eggplant was wet and the chicken was tough. Food was OK. I came here because I was craving Thai food and just did a Target run in the Coleman Plaza. Ordered the pad see ew with pork. Although it did come with a lot of protein, the overall flavor was pretty bland. The restaurant itself was pretty dead (there was only one other party seated and eating at 6:00pm on a Thursday), and the servers were in "chill" mode. Didn't mind at all-- I just wanted a quick bite and I wasn't in a rush for anything, but I can definitely see an impatient person get upset at their speed of service. Was it worth $13+ tip? Ugh I really wanted to like this place because I love Thai food, live close by, and pass by it all the time. Upon walking up to the restaurant, I was excited because it looked quite full, which is usually a good sign that the food is good. However my friend and I had to wait about 15 minutes to be greeted, let alone seated, when there were very obviously empty and available tables and like 3 waiters and waitresses milling about. We finally got seated and handed menus. Then, we had to wait even longer for anyone to come up to us to take our order. I got the pad Thai with prawn and my friend got the spicy fried rice. The pad Thai was blah. It wasn't bad, but it was kind of bland and I've had much better pad Thai from other places. My friends spicy fried rice was pretty good and had a good spice level (a 3 out of 10). I also got a Thai iced tea, which tasted very watered down. Once we finished eating, we waited what felt like forever for someone to come check on us. We were going to order dessert but we literally waited so long that we got frustrated and just asked for the check. Had lunch here today. Had the pad se wo. Unfortunately was a little burned. The Yellow Curry was well down with a generous portion of meat accompanying it. Also had a Lion Roll which was also very good. But what was really cool is that they were able to accomodate a request for iced green tea by putting the tea bags in a commuter mug which i was able to pour over ice. Mango Prawn Stir fry had a perfect combination of sweet, spicy and tangy flavors, if your not a cashew fan ask the dish minus the cashews, Titanic Roll(Speciality rolls) was superb along with the Unagi sauce severed as garnishing over the roll, they mention spicy tuna in the roll but the overall taste for spice was a 2/10 but overall it tasted good. Try their chicken coconut soup highly recommended , the bowl is good for 2 people.The soup actually plays with your taste buds, For our entire food we asked for a spice level 7, If your not into eating spicy a 5 or 6 are fine! More like a 3.5 Ordered a take out yellow curry. I was given the choice of spiciness level, from a 1-10. I LOVE spicy food and I know Thai food can get real spicy so I opted for a level 8. Here I am now, wanting to love the curry but SO disappointed because it's not spicy at all. Like NOTHING. I was told that the spices they purchased was not that spicy this time around .. but if that's the case, the chef should know to add more to make it a true level 8 right? I mean, it doesn't even taste like a level 1, lol. It's really sad because the yellow curry is SO GOOD but just no kick at all .. :( I would order again next time because like I said, the curry is good. We ordered, sushi, mango curry and pai Thai tofu.. well, you he sushi was ehh (had better).. the pai thai tofu was eww gross!!! (Had way better).. the mango curry was actually good really yummy!!! I recently went here for a christmas dinner with my friends. We ordered chicken pad se ew, their house fried rice, beef panang curry, tom ka soup, and eggplant tofu stir fry. Everything was very delicious but the one dish that stood out to me was the eggplant and tofu. The sauce was so savory, garlicky, full of soy for that umami like flavor. Every time I ate a piece of tofu it gushed with sauce and it was just so damn delicious. I'm sad the reviews for this place is so low. I suggest coming here for thai food! This review is for delivery. We ordered their pad thai, curry level 7. Curry was definitely not a 7/10, and their pad thai is missing something, not sure what, but definitely not the authentic pad thai flavor. We also ordered a sushi roll, and when it got to us, it is completely turned over and messed up. I mean, I understand it could have been the problem of the deliver service, but even the box that they used seemed to be WAY too big for this one particular roll.
