I am not sure how one man (it would appear) does it all. I can get my Afghan cuisine fix now in NJ. The kebabs, tikka and kofta are delish. Seasoned perfectly, cooked through. The rice is also quite good. We have had family platters, as well as individual meals. Never had anything subpar. If I had a nit, it would be the protein to rice ratio, but given the prices, one cannot complain. We have only done takeout-that said the restaurant is clean, spaciously laid out and nicely appointed with Afghan/Middle Eastern art. Note-the chef/owner/one man show does run out of options at times. He will recommend and or accept substitutions. Be patient if you run into this, the food is worth it. read more

This place is my go-to for amazing Middle-Eastern food (I've only been here for takeout). I've never had a bad meal here. Recent favorites are Gyro, Falafel, and Chicken Tikka. Rice platter, sandwich: all are solidly-portioned and delicious-af. The meats are grilled by a freaking master. Cooked thoroughly, nicely seared, super tender, and sooooooo juicy (everytime I don't get a chicken dish as an extra entree I regret it; I don't think I've ever had chicken as well-cooked as it is here; especially breast-meat). Seasoning tastes simple but is super flavorful. Rice is good; very lightly-seasoned and I like how it pairs with the meats. White sauce is good without over-powering the meat. Bread is simple. Fluffy, with a little chewiness. Only things I wish for: -More white sauce; it's a REALLY tiny cup they give; maybe 1oz. -More bread; years back they used to give a large portion that was close-to absurd; they've swung too far in the other direction. A little odd (not sure if it's new): they charge a service fee. Don't know if it's standard across the board, or for takeout only, or for credit card payments; it's tiny, less than 3% I think. read more

Excellent place! Very elegant, but yet very simple at the same time. They have Middle Eastern dishes along with American. Prices were very fair and the place was clean. We ordered from Baba Grill for the first time tonight for some last minute take out and it was absolutely fantastic. We tried the beef kofta, lamb tikka and chicken tikka with rice as well as the lamb shank with qabeli palaw. Both dishes were flavorful and equally enjoyed but I have to say I could eat the lamb shank every day! The restaurant decor was very nice. The staff was warm and welcoming. This restaurant is a pleasant addition in a town dominated by pizza places and diners. I'm already looking forward to going back again. read more

You could tell everything was homemade and the chicken and lamb were both very flavorful and tasty! I liked how they put the lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers in a separate container. The food here is great! The rice and kabobs (all of them) are made really really well - super juicy and flavorful. The Bolani is a must try and is super crispy and good as well. But the reason Im giving this restaurant 2 stars is because the service here is the worst I have ever experienced in my life and I have been to many many restaurants. It always takes us an average of 1 hour wait time - no exaggeration just to get our apps to us at least. They dont bring out all the food at once and so half the table is finished by the time the other half starts eating which is very unprofessional on their part. They bring out the cups, water and salad one at a time. Our bread for our meals came out half hour later and by the time it came out - we were done with our meals. The service is just horrible, absolutely horrible. It is frustrating every time. If they dont fix their service, this place will run out of business regardless of how good the food is. It just isnt worth it to be frustrated and upset at the end of the day. Super unfortunate for them as I know too many people who complain about the same thing with this restaurant. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get more waiters on the floor and get the food out more quickly to customers. Nobody wants to wait an hour or more for food to come out, or for cups, napkins, utensils etc. I would come here once a week if the service gets better. read more

Although the food was good, the service wasn't all that great.
