Some pretty great deep dish outside of Chicago. They use a cornmeal crust which makes it authentic. In case anyone was wondering. The name of the chain is inspired from the El line running from O'Hare airport to the loop in Chicago. The food was great at this location but the service was sub par at best. We waited at the front of the restaurant for about 5 minutes before needing to flag someone down to get a seat. Getting the cheque took an extra long time too. Don't expect a super quick meal here. I came here to try deep dish pizza for the first time after seeing recommendations online. I got a large Chicago Chop, which I ordered online and picked it up. This might've been a mistake, since it wasn't that warm by the time I got home. However, their cashier was very nice, the pickup was quick and efficient, and they kept the pizza warm before we picked it up. They also offered chesse and chili flakes without asking for it. Again, I think it was my mistake that I didn't heat up the pizza enough before trying it. The sauce was very flavorful, and that was the forefront of the flavor. I couldn't really taste the meat toppings in every bite, but I could tell they were there. The crust was decent, with good crunch, though I think I would've liked a more "fried" flavor. I am in love with their tipsy pig pizza *insert heart eyed emoji* I been here a few times and tried a few different pizza but I'm here to tell you about the tipsy pig aka my all time favorite pizza from Blue Line. The tipsy pig has marinated pork, tequila lime crema, red onion, jalapeños, and cilantro. You can choose between thin crust or deep dish and I have tried both, but I prefer the tipsy pig with a thin crust. I have also tried the Chicago Chop and it was ok, it wasn't my favorite but we all have our preferences. The tipsy pig was my favorite and I'll only go back for that :) They have a few Blue Line Pizza locations (Los Gatos & Campbell), but this one is located at the end of Downtown Campbell. I've only come here one, but I know I'm coming back. I'm a sucker for deep dish pizza, and you can find several varieties offered here! If you can't decide on a flavor, you can always go half-half. I'm big on always asking for their "top 3 items" and usually go with it when trying new places. Our server ( regret not asking for his name) who was really nice & knowledgeable on the menu recommended the Chicago Chop & meatballs . He also recommended the "Grandma Style" crust as he described it to be underrated however, it's only available in a large. Unfortunately it was only 2 of us Friday night but knowing that, it for sure will have me going back with more friends . The pizza is great and so is the service. I am personally a fan of their Grandma's crust (ask about it!). The noise level could use some help though, and is why we don't go there more often. Finally got an opportunity to check-out Blue Line Pizza in Campbell. My cousin has been asking me to go with her, since she has a gluten allergy. Blue Line Offers a variety of crusts to include GF, a Corn Meal Deep Dish and a thin crust as well. Since this was our first visit here, we ordered a large Chicago Chop with a corn meal deep dish crust. This pie was filled loaded with toppings and it was quite filling. We also ordered a large BBQ Chicken with thin crust. The outside crust was a bit over cooked and the outside crust was beyond crispy. My cousin ordered a small Pesto Chicken with GF crust and enjoyed it. She said some of the chicken pieces were a bit dry, but the pie was filled with flavor. We arrived fairly early and that might have worked to our advantage. There is a very small parking lot next door to the restaurant, but the lot is shared with the neighboring businesses. I was able to snag the last open parking space and was really happy I did. Overall, the food was good and so was our service. The staff was friendly and courteous. read more

To put things into perspective, a large has 8 slices. My friend and I who normally consume 4-6 slice of a regular pizza each were only able to finish 5 in total. So yeah, it was worth!! Also, this pizza is unlike the other deep dishes. The crust isn't greasy, it's perfectly crispy and man oh man, the cheese pull is everything you would hope it would be. Update 4 years later: I've since had the "Blue Line" twice and I do not recommend it unless you cover it is pepper flakes and a balsamic glaze because it's flavorless, especially when compared to the wild mushroom pizza with truffle oil which is the best pizza west of downtown San Jose. You seriously have to take small bites if you're like me and you're not used to chewing because my dad would give my siblings and I popcorn, grapes, or other snacks in one bowl and I learned I had to race to get as much as I could in my mouth before my big brother and big sister ate it all. Point is: the cheese makes it chewy and filling. Under Covid conditions and less people, it's actually more enjoyable, especially if you can get a seat outside on a Fri/Sat night and the street musician is outside. read more

One of my go to restaurants when we go to the Campbell farmers market hosted every Sunday. It's been a few years since I've last visited here and not much as changed other than the contactless ordering system. You can order through their QR code and place individual orders. If you come with a larger party, it makes it convenient as each individual can place their own separate orders through their phone and it splits the bill automatically so you can pay for your portion of the bill once you're done eating. Let's start with the drinks. They have a full bar including liquor, beer and wine. Personally, I enjoy having a beer with my pizza and they had my favorite brewery - fieldworks on tap! My wife and I ordered a half mixed greens salad and a pizza (half, half, wild mushroom/Italian) The half mixed greens was a pretty sizeable salad being a half order. It was a standard salad experience - no complaints. I did enjoy the diced red peppers in the salad as that is not typically common in standard mixed green salads. It came with a lightly dressed balsamic dressing. The pizza was delicious. I started with the Italian and enjoyed it from the first bite. It had all the standard toppings that come in an Italian pizza but the tanginess from the pepperocini's elevated each bite. We opted for the thin crust and it was baked to perfection. It had a perfect crunch and most importantly held its formation with all the toppings on top. The wild mushroom pizza was great as well. The mozzarella cheese complemented by the truffle oil was a delicious combo. I personally enjoy mushrooms in my pizza and it was a delightful experience. I highly recommend coming here on a nice sunny day and enjoying the outdoor patio with some great pizza! read more

My first impression when reading it on the menu was "that's definitely different" so that was our choice. And upon delivery of the salad, it was definitely different. Zucchini ribbons seasoned just right and mixed with artichoke hearts, kalamata olives and feta cheese. It was a great adaptation of a Greek salad. Zeus the Greek God himself would've applauded. Now for the main reason for the visit and what my friend sold me on. Are you ready for it? Cornmeal pizza crust Chicago Style Deep Dish pizza. Let me just say, I thoroughly enjoy Deep Dish Pizza. But when you add cornmeal to the crust. Ahhhhh...WHAM. BAM. THANK YOU MAM! I now fear that I cannot eat any other pizza unless they offer the same type of crust. I am not a crust enthusiast (yeah yeah shame me later), but I devoured the entire flaky and tasty crust all up. Now the pizza options, Tipsy Pig and Chicago Chop were chosen because we couldn't decide. Oh my. My Dad doesn't eat pork or beef and said he doesn't like crust on pizza. We ordered the Chicken and Bacon minus the bacon. Our first bites, we both felt like the chicken was chewy. Like it had to be quick-thawwed. As we continued to eat, we both felt like the bites were getting better. The cheese, the white sauce and the rest if the toppings all came together nicely. My Dad ended up loving the crust! Felt like the young men working there didn't have much personality. Just kind of going through the motions. No enthusiasm at all! Our glasses of water had a smell to it. We asked for replacements, but those were not much better. I wasn't thrilled about about paying $3.00 for a 12oz can of A & W Rootbeer. After they closed, the young waiters made sure they dragged the metal chairs across the floor to encourage us to GET OUT! Overall, it's one of my favorite places, that is why I took my Dad there. This place is just so above and beyond on their pizza-crafting skills that it makes your head spin! I had ordered a Sml Deep Dish Pepperoni and Mushroom pizza and it was delivered via Doordash. The pizza did not disappoint at all and I was very satisfied for what it was, a veritable culinary masterpiece! The pizza consisted of real, fresh, Vine-ripened tomatoes w/ spices sitting on a bed of fresh mushrooms, fresh spicy pepperoni all resting atop the yummiest most delicious, buttery and decadent cornmeal crust you have ever had in a pizza. Words cannot describe the sheer joy this pizza is to a discerning person's discriminate palette! The authentic Italian flavors of basil and oregano are engaged in a dance to win your heart along with the subtle onion, garlic and slight taste of vinegar that makes up the absolutely divine sauce. The cornmeal crust is a decadent salty and buttery bomb of flavor that REALLY let's you know you are not eating healthy but splurging and treating yourself to something pleasurable. This pizza is an EXPERIENCE and not just " dinner " so it shouldn't be characterized as such. There is a reason why this place is a Bay Area institution because it is prepared and baked with pride by pizza makers who care about their craft. November 3, 2023 and about 6:30 pm we arrived for dinner. The outside dining are was fairly full, so we ate inside. Inside was at about 35% of capacity. We chose a table and a waitress came by quickly. She checked with the kitchen staff to insure the marina sauce and meatball contained no bell pepper. We ordered the meatballs (homemade all-beef meatballs, marinara, mozzarella and shaved parmesan). Delicious, but be aware they have a bite/spice kick to them). We also had a deep dish wild mushroom and white truffle oil pizza (seasonal mushrooms sautéed in garlic and white truffle oil with fresh mozzarella, fresh grated parmesan) and added sausage (wow, the added sausage was wonderful on the pizza). The music was loud enough that having a conversation was difficult, and by 7:15pm occupancy was about 50% and the dinning area was loud!! Our waitress was nice and polite, but overall, the service lagged. My cocktail arrived halfway through dinner, and I had to ask for my water to be refilled, and also double check your bill. The price charged for the cocktail was 25% more than the menu price. We will return, as the meatballs and pizza were the stars. The cocktail was surprisingly good too. read more

We got the mushroom truffle pizza which said it was meant for 4-5 people but we came as a group of 3 and it was just enough for us. The deep dish comes with 8 slices, I'm not sure about the thin crust. The pizza itself was extremely cheesy and there was a lot of cheese stretching when getting the slices. The pizza tasted amazing though and the crust on the deep dish had great texture. You can sit where you want and order by scanning the QR code.
