My wife and I tried the Blue Fig on a rainy Sunday night. The restaurant is across the road from the Wegmans in Moorestown/Mt. Laurel in a newer attractive strip mall. The Blue Fig is very nice inside also. The decor is fairly modern and intimate with some tasteful black and white photos on the walls. The servers were very pleasant and gave some information on the specials.The Blue Fig offers an early bird type of special and also a prix fix option for $25.00 that includes and appetizer, main course an dessert. We opted to just order off the regular menu. They also have a weekday lunch special. We started with the tour of Lebanon which was hummus, tabouli and baba ghanoush. The hummus was very good and tasted freshly made. For the main course we had the Kufta Kebab and Moussaka. Both dishes were very good with nice flavors. The kebabs come with 3 sauces also. Came here on a Wednesday night, and decided to experience the outdoor seating because of the perfect weather that night. My party and I were immediately greeted by the nice waitress (Alex) who was very attentive and checked in with us every so often even though we were the only ones sitting outside. My order consisted of Kufta Kabob and my friend had Tajen Kufta with strawberry and Mediterranean cocktail drinks. For dessert we had the honey and pistachio baklava, and the Knafa. All the food was well made and it reached us very quickly from the time we ordered. It is pricey but worth it, and the outdoor seating is a giant thumbs up! Disappointed. I placed an order for carry out for baba ghanouj, thinking that it would be the standard blended eggplant dish. But instead I received a mixed vegetable salad with tiny pieces of eggplant. According to their front desk, classic Baba ghanouj is actually called mutabel here. Instead of offering to rectify the situation, I was refused a refund and an exchange. I was left with a meal that I did not want to eat. Beware future customers. Make sure you read the menu carefully, as things here are clearly not labeled as they should be and they're clearly stingy for every dollar they can get. read more

We were greeted with a cheerful welcome from the host by the name of Moe. I let him know that we would be ordering our food to go. He asked if this was our first time at the Blue Fig Cafe and I replied that it was. We ordered two gyro wraps with french fries. Meanwhile Moe brought us glasses of water to drink while we waited because he stated our order was going to take approximately ten minutes. I thought it was nice of Moe to accommodate us. The atmosphere is quaint and cozy with a modern flare. Moreover, the place was pack with patrons with some who were very aware of their B.Y.O.B. policy. This is nice to know for the next time when I want to dine in. The gyro wrap did not disappoint. I asked for extra tzatziki sauce because I like it that way. There was plenty of meat, lettuce, tomato,onion and tzatziki sauce all wrapped up in a fresh pita. I would definitely order this again! I can't wait to try their other items on the menu. read more

The perfect neighborhood casual restaurant spot. This is right up the street from my parents house, and we decided to head in one night while we were down visiting. I've been here plenty of times in the past, and ordered a variety of things off the menu, always pleasantly surprised by the meal. We've also ordered take-out and this food translates really well to eating-at-home too! Most recently, I ordered the Lamb Kebab entree, which was tender marinated char-grilled cubes of lamb with their house spice blend, and a side of grilled veggies with a starch - you have a choice of couscous or rice; I opted for the couscous. It's also served with 3 dipping sauces, a tahini, a fresh tomato sauce, and tzatziki. It was fantastic - not too salty, as I often find a lot of restaurant foods. The veggies were super delicious and fresh, everything came on skewers, and the flavors mixed super nicely while cooking - they know what they're doing! The couscous was simple and went perfectly with the dish by supplementing the already delicious flavors. My husband ordered the Tajen Shrimp entree which looked really cool when it came out! It was shrimp with potato, onion, bell pepper, carrots and tomato sauce, and he opted for the rice. The flavor was warm and bright - the vegetables really stood out. The sauce was somewhat of a tomato sauce, it almost had a spanish feel to it, despite it being Greek. It was definitely good, but mine was better! In the past I've ordered gyro, schwarma, and most of their falafel/kaftas. NEVER disappoints. We also had their Greek salad which is a pretty decent staple in my opinion. The vegetables were super fresh and flavorful with whatever seasonings they add in addition to the olive oil. I've had their lentil soup before, which is divine, but ungodly salty. I am usually satisfied by just having a bite of my sisters order, rather than ordering my own. We had baklava here (we actually took it home) - it was great! They have many different flavors, (walnuts & cinnamon, pistachios & honey, cashews with caramel, and hazelnuts & nutella) we opted for the pistachio & honey which is my favorite! Not the BEST I've ever had, but a really decent option! I've been back here so many times, and I know I will continue to do so. Solid restaurant with many options for lunch or dinner! The only drawback, is that this most recent time, there were an abundance of flies all around our table and the restaurant. It was pretty invasive, and had to keep swatting our table area to ensure they didn't land on our food or drinks - I know that it is difficult to control for this, but it felt excessive. Hope they do something about that soon! Service is friendly, if a bit slow. We had asked for extra tzatziki sauce midway through the meal and it was never delivered; totally not a deal breaker, but I would have liked some more. read more

My wife allowed me to pick somewhere new so this is what I chose. We weren't disappointed. The service was great and the food was really good. I got their signature dish and the presentation was pretty awesome. The lamb chop that came with my meal was probably the best I have ever eaten. The dish came with 3 kabobs. Chicken beef and a ground lamb/beef. The beef and chicken were awesome how ever the combo one tasted exactly like Salisbury steak from my 4th grade school. That's not necessarily a bad thing because it was one of my favorite lunches but at the same time it did taste very processed. My wife got chicken kabobs and as far as I can tell she loved them and she was a big fan of the cooscoos. Great service good food decent prices. We will back. The restaurant should also note that the menu prices on Ope Table are a a lot cheaper than what the actual menu is at the restaurant. I'm sure it's just an oversight tho. read more

The food I had here was wonderful, however the service was awful. I came once with a friend one afternoon during the week. It was both our first time and we were the only ones in the restaurant. Our waitress was simply bland, no personality, didn't seem interested in being there, and didn't give a very good explanation about the menu. A few tips in any restaurant, fill the water without asking, wait until we put the menus down to ask if we're ready, don't ask if I want you to take my empty plate in front of me, and don't just point to the desserts across the room when you're trying to sell something. We also were sitting by the window where we had the view of the outside seating area. All we kept seeing was our waitress, along with others, sitting on the bench smoking cigarettes and on their cell phones. In my opinion that is just unprofessional and unacceptable. Even if you do have only have one table, you should be happy to have one and conscious of what they see. Maybe I am being too critical, however. On another note, I enjoyed the warm pita bread served with an olive spread to start at the table. Our appetizer was the deliciously creamy hummus with chickpeas, garlic, tahini and lemon. Third, was the Moussaka which I loved, and I do not eat eggplant often! It was a very nice size portion, also served with couscous. My friend had the shish kebab, which she liked and completed the dish. We both ordered the baklava for dessert. I like baklava, but if you've never had it before it is very sweet and dense. You could choose to have one big serving slice or three small pieces, so I chose the three small. I will definitely come back for the food and quaint, modern atmosphere. I'd like to think our waitress was just having an off day. I have hopes to enjoy another meal and outing soon at Blue Fig. read more

Yum! It is the best description I can give this place. Pretty crowded for lunch but we were able to snag a seat, it is a seat yourself place. Quickly found what I was going to order and was happy to hear our order would be put in before the larger party. We had a hummus for the table and that came out pretty fast and it also went just as fast. You get little pitas with it and was perfect amount to start my lunch. Then I saw a great lunch deal for 10$ I was able to get kebab of grilled shrimp and veggies , along with quinoa and a side salad. I do not think you can beat this deal and it was all very light and fresh; perfect for lunch. If I had any room left I would have ordered a desert but opted for a coffee to go. Average with high prices and poor service. I read some of the reviews before I came in but decided to try for myself. The food was ok, not that great by any means. I tried kufta kebab, and ordered one of their cocktail strawberry juices, a minute later the waitress comes back to tell me they don't have it anymore but they have the mango one. I said mango is fine. The food came out shortly later but I guess They won't refill your water unless you ask for it and my juice wasn't here, I had to ask for it before I heard them starting it in the kitchen. I am giving Blue Fig 3 stars but honestly I'd like to give them 4. We went on a Friday night and the "hostess" was sitting at a table on her computer, did not greet us in any way other than to tell us to sit anywhere. At first we didn't know she worked there because there was no greeting whatsoever. Strike 1. We sat ourselves, it was surprisingly empty for a Friday night. The decor is very nice, with a small cafe feel. The table we sat at had a few bumps in the tabletop so we had to be careful where we placed our drink glasses, but not a big deal. Actually getting our drinks was a different story. There seemed to be 2 servers working the floor plus handling take out orders, rather than getting our drinks and then handling the pick-up, we were left sitting for 15 or so minutes no drinks and no food orders in. It was close to being the first time I left a restaurant. We finally got out drinks and placed our orders. Strike 2 We ordered the falafels and a hummus appetizer. Half (3 out of 6) the falafel appetizer was very good, the others were overcooked all the way through, I'm not sure if 3 were old and refried or what. The hummus was very good and the pitas were warm and tasted fresh. For entrees we had the Lamb Kabobs and the Tajen Kufta. Both were delicious, the lamb was a perfect medium rare on the kabobs and the Tajen Kufta was full of flavor. The rice was was just average brown rice with no added seasonings but mixed with the Kufta it didn't matter. The kabobs come with 3 dipping sauces, our server just dropped them off and started to walk way, we had to ask her what they were before she left the table. The food was delicious and considering giving it another try for that reason. read more

Food was amazing, HOWEVER I order lamp chops which was 22,99 in their website, when I got there my bill was 26,99$ and I asked the girl (cashier), she said probably is the tax and later she said the website is wrong, and she didn't honor the new price. $4 is a big difference. 2- the portion size is a lot smaller than in the restaurant, lamp chops came in the regular size but the sides were very small. Lackluster service with an unappealing menu. I ordered the kufta kabob, which tasted ok but was quite dry and looked like turds (I should have taken a picture. Not sure who gave this unappetizing entree the green light). My friend's entree was a soup but the menu said nothing about it being soup. The broth contained beef stock even though he made it clear he doesn't eat beef. They got his order wrong the first time, and by the time they corrected it I had finished eating. It ruined the experience but they gave us 10% off. Prices were high and they describe themselves as "upscale" but the waitress was wearing a t-shirt and jeans. My utensils were visibly dirty and I had to take a set from another table. They got my friend's order totally wrong even though there were only six customers in the place (including us).
