The first time there, the guy was friendly and the food was great. (I'm not a big fan of subway and haven't eaten there in many years due to food poisoning.) I even told him after we finished eating the first time, the food was great. On our way home we figured why not stop in again, not very many choices for food going this way!! When we came in there was a staff member eating his lunch, the other staff member called him over to make our food. ( the other staff member that called the guy on his lunch break was the same one for our first visit) The staff member turned the tap on, ran his hands under the water, wiped his face a bit, then rinsed his hands, grabbed a paper towel then wiped his face again with the paper towel and then put on his gloves to make our food. He was rude and pushy, there was no one behind me. It wasn't busy... he made our food.. and I really didn't want to eat it. When I went to pay I explained to the other staff member what had happened. He said oh well I'm sorry. Do you wanna write a report on the receipt ? I ordered a cookie for my son as well thinking he would at least give us the cookie for free. Nope. He didn't offer to remake our food and I shouldn't have even bought it. We never ended up eating it. Just cause you are wearing gloves does NOT MEAN YOU DONT'T HAVE TO WASH YOU HANDS PROPERLY. Fish was battered, not normally my favourite, but was light and really tasty. Maybe the best sweet potatoes ever and the cauliflower bites are a meal, lightly breaded and tasty, maybe too big to be shared with just two people, most of ours came home. Staff is friendly and attentive. Waitress didn't know the beer list and suggested I "go look", which is fine but there weren't that many to remember. She did, however, bring us a takeaway box without being asked as she noticed the cauliflower bites still lingering on the plate. I haven't tried any of the breakfast sandwiches, but I've come here for lunch a couple of times. You can dine in or take your sandwich to do. Their sandwiches are freshly made and massive. They come with a dill pickle wedge, and side (garden salad or coleslaw or potato salad). I always opt for the potato salad. I generally don't like restaurant potato salads (prefer homemade) but I love the potato salad at Phat Tony's. They also usually have a few soups on hand if you want something warm. And there are salads and wraps too. They also usually have some baked goods and squares, but the portions are so large I never have room for dessert. If you leave Phat Tony's hungry you've done it wrong. If you're looking for a sandwich in Leduc definitely give Phat Tony's a go. I'll be back again.
