The place is clean and well managed, but still has a spunky little vibe. The workers here are quick, professional and friendly. Meg was our piercer, and she did an excellent job. I got my nose pierced, and the pain was minimal. They also offer student discount for students, which is nice. Came to Anaheim for a last minute trip and was lightweight browsing the idea of getting a tattoo. I happen to find this place on Yelp and I like that the website has the flash tattoos on the site and a good amount to choose from at that. Found a few that I liked and went in to get one done. Immediately felt good vibes from the place and was greeted as soon as I entered by MJ. She is the one who did my tattoo and from start to finish it was about 30-45:minutes. It takes alot for me to feel like I get good vibes from someone and I felt like she did a good job. The location was super clean and professional looking. I'm sure this is a respect thing for other artists, but the one I wanted, the artist wasn't there and she woman at the front said artists prefer to not do work from other artists, which I get and it saved me a few hundred from the one I originally wanted. Short summary: Jocelyn pierced my septum; told me it was deviated but she'd pierce it in a way that my jewelry wouldn't be crooked; barbell was $19; extremely professional place; came in as a walk-in. Cost of service is as expected & cost of jewelry ranges dramatically from $19 titanium barbell to several hundreds for the gold selections. Story time: I took the exhausting MCAT (!!!!!!!) a few miles from this location. My present to myself for enduring a 7.5 hour exam was going to be a septum piercing, & I was overjoyed that Baron was nearby. I arrived as a walk-in & was seen shortly after filling out a form. The employees let me charge my dead phone behind the counter. Jocelyn was my piercer & was incredible. Her own piercings are excellently curated (as in they have a complementary aesthetic/theme). She told me I had a deviated septum (fun fact to learn about yourself) & she would pierce it in a way that my jewelry will sit evenly. Piercing was sanitary, quick, and lasted maybe 10 mins at most. She taught me how to flip the barbell up for work purposes (so cool that I have a secret piercing, haha). A month later, it's doing absolutely great & I haven't had any issues whatsoever. I took several of the tattoo artists' business cards bc their work is absolutely beautiful. You can find baron artists by searching "baron" on Instagram and a ton of accounts will come up that belong to the tattoo artists & state in the bio which location they work at. All my daughter wanted for her 6th birthday was to get her ears pierced! About 3 years ago I had gone to a different place that had a sign saying 6 was their age minimum, and I had vowed to take her there as soon as she was old enough. We got to that place at opening and were told the minimum age was 7....which is not what anything online says. Disappointed, I frantically searched on Yelp to find another place that will take a 6 year old. I found Baron, which conveniently is located in an area we are very familiar with! I gave them a call to be sure we could bring her in and see what else was needed. They confirmed they could, and I would need basically proof of guardianship and proof of her age. We had a picture of her birth certificate and a screenshot of her school profile with her picture. When we arrived, we were greeted by Megan. She was warm and friendly and explained everything to us, and had me fill out a waiver for my daughter. Inside the store was small but they have several tattooing stations and a few people inside were getting tattoos. While we waited, we looked at earrings and Megan showed us the recommended choices for kids' studs. My daughter picked a cute pair of little light pink earrings. The jewelry is priced per piece, and it doesn't seem there is any discount for buying multiples. A deal on double piercings (like a buy one, get one discounted) when buying 2 identical pieces would be a nice idea. But we picked what she wanted and waited a few minutes to be called back for the piercing. After a few minutes, Megan and another employee (I cannot remember her name unfortunately) called us into a piercing room and were so kind and walked my daughter through every step of the process. The whole thing just took a short time and before we knew it she was done! They did an excellent job and my daughter didn't even cry. It was a bit expensive, but they gave a little discount for Mothers Day. Still, they did a great job and this morning the piercings look great and my daughter said they dont hurt. I normally don't leave negative reviews, but my experience with John at this shop was unacceptable and needs to be shared. I had three separate appointments with him, and he was late every single time--30 minutes late to my first tattoo appointment, 20 minutes late to my consultation, and an hour and 20 minutes late to my most recent tattoo appointment. For my second tattoo, he promised to send me the mock design three days before the appointment. Instead, he didn't send anything until 6pm the night before my 8am session--and what he sent wasn't even a real tattoo design. It was an AI-generated placeholder, not something he actually designed or prepared. The repeated lateness, lack of professionalism, and the last-minute AI mock-up made the whole process incredibly frustrating. I ultimately chose not to move forward with him because I didn't feel comfortable or confident in his reliability. I hope the shop addresses this, because no client should have to deal with this level of unprofessional behavior. read more

This negative review is specifically for John, however, after reading some of the other negative reviews, it sounds like there may be a pattern at this shop... I can neither confirm nor deny this. I believe there's a behavioral pattern with John though. George W.'s review on 11/20/25 regarding their experience with John gave me the confidence to make the decision to cancel my appointment with John and go with my gut feeling. Always go with your gut feeling, especially if it's gnawing at you more than once! TL;DR: Skill wise, John is great. I had a custom flash tattoo that he inked on me and his work was clean and crisp. The shop recommended him as one of their artists that specialized in single needle, a very precise type of fine line tattoo-ing. However, his custom tattoo design process = completely unprofessional, lazy, and unethical. Does not listen to client. --- I've been to a fair share of tattoo artists and I've never experienced one quite like John. The entire design process for my custom tattoo with him was completely unprofessional and incredibly frustrating. I tend to give benefit of the doubt because I know art takes time and tattoo-ing is a laborious yet skillful job. However, there were red flags from day one. I verbally described what I wanted to him in-person and showed him reference photos = we scheduled a date to get the work done. Leading up to day of the appointment, I hear nothing from him about a draft. I've worked with artists who like to design day-of so I assume that's what we were doing and took time off work to spend the afternoon with him...yet to my disappointment, when I arrived, he showed me 2 finalized options and told me to pick. The 2 designs he made definitely felt AI-generated and nothing near what I described to him. There's also a language barrier between us, however, he made it seem like he understood what I wanted. At this point I wasn't sure if it was the language barrier or a lack of experience that made him think it was ok to provide me a final design the day of our appointment. He said we had to reschedule so he can re-design what I wanted (our 2nd verbal convo)... I was very annoyed, but again, tried to give grace. What if I had driven from LA or SD, let alone taking time off work, to this appointment? Completely unacceptable. We rescheduled for a week later on a workday (so yes I had to take time off work again) and I asked him to please send me the drafts beforehand for review/feedback. He said he would. A couple days passed and I had to reach out for the draft. What he provided was again not what I asked for and looked like he AI-generated it last minute. At that point, I had described it to him 2 different ways in-person and showed him the same reference photos... to my own detriment, I gave grace again. I told him I'd email him a more detailed description of what I wanted with the same reference photos. This time, I added my own AI-generated image to give him an idea of what I wanted exactly because he just wasn't capturing the vision. To my own surprise, the AI platform I used was very good and produced almost exactly what I wanted! When I emailed him these, I said he could use the designs as a template since it was exactly what I wanted, but because it was AI it needed to be cleaned up with a human touch. 1-2 days before our appointment, he sends me his new draft via text message and used my AI template, almost exactly... and indirectly claimed it as his own work. It looked like he just put my AI image into his own AI generator and cleaned it up a tiny bit. Using AI and claiming it as your own work is absolutely unethical to me and completely lazy, let alone unprofessional. My partner is a designer and advised that there's no way an artist can provide such a detailed draft in such a quick turnaround time, let alone a "final" draft. I provided feedback to him up to the day before our appointment. The cherry on top was that John had the audacity to tell me this was the final design (after I've given him the same feedback to re-work the design) the night before our appointment!! This is permanent ink on someone...it was unbelievable. I've never worked with an artist as inexperienced and unprofessional as him from start to end. In the end, I went with my gut + counsel from friends to cancel my appointment with him. I had zero confidence and comfort to move forward with him, no matter how much I wanted this design. As the other reviewer mentioned, I really hope the shop addresses this and that this is just a pattern with one of their artist. No client, especially any newbies who don't know any better, should ever have to deal with this level of unprofessional behavior. read more

This is my second time at Baron Art for piercings. The first time I got pierced here was with Iris and the second time was with Jocelyn. Both were great, and both times they helped both me and my friend stay calm and relaxed during the entire process. This time my friend and I decided to get piercings together. Originally we walked in on a Sunday morning but the wait would've been 2 hrs long. So we decided to make an appointment for the following Monday at 7PM. Originally only my friend had an appointment, but once I saw the spider earring I impulsively decided to get a piercing as well. They were able to squeeze me in right after my friend and we were out of there in basically 30 mins. When our artist arrived, he set up swiftly and confirmed our designs and asked us about the sizes and prepared the stencils as needed. I reached out in late April to make an appointment for July. I picked an artist (Eva), sent in reference photos, and provided a description of what I wanted. With that information, I was given a quote for my 1.5"-2" tattoo. By the beginning of May, my appointment was secured with a $60 deposit. With the confirmation of my deposit being received and my appointment being set up, I was advised "please contact us 3-4 days before your appointment date, if the sketch is ready from the artist, we will send it to you to check. If your design is a portrait, lettering, or same as reference photo, then there will be no design provided since it will be directly used as a stencil." (This is word for word and copy and pasted from the email!) I had an appointment for 07/29. Baron art reached out to me on 07/25 to confirm via email, and I confirmed and asked for my sketch. I followed up again on 07/28 for the sketch. Ghosted -- no sketch........ On my tattoo day, I came in on time and waited around 15 mins for Eva to set up. I feel like she should have been set up already knowing she had an appointment (especially since I booked a few months in advance). What was frustrating was that she did not provide a sketch, so she was doing it on the spot. She didn't even read the description of what I wanted, so we kept on making changes to her sketch and it got to the point that instead of going to her station to sketch my tattoo, she just sat next to me in the waiting area to sketch. It was over 1 hour after my appointment time to actually start the tattoo. This could have been prevent had I was provided a sketch as ADVISED and REQUESTED (I requested twice). If I was provided a sketch, changes could have been made in advance and when I came in for my appointment, it would just come down to sizing. In the appointment confirmation it was advised that no guests were allowed, but plenty of other people were coming in and had multiple guests. Interesting. I made my friends wait in the parking lot, and had I know it was ok I would have told them to come inside.... They also said masks required but I saw plenty of customers without. Just know that nothing is enforced. My tattoo itself took around 30 mins. It came out nice, but since it is fine line, I do need a touch up as I started seeing uneven ink as it healed. I flew in from NorCal for Baron Art and Eva, but I don't really feel like I was a valued client. 0 conversation. No "how are you?" or "is this your first tattoo?" so customer service wasn't there in the slightest. It was literally a silent transaction. No thank you for coming or anything. I did appreciate their healing method, which is Second Skin. It is a game changer for tattoo healing, so that was a nice experience. Overall, meh experience. I have a few months to return for a free touchup, but I guess it depends on my schedule and flight prices. I don't think I'd return for other pieces considering how lacking the customer service and experience was. read more

My cousin from Toronto and I decided to get matching tattoos during her visit, so she emailed Baron Art Tattoo, made a deposit, and followed up days in advance, but never heard back. Despite following all instructions to book, we arrived for our appointment only to be told there was no confirmation or payment received. The staff member who spoke to my cousin was incredibly rude. We left frustrated, and the next day, my cousin called to get her deposit back, which she did. This whole experience was a waste of our time, especially given my cousin's short visit. Baron Art Tattoo needs to improve their email communication and booking process. I would not recommend this place based on our experience.
