Jay was amazing from start to finish! Took me as a walk in and was able to do two small finger tattoos for me right then and there! Very meticulous and precise, i will definitely come back again!
Highly recommend Jay he did my first ever tattoo! Everyone was nice in the studio and would definitely come back to get my other ones here.
Great experience with this studio! I called once they were open and was able to snag a same day appointment two hours later. Staff was professional and made sure placement and size was exactly how I wanted it. We were done in 30 minutes and the tattoo came out amazing! Will definitely come back next time I'm in town, thank you :)
Jojo is an amazing tattoo artist! She took the time to consult with me about the potential design to be tattooed on my arm and ended up with a really nice ornamental design to add to my arm! She made sure that I was satisfied with the design before starting the session. Jojo helped me feel relaxed and asked if I was okay throughout the session. There's also some snacks available if you want to eat before and/or during the session! The studio is very clean and the atmosphere is very relaxing! Highly recommend getting your tattoos done here!
Walked-in with no appointment (I recommend calling to see if they have time that day). Jay is the most patient and understanding artist, giving that this is my first tattoo and I wanted to make sure it would be exactly how I wanted it. I know it's a small and simple tattoo, but he did a great job! I mean, look at how crisp the lines are. And I'm definitely coming back for my next one! I saw other extreme tattoos up on their wall and on instagram, I can tell this place is very talented :)
Back in May I went to JoJo for a fine line tattoo. As soon as I was done, I KNEW I wanted another one. Fast forward to October, got my second one done by her. Her work in unmatched. Attention to detail is impeccable. When you send Julie design she will send it back to you. Ask you if there needs to be any edits done is very open with communication and even when you arrive for your day of appointment you will go over it with you one more time to make sure it's what you really want. She will make many sized stencils apply it as many times as needed - because after all this is permanent artwork on your body. She's a very professional and will keep on going back
SHOUTOUT TO MY MAN JAY!!! He is an awesome tattoo artist. Literally a hidden gem in West LA. He just opened shop last year March. He was so attentive to detail and made sure throughout the process that you were comfortable. I wanted a fine-line tattoo and he hit it OUT OF THE PARK. When we got there he made sure we sanitized our hands and he went over our designs and he edited any changes that needed to be made. He even printed different sizes of the tattoo even though we told him the siZe because he wanted to make sure everything was perfect. He is also VERY reasonably priced. Look no further because JAY is the man that will hook you up. They bandage you with waterproof bandage and make sure to tells you everything you need to know for aftercare. He also gives you a packet of vitamin A and D cream to help you heal. Some tattoo artist makes you go buy creams or try to sell their own, not Jay. I think he is an honest businessman and i took my sister and best friend (of 10 plus years) and they both loved him and his work also. Jay you can be assured we will tell everyone we know and recommend your shop and we will definitely return. Thank you so much for making our tattoo experience AWESOME POSSUM!
My friend and I both made appointments with Jojo when we saw her beautiful work on instagram. She took both of us at the same time. I wanted to make some changes on the initial design she gave me and she was very patient, kind, and professional about it. The end result is beautiful and she did it in a timely fashion too. The way she tattoos is very gentle. Her lines are super fine and she is very meticulous. The inside of the shop was very spacious and had a nice bathroom. The ambiance in the shop was very relaxed which I appreciated while getting a tattoo. I can't wait to get more!!!!! Overall, I had a great experience! I'm sure you guys will too if you choose to come here.
I don't do yelp reviews at all but this experience was just too good not to review. I had an awesome experience at Playink Tattoo. Jay was attentive and very helpful when we were talking about my ideas for the tattoo. I had originally wanted to place it on my tricep but he pointed out that the lines wouldn't be straight in some areas because of the muscles. I was honestly bummed but at the end of the day I wouldn't want something that I'm not 100% satisfied with so I took his advice and changed placement to my forearm. I made a great choice switching because now I can constantly look at how freaking crazy this piece is!!! I also wasn't planning on getting any color done but I had a last minute idea of having a red streak on his eye and Jay was supportive with my decision and He even added whites to make certain areas stand out! This definitely passed my expectations and then some! Hmm I guess if I were to give some cons it would be that response times (through yelp) can take longer than what you would expect. I would recommend to reach out through social media maybe. Oh I forgot to mention that I came out from Rancho Cucamonga to get this done so that's 2+ hours driving but it was definitely worth it! Thanks again Jay!!
I absolutely recommend this studio. I did both of my tattoos as a walk-in and was helped immediately. I've done a tattoo with both artists and they both exceeded my expectations. I came in with a concept but was still very indecisive. I got inspired from a manga panel and asked if it was possible to scale down the panel and add some other details. The artist helped me create my vision and bring it back to life. Super talented artists who pay attention to details. Artists make you feel comfortable! The artists mocked up the designs and then present different sizes to you. I tried different placements and they helped me until I was satisfied. Studio is very clean and relaxing. There is abundant street parking where the studio is located as well. Will be back soon
My friend and I went on a trip to LA for the summer and wanted to get matching tattoos, so we booked an appointment in advance through Yelp. They were pretty quick at responding. We wanted a small floral (rose and daisy) tattoo on our wrist. The tattoo place asked for a $50 deposit from each of us. When we got there, the tattoo artist Jay worked super efficiently. He asked us for the design and edited it to our liking. Then, he printed out 3 different sizes of both orientations for the tattoo. I asked for some changes and he was really nice about it, making sure we were both satisfied with the design and location on our wrists. The tattoo only took about 30 minutes for each person and the total cost came out to be $100 each for the small tattoo (includes the initial deposit) - which is not bad at all! We both love how the tattoos came out and felt comfortable talking with the artist. I had a great experience here and I highly recommend going here for your tattoos!! If I'm ever back in LA and thinking about getting another tattoo, then I'll definitely come back here.
Feeling spontaneous and bold, I decided to get my first tattoo today. I called Playink to see if they were accepting walk-ins. Jay picked up the phone and let me know they were, he asked what I wanted and gave me an estimate over the phone. I told him I was ready to come in whenever he was ready, and a few hours later I was in the shop ready to get inked for the first time. Woohoo! I knew if it took any longer I would lose whatever courage I had and chicken out, but thankfully I didn't have to deal with that scenario. The shop was clean and spaced out, and it is mandated to use hand sanitizer upon entering and wearing double masks. I only had one on, so Jay gave me a second one. I truly appreciate the extra steps they take in maximizing safety and comfort. They are located next to the pre-school with black paint on their exterior. I think they are still getting settled in since they just opened this past April. I didn't see a parking lot, but there's street parking. The newness of the space does not reflect their work though, it's clear Jay is experienced. My tattoo looked so good! We were done in about under an hour or so. I couldn't have asked for anyone better. He helped me with placement and sizing, and helped bring my idea to fruition. I left with the happiest smile on my face. All in all a great experience, and I've already started recommending him to my tattoo-fiending friends. Thanks Jay!
Spent a total of $300 on four tattoos! It was my first time coming here and I was not disappointed. Great service and the people were super nice! I got what I wanted and I definitely will be back for another tattoo soon! Thank you jojo!

This by far is now my favorite tattoo studio! I always love working with the artist on a design, rather than just bringing in a picture of what I want. Jojo made all my dreams come true by combining my thoughts and pictures with her artistic eye. She even worked with me on the perfect placement for all 3 tattoos. If you want to work with true artists and have the very best experience in a studio with a beautiful vibe, you've found the place. Trust me read more

I would highly recommend this business. Clean, professional, courteous and I love my tattoo! The price is fair and the artist is great. I thought the tattoo would look better one way but he suggested another way and he was right. Trust them---they know what they're doing! read more

Best experience at any tattoo shop by far. I'm so happy with my new piece by Jay. He was patient with putting together exactly what I wanted and adjusting any changes. I just got my first tattoo today. I had an appointment and I got in right away. The tattoos artist helped choose the font and added a heart at the end. I said I wanted it dainty and we thinned out the thickness. It was perfect. Oh and 3 ladies were walk ins and each got a tattoo and were finished before my mom and I finished ours. They're nice. They're very clean and double masks. They take temp in the beginning. Overall I had a good experience. read more

I came here after seeing so many good reviews about this place (May 2022). This was my first tattoo and my artist was Jay who was EXTREMELY patient and made sure I was as comfortable as possible during my session. Their studio is very clean and I had a very good first experience! I would highly recommend this place. I also love that they covered my tattoo with a clear bandage (which is not something that all places offer) and sent me home with a cream to keep my tattoo moisturized after I removed the bandage. I don't have any recent photos of it being healed but trust me when I say it's just as beautiful as the pictures above. Thank you so much Jay! I'll be back soon ;) read more

It was my first time getting a tattoo and the overall setting definitely made me very comfortable! Jay, the tattoo artist, was willing to answer any questions I had and offered intermediate breaks if necessary. After this being my first experience, I'm definitely getting another tattoo and it will most likely be here. The process of my tattoo also only took approximately a little over an hour! read more

Fine details, friendly. 10/10 would go back. I called beforehand but then completely changed my idea by the time I went to the shop. He was very understanding and adapted well. I made an appointment with Jay through Yelp. I'm only visiting LA for a couple of days and I'm happy Jay could squeeze me into his tight schedule! It's my first tattoo and he made me feel comfortable and asked me multiple times if I was ok and if it hurt. I love my new tattoo and the experience! I'll be sure to come back soon to get tattooed by Jay again. read more

I went to this shop for my first tattoo. They were very welcoming and kind, JoJo my tattoo artist was so sweet she took her time bringing my idea to life! When I was being tattoo she asked me often if I was okay, once I started to feel dizzy she left me lay down and she got my an Arizona drink and some cookies so I wouldn't pass out! My Tattoo came out way better than I could have ever imagined. She was very gentle with the tattoo and took her time. I would 100% recommend going to this studio for any tattoos! read more
