I studied the menu intensely to pick out the best choice based on reviews so I got the Tuesday special chicken and dumplings. It was the worse meal I have ever had. The dry chicken was thrown on the plate with a few dumplings that did not even taste like dumplings. The red- skinned homemade mashed potatoes were instant with an instant brown gravy over it. Spinach was from a can and the carrots were the best thing on my plate. No seasoning on anything. I would not go back to this restaurant. What a huge disappointment. read more

I can only speak on the pie! So fair warning my review is only about the pie and the service. We chose to check this place out agate hearing from several locals that this is a staple and one of the first businesses established in Marble Falls. It was pie happy hour which happens Monday- Friday 3-5pm. We got in a few minutes early and they allowed us to still get happy hour pricing. They are very organized and it gives vintage old school cafe vibes. Our waiter Bella was great and gave us a good insight on which are the must try pies. We went with Peach, lemon cream, apple, and banana cream. All were pretty delicious. Our least favorite was the banana cream way to many bananas but still tasty. The peach pie and apple pie came slightly warmed and the lemon and banana came cooled. I would gladly walk out with a peach pie and lemon cream both flavorful and worth the stop. read more

Stop at this cafe after leaving Inks Lake Park on a Sunday. It was consistently busy but the wait wasn't more than 10-15 mins. Typical diner decor and ambiance. Employees were polite as they kept up with the crowd. Food is very affordable and delicious. The menu ranges from American breakfast to dinner and some Mexican cuisine. Pancakes and omelettes were huge. Food arrived in about 10 mins after ordering. They have a lot of pies (slice and whole to and milkshake options. Will be back when in the area. read more

Been going there since I was a kid. Nothing has changed except they now take credit cards. We were there on a Friday mid morning and it was busy, but no wait like they usually have. Service was good as always and the food was hot and pretty good. My liver and onions though was served almost burnt. I sent it back and they brought out one just as bad. So I ate the bites that weren't too burnt and filled up on my veggies and cornbread. I opted for chocolate meringue pie instead of my usual lemon meringue. It was yummy as expected. Making a pie decision here is a real challenge! It's over 50 years old and the feel of the restaurant is exactly as I have always remembered it since my childhood. And that's a good thing! read more

We haven't been here in seven months. It's 11:00 am and the place is bustling. This is the first time we have ever seen a male waiter. He was very prompt in getting our drinks and complimentary rolls and cornbread. The roll I sampled was warm and delicious. The butter was ice cold so you might want to hold it to soften it up some. I ordered mama's pot roast with mashed potatoes, spinach, and tortilla soup. I got a huge portion of meat with my order. The mashers and spinach were good. The tortilla soup was lacking. It didn't taste like the tortilla soup that other restaurants serve. I do not recommend it. They seem to be fully staffed with wait persons and busing staff. Tables are quickly cleared and cleaned for the next guests. I got a slice of apple pie to go because was completely full at the end of my meal. read more

This little gem has been operating since 1929. We recently moved to TX and came down to Marble Falls to get our drivers license taken care of. Stopped here afterwards for lunch. Homemade food and a homey atmosphere with fantastic service. We ordered a slice of coconut cream pie and loved it. Ended up buying a whole pie as I knew I would want more later. Since it's not a far drive we will be coming down again for another meal! read more

I revisited this place with fond memories of my father, though I don't recall much else. But it's still open, so it can't be that bad. Inside, pies catch your eye, showed off in a glass case near the entrance. Even enticing some older customers to bring home a sweet treat. I'd return just for the pies if I lived closer. There's not a whole lot going on, but there's plenty of room. It's a lot bigger than it looks outside. You can tell this place has a lot of history to it. After a short wait, I ordered the Tuesday special: chicken and dumplings (dark meat), corn, potatoes, and a salad. It came fast, and it was tasty, especially the chicken n dumplings, as well as the potatoes covered in white gravy. The salad was just fine, yet the bowl was too hard to eat from. The cornbread and rolls were okay but not amazing (needs more corn and some moisture). Despite small issues, it was a good experience, and I'd go back. The pecan pie I got to go. It was incredible! Sweet, succulent, crunchy goodness, it making my mouth watering just thinking about it. A perfect ending for my day. read more

You can choose from the following: apple, no sugar-added apple, cherry, peach, pecan, fudge, chocolate cream, chocolate meringue, German chocolate cream, peanut butter cream... They even have milk shakes where you can choose from 16 oz. of chocolate, strawberry, vanilla, or make it a malt. I brought my kids and nephew here to eat after we worked up an appetite from visiting the Longhorn Caverns Texas State park down the roadway. I ordered the 8oz country fried steak with mashed potatoes, salad, and Italian green beans. All of my food was delicious. However, my country fired steak was a pain to cut and I had to chew for it a while before I swallowed it down. I felt like if I didn't I was going to choke. My daughter ordered the Mexican dinner. She ate her entire plate. My son ordered the chicken tender adult meal and ate how entire plate. Finally my nephew ordered just a cheeseburger with chips. Parking is like going through a maze, but plenty of parking to choose from and spacious for larger vehicles. Their milkshakes are really delicious. I didn't get to order my pie because they were out of the chocolate cream pie. I have been before with my family for breakfast in the past. They serve breakfast all day! Their breakfast is really good. Their service is phenomenal and they are up to date with 21st century technology by using TOAST. You can pay by cash or just tap your Apple or Google pay via your phone, watch, or credit/debit card. The entry way of this place is narrow, they do have an exit by the gift shop counter. I recommend taking that exit when it is super busy here. I highly recommend trying this place out. Just make sure you come super hungry. We wanted to take the new car out for a road trip, so I suggested we go to Marble Falls for PIE at " that famous place." Google came through with the details and we headed out on a grey drizzly day. Arriving midday on a Saturday, we saw the line and thought there might be a long wait, but it moved quickly and we were seated within ten minutes. Food at the tables around us looked great, but we went light on lunch because the reason for the trip was PIE. The grilled cheese and the BLT were good, the fries acceptable. Then it was time for PIE. My Lemon Meringue pie was pretty good, I thought. But My Guy is the pie maker/critic of the household, so I asked about his Cherry. He shrugged. "Meh. The crust is dry, crumbly, and tasteless, like it came out of a cardboard box." And he'd asked for a la mode-- and didn't even get real ice cream. "Is that *soft serve*?!" I asked. "Yep." Went on Sunday morning & there was a line but it goes by pretty fast to get seated. Our server was such a sweet and attentive person. This was our first time trying this establishment we tried the following: French Toast - It's a very typical French Toast nothing special about it. Western Omelette - This omelette was okay but we asked for side of house salsa and that is when it become way better. Coconut Cream Pie - I get why this place is known for their pie. This was light, fluffy, just the right amount of sweetness, coconut flakes & the sweet cream on top was amazing. This place feels like your grandmas kitchen very cozy , feels like home and there are lots of articles about the establishment on the walls. Great Pies, but Room for Improvement - I was excited to take my mom, who was visiting from out of state, to this historic Texas diner. She was thrilled to experience the charm, and we were looking forward to a comforting meal. While the atmosphere was warm and nostalgic, the service was unfortunately quite slow, and the food left us a little underwhelmed. Some dishes arrived cold, and though the pies were truly delicious (a highlight!), the apple and cherry pies we requested warmed came out cold as well. I wanted this to be a standout experience for my mom, and while we enjoyed the pies, the overall visit didn't quite meet our expectations. It's hard not to like a place that's been around for 95 years. We came here for breakfast. I had a coffee and water with the vegetable and cheese omelette. I chose grits and biscuits for my sides. The omelette was loaded with veggies and cheese and came with a side of salsa. The highlight for me were the biscuits (2). They were perfect and fresh. I had not been here in years so it was nice to go back. Everything was great: the service (so friendly) and the food came out crazy fast! I ordered the chicken fried chicken which comes with three sides. I chose the fried okra, red potatoes, and the small soup of the day which was taco soup. All was delicious. A staple establishment in Marble Falls where pies are the centerpiece. It was easy to find and had plenty of parking spaces. The wait was short to be seated where could see the food being prepared and pies on display. The menu had breakfast and southern food choices where I ordered the Farm-Raised Fried Catfish (2 hand-battered fillets) with 3 sides (red-skin mashed potatoes, fried okra, and Italian cut green beans). The place is pretty much always the same every time I visit where the staff is super friendly and feed you well. I was asked if I wanted bread and said yes, and a mini loaf of wheat bread was placed on the table. I was impressed where this could be something new where my memory was foggy. I cut off a piece, spread butter on it and tasted great. And then our plates arrived really quick so I decided to take the bread home. The fried catfish was delightful and had great flavor. The sides were good especially the green beans. I thought I was done until my wife suddenly ordered a slice of fudge pie a la mode. When it arrived it looked like it was left outside where the ice cream was all melted. The pie was really a brownie and tasted great. The cool melted ice cream acted like vanilla sauce which was different, but good as well. I was pretty much full for the rest of the day and had another great visit, and perhaps next time leave off the ice cream. read more

The coffee was delicious! The biscuits were my favorite. My hubby was irritated I went to a breakfast place and ordered a BLT. Lol, but it was yummy! The real reason I was there... the pies!
