Great coffee and food, and good prices. The girls working were super friendly as well.

I've had Schwartz's in Montreal a couple of times and while it's not the same its darn great. Lots of options beyond the regular smoked meat also. Give it a try you'll not be sorry.

We thought is was an Italian restaurant at first from the outside. Then we thought it was a butcher shop until we finally decided to check it out for ourselves. I think if it read "Montreal Smoked Meat Sandwich Shop" then it would be much clearer. But besides that, that food is impeccable!! First, lets start with the Authentic Montreal Smoked Meat Sandwich, after taking the first bite it makes you just want more. The meat has a distinguished taste to it. It is so juicy and rich, it makes your taste buds call out for more. The toasted light rye bread adds a nice crunch as you bite into this juicy sandwich. You also can choose your choice of mustard such as French's, grainy, Dijon, honey spice, house, horseradish and keens. Second, the Roasted Turkey Sandwich, that has roasted turkey, capicola ham, roasted red pepper mayo, red onion and havarti cheese, grilled and served on light rye bread or wrap. I personally had the light rye bread. Again, this was just to die for. Juicy turkey and ham, with just the right amount of roasted red pepper mayo with all the toppings was amazing. If you love turkey sandwiches, then you will defiantly love this one. It hits the top of my list. After finishing this amazing sandwich you crave more because it is just that good. Third, the Reuben Steame Hotdog. WOW! Need I say more. Famous steamed Nathan's all beef hotdog topped with authentic Montréal smoked meat, gouda cheese, polish sauerkraut, cucumber pickled relish and your choice of mustard. First bite into the soft fresh bun followed by a juicy bed of smoked meat and hotdog. It is like a orgy in your mouth. All the flavours of the two different meats followed by the cheese and added toppings will take your taste buds to a whole other dimension. To wash down this amazing food, I had the Boylan's Old Fashioned Soda - Root Beer. Has a bit of a bite to it as you first take a sip. Makes me want to try some of their other flavors such as creme, black cherry, grape, gingerale and orginal. All of your sandwiches and hotdogs come with a small cup of chips, a small cup of coleslaw and a pickle. Brings you back to when you were a kid on a family picnic. Amazing!!! Prices are very worth it. Average price is around $8.00.

And just what was needed to warm me up. The latte was also very good. I chatted with the owner a bit. They have been open for about 5 years. 30 years ago when I was growing up jn the area, such a nice little Cafe would have been impossible to find. The Bistro is a bit easy to miss - it has a modest storefront, and looks a bit dark from the outside. When you walk inside though, the business has a nice cozy feeling: wooden chairs and leather accented tables, as well as big comfy lounge chairs and 2-person booths, highlighted by local artwork on the walls. It's a counter-service affair, and you can order coffee and espresso drinks, milkshakes and floats, plus an assortment of soups, sandwiches, salads, sweets and ice cream. They also do a breakfast first thing I the morning for the early risers and office crowd. The staff is always super friendly, and quick to clean a table or help where they can. Basically everything is made-to-order, so you're going to get fresh food. An average lunch typically runs me about $10, a bit more if I opt for a latte instead of a pop, so the value is great too. This is definitely a place to check out if you'd like a change of pace from the fast food and pricey restaurants otherwise nearby. I understand they also do catering and they're pretty accommodating.

Tollers Bistro's food is certainly worthy but since each of its previous five ratings are fives, I'll go against the grain with a four, as there is always room for improvement. Located in a small strip mall, it's a high ceiling open space that lends itself well to safe dining. Tables are nicely separated and booths have guards between them. However, there is no sanitizer available at the entrance and I noticed the waitress seating customers without masks, so a little more effort regarding patron's safety would be nice. The food is excellent. Great menu, lots of choice and really interesting. We did some sharing, fish tacos, sweet potato fries, and cauliflower bites. Fish was battered, not normally my favourite, but was light and really tasty. Maybe the best sweet potatoes ever and the cauliflower bites are a meal, lightly breaded and tasty, maybe too big to be shared with just two people, most of ours came home. Staff is friendly and attentive. Waitress didn't know the beer list and suggested I "go look", which is fine but there weren't that many to remember. She did, however, bring us a takeaway box without being asked as she noticed the cauliflower bites still lingering on the plate. I can agree with the previous fives, but there is always room for improvement, at Tollers it's just some attention to detail. Great spot!

For me it was the meatloaf sandwich and for my partner it was Chipotle Turkey Bacon. They use really thick slices of bread that some may like and others might find too filling. My meatloaf sandwich was only $10.50 which is good value. The Chipotle Sandwich was a bit more at $13.50 but that's still reasonable. I had a coffee too. It was fine, though nothing special. WiFi is free but not password protected. It was nice inside the cafe. Very roomy and not too loud nor too quiet. It was easy to carry on a conversation. I enjoyed my sandwich but it was a bit large. Still this could be my new go to cafe when I'm hungry on the QEII. I recommend it.

The menu is well focused on two things: Soup and Sandwich - the greatest lunch love-story of all time, with a pickle on the side ;). I'm not even going to ramble on with all of the delicious, fresh, local foodie highlights or even mention the cheesecakes (DARNIT, they're just so good!). If you want to keep your calories in check, make any sandwich a salad. That way it cancels out the cinnamon bun appetizer, probably. I have been coming here for years but never wrote a review in an attempt to selfishly keep the lunch-rush lineup at a minimum; but alas, the good word has clearly gotten out. So best to call your order in ahead of time if you're in a hurry - do NOT rush these lovely ladies in their craft, they are hustling HARD.
