A beautiful establishment that cares just as much about its aesthetics as its food and beverages. I truly loved what we got: a classic, pad thai, and a garlic black pepper chicken dish with flavorful mushrooms, served with a side of steamed rice. It was honestly SO yummy, and I was a huge fan of their beverage options as well! My friend and I opted to get a classic Thai iced tea and a Thai lemon iced tea. Both were so so tasty! The food was amazing! I loved every dish I tried and the Thai lemonade was so refreshing. One thing I learned was that the spicy peppers were at the bottom of the chicken pf the Khao Mok Gai Chicken dish. So I recommend mixing it up before eating otherwise you'll have a concentration of super spicy peppers at the end. The decorations of the place is so cute. The waitress was nice and great at making sure everything was in order. I highly recommend checking out this place and trying something new outside your usual Thai food order. read more

We are seated along the half booth. No menu, it's pretty busy for a Sunday. Took a few minutes to get menus. A while longer to order. Ordered fresh mango juice, fresh rolls mango, Thai papaya salad (medium plus), pad Thai curry with chicken and drunken noodle with chicken. $65.50 The mango fresh rolls are fresh, packed with lettuce and bits of mango, it's good, but not super filling. The papaya salad is good, not too fishy, the sauce. No mango juice, apps are consumed and done. The mango is finally out with our meal. The mango juice is not fresh, out of a bottle or carton. The curry pad Thai flavor is good, but the noodles were quite soggy and overcooked. Not chewy as they had hoped. The curry pad Thai amount of veggies was a bit skimpy. Service is so-so. this place has a cute ambiance, this is my husband and eyes second time coming to this location. The first time we came here we absolutely love the food. It was really good. We got drunken noodles and couple other things. However, the food was really amazing. Our second time coming here it was decent as well however, Sweden sour pad Thai kind of failed to impress this time as I do think there should've been more chicken in it and it was lacking something. The garlic rice was decent as well however, the garlic flavoring was very much so pronounced Daphne packs a garlicky punch. we also ordered the dumplings for appetizers. They were steamed personally. My husband and I did not like it at all... Overall, good place I do think that they need a little bit more improvement on the specific thing that we ordered . I very much enjoyed my meal from Blue Mango. Starting with tofu fresh rolls: tasted great but the tofu was fried. I would have preferred steamed but wasn't given an option - next time I'll ask for steamed. I feel that the fresh rolls are missing a flavor - maybe mint? Delicious either way. The peanut dipping sauce is phenomenal! The panaeng curry is delicious! Also ordered tofu and it came fried. I prefer steamed because it soaks up the flavor but again, I'll specify next time. Tons of tofu. This $17 meal is definitely enough to feed two! The curry flavor is amazing. It's quite spicy. The online menu says it's medium, but since I was given an option I ordered mild, but I think it came medium any way. I like spicy but just a warning for those who can't handle ;) lots of veggies and rice on the side. I ordered for delivery. It was estimated 20-50 minutes, it came in 54 minutes on a Wednesday evening. The driver was super nice. Be prepared for extremely long wait times. Our party of 3 went for dinner and we have to wait almost an hour for our food to arrive. They brought out each person's entree at different times, which made it awkward for some people to eat while ours just waited around. In my option the portions were a bit too small for the price. I've had some pleasant meals here, but also the worst Thai food dish I've ever had. It's a lovely atmosphere and the service is very friendly and pleasant. I like that the lunch comes with a little salad and a small soup both of which are pretty good. I've enjoyed all the stirfry foods I've gotten. I only have gotten chicken. I have to say, but I got the pad see ew one time and it was absolutely inedible. The noodles were limp and soggy. It was drowning in some weird sweet sauce. It was truly horrible. I guess the chicken in it was OK and I ate most of the chicken. I think it was apparent to the server that I was unhappy, but perhaps they are accustomed to people really not liking this meal so she ignored it I think :) I wouldn't go back because Royal Oak has several Thai restaurants and 2/3 of them are superior to this one I feel. read more

Hands down, the best Thai food I've eaten in Michigan. We were sat right away at a super cute four top. Service was impeccable, and the food was spectacular. We started with tofu spring rolls and fried tofu. The fried tofu was crispy on the outside and melt in your mouth silky goodness on the inside. The spring rolls were balanced and enjoyable. Then the main dishes came out. I got the Thai fried rice with tofu and it was wonderful. Perfect amount of vegetables and tofu to rice ratio. Everyone at the table enjoyed every bite of food they had, from the peanut curry to the garlic fried rice to the pad broccoli. Seriously good eats for sure! And the staff were excellent. Space looks lively, modern and pretty, overall taste for the price point is subpar at best. Would NOT return here to eat Thai food. It is not authentic Thai or even taste that great. Don't bring the friends or dates if they even remotely appreciate good Thai food. Service is generally good around 4/5. The folks are pleasant and nice with serving us our drinks during a busy Saturday. The napkin folding is pretty cute. They hurried us out to accommodate a larger party. Food quality 2/5 - The only good one was the shrimp roll that tasted like those bulk rolls that you buy and just pour in typical sauce that is nothing outstanding. - The Shrimp Rolls 5 Piece which was deep fried shrimp and ground chicken wrapped accompanied with sweet chili sauce. If you told me they got it store bought and just re-heated it I can believe you. It was nothing special. - The shrimp pad thai is not taste good - it looks so sad and did not have much flavor at all. Frankly did not taste good. I left about 80% of it on the plate. - The Tom Yum soup did not taste even remotely close to what a Tom Yum should taste like. Really lacking in flavor. - Tom Kha Soup also didn't taste like what a tom kha soup should even taste like. - Mango Sticky Rice was disgusting - the mango does not taste good at all and the rice was tasteless. - Hot jasmine tea, this is served in a nice look pot and tasted alright. - Ice coffee - wouldn't get it again. They give a bad name to authentic and even Americanized Thai food. I hope they take a hard look at their food flavors. we ordered the pad thai curry and the peanut noodle. it was honestly hard to eat and we did not want to eat our leftovers. the portion was huge but like so bad. i've never had a thai noodle where the noodles were put in the container dry and then the sauce put on top of it. i feel like it's all supposed to be stir fried together? that's at least the only way i've had thai noodles. they gave us an insane amount of noodles and hardly any of the sauce and chicken. it was so dry and weird. the other dish had 70% vegetables that were hardly cooked and hard and not good. weird vibes. idk if the person forgot to cook or mix the dishes or if this is how they serve their food? also the crab rangoon was literally just cream cheese. i don't think there was anything else in it at all. they also didn't give us a sauce for the crab rangoon. read more

Such a cute new addition to downtown Royal Oak! Faux living wall, comfy benches, cute plushies welcomed us in on a chilly Monday night. We decided to give Blue Mango a shot because our usual spot is closed Mondays. Boy am I glad we did! Service was stellar, the waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and my water glass never went dry. The fresh rolls were so tasty and the portions on the mains were large enough I had leftovers for lunch the next day. Quite a few meal options I haven't seen other spots. Music seemed to be on a short loop but no complaints besides that and it's so minor I'm not gonna dock a star. Will return! read more

I recently visited Blue Mango in Royal Oak and had a disappointing experience. The food itself was decent, but what really left a bad impression was the billing. A 20% gratuity was automatically added to our check without any clear notice beforehand--no mention from the server and nothing obvious on the menu. I don't mind tipping at all, but it should be transparent. Adding a mandatory charge without clearly informing customers feels misleading and takes away from the overall dining experience. It also puts customers in an awkward position when paying. Good service includes honesty and clear communication, and unfortunately that was missing here. My wife and I stopped into this place for lunch. It was empty at the time so it was quiet. The seating arrangement was typical for the size and the decor was eclectic. My wife has some allergies and the server put serious effort into making sure she didn't ingest anything she was allergic to. We ordered lunch specials that came with soup and salad as well as some of their signature lemonades and teas. The drinks were a little too sweet, but delicious. My wife had Bangkok chicken, which we both liked. I had drunken noodles, which is what I get everywhere. It was good. My wife ordered a side of fried rice and it had a weird smell. It could've just been the oil they cooked it in, but it wasn't for us. The white rice was just fine. We definitely plan on revisiting and even ordering take out.
