Tasty food, quick service, and a family-friendly environment. The restaurant interior & music are pretty dated - 80s vibe, but it didn't bother us one bit. I appreciated that they installed a baby changing station, as not all restaurants do this.

Wanted to go somewhere for cake for birthday. We went to the Blue Dolphin. We have eaten many meals there but bot usually dessert people. Well they learned we had a Birthday and went above and beyond. Staff sung to us. The cake was amazing. We couldn't finish it all and took it home. Great experience and wonderful place. Will be back again for meals soon

No problem here is everything was good. It's been 30 years last time I stepped in here. So nostalgic. Like nothing ever changed. Friendly staff and fast service. Big truck parking next door is a positive

I visited this place nine months ago and did write the review. I was reminded about it again and decided to write about it. It was during still heavy mask required time for Covid-19's and I had to visit this hotel property next door for a listing so money talked and took a chance with masked meeting and stopped in for a late lunch. My photos reminded me of what I had ordered being vegetarian since almost none fitted my choice. Grilled cheese without bacon or eggs was the order and for veggies of course no meat version . Waitress had to make sure before serving the food !! As you would notice that both items came out really appetizing and enjoyed the stop before heading home.

a plate of food and a fork

So went to eat there today with my family had the worst experience ever. We waited for over 45 mins for our food 52 mins before our waitress came to check on us. The bus girl got our drinks and food. Our experience was like this before but we wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt. Too bad we really liked it there. Also the smell in the back room where the tables are had a bad smell. Just my two cents take as you may...

I'm surprised that I don't have a published review of this establishment since I have been here several times. I even brought my mother once. In previous occasions It has been weekend drive stops. I can not remember if it was a menu item or a Special, but I tried their Prime Ribs cooked to order and there were delicious meals. I liked the Lemon Greek Soup. A whole small round loaf is brought with plenty of butter to the table. Very good. When Mom came we had the Spared Ribs Dinner. We enjoyed that and a very big piece of Chocolate Cake my Mom's favorite. I started with the Lemon Greek Soup. This time I had the Chicken Garlic over Tortellini. Delicious. Even cold the next day left over as a salad. A refreshing Raspberry Iced Tea to drink. Service has always being nice and friendly.

Shrimp cocktail-- DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF ORDERING THESE FECES FILLED SHRIMP! Not cleaned

DO NOT COME HERE!! Go to Perkins next door! ************************************************* When we first walked in, there was a line of people waiting and we were told there would be a wait. Obvious. There were plenty of booths open though. We just sat at the bar. Our waitress was Marissa. She brought our drinks out and took our order. My boyfriend ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and shrimp cocktail. She said their sauce is a sweet tomato sauce. I don't like sweet so I didn't want that. I ordered the gyro after tasting the sauce and sending the disgusting shrimp cocktail back. My boyfriends friend ordered the breakfast omelette. The pasta came with a Greek salad. The Greek salad tasted as though the lettuce was not washed. The leaves were slightly browned and not fresh. The only good thing about it was the feta cheese. The spaghetti was typical diner spaghetti. Nothing special. The tomato sauce is on the sweet side, just as marissa said. Personally, I didn't like it. The two meatballs it comes with were flavorless, small, and dry. We didn't eat them. His friend ate them and didn't like them either. Just hungry. We can't recommend this dish if you make the mistake of coming here. His friends omelette was average. It's an omelette and it's pretty hard to mess that up (unless it's undercooked or over cooked lol). DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF ORDERING THE OVERPRICED DIRTY SHRIMP COCKTAIL!!!!! She brought this out and I immediately noticed one of the shrimp was not even cleaned. Inedible. How could a chef serve this?! We sent that one back. Upon trying the other shrimp I thought were actually cleaned, found ANOTHER shrimp that was not cleaned. WTF. Done. Sent the dish back. My boyfriend asked a different waitress if it could please be removed from the bill and we would get the gyro instead. Gyro is average for a diner. Again the lettuce was brown and not fresh. Otherwise it was ok. Fries were plain. Didn't eat them. The coleslaw was brown, visually could see it's not fresh. Didn't touch that either. Marissa never returned to check on us. She was absent a majority of our visit here. Bad service guys!! Come on now. It's their job to check on their customers and make sure everything is okay. Ridiculous. We had to stop other busy waitresses and ask for their help. Felt bad for them. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!!! Especially with Perkins next door. Our mistake coming here. We ask a waitress walking by if we could please get our check. Marissa gives us the check and bolts in the middle of my boyfriend saying he will give her his card right now. Good thing though because we notice the shrimp is clearly still on there!!!! A different waitress comes over and says "Marissa is very busy and she will be taking over for her soon anyway if she can help." He says the shrimp shouldn't be on there since we couldn't eat it. She replies "the girl with the glasses at the register can help." So we go to the register. The girl with the glasses said "you ate them all though." We say no we didn't because there were uncleaned shrimp and we had to send it back. She goes to confirm this with the waitress. Comes back and says she "can't take that off the manager has to but he left to take a nap at home since he was there since 5am." So we had to pay for the shrimp we didn't eat and sent back because they were full of feces. $51 for three people. Too much for a P.O.S. diner!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. A manager should be present at all times for quality control. If I could give less than one star, this place has earned it today. Shame. The three nice women sitting next to us were unsatisfied with their dishes as well. It was nice we all got to share our disappointment together! Lol ****PS. Go to Perkins next door!!**** :)

For me, they are best eaten with limited toppings and no sauce. I'm not a huge fan of their burger sauce but others seem to like it but if you leave the sauce you get the full flavor of the burger and seasoning. I recently had to make a visit with a group to that place where there are nearly half a dozen guys that make burgers and as a test, I tried eating it the same way I'd eat it at here and discovered there was absolutely NO flavor. The best way to find out if a place makes good burgers is to eat it plain with little to nothing on it because if they are covering it all up with add-ons, they don't have a good burger, they just have cooked meat. TKC doesn't need the sauce but it's there if you want it. Better yet, they are reasonably priced and less expensive than any other burger joint in the area. (We are talking GOOD burgers here, not the fast food chains but even then...still probably cheaper.) Second, they have a fantastic hot honey chicken sandwich that has a lot of chicken on it. It is fried perfectly and the hot honey adds just the right touch of sweet and spicy to give it a wonderful flavor. Finally, sides of onion rings and fries are all done perfectly. I think personally the onion rings have the WIN here but either way you can't go wrong. Oh, and they have ice cream! That isn't the highlight for me, but they have a decent selection of flavors and are reasonably priced. My choice is the non-dairy cookie dough and peanut butter (I think I have the flavor right) and it tastes great. This place seems to always be busy and the owner is always cheerful and friendly. Do yourself a favor and make a visit and in the process support a wonderful local business! You won't regret it. P.S. Adding this - I've taken multiple people here over the past few months and not had a single person disagree with me on how great this place is. So, while the review is mine, I'm quite certain my family and friends would give the exact same 5-star review here.

We had a great table on the water. It was a busy Saturday afternoon, and the place was packed. The staff did a great job managing the work flow. Clearly an experienced group of people. We ordered the top item on the menu, the cheese steak sandwich, added some peppers. It was quite good. The fries here are and definitely get an order. The problem happened when I ordered the house burger- another top menu item. I asked for "medium rare", which should have a hot center but some pink left. What I got was well done- and dry as the desert. I had to drink a lot of water to wash it down. Normally-if this was a steak, I'd send it back. But- it was a burger and the kitchen was already jammed, so I choked it down- I was really hungry. I would not order the steak here- pretty sure a 6 ounce filet would end badly. Other dishes being served at other tables looked great. I would come back here. It's a great place. Thus- 5 stars.

Fourth of July 2025 weekend, I finally had a chance to grab a burger with them and holy moly, they were so right - This might be the best burger I've ever eaten! We arrived around 3:30pm on a Saturday and were pleasantly surprised to grab a parking spot on the street, practically right in front of the entrance to Butcher's Son! They're located at one end of Market St. in Corning, now I don't frequent Corning often so I don't know if there's a big parking lot or more side streets to park along, but I could definitely foresee this street being packed with people and cars during the week. I think the time we arrived was a big part as to why we had no trouble getting a parking spot as well as being able to easily find a table after placing our order. The three of us walked in and it really is a butcher shop that has a small menu of burgers, fries, and specialty sandwiches (I saw a steak sandwich on their menu). There was a large, bar-style table with stools to sit along in the front with a station full of cutlery, napkins, packaged ketchup, stuff like that, nothing too fancy but clean and orderly. A courteous, friendly gentleman took our food order and told us to grab a seat anywhere we like and they'd get our food to us. We ended up taking over one of the tables, with an umbrella, outside and we were the only ones out there! It was nice to sit, talk, hang out for a bit, the relaxed, quiet atmosphere was nice. About 10-15 minutes later, all of orders were boxed up and brought out to us. For my late lunch/early dinner meal, I ordered the Fun Guy Burger, which is two smashed beef patties topped with sautéed mushrooms and onions, bacon jam, and Swiss cheese, along with a side of their hand-cut shoestring fries. Oh. My. Goodness! Wow, was this burger out of this world good. That had to be the freshest, juiciest, perfectly-cooked burger patties I have ever eaten. There were tons of sautéed mushrooms and onions on top and they were incredibly generous with the bacon jam. The Swiss cheese was melted just right and paired so well with the other toppings. The bun was toasted and held everything together very well. The burger itself is big and is honestly the perfect portion as you'll certainly be full without feeling any sort of "meat sweats"! haha They were very generous with the portion of fries as well. Personally, I liked the way these fries were cooked where they weren't crispy/crunchy but they weren't limp at all. Whatever they were fried in gave these fries an awesome flavor without having a ton of salt and pepper thrown on them. I really liked their fries; I'm not a huge fry-person but these would probably be at the top of my list. Another thing that I have to call out was how reasonable their prices were. Coming from Buffalo, burger prices are really expensive for what you get but Butcher's Son, my meal - burgers, fries, water, probably came near $20, maybe a few cents over that, which in 2025, is phenomenal value! My family told me that Butcher's Son came in first place in the New York Beef Council's "Best NY Burger" competition for 2025. My family and the competition judges are spot on and Butcher's Son totally deserves, and earned, the accolades and awards. Everything from the staff, the focused menu, the quality food, the portions, are great! Next time I'm in Corning, I can't wait to come back here and grab another burger and fries!

I stopped at this location a couple days ago because well we were headed to the grocery store and you don't want to go to a Wegmans if you're hungry. You'll spend a whole lot more money. So because we were already nearby anyways we stopped in. Wasn't really sure what to get so went with just the basic cheeseburger and a normal size french fry. I had read reviews before about five guys and I forgotten until was there but when you order a normal size french fry or any size french fry for that matter, they place the container of fries into your bag very very carefully as not to spill any, and then they take a big ol' scoop of french fries in addition to that and dump them into the bag on top of everything. So you get plenty of fries. The burgers were incredible, very juicy, had some decent flavor, and we ordered them "all the way" which comes with lettuce pickle tomato onion etc.. The fries were tasty enough that we didn't add any ketchup or mayonnaise or anything. The staff behind the counter were super friendly, and they actually seemed happy to have jobs at a burger place. I say it like that because we've all been to a McDonald's for example and seen just the grumpy people that work there walking around like they could give a crap about anything. The crew at this five guys seemed like they were having a good time even though they were working. The place was also pretty clean, lots of tables to choose from.
