We ordered the lamb-beef gyro and lamb Adana platter and it was more than we could have expected, both in flavor and portion size. I had enough to last 2 meals. We actually had different plans but I shouted STOP to the driver as we headed towards another restaurant. So, we turned around and found an old fashioned quarter parking meter. I've been meaning to try this place ever since I heard about them in the news. If you aren't, the immigrant family who owns this business has been targeted by ICE recently. Thankfully the local community has stood up and supported them, but their struggle is not over. Being unfamiliar with Turkish food, I decided to have the Lamb Kebab Platter, which seemed like a good place to start. The food was delicious and freshly prepared. No frozen and reheated mass-produced junk food hero. The lamb was tender and juicy and full of flavor. The rice was nicely seasoned and the vegetables were all fresh and delicious. I finished everything on my plate and I look forward to returning soon to try some other dishes. If you want delicious food that isn't your everyday American burgers fried stuff, you need to go here. Even better, you are supporting a small family-owned business that is giving back to its community, despite efforts by our government to run them out of the country. Friendly family owned restaurant. Food is fresh and comes out hot. I enjoyed my Chicken Adana Kebab Platter - I liked the slight spiciness to this dish. The meat was a tad bit dry but the yogurt sauce went well with it. Chicken shish with vegetables was also delicious. The kebabs were tender and moist. We enjoyed the Turkish caramel tres leches cake. In the mood for some good Middle Eastern food, we did a search on Yelp, liked the reviews for Jersey Kebab, and called in an order for pickup. Picking up the food, I saw that the place is not large--there are five tables, but it's attractively decorated and clean. The bakery case was filled with delicious looking desserts. Our order consisted of a chicken gyro, a chicken adana, and cold chocolate milky baklava. Everything was perfectly seasoned and tasty, but the standout for us was the cold chocolate milky baklava, which was truly outstanding! The service was friendly and efficient. Come hungry! I ordered a beef gyro wrap with fries, and it was huge. I ended up only finishing half. Staff was very friendly and were helpful with making my order exactly as I wanted it. I even asked if I could taste test one of their falafels, which they happily provided. Overall, the taste of the beef gyro was seasoned well, and to me tasted like it was made from scratch and not from a pre-made frozen vendor item. Very nice and small, family owned Mediterranean restaurant (I believe Turkish?) right on Haddon Ave. We stopped in on a Sunday night and Jersey Kebab's small amount of tables were totally full, so we ordered take out. There is seating for 12-14 people maximum. They were also doing a very good take out business so everyone was hustling and busy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We ordered the Lentil soup which was thick and hearty and very well seasoned. We also ordered the Adana Kebab platter which came with two types of rice, a salad and Pita bread. This was also very good. We additionally had a wrap that was very tasty. While we were waiting for our food, we were able to observe many dishes being served to a large party. Everything looked really delicious. We can't wait to go back and try some other menus items. Hopefully this will push Jersey Kebab up to 5 stars! The space is simple but clean. Let me start off by saying, I am a "faux expert" on Mediterranean foods (in my head). I eat something Halal and/or Mediterranean style, nearly every day of my life. I was in the gym 2 weeks ago, and was approached by a guy named Muhammed. He was clearly into bodybuilding based on his look and physique, so I figured we'd have a typical gym conversation... "what are you working out today," or "what's your max on bench" ...or something like that. It caught me by surprise when he asked me if I liked Halal food. He proceeded to tell me that his family owned and operated a Mediterranean restaurant nearby, and told me to come check it out. From my time deployed overseas, in Europe and the Middle East, I had eaten some of the best Mediterranean foods on the planet. So needless to say, I wasn't necessarily in a rush to go. Three days ago, on my way to the gym, I decided to stop by Muhammed's Family's restaurant, Jersey Kabab. I figured I'd at least show my face and purchase something, just to show support. The restaurant is in a very beautiful and vibrant location, lined with tons of shops and unique restaurants. The inside is decorated in beautiful Arabic decor, perfectly fit for Halal style dining. Nevertheless, I got my food to-go, just in case I wasn't impressed by the taste. I ordered the Beef-Lamb Gyro Platter. WELL LISTEN, LISTEN, LISTEN... I received my order, went to my car and opened the to-go box packed full of food. I took a fork full of lamb and rice, and OMGGGGG, I was absolutely blown away! This food was so good that I sat in my car and started rocking my head back and forth, humming some ridiculous made up tune, while I devoured half of this platter. It just didn't make any sense! I LITERALLY COULD NOT STOP EATING! The more I ate, the louder I hummed. The large portions of Beef and Lamb came with a huge serving of Turkish White Rice, Wheat Bulgur Rice, a Large Roasted Tomato, and a Large Roasted Pepper. It also came with Pita Bread, White Sauce and a side salad. The Lamb and Beef were deliciously seasoned to perfection, tender and succulent. The rice was fluffy. The White Tzatziki sauce was creamy and smooth, with a hint of tart. The salad was made with fresh crisp cucumbers and tomatoes. The large Roasted Tomato and Pepper was so savory and juicy, with a roasted char on the outside. I am not exaggerating when I say, this is the best Mediterranean food I have ever had in my life! I eventually made it to the gym. However, during my workout, all I kept thinking about is the rest of that food sitting by itself, alone, and sad in my car. So 15 about minutes into my 1 hour workout, I couldn't bare the thought of that food being lonely anymore, and I had to go rescue it. I hurried back to my car and sat in the gym parking lot, stuffing my face with all of that deliciousness. I never made in back inside the gym that day. My final words... JUST GO TO THIS PLACE!!! Don't even think about it. You're wasting time. Believe me, I've been all around the World... literally, and there are no suitable substitutes for this food! It is a MUST HAVE! You will not be disappointed whatsoever. P.S. Ask for the Baklava Cheesecake... OMG!!!! read more
