Great service, great food! Top notch restaurant! Food is quality and consistently cook very tasty!

We gave ABC Country a try, it's been years. Oh boy, did we regret that! Our waitress Rose was a sweet heart, but the food was AWFUL! My omelette was missing half it's ingredients, and NO cheese. And don't get me started on the can mushrooms! Gross! The waitress took my omelette back to get remade and OMG when she brought it back, it was the same torn open omelette (from me looking for the cheese) with some cold onions inside with a tiny bit of shredded cheese, and then thrown back together. It's wasn't even warmed up or melted. I was like no, that's so not right. Our waitress was very apologetic and looked so embarrassed. So she had them remake my omelette. It was very evident that the exact same inside of my first omelette was put into the new omelette egg. Even the small amount of cheese. It wasn't even a 1/4 of the cheese that was in my hubby's omelette. The waitress saw what the cooks had given me again and she felt SO bad. Offer to have it made again. I said no, I dont trust them back there, and I'll skip it. The brunch buffet is a joke. Butterchicken made with campbell's tomatoe soup. Chicken bites over cooked and hard. Rice dry and hard. Eggs Benny looked decent. But don't count to much on the buffet if you dont eat pork, because almost everything has pork/bacon ect. Also many of the desserts were still frozen. Maybe these days you shouldn't expect much for $26? But man, you should at least be able to get a decent omelet! Walked out still hungry! read more

This is a small chain frequented by seniors... and families in general. I'm vegetarian and went with friends who are "regular folk". They have a senior's menu with very good prices... but no options for me. The only thing (main course) vegan or vegetarian on the menu was the "all dressed" veggie burger. I had it with soup instead of fries or salad. It turned out that the soup of the day was broccoli cheddar. Soup was very good. Also the veggie burger was quite decent !! read more

This was one of my parents favorites, but we had not been in a while so it was good to get back. I had sausage and perogies. Mom had spaghetti, there was also some fish and chips ordered. Everything was pretty good, very standard fair. That seems to be what they do here, standard old timey food done well read more

The positives: - clean - comfortable - friendly service The negatives: - bland food (VERY bland, like worse than low sodium hospital food) - not very attentive service (though our server was friendly, she did not return to check up after delivering the food) I would love to give more than one star but is seriously the worst tasting food that I've tried in all of Alberta and the worst restaurant meal I've eaten in several years. Not my first time stopping by this Restaurant. It's clean and the staff is usually friendly with a smile. Aug 30th about 10:30 am drove to Red Deer to meet friends and connect at this Restaurant, first person contact (Grumpy). No "Wecome to ABC Restaurant" nothing!!! Took her time fishing out various menus, "this way". Humm, not inviting at all. I love the juicy tender Chicken tenders was craving them on my drive from Calgary to Red Deer. Ordered my drink, never saw my server till my friends arrived an hour later. Didn't check once to see how I was doing. Made our orders, took an exceedingly long time for our order to arrive at table. My long awaited Chicken tenders tasted like FISH. So dry and not close to the standard I had 2 weeks ago during my stop over. The tiny serving of sauce for the tenders might have well stayed in the bottle. Not at all what I expected from this usual favorite spot. read more

Well I guess I can only review the brekkies as that is all I eat when I venture in. I would say that usually the service is decent. I did have one time that I waited about 20 minutes for a coffee and to have my order taken. (not busy). Food is your usual breakfast fare and I do like the hash browns. Coffee is good but you may have to hound them for more. Pretty generic however service is friendly if all be it a bit slow. In line with Rickys or Dennys. All in all if not for the price I might have ranked a bit higher. Not everyone is fast with coffee service and its a different type of crown as well when dealing with breakfast patrons. Just to be clear, I would've given ABC Country a 3 star rating if it weren't for the atmosphere. I ordered an omelette and I was a little disappointed. It had a sort of juvenile taste to it. Not what you would expect from a restaurant that charges what they charge. The best thing on my plate was the home fries, they were really good. Without having added any extras to my meal, I paid about $19.50 with a %15 tip. The service was good, and my waiter was friendly. That certainly picked up the slack. All in all it was a good experience but a lower price tag would have made it a much better one. read more

My sister and I came here with my niece and nephew after her baseball tournament. We all got the buffet and it was awesome!!! The omelette was great and all food was amazing!! Always excellent service, the owners even came and chatted with us about my nieces game! Super nice people, great environment and great food especially for the price! read more

The staff here are really friendly. The atmosphere here is great and the place is clean, but that doesn't make up for the lousy food. I came here in a mood for eggs benedict and ordered the "bacon cheddar benny" expecting something tasty. Unfortunately, the hollandaise sauce tasted like it was made with movie theatre popcorn butter and the hashbrowns were soaked in grease. I wasn't very pleased. read more

Came here for breakfast on a weekday. Most of their breakfast options are kind of pricey (over $10) and large for a weekday - but you can order a single eggs Benedict (any style) with homemade hashbrowns for $7.49. I would've liked it better if the hashbrowns were made with butter instead of margarine, or if the hollandaise sauce had more flavour, but on the overall it wasn't bad for a sit-down breakfast. Best breakfast place in Red Deer. The servers are always so nice, food is awesome & the owners are always there managing the place. For Christmas they even gave us a 'Secret Santa' free breakfast. I don't go anywhere else for breakfast anymore. I highly recommend it here. Place is also very clean. read more

I've tried this place 4 times and was disappointed by each time, particularly by the extremely watered down coffee. On my first visit I ordered breakfast - a waffle with bacon, and coffee of course, but the waffle was quite small and I don't think it was made fresh (they probably just picked it out of a pre-made batch) and you already know my thoughts on the "coffee-water", and I thought the price was way too much for what I got on my plate. Another time I was with my mom and she ordered the fish & chips - awful! The batter turned to mush almost as soon as she started eating it, and she returned it and had it removed from the bill. It's nearly impossible to find any place in Alberta that can make good fish & chips anyway as most places don't make their own batter, but I'd suggest they remove this from their menu entirely. I had two other visits there because, honestly, it's a really nice looking, comfy, friendly, family-style restaurant in a good location (and there aren't too many other options for that in Red Deer), but I feel like the price for the quality of the food is too much. I really wanted to like this place, but I don't think I'll be going back... at least not until they do something about that horrible excuse for coffee! read more

ABC COUNTRY owners Charles and Nicole are operating illegally by not paying staff a minimum of 3 hours and saying their leaving is 'volunteering' when it's not. They also insist on charging 'tipout' on bar when there is no bartender. In addition, they're charging a 5.5% 'tipout' when the hostesses get NOTHING. Yet they're expected to start early with no pay, buss every single table, set up every reservation and are paid next to nothing. Even their kitchen staff can't handle it. My biggest complaint is that of complete disregard for cross-contamination allergens. They provide a crab night Friday and Saturday and have no regard for pollutants and cross contamination as I've witnessed. I can provide validation to all my claims and asked them to comment. They declined and Nicole had her husband Charles call me to verbally assault me in multiple fashions. My feeling is that the public needs to know about this malpractice to avoid any possible injuries/sickness. read more
