We are semi-regulars to this place and the quality has remained consistently top notch, with very nice service. I'm very fond of the interior which is charming and understated, with an area for prayer for Muslims which is exceptionally convenient. We got lamb shank with Kabuli Pulao and chicken kofta kebab with pulao. Both were absolutely amazing. The lamb is extremely soft and tender while being juicy at the same time. Their chicken kebab is amazing too; the rice is some of the best I've had. And we always generously douse it in their white sauce, some of the best sauce I've had. I think the flavor profile is great even for people who can't handle spice, it's flavorful and very manageable even for mild Western palates. My son and I have been having a ball trying different cultural foods for around the past four months. He wanted to try Afghani food, so I turned to Yelp for a nearby location, which brought us here. Props once again! We absolutely loved the rich decor, and even got to dine in the raised carpeted private and pillowed area. It was a lot of fun, and good thing I sit with my legs crisse crossed quite often because that's how we enjoyed our meal. So much fun! The Samosas were really good and not greasy at all (no Tamarind, boo), like other versions I've tried. Our meals were excellent, I just wasn't so sure about the bread, but no biggie. I liked the rice with our beef, chicken, and lamb, but it was a bit bland or something. All of the meats were amazingly tender and seasoned! The lamb shank is so tender fall off the bone delicious savory bits of morsels with a big serving. I can't eat it in one sitting, but my boys can. Excellent food. Friendly, kind owner. Great prices. This place should be more well known. I think the only reason its not is because the stores around it are closed at night. Go there, you wont regret it. An appetizer, two entrees (with salad), and bottled water was only around $40-$50 bucks. The only downside is they dont have tap water and you get charged 4% if not paying in cash- so dont forget to bring cash. EXCELLENT FOOD. We had the mantoo appetizer and I could just eat an entire plate of it. I've never had anything like it before and I'm from NYC. Dumplings stuffed with deliciously seasoned beef, some yellow lentils, a red sauce and a creamy topping. Yum. Love the white sauce they put in the table. My mon and I shared the Beef kofta, Lamb tikka, chicken tikka platter. The rice is different and so good. Everything is tender, fresh tasting and well seasoned. When we come back, we will just get the lamb. I wish they served more than one tiny slice of bread, though. Also, these are not American portions, i.e. huge, and I could have eaten almost the entire platter myself. Our 3rd time ordering delivery, so I am all the more confident in stating that this is the BEST chicken shawarma, chicken kofta, and lamb shawarma I've tried in our area, and the chicken kebab is up there as well! The food is CONSISTENTLY excellent. As you can tell from the photos, the seasoning is PERFECTION. Highly recommend adding the grilled tomato and grilled pepper (spicy and I love it!). Also very highly recommend adding the Qabeli option (cooked carrots and raisins mixed into the rice). Food is always hot and fresh upon delivery. When you crave something multiple times a week, that says something! Finally, a side note: I have gout and am very sensitive to additives like MSG, etc., and this food does NOT trigger my gout/give me flareups. A++ My visits here have been few and far in between and every time I kick myself for it being so long between visits... the flavors that you treat yourself to when eating here is something that you should definitely not deprive yourself from for too long. I have yet to have anything come close to the lamb shank and with qabeli palaw. It is a Afghan dish that marries flavors in the most beautiful way, and baba grill does it right. I've had a few apps to go with my entree and they are delicious. I haven't yet eaten in, but based off of my experiences ordering and picking up, I'm sure it would be a great experience. The customer service is pleasant and the restaurant in itself is cozy and airy. Do yourself a favor and treat you tastebuds to something different that you will not soon forget. read more

First time trying Afghan food. Was going for that mediterranean vibe and their food looked similar. The location is in a plaza with different other businesses including a Wawa off Route 130 and Church St. Went there with an idea of what I wanted and slightly changed. Wanted a couple chicken kebabs but changed to one chicken and one beef. It came with a delicious rice , some type of long grain with raisin in it, afghan bread, and a side salad with sauce. The kebabs were delicious, well seasoned and flavorful. Only thing they were a tid bit small. Plan on getting 3-4 if you hungry. I got two of them and they were enough and satisfying. read more

I was around the area and looked for top rated restaurants near cherry hill. Yelp resources did not disappoint and referred me to this afghani restaurant, which was highly rated. It's a rarity to find authentic places like these. Everything about the place was impeccable from service, to ambiance, to the food. The owner was super polite and attentive. The tables and chairs were nicely draped with table cloths. The food was delicious and authentic. My friend and I both ordered the #1 combo which came with lamb and chicken tikka with beef kofta ( really gives you the best of all meats they have to offer). The rice and meats were wonderful and it came with a creamy yogurt sauce. It's a shame this place was empty and I hope they get more publicity. Seriously, the best kebabs you will find around. The chicken, the lamb, the shank, the chicken all the meat is perfectly fresh, seasoned grilled and served. I've eaten there multiple times and I've never had a bad meal. I love the first salad that comes with it, just enough some field, greens and lettuce, tomato cucumber, a little bit of the white sauce a wonderful keto friendly meal as long as you keep away from the delicious rice with raisins and carrots. Went here to dine in. It was nicely decorated inside showing the Afghan culture. The place was empty when we went. There was only 1 person doing both the takeout and who took our orders. Seems like he had his hands full the entire time as people kept coming in for takeouts. The food was really good. It was seasoned perfectly. I got the beef tikka & chicken kofta. It came with rice, salad, a small square piece of bread, and the white/green sauce condiments. My main complaint was the portions size was small compared to other Afghan restaurants I've been to for the price. I did not feel stuffed after I ate and I don't need much to fill me up. Also I wished the bread was larger. It wasn't the typical naan bread, it was the Afghan square bread you get the Middle Eastern store that looked like it was toasted. Not the experience I was expecting. Ambiance was near zero. We arrived to a restaurant with lighting switched to party-mode, but there was no music. This was the first restaurant I dined at with no background music. The festive decor was just a sham as I felt like we were at a funeral. There was no wafting of the aromas of authentic cooking, which was concerning as we seated ourselves next to the kitchen entrance. Started with the eggplant and samosas. The table bread was two day old tough and tasted store bought. The samosas were good, crispy and tasted fresh, the eggplant was ok, on the bland side. The main course arrived; we had Lamb Tikka, Chicken Tikka and Falafel. The Lamb Tikka was an utterly disappointing show of tiny, overly done and dry cubes of meat on a plate dominated by rice, looking absolutely nothing like the menu photo. Tasting the lamb didn't reveal any surprises as the only spice I tasted was salt. I can't imagine a restaurant specializing in middle eastern cuisine would not have fresh lamb. I have had better off of a street cart. Service was marginal. We had to purchase bottled water part way through the meal as no beverages were offered.
