Pork Cubano sandwich with Caesar salad
    Jennie L.

I have been here a number of times in the past few years, and have always been pleased with the food. The service is hit or miss depending on what time you go and who is there. It seems like that is an issue with other diners too. However, today the server was bang on and we were seated right away. I love how fresh the food is. My oldest daughter and my husband went with the daily special which was a chicken club sandwich. I am a little disappointed that there is no kids menu because the food is a little pricey and it hard to choose something for a kid that may only eat a few bites. In the end we decided on just an order of French fries for our little one. I chose the Torta Cubana which is a Cuban sandwich with roasted pulled pork, smoked ham, provolone cheese, sweet onions, pickles and chipotle mayo. Food came out in a decent amount of time, but if you are there during peak hours expect a wait. Food was really tasty. I loved my side Caesar salad and my sandwich was delicious. Great flavours in the pork, and the combo of the cheese, sweet onions and chipotle mayo were fantastic. My family enjoyed their dishes as well. I took a bite of my husband's sandwich. I thought it wasn't as flavourful as mine, but the bacon was fantastic! It made the sandwich a higher calibre. My daughter gobbled up the fries, so no complaints there. I also ordered a margarita and it was really well done. Definitely a great stoop if you are on the road and have the time.

After spending the night at the Village at Pigeon Lake, I needed some sustenance before hitting the road back to Edmonton. After packing and putting on make-up in record time, I joined my husband and the rest of his colleagues for breakfast at the Eco Cafe. A few minor issues to get out of the way: the orange juice is just store-bought bottled, not fresh, and our food didn't all come out at the same time. OK, minor stuff. But everything else about this place is great. Our server (the only one working) was very friendly and attentive, the menu selections all looked great, it's a cozy little joint, and the food! Ah, the food! This place isn't just local, it's....like, hyper-local. Everything on your plate (except for the orange juice, duh) is sourced from nearby farms. The bacon was the real stand-out. None of that cookie cutter grocery store bacon. These pieces were thick and meaty. And even the flour used in the bread comes from a nearby mill. They've got a fan in me for sure. A good breakfast for a good price and I knew I was supporting all things Alberta. Yeehaw!

Love the food and service here. Great little cafe out in pigeon lake! I love how proud they were of all their coffee menu items and the fact that each and every single one of their coffee items are always made extra hot!! I had their massive waffle Sandwich while hubby had their Reuben. Both were fantastic. Plus how could you go wrong with onion rings, turkey and avocado inside your waffle Sandwich!!?

Santa Fe club at Eco Cafe. Was not bad

Pretty cute little place at the The Village by Pigeon Lake. They make a great vanilla latte. We stopped for lunch. Had two sandwiches, two lattes and a peanut butter cheese cake. It all came to $48 so a little pricey I thought. Hubbie had the Reuben and it was ok. The fries were delish. I had the Santa Fe club. It was pretty good. I wud recommend this. The side mixed salad is pretty good as well Highly recommend the peanut butter cheese cake ! It was our highlight for sure and we will be back to taste it again! Service was good to start but then they got really busy and the two girls got a bit behind; they were pleasant enough though!

Pulled pork and ham. Lentil soup.

Nice Bistro cafe. All kinds of coffees. Eclectic menu. Had a pulled pork sandwich with lentil soup. Very good. My partner had a chicken asparagus wrap. Wanted to go for their apple crisp but was too full. They have an outdoor patio with hanging baskets of flowers. It can be busy at peak hours. They are licensed.

Tollers Bistro - Spinach and cheese. Curry rice bowl

You would think I'd give any place that would serve me a beer an automatic five during these COVID…read moretimes. Tollers Bistro's food is certainly worthy but since each of its previous five ratings are fives, I'll go against the grain with a four, as there is always room for improvement. Located in a small strip mall, it's a high ceiling open space that lends itself well to safe dining. Tables are nicely separated and booths have guards between them. However, there is no sanitizer available at the entrance and I noticed the waitress seating customers without masks, so a little more effort regarding patron's safety would be nice. The food is excellent. Great menu, lots of choice and really interesting. We did some sharing, fish tacos, sweet potato fries, and cauliflower bites. Fish was battered, not normally my favourite, but was light and really tasty. Maybe the best sweet potatoes ever and the cauliflower bites are a meal, lightly breaded and tasty, maybe too big to be shared with just two people, most of ours came home. Staff is friendly and attentive. Waitress didn't know the beer list and suggested I "go look", which is fine but there weren't that many to remember. She did, however, bring us a takeaway box without being asked as she noticed the cauliflower bites still lingering on the plate. I can agree with the previous fives, but there is always room for improvement, at Tollers it's just some attention to detail. Great spot!

All the reviews are correct. It's a must stop coffee shoppe. Easily one of my favourites when I come 'home' to Lacombe.

Leduc Coffee Shop - The almost famous orange roll. $3.50 in 2024.

I'm always up for a little journey out of town in the name of food and that's precisely what my…read morerecent visit to the city of Leduc was all about. Fifteen minutes (or so) south of the city makes Leduc feel more like a suburb and very much a part of the greater Edmonton area. It didn't take me much convincing to jump in the car when I heard that a little cafe was home to the Best Dessert 2024 as named by EDify Magazine. What delicious secrets were being kept in Leduc and how could I taste them?? Step one is to drive yourself to Leduc, which I did on a Saturday morning. While nearby, I haven't spent a whole lot of time in Leduc and found myself pleasantly surprised when the navigation took me to a quaint and cute small-town-style main street area. I really don't think that I'd ever been there before. Sweet little independent shops lined both sides of the street, lending to an idyllic pedestrian experience. Shopping areas like these always feel good to stroll through. Leduc Coffee Shop is located within two other stores; Magpies Collection and Playing For Keeps Toys. So don't get confused when you enter into a retail space; home decor and gifts on the left and children's toys on the right. Head to the back of the store and keep going until you find yourself surrounded by bistro tables and can smell the coffee. The space is cozy and cafe-like with chocolate-coloured walls and pieces of local art as decoration. I noted that each table was adorned with a vase of fresh flowers - a lovely touch. I also noticed a very adorable China cabinet filled with antique cups and saucers. The idea is that you can choose your own teacup to use, select your tea of choice, and then sit down to enjoy! What a beautiful idea that only adds to the experience! I was surprised by how large the menu is - the whole thing is posted right on the wall and it's huge both in physical size and in terms of content. In the end, the offerings include; drinks, eats, and sweets n treats. If you're looking for visual guidance most of the food items are on display in the glass case, which is helpful. I knew that I wanted to order a coffee-based beverage - it is a coffee shop after all - and I was delighted to find a special "Winter Drinks" menu. I am someone who loves a seasonal beverage, to the point of ordering off of these types of menus almost exclusively. I just like trying new things and enjoying flavours that compliment the season. This menu included six different choices, each sounding perfectly appropriate for the winter. The Gingerbread Spiced Mocha (Espresso, white chocolate, topped with whip cream & cinnamon) stood out to me, which I ordered in the small size. The girl at the counter was pleasant and got to work on preparing our drinks and eats. The drink looked like everything that I wanted it to be (AKA more like dessert than coffee) but unfortunately the flavour didn't really hit the mark for me. It mostly just tasted like a mediocre, watered down cup of coffee and didn't deliver on all of the gingerbread and spice and mocha that was promised. It just seemed like this coffee was supposed to have a lot of exciting stuff going on and I felt disappointed as I sipped it. The food menu includes a whole array of sandwiches that look really appetizing - many on croissants or bagels. And each sandwich is served with a side of corn chips which is something that I can totally get behind! I would recommend taking a look in the case and choosing whatever appears the most delicious on that particular day. However, I was visiting for one item and one item only: the Orange Bun ($3.50). This is the current best dessert in the Edmonton area and I couldn't wait to try it. These golden twirly rounds are baked in-house from scratch using real butter. The orange buns are served warm and seem to be a member of the cinnamon roll family. I know that this isn't a popular opinion but I'm not much of a cinnamon roll fan (unless we're talking about the ones at Sugarbowl, in which case I love them). This, however, is not a cinnamon roll. The homemade dough is hand-stretched every morning and the freshness is evident in every bite. There's a gooey mix of orange zest and coconut within every warm layer, bringing a sweet and unique flavour all its own. I loved this comforting bun, like something that a grandma would make. The flavour of the dough itself was almost the best part because it wasn't too sweet and it held the orange and coconut together so well. An absolute delight! I totally understand why this orange bun is on the foodie radar. It's wonderful that a little cafe like this, off the beaten path, is getting some notice. The food is the highlight at Leduc Coffee Shop but it would be nice if the coffee beverages were up to the same level. Delivering every bit the cozy cafe experience, this is the type of space that you'll be happy to spend some time in.

The rolls are like cinnamon buns but with orange instead of cinnamon. For lunch two of us ordered the Chicken Chipotle Melt. They were $9.99 each which is very reasonable. They were good, but not special. We noticed a steady stream of people coming in and ordering and looking for a table so this could be the most popular coffee house in Leduc. Coffee is self serve and includes refills. The cafe is located in the back of another business which I think is a gift shop. There's usually lots of steet parking available and, of course, being Leduc the parking is free.
