I took my kiddo in for a tattoo on his 18th birthday, Ryan was his artist and he was awesome! He is super talented and friendly. My kiddo had brought in his artwork for his first tattoo and Ryan and my kid collaborated together to make the artwork come to life. Thanks Ryan we will definitely be back!

Jason Martin is an amazing artist! I would recommend him to anyone! It was a great experience to be tattooed by him. The fantastic piece of artwork I received is exactly what I wanted, and even more beautiful than I expected.

Ok so I hate writing reviews but I just needed to give a shout out to Ryan who has done 3 tattoos total for me and has fixed 2 bad ones I had done in my youth. He is so professional easy going laid back guy and did a fantastic job on my tattoos, when I needed a break he gives it to me no problem and he entertains all my silly questions I have when I'm sitting trying to take my mind off the pain. Yes tattoos hurt y"all but thank you so much Ryan for being professional and always giving me an unbelievable outcome on my tattoos especially ones you had to redo because they were horrible the first time. I'm recommending Ryan to anyone and everyone who wants a tattoo done or redone by him go see him at Lefty's tattoo

Jason is AMAZING! He resurrected my husband's sleeve and made him proud to show it off. I also received a couple tattoos from him and was pleased. Shop is one of the cleanest and everything is new and packaged. Jason makes you feel comfortable and has an amazing talent!

Just had two tattoos done in the last month by J-DOGG and I couldn't be happier with them. His work is amazing. I came in with what I thought was a pretty complicated piece, but he nailed it. He worked with me to get it exactly the way I wanted it, gave me suggestions on how to make it stand out more, and then knocked it out in one quick sitting. My second tattoo done by him? Same story. I'll post some pictures. You can read all the reviews you want about a tattoo shop or artist, but until you see the work they do, it's pretty hard to convince anyone. And I need to apologize to the other tattoo shops I've reviewed. They were good and I'm happy with my tattoos I got there when I got them, but J-Dogg is the only one I'll ever go back to!

My first tattoo and i chose Jason Martin had 2 years worth of sessions just to complete my biomechanical tattoo. He did a fabulous job, i couldn't ask for more Great to talk to and the rates were reasonable His attention to detail is amazing and his knowledge of classic car help made the tattoo realistic My tattoo was a complete freestyle, he use several different black to have a perfect shade, he know how the muscle moves, so he place the tattoo in the position where the image would not be distorted, even with movement I attach a pix to prove his work

I've been wanting a new tattoo and I finally did it. Chris was amazing. Brought in an idea and he totally made it happen. I had called in the morning and made an appointment. I'm really glad I do because it was really busy. I can't wait to go back.

Jason Martin!! Need I say more! Thanks I love it!

I'm giving two stars because truly one of the tattoos I got here was absoloutely amazing, and…read moreeverything I could of dreamed of. But it went south from there. I did need to cancel my original appointment early the morning a day prior due to being ill with GG, and I was informed I would need to place another deposit. I agreed and specifically asked whether that additional deposit would apply toward the tattoo, and I was told that it would. When I arrived for the rescheduled appointment, I was told it did not apply and that this had been communicated via text. After reviewing the messages, I did not see that clarification reflected. I did not argue because I respected her and complied. I also want to note that I was not made aware of any written shop policy regarding deposits in this situation. Based on the wording of the conversation, it came across that the additional deposit was for accountability due to the late cancellation, rather than that the original deposit would no longer count toward the tattoo. It's also worth mentioning that policy isn't anywhere nor was communicated to me. During the session, the artist stopped partway through because she wasn't feeling well, which I completely understand and respect. However, once the tattoo healed (it has now been over a month), I noticed visible shakiness in the linework, inconsistent line weight, and areas of blowout that were not apparent initially. I want to be clear that I genuinely love the tattoo concept itself, my concern is specifically with the execution. I paid a significant amount for the piece, and while I am not seeking a refund, as nice as that'd be, I was disappointed by the technical quality of the finished linework. Especially receiving a tattoo from this artist before and it being absoloutely amazing. So trust was broken there as well. As it healed I didn't really notice at first how poorly done it was. So later, when I reached out to book my next tattoo, I did not receive a response and noticed I was blocked from viewing the artist's stories, which made the lack of communication feel exclusionary and unprofessional. My intention in this review isn't to place blame, but to ask for acknowledgment. I value transparency, especially with permanent work. I paid quite a bit for very very poorly done healed work. It ended up being over $250+.

Spidey at American Vintage Tattoos is truly one of a kind. Met at an event where he was there…read moretattooing and at the time, I did not have any tattoos. Saw his work and thought...wow I think I finally found an artist that I would like to have a tattoo from. Made an appointment for the next day and decided on a big eagle on my back as my first tattoo. Came out INCREDIBLE! The detail and lines in his work was amazing. Within the next few weeks I decided to have him do a lion and St. Michael on my chest and I could not have been happier!!! 5 months down the road, decided to add to my back and make a full back piece. All done by Spidey. Not only is he a great artist, he's also an awesome and friendly person. As long as Spidey is around, I will not EVER go elsewhere for a tattoo. Check him out! You will not be disappointed. Oh, forgot to mention, my lady and her mom love Spidey and his work so much they have multiple tattoos from him as well!!!! Thank you Spidey and team at American Vintage!!! Keep up the great work and awesome shop!!

UPDATE: So a while…read moreago I posted a negative review for this shop as I was extremely convinced that the tattoo I asked for was not what received . ( I will post what I wanted v what I got below). For the record the original tatoo artist was Jason, and for the record if you read this sir I still hope you step on a pile of red ants. Bare foot. Holding a cold refreshing cold beverage which you drop. From pain. F u. So I rant, post on yelp a complaint as Yelp is the real culprit here. I went to this shop based off the recommendation of yelp. Not word of mouth, or any impressive portfolio. Just local SEO and the algorithm deciding what's best in my location. For this, yelp you suck; you're over saturated, and your reviews are phony. Duh. My bad, I forgot it's 2025, stop believing media apps.duh. So eventually owner, Chris, responds stating that that's awful. He feels bad and that he would love a chance to make it right. I figure sure, why wouldn't I want to make the situation correct? Ultimately I go into the shop and tell him specifically the points I didn't agree with about the tattoo, and the points that I said I actually thought were impressive. He had decided overall the entire thing needs to be taken off and that's what he was going to do. Now I don't know this guy, but I've known a lot of people in my life, and my impression off the jump was that he's the type of person to come out the gates hard saying he can fix a problem, or find a solution for something, but he's probably not gonna do it. Give some time and he'll fizzle and not come through on his word. Overall, that's exactly what happened. I let him take the reins, and ultimately he decided that I'm too unappreciative for his offering of fixing my tatoo. The price to laser the tattoo apparently is more expensive than what I paid for the tattoo, and therefore I should be walking in with glitter shooting out my eyes with appreciation. On our first session personally I was not in a financial place to tip him, and I really didn't know if this was the type of situation to tip him. But after that first session, he's entire vibe changed and I really think it was because he did not get tipped. His vibe said, " what's in it for me." Vs "I'm doing right for the sake of right." Which is the type of person I usually do business with; ppl who go extra miles to make a customer happy. After ghosting me, and you know you were, six days no response, he then starts to bring up the word cover- up. As if the amount of sessions needed we were pursuing was ultimately moving towards a cover-up. This is so triggering to me because this is exactly why I flipped my shit the first time. Both these men decided to make decisions about what's going on my body without talking to me or getting my consent. This is not OK. If we were doing a cover-up, then we wouldn't have lasered the entire circumference of my ankle causing so much recovery on my part. We would have just done the minor edges and little things that I had talked about specifically to you like the rosebud and the banana leaf. Straight up Mr., I'm not appreciative because I didn't want more pain, so you are correct Chris, but bottom line if we were choosing a cover-up, this word should have been brought up when we first talked about the tattoo and what we're going to do in the future plan. The shop gets one star because they can't listen and for a woman's body in 2025----when she tells you what she wants and you guys make a decision about her body without talking to her and getting HER CONSENT FOR HER BODY changing the plan this is not OK.
