They moved us through pretty quick and once we sat down our food came out in a timely and efficient manner. Everything is super affordable and the portion sizes are quite generous. For a diner, it simply doesn't get any better! We recently moved to the area and this shows up all the time when searching for places to eat. We've heard about it from people we have met so it was time to give it a try. The short of the review is if you are in the area or plan to make up trip to Marble Falls, you MUST come here! It's rather big and there's plenty of parking. We've been here a few times and it's either not very busy or it's almost completely full. But regardless, you'll always get great service. Walking in, you'll catch a glimpse of what others are eating and if you don't already know what you want, prepare to be overwhelmed. As we walked to our booth, I saw three or four dishes I wanted to order just look at what other people were eating. But for our first visit, I had a club sandwich and in my opinion, it's hard to find a "great" club sandwich but fortunately for me... I've found the best one! It might seem simple to make a club sandwich but honestly, to many places try to make it with some different kind of bread, use weird spread, etc... but here, they make it simple and traditional. The best! I had it with fries and they are crunchy, hot and fresh. The next time we came, I had the Chicken Fried Steak. I saw someone else have this and I just had to try. It looked absolutely amazing when I saw someone else eating this and it really IS amazing! They use a white gravy (my favorite) and I honestly don't think I have had better chicken fried steak. For the sides, I had the red potatoes with gravy, fries and a mini corn on the cob. It also came with corn bread muffins. On our first visit, we had the banana cream pie and it was spectacular! Highly recommend! When you walk in you are immediately hit with a sensory overload (in a good way) with their themed rooms. They have a Coca-Cola room and an I Love Lucy room. The service was really friendly and accommodating, and the owner(?) came over to personally check on our table. The chicken and waffles were great and the pancakes were also delicious. I had the chicken fried steak, which is an excellent choice. It came with 3 sides, which I chose mashed potatoes, green beans and a side salad. The meat was tender and the gravy covering it had the just right amount of thickness and flavor! The green beans were delicious as well. I couldn't put my fork down until I was finished, because it tasted so good! For dessert I had the pecan pie. It was moist as well as the crust. Before leaving Marble Falls, TX, I swung on by Blue Bonnet Cafe for some pies per recommendation of concierge at WorldMark Marble Falls. It's a cute cafe that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They are famous for their lemon meringue pie so I knew I had to try it even though it is not my favorite pie. My favorite is banana cream pie. I was drawn to the coconut cream pie, too. So I ended up buying 3 slices of pies for take-out only... more than enough for one person... I just like going BIG whenever I get a chance because you never know when you'll be back LOL... 1. Lemon Meringue - honestly, it was okay... there wasn't any WOW factor from my first bite. I would have preferred less tartness. Perhaps lemon meringue pies just aren't for me LOL. 2. Banana Cream - this was amazingly good! I loved the creamy texture and banana taste was just right. Definitely a keeper! 3. Coconut Cream - this was slightly disappointing to say the least. Not sweet enough for me... I love coconut and I like my pies to have some sweetness. Staff was okay. Prices were fine. Size of restaurant was bigger inside than I initially thought. It doesn't look that big from the outside. The walking space within the aisles inside the restaurant appeared to be a tad tight though. What I found fun... it was neat to see all them pies on the racks... looks like there is a factory in the back of the restaurant producing pies LOL. If I return back to Marble Falls, I would definitely return here for more pies, but it won't be for their lemon meringue though. If you're a lemon meringue fan, then go for it! I had to stop by as everybody recommended the pies. Service was excellent and dinner was served promptly. My server was very nice. I ordered the pot roast with mash potatoes and a side salad. The pot roast was tender and flavorful; it didn't need the gravy (too much gravy took away from the tasty meat flavor). Then the must-do: the pie. I got me apple pie a la mode. Quite busy for lunch on a Thursday. Very popular place. Decor is a diner feel. Mostly home cooked comfort food on the menu. I ordered the pot roast without the gravy, a salad with Ranch, carrots, and red skin potatoes as my three sides. Service was very quick to be so busy, good staffing, my food came out in no time! I had their veggie omelette which was amazingly full of veggies, the hashbrowns were little dry, but nothing that some ketchup didn't help, the biscuits were fluffy and fresh. She tried the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, inside of spinach and salad. The spinach was super yummy and tasted just like it spinach. Too many places cover it up with other things. This café sits right on Highway 281 just as you cross over the bridge. Coming here is like stepping back in time to a basic simple menu and good service. This and their basic fare complete with pies seems to be a formula that has been successful for decades. The real added benefit is the fact that they really pile on the food which only adds to the popularity of this cafe. They also get your food out to you very quick, our order came out within five minutes of ordering. We came here for breakfast and had omelettes. If you order the biscuits you get a side of gravy and their fresh spicey salsa also comes with your eggs. They definitely give you a lot more than what you pay for which keeps everyone coming back. We were in the area by chance and remember for the longest I wanted to try this pies and did not disappoint but my favorite was them buns took me back to my childhood the taste is almost like bolillo/pan francés from authentic Mexican bakery they were delicious and the green beans THE GREEN BEANS I had to snatch them away from my kid also the sopita/soup of the day was really good you could tell the chicken broth was fresh. This cute diner is known far and wide for its pies with mile high meringue. We arrived in time to enjoy lunch right before "pie happy hour" started (3pm). I had the catfish plate, which included 3 sides. I selected garden salad with blue cheese dressing (veggies were fresh, but imho my blue cheese dressing is better). The last 2-3 times we've been here for breakfast it was not good. In fact, way overrated. Took my son there on Friday before a golf outing and our breakfasts came out literally within 3 mins of placing our order. Hash browns were not cooked long enough - soft, undercooked, flavorless.
