I'm giving two stars because truly one of the tattoos I got here was absoloutely amazing, and everything I could of dreamed of. But it went south from there. I did need to cancel my original appointment early the morning a day prior due to being ill with GG, and I was informed I would need to place another deposit. I agreed and specifically asked whether that additional deposit would apply toward the tattoo, and I was told that it would. When I arrived for the rescheduled appointment, I was told it did not apply and that this had been communicated via text. After reviewing the messages, I did not see that clarification reflected. I did not argue because I respected her and complied. I also want to note that I was not made aware of any written shop policy regarding deposits in this situation. Based on the wording of the conversation, it came across that the additional deposit was for accountability due to the late cancellation, rather than that the original deposit would no longer count toward the tattoo. It's also worth mentioning that policy isn't anywhere nor was communicated to me. During the session, the artist stopped partway through because she wasn't feeling well, which I completely understand and respect. However, once the tattoo healed (it has now been over a month), I noticed visible shakiness in the linework, inconsistent line weight, and areas of blowout that were not apparent initially. I want to be clear that I genuinely love the tattoo concept itself, my concern is specifically with the execution. I paid a significant amount for the piece, and while I am not seeking a refund, as nice as that'd be, I was disappointed by the technical quality of the finished linework. Especially receiving a tattoo from this artist before and it being absoloutely amazing. So trust was broken there as well. As it healed I didn't really notice at first how poorly done it was. So later, when I reached out to book my next tattoo, I did not receive a response and noticed I was blocked from viewing the artist's stories, which made the lack of communication feel exclusionary and unprofessional. My intention in this review isn't to place blame, but to ask for acknowledgment. I value transparency, especially with permanent work. I paid quite a bit for very very poorly done healed work. It ended up being over $250+. read more

I talked with Alex and gave him some ideas of what my daughter was looking for and made an appointment for my daughter, my wife and myself to get matching tattoos. Alex's communication was great. We were able to get an appointment time on her birthday that worked for us. He was very patient as well as supportive since this was my daughter's first tattoo. He had her take a break half way through the session which helped her. My wife wanted a smaller more simple version which he also was able to do. Be very wise with who you pick as your artist, and unfortunately do not assume anything even when it comes down to deposits. The atmosphere itself was incredible, I loved how spacious the whole place was, and how clean. Everyone seemed extremely chill, and very welcoming which is why this is unfortunate for me on my end. I chose GG as my artist to do two flower tattoos on my knee, literally took the picture from Pinterest. Quoted me $300 in total to do it, and I had no problem doing it. Gave her $50 as my deposit prior to the appointment, said it went towards the design/her time? Being tatted elsewhere or just understanding the rule of thumb with deposits I assumed my deposit would go towards my "spot" and tattoo. So I brought $260 in cash, and was running late so I thought I could tip through Apple Cash since I did that prior as my deposit. She finished roughly two hours later with my tattoo, and when I gave her the cash she now switched it up on me saying I'm short $40? So when I asked about the deposit I left she then proceeded to tell me it doesn't go towards the actual tattoo but for her own time to make my flowers. As an artist I would specify that with your clients because reading another yelp review she told that person the deposit is for an entirely different reason than my own. Are we making up definitions of deposits now? Or switching them on the spot? Coming home and cleaning my tattoo I noticed uneven lines, and even a petal that doesn't attach to the flower itself. So I went from being quoted $300 to now $350 obviously plus tip. read more

This is long overdue... About 2 years ago, a coworker of mine were chatting when I asked him about his ink. He told me his artist is up near his house in Orange. I live down in San Diego and I was a little hesitant to venture up. My coworker had an appointment one day and asked if I wanted to kick it afterwards. So I figured, "why the hell not?" When I got up I met up with Mike Ortiz. He was pretty friendly and I really liked the art up on his wall. Over time I shot him a few messages about some ideas and pulled the trigger on getting a sleeve done. (went pretty big for first ink. haha) And it turned out pretty damn fine. Bold lines and a slick design. I get asked about my tats all the time at work, from friends, and even some family members. About a year later I came in again and the homie hooked it up with a pretty sick reaper on my inner left forearm. Mike shows some true work and I am grateful to have him as an artist and a homie. Definitely worth the money and 2-3 hour drive. I highly recommend getting some work done by Mike Ortiz *I forgot to add this part of the story* (I am so sorry Nate, please forgive me. haha) Around the last session for my sleeve I was eyeing this piece framed across the room. It was done by Nathan Yoon. I kept telling Mike that I really liked that one and he suggested to get it done that same day because Nate had a a some time to burn until his next appointment. So I did. I also asked to get some roman numerals put underneath it and he was like " for sure". He got his station prepared and had several sizes of the piece and number for me to choose. He banged it out pretty quickly and it is pretty dope. I would also recommend getting some stuff done by Nate. Dude is cool. read more

This is a really cool shop. As some may have stated, parking is a little tough, but it's easy enough to get dropped off or maybe take an Uber to eliminate overthinking it. I got my tattoo from Thea and I really do love it. There's nothing more beautiful than a brunette so when I had the chance to get one on me (tattoo - obvs) forever, best believe this punk jumped up to beat down (as in tattooed). I had seen Thea's work and I KNEW I had to get something from her. The colors are always bold and the lines is fly as Ph so I needed to get something from her. When I had some extra cash, I knew I was going to get something from her so I looked through her IG (as seen in my picture) for any designs that spoke to me and there it was. I went to her website to fill out the Request An Appointment page because I'm not an animal. It's LITERALLY the ONLY thing she asks for. Well, that and respect, but the latter is implied. Don't be a goon. After filling it out, we came up with an idea, day and time and I sent the deposit. Some people show up to tattoo appointments with Boba or sandwiches or something that the tattooer likes or appreciates and I believe that Thea isn't against that, I just take years to get to know people, so I went empty handed (sorry). I got there and she was pumped, prepped and ready to go. She has a great touch and moves quickly without losing any detail elements, or making it feeling rushed. You can tell that Thea loves doing what she does and that makes her amazing at it. I really love the work and I couldn't even begin to say how many compliments I get about it. Back to Thea real quick though, she's really easy going and makes sure that you're comfortable and she's one of the funniest people out in these streets. First and foremost, I would highly recommend this shop. My artist was Nathan, and this was my first tattoo. He welcomed me into the shop and quickly got to work in guiding me through the process (I was a walk-in). The paperwork was simple, the shop was super clean, and the environment was completely welcoming. I ended up getting what I had originally imagined, in a different location than I had imagined which I am thankful for! About the shop itself: Just before the Orange circle. They have limited parking in the back, however street parking is easily available. The shop is four rooms that are all connected. Very clean. About the artist I had and my tattoo: I came in one evening just looking for a quote so I can start my sleeve. I was immediately introduced by Matt. He is very friendly and of course knowledgeable. I have these three small tattoos on my arm that I wanted covered because if I start my sleeve they're just kind of in the way of having a flowing piece. And by the time I left I already left with an appointment. It was $100 to secure my appointment. Understandable. I was quoted $600 for my piece and that $100 that I put down would be going towards my piece. Matt was extremely easy to work with and always responded to my texts. (I have had a artist in the past that started a large piece and I never saw him after that session, so I had to find a new artist to finish it.) So I definitely appreciate how responsive he was. When it came to my first session we made it an easy day and just did the outline. Which I won't lie, I wasn't too fond of my lion's face in the outline, but kept telling myself it will all come together when it's shaded and completed. It healed in just under two weeks. My second session was yesterday and we honestly weren't sure how much I could handle. We were both impressed that he was able to finish the entire shading! After almost three hours all the shading was completed. We took about a 5/10 minute break once an hour. Which I appreciated! But after those three hours it was completely worth it! After being worried with the outline, the trust that I put in to Matt paid off. I am beyond happy with my tattoo! I will definitely come back to Matt for future tattoos. And definitely recommend him! read more

She is super fun to chat with too, if you're into that. We had a great time and many of the other artists would come in to say hello and see what she was working on. Everyone was friendly and professional. I especially liked how the shop was laid out. There were quite a few rooms and each room was shared by two artists, I believe. Each artist had their own set up plus a seating area in each room where you could wait and relax. BEST FRIDAY THE 13th EVER! I came in for my 7th tattoo and this was the best experience i've ever had at a tattoo shop! I came in with two coworkers for the Friday the 13th special, while I signed in with one coworker the other one was running a little late and once she got there they said she was too late to sign in, but they eventually had an opening for her as well! We came in a little late (around 8) because it was when we were off and it was the only shop open later. There were a lot of people waiting but they were going through the list super fast since they had multiple artists working. I got Paul, and he was the absolute best! He was super chill, let me know everything that he was doing, and kept checking up to see if I was alright. He also kept good conversation throughout the whole piece. All the staff was super nice and the space was all clean and sanitized. This place is HUGE. At least the biggest tattoo shop I've been to, which works great for Friday the 13th. The only downside was finding parking but even then it wasn't that bad. I will definitely be returning soon! Shout-out to Paul and the rest of the staff! read more
