    Drunken Noodle Dinner
    Jennifer B.

This is our go to spot for lunch. Conveniently located on 16 mile, plenty of parking, open early at 11am, and great food. Macy is our favorite server here. She is cheerful, thoughtful, and knows the menu well. She knows the ingredients in the meals and always makes adjustments for me as a plant based eater. I usually get the drunken noodles or a curry dish with tofu. Their lychee and passionfruit tea are sweet, but yummy.

Stopped in on a weekday around 7pm. Place was semi full, but I was seated right away and my server was great! She was very attentive and helped me pick out a curry. She brought our shrimp chips and water to start and the my soup and pop. I ordered the red curry, added coconut milk and eggplant with steamed tofu. It was delicious! Dish came out piping hot and very tasty. Ambiance is nice as well. It's one of the nicer Thai restaurants in the are

Our group visited Sy Thai following mass on Christmas Eve. We were treated with prompt wonderful friendly service for a group of eight. Potstickers and fried rice were enjoyable appetizers of many choices. I ate everything on my plate of the seafood combination in brown sauce that I enjoyed.

I love the complimentary soup and shrimp chips they serve when you dine in. The Red Snapper Curry Fish is phenomenal! 10/10!! I enjoy everything I tried on menu except for their Pad Thai. I ordered it once for carryout and it was horrible. It was extremely salty and all the noodles were clumped together because there wasn't enough sauce. I'm so glad that I gave them another chance because the curries and appetizers have never disappointed me. Service here is attentive even when it's crowded and the food always comes out piping hot. Portions are generous and you always will have leftovers. Gluten Free and vegan options are clearly marked on the menu to make ordering easy for those with dietary restrictions. My only complaints are they don't serve papaya salad and spice levels can be inconsistent. I recommend ordering a lower spice level than you normally would. It's one of the few Thai restaurants that I know of in Troy that have that serve alcohol. I took a snap shot of their unique cocktail list below. If you still have room at the end of your meal try the mango or coconut ice cream! It's delicious!

Came here on a late Saturday evening. , there were a few diners. I ordered the egg noodles with chicken medium spice and a rice dish with Brown sauce with water chestnuts (forgotten name - pad prik?). Both tasted pretty good. The spice was not overpowering at all.Medium spice did not taste spicy. So I had to ask for extra hot sauce which they honored. In terms of quantity and value, they don't give too much for the price they charge, which is usually $16 to 17$ to $18, depending on the protein that you get. As you can see, the egg noodles, there is barely any chicken. In terms of the service, it was not good. My waitress came back to my table and asked if I was ready multiple times when she found out that I had a question or asked about a menu item, she immediately left saying she'll give me more time. She seemed annoyed. And did not have the patience to answer my questions. Quantity was reasonable. But you do pay the price for it, so value was average. They do allow for preferences and customization, such as no M s g or light sauce or light sodium. I might just get takeout next time.

I ordered the Pad Thai Dinner (beef and mild), Sy's Fried Rice Dinner, and Thai Iced Tea food for delivery and everything came including the utensils and straw. Everything tasted good especially the curry rice!

    Pad Thai lunch ($13)

Ordered for lunch yesterday and got the pad Thai with chicken. Lunch is $13 and dinner is $16.50. It's not clear from the menu whether the lunch size is smaller or just discounted, but the portion was plenty big and could even be shared if you're not that hungry. Noodles were good and I liked the sauce. You can choose your spice level and I opted for mild+ (I have a good spice tolerance, I just don't like my pad Thai to have too much heat). There was a minimal kick and I would say mild+ was accurate. The chicken was tender but something was off about it. It was almost as if it had been boiled and thrown into the pad Thai after instead of being cooked with it. It was very pale and again, just kinda missing flavor. There was a decent amount of it in the dish, though, they certainly weren't stingy with the protein. I would order again but I'd probably get the beef or veggie/tofu.

This visit was disappointing. A pork noodle dish didn't have pork but chicken. The pad prik dish was supposed to be medium hot but it was much hotter. Our wait staff must have had something else going on because she disappeared. We waited for a water refill. I got up to get help so we could cash out. The restaurant wasn't closing and it wasn't busy either. We will be back but it might take a while. A noodle dish with chicken instead of pork is not shown.

I've been here a couple times, but only ever get the fried rice and crab Rangoon's. All the waiters are so nice and attentive. If you can't handle spice, I would not order spicy fried rice. I really like the crab Rangoon's.

I have passed this place so many times and we finally found an occasion to visit. It was pretty enjoyable. The restaurant is fairly modern, and has a nice dining room. We started with the soup. Even though there were three of us they only have us two to go with the entrees. Most places give each diner a soup knowing that entrees are large and will be shared. It was cabbage soup. It was tasty, but unusual for me. I have never had this type of soup at a Thai place but it was good, nice tender cabbage. We tried the crispy shrimp appetizer. I enjoyed it, the shrimp was crispy and my child really loved their plum sauce a lot and would love to return and have more. We tried their Sy fried rice with curry and pineapple. It was a heaping portion and very delicious. I loved the cashews, tomatoes, and all of the items put in this rice. I would definitely order this dish again. I also tried their Thai iced tea. It was yummy and the glass latest me the entire meal, which is good. So their portion sizes, even for the drinks seem generous. We also got the Pad Thai. It was good. My husband did not like it as much as our usual places, maybe lacked a bit of flavor, and was not as warm as he would have like it. I would perhaps try a different noodle dish. The service was fine. The people were very friendly. The prices were okay, a bit more than some places, but I found the portions enough to feed three people and still have leftovers for a couple more meals. It was a nice night out.

See Iew made vegan with tofu

I wanted to try this place for a whileand I'm glad I finally did. The inside looks very elegant and they also have a nice outdoor sitting area which of course we opted for considering warm summer afternoon. Our server was Lasanee and she was very nice and welcoming. We got complimentary chips which I couldn't eat (not vegan) and we also got soup which I was told is vegan. Was served with tofu. The menu has a lot of different items and is was very difficult to chose one, but we both went with noodles. I got See Iew with tofu, no egg, made vegan and hubby got their Pad Thai with shrimp. I really like that they have indication on the menu that they can make some dishes vegan upon request. We chose medium and it truly was at the end spectrum of medium. It felt almost to spicy so be aware of that. Where I normally go with medium in Thai places I think I will go with mild plus next time here. Both dishes were delicious and we had some leftovers for next day. They also have few Asian beers, so we tried one and it was very good. I'll definetly be back to try some of their other dishes and curries.

I also got spring rolls and hot and sour soup, both of which were pretty good. The chef Ta was so nice, she heard I never had Gra Pow Moo Krob and wanted to know what I thought of it. She explained that it's a popular street food in Thailand, people go up to the carts and eat this specific dish. I thought it was such a nice touch that she wanted to check in with me as it was my first time dining there. I told her the Pad Prik Khing she made was the best I'd ever had, while the Gra Pow Moo Krob was definitely going on my list of favorite dishes. Second time here, my fiancé and I got N1 Chicken Pad Thai and T4 Khana Moo Krob (crispy pork with broccoli and kale) - both dishes were refreshing, light, and cooked perfectly. Each came with soup again but we switched out Hot and Sour for the Chicken Tom Yum, which was very good! Honestly, this had to be the best Pad Thai we've had here in Michigan. We gave our compliments to the chef as we finished our meal. The decorations are minimalist and I think the tables come from a Joe's Crab Shack - it's fun to read the blurbs on each one. If you're thinking of stopping by, save me a seat because I hope this restaurant becomes busy but not packed as I need my weekly fix!

To start, we got moo krob (deep fried pork belly) which is the Thai version of Chinese siu yook. I have to say, I like siu yook so much more - it's a lot more flavorful having been marinated with five spice and served with delicious sweet hoisin sauce for dipping. The pork here was bland and the sauce (fish sauce based) was pretty one note. For my entree, I got rad na (rice noodles with gravy, Chinese broccoli, carrots, and choice of meat - I got pork) which was one of the best I've ever had! They used fresh rice noodles and sautéed it properly to give it the "wok hei" (wok-seared flavor). The gravy was deep and flavorful and the portion size was very good. If everything else was as good as my entree, I'd give this restaurant 5 stars. Unfortunately, my mom's Kao mun gai (steamed chicken with rice and "special sauce") was awful. She asked if the dish had any spice because she can't do spicy, and the server said no, so she decided she'd try it. The chicken was way overcooked and dry, with no flavor at all. The sauce, the only thing providing flavor and moisture, was spicy so that she couldn't eat it. We asked if there was any sauce she could get instead that wasn't spicy, and they said no, but they can give us a bottle of soy sauce. So my mom used some of that, and also took some of my rad na gravy. But because the chicken was so dry and bland, it was beyond saving. My dad got the Thai basil fried rice, mild spice. It was definitely hotter than other Thai restaurants' mild, and my dad said the spice overwhelmed the other flavors. I tried some of it and it was not bad, but nothing remarkable. They told us that traditionally, it's served with the rice on the side, which was strange to me because then it's not fried rice - it's sautéed meat and veggies with rice on the side. I am curious about how some of the other dishes taste here, but it's a shame that 3/4 of the things we ordered were mediocre to downright bad. While I enjoyed my entree, I felt bad my parents didn't enjoy their food.
