James is the best!! I came to James for the first time recently. I found James on Instagram and immediately loved his work. I had been looking for an artist to do some horror work to start my horror sleeve. I've been looking for the right artist for a long time to be honest. It is amazing how many artists are not able to do good horror tattoos. As soon as I saw the work that James does, I knew he was the one I wanted to do my work! I messaged him and we communicated via Instagram prior to the appointment. The deposit is $100 to reserve the day of the appointment. And I did have to wait a couple months, since he was booked out awhile. But it was worth the wait. I love my Ghostface tattoo! I also like that James is a horror fan too! Went for their Friday the 13th flash event. They are extremely unorganized. We walked in and put our names down at 6 and were told we could leave and come back and we would get a text when they were ready for us. We leave for an hour. We never got a text and they close at 8 so we go back at 7:45. Number one when we got in there we were ignored for about 30 minutes not a single acknowledgment until we spoke up. We asked if they could still take us today and he checked the list and said there were 4 people in front of us but since we're here they could take us. We were waiting for almost 3 hours. Best shop I've been at. Kevin was my artist and he spent time designing a piece that I liked. I plan on doing a leg sleeve with him. The shop was fun everyone was cool. They offered me food and water multiple times to make sure I was comfortable. The shop was clean and everything was sanitized or switched after being used. It was a long session and I'm glad I chose blue label. A lot of detail in my tattoo that's what he's best at. Definitely plan on spending money but it's worth the investment. I'll be back. read more

Let me start by saying this is a review of an artist, not the shop as a whole. I sat down for a consult with James Folz and got a consult done for a full sleeve after he was recommended to me by a friend who had a piece done by him. I scheduled out my first season and got it done, so far so good. Then when it came time for the second session, he cancels on my the day before the appointment, without any effort to reschedule another date. Finally I get him to respond and get the second session in the bag. These aren't small sessions, either. I'm talking full day sessions. Finally the last straw was booking the third session. The only way I had to communicate was through instagram, so I tried messaging over the course of 3 weeks, DMs, commenting on posts and stories. To no avail. Finally i had to go back through my messages and find the phone number attached to the Venmo account I sent my deposit to, luckily it was his cell. I get a "oh my bad I've been busy" response and finally set up a date for the second session. Then two weeks before the session he messages me and says we need to move it back a few more weeks. Fine. I'm a little pissed but I want to get the sleeve done so I can move on to other projects. So as a courtesy I message him the day before my appointment to make sure since I'm driving 90 miles to the shop. He replies within a few hours with excuses of how he won't be able to make it. I ask if he was going to tell me, and I get more excuses, no effort to reschedule. Finally he offers my deposit back, which I hadn't provided since this was the third session on a long tattoo and from what I've seen in the industry that's pretty normal. So now I have a partially finished tattoo and I have to find another artist to finish it. The biggest bummer is the James does quality work. I just want to share this so others don't have the same experience I did. Go to him for single session pieces all day, but be very wary of starting something that will take multiple sessions because his respect to scheduled appointments is basically nonexistent. Maybe he's busy, maybe his head got too big and it didn't matter enough for him to stick to his word. Either way, I won't be back. read more

I found this tattoo shop on yelp while I was nearby getting my pet cremated. It was an extremely hard day for me, but then I found Benny. He was a ray of sunshine. I told him exactly what I wanted so that I can have something to remind me of my baby. Benny was thoughtful and kind and took the time to make sure that I got what I had asked for. This is a beautiful tattoo that I will cherish forever. I knew that I didn't want anything too big, the font and lettering were perfect and exactly what I had asked for. First time, there was no confirmation, second time I show up, I wasn't even in the calendar and the artist that was going to tattoo me had another client in the chair and wanted to focus on the person he was on working. He was very apologetic and decided to reschedule me for an 8am Sunday appointment. No show, no response. It is very unprofessional and shows a bad work ethic. I recently had work done by Karina a.k.a. Kiki. At first I wanted to schedule with Tanya, but she was honest with me and told me she wouldn't feel comfortable covering a small piece I had on my arm so she recommended Kiki. Look, she did what I wanted, but after three weeks of my Tat healing, it definitely needed a touchup which she also mentioned when I was getting it worked on. I texted her what the problem was. Some lines weren't clean some shading needed to be touched up and I have a moth that doesn't look the same on both sides and def needed to be fixed! She let me know she was going to charge me for the set up fee of $50. I have a couple other tattoos I've never needed a touchup, but I know people who have and not one person that I've ever known have paid for their touchups. I think it's pretty unprofessional for a reputable artist not to tell you that beforehand. I paid good money to have this work done and I gave her a good tip for her to try to charge me for her mistakes. She needs to put that up on her Instagram and let people know beforehand. So keep in mind if you need any work done, and you see Kiki, you might need a touchup and you will definitely be charged! So I would suggest you go elsewhere. Now I have to find another artist to fix her mistakes. read more

Let me tell y'all about a tattoo artist that works at this location his name is Adam, he's more of and ambulatory tattoo artist as he claims. I got in contact with him about a tattoo inquiry I had, we both agreed and he asked for a $150 deposit as every artist does I agreed and we set a date and time for the tattoo. As the day went by he kept changing the time in which I was lenient with because I understand that unfortunate events happened. Finally we agreed that at 7 we were going to meet up for the tattoo. I ended up getting there at 7pm with two of my friends. He was high on something and drunk and he also brought a friend with him that made me and my friends uncomfortable. As the night progressed he kept giving me excuses saying that "oh his printer wasn't working" "that he was feeling to many energies in the room" "that he needed to take a break to smoke to calm down". Till that point I was still calm and being understanding I even told him if we needed to reschedule it was fine that I understand he kept saying no and after wasting almost 3hrs of my time he said we needed to reschedule. In which I agreed my best friend told me to ask him for the deposit which in that moment I didn't feel comfortable doing so I told him that we would just figure another day out and my friends and I left. At 1am I decided to go ahead and ask him to return my deposit he view my message and left it on read, I once again requested the deposit and he blocked me. PLEASE BE CAREFUL WITH HIM HIS NAME IS ADAM. He also has a shop in LA. He blocked me in instagram and phone number once I asked him for the deposit back. He is so unprofessional and petty. I did nothing but be lenient and understanding with him. read more

It was a small one behind my neck so nothing too extravegent, but Freddy made it a very smooth process and was very thoughtful throughout the session. The shop itself is very clean and looks like its well taken care of. There were people inside just hanging out and it felt like it had a very chill atmosphere. Freddy was very friendly and had a welcoming attitude when I came in and during the prepping. He would make sure I felt comfortable and relax and also would often ask if I'm doing okay and if I was dealing with the pain okay. Also we would just talk about random things like anime or video games. After we were done he double/triple checked with me if I was happy and if I needed adjustments or anything, but it came out fantastic in the first try!
