    Life is short....dessert first!

How can anyone give Blue Bonnet Cafe less than 5 stars? This has been a breakfast go to for 20 plus years. Life is uncertain so I do pie first. This visit it was German chocolate pie with coffee. Delish! When we arrived we were in an out the door 20 foot line. Within 10 minutes we were sitting in a nice booth. Life is blessed. We Followed up dessert with two eggs, grits, ham, biscuits and gravy! My wife hand an egg scrambled with ham and hash browns. Lol..she couldn't eat it all. Good portions here. Definitely stop in, be polite and tip well. Remember they only have pies for you! I recommend Blue Bonnet Cafe!

Nothing better than good old home cooking and comfort food! And this is the place for all of that. Husband gets a piece of pie to start, then biscuits and gravy, eggs and ham. I stick with the basic one egg, ham, hash browns and toast. Accompanied by a cup of coffee and all is good! BBC is a main stay staple here in Marble Falls and gets very busy. The line out the door moves pretty fast. Once seated food comes out quickly too. They are so organized and they know how to handle the breakfast/all day crowds. A definite must do if in this area.

The place was packed and I waited about 15 minutes to get a table. The Blue Bonnet Cafe is widely known, and it was no problem to wait my turn. Lunch: Chicken Fried Steak Carrots Salad with Honey Mustard French Fries Apple pie Tea Food is always great and hot! Waitress was there when I needed her. Great job!! While you are waiting, look around, there is always something interesting hanging on the walls.

Bluebonnet Cafe is known for southern home cooking and has been around since the 1920's. Usually there is a line but they move it quickly. Everything from pancakes to chicken fried steak just forget the diet this is for cheat day. Ordered the chicken fried chicken and they serve each entree with three sides. Bluebonnet is also known for their pies and while the lemon meringue always sells out I'm partial to the peanut butter cream. Definitely stop in for that southern comfort fix.

Yes highly recommend this cafe. They have a great breakfast and most of all the pastures and bakery they have is Amazing. The lady who took my ord e r was friendly and fast. Give a small town vibe cafe but brings big city taste to the table. Clean and will definelty be back

Oh My Gosh! We had the best experience eating at Bluebonnet Cafe. The staff was amazing and Campbell M. Was so kind & helpful that i remembered her name, so i could let you know how great she was to us! The chicken & dumplings was delicious and the lemon meringue pie was awesome! The restaurant is located in Marble Falls! It's a cute and very crowded place to eat! But the food nor service suffered at all! It's nice and clean also!

Ok, so we did NOT dine in, but instead got one of there legendary Pecan Pies to-go as soon as we got to Marble Falls. Best decision ever! Like, wow! I see now why this place is so popular and everyone raves about their pies. It's literally perfection. This beauty was $19 and worth every last penny. Love me some Marble Falls. And this pie is worth the trip back alone!

plate sized pancakes and tasty too!

The Blue Bonnet Cafe is an iconic diner with fabulous pies. Generous portions - the 2 pancakes were huge! Entrees come with 3 sides plus gravy. Everything tasted fresh and nicely seasoned. The chicken fried chicken was excellent. I ordered a slice of apple pie and it was well worth the drive!!! So excited for a taste of the apple pie that I forgot to take a picture. Gender specific restrooms plenty of free parking out back fast, friendly servers and hostess

Best little pie place in Texas! BBC is an adorable little cafe with good food and amazing pies! They serve breakfast all day, but you can eat lunch or dinner food if you prefer. I always go breakfast, so I tried the western omelet. My sister had the combination omelet. They are not stingy with the fillings! The combo omelet was almost so filling that my sister couldn't eat pie. But don't worry, she just took some home instead of missing out on the best pie in Texas! My sister didn't love the hash browns because she likes the crispier, but my bro-in-law enjoyed them. My brother-in-law enjoyed the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes. My little niece doesn't eat much food that's not McD's but she ate all her bacon and half her pancake at BBC. Must mean it's good! Well done, guys! Just for the sake of a good yelp review, we tried 4 kinds of pie. You're welcome. The favorite was the coconut cream pie. It is proportioned perfectly with just the right amount of crispy crust, delicious filling and lovely cream. I bought a whole one because supporting local businesses is important...yeah, that's why! The German chocolate pie was not overly sweet and is really filling. The chocolate cream pie tasted almost dark chocolaty without being fudgey at all. Wish tried the fudge pie; next time! The lemon meringue pie was perfectly tangy and sweet. How do they get the meringue so high?! Service was fast and friendly. When my niece poured (spilled) her water on the table, floor, me and my sister, the whole wait staff seemed to jump over with napkins and towels. They were great. I'd drive to Marble Falls just for Blue Bonnet Cafe!

Of course we ate at the Blue Bonnet Cafe when we visited Marble Falls. An icon since 1929 and featured in so many TV shows, magazines and "must go" lists, we wanted to check it (and their famous pies) out for ourselves. Even picking a time we thought the crowd would be lighter, the line was out the door. If the same happens to you, don't let a little line deter you. Once inside the door you snake single file down a short hallway and around corner but they've got a system that works. So said the very nice hostess when I asked how she kept the line moving so quickly. Daily specials include enchiladas (and homemade salsa) on Fridays. I was almost a taker of said special but then I spied my favorite never-see-it-on-the-menu meal and I only had eyes for the liver and onions!! They serve complimentary bisquits and cornbread (yep, its a country kinda place) but surprisingly no sweet tea. Sides include mashed red potatoes, corn on the cob, pinto beans and buttered spinach. I thought I was at grandma's! Other than onions being diced and not sliced, I was happy with my meal. I was very very happy with the service. And the pie? Had to take it to go! Delicious coconut meringue. It didn't disappoint a few hours later. One thing I liked about Blue Bonnet Cafe was how everyone felt at home there. I saw a guy in a Metallica tshirt next to a table of seniors who were seated next to a family with little kids. I heard snippets of other languages and lots of laughter and saw ballcaps from rival colleges and universities and various political affiliations. Everyone found peace (and a piece!) at the Blue Bonnet Cafe!

This is a must-try with all the roadtrips through Marble Falls have never failed to mentioned the famous Blue Bonnet cafe! We were so hyped to try their world famous pies! The restaurant was really old and they have preserved the ambiance and it takes you back through decades. It had good 15 min wait-time. My order: Coconut Meringue pie Lemon cream pie Vegetable with cheese omelette Grits on the side I usually don't like pies but these were not close to the regular dry pies like the apple pies. These were creamy and the base was not thick. Loved the lemon cream pie, especially the after taste. Grits came out bland, obviously, and added some seasons. The omelette were well made and they were good. Will return to try the other pies.

If you find yourself in Marble Falls this is a location you need to stop at!

We decided to stop by this location and give it a try in Marble Falls Texas. As we walked in the waitress greeted us and took us to our table. The rooms were large and several could be seated in this large restaurant. The food we ordered was great! Hamburger steak and onions with : side salad, tortilla soup and mashed potatoes with brown gravy. Home made rolls and home made corn bread were served as we were seated. Liver and onions Side salad, buttered carrots and chicken tortilla soup. The meal and drinks with desert to go was 47.00 The waitress was great at taking care of her customers and received a great tip for all her hard work. I will be back to this location again.

This place was excellent! Large portions and the bacon was PERFECT!! I'm happy I live out of town because I would be in there every day! Service was great too! They were super busy and still got our order right and took great care of us!

I just moved back to the area. I vaguely remember their being a birthday treat. Does my mind deceive me? If that is something you do, how do I get signed up?

There is a birthday card you get for a free meal and a piece of pie. I believe I signed up in the restaurant. They send you a card in the mail during your birthday month.

I saw it was "A Very Merry Tamale Day" and thought of trying some tamales. I had called on the way up and asked if they sold the Tamales just hot or also frozen and they said both. The price was $24 for a dozen. We looked at the menu and asked some questions from the waitress so she gave us a few minutes as we looked over the Tamale Day menu. She told us the only item not available was the Pork w/Habanero Tamale. We decided on the Solo Tamales which are a 4-Tamale entree and the Veracruz Tamale which I wanted a la carte w/o the beans and rice. The waitress said that would be $8 vs. the entree which was $12. She said it was a big tamale as I asked what the difference was between a regular tamale and this one wrapped in a Banana Leaf? I was intrigued! For the Solo Tamales, we chose 2 Chicken Tamales, Pork & the Chicken & Cream Cheese. I wasn't interested in the Spinach and Mushroom. After a few minutes, we were served the Tamales. We split the 4-Tamales so we could try each flavor. The Chicken & Cream Cheese Tamale was surprisingly tasty since it had the Cream Cheese inside. The Pork and Chicken had a red seasoning so you couldn't distinguish between Pork and Chicken. I'd say the ratio of meat to Masa on the chicken was more Masa. It wasn't something to write home about. The huge Veracruz Tamale was moist, very flavorful, had lots of tender meat and so tasty that I finished the whole thing!! It was nice to have the sour cream dollop, shredded lettuce and pico de gallo on the side. I would've ordered a few to take home if we weren't planning on window shopping. The decor is rustic with lots of wood in the booths & on the ceiling. The place was pretty quiet as there wasn't any music playing and only one other booth had folks until we left where another set of customers sat in the front table by the entrance. It would've been nice if they had napkin dispensers on the tables. The tabletop seemed kinda sticky. Bathrooms are ample but the middle bathroom is very short in depth between the door and toilet. Place is pretty casual and there's seating in the back patio.
