The Southern Fried Chicken Thigh was deliciously prepared with mashed potato and seasonal vegetable. Is the best dish on the menu. Also tried the Thai Lhasa noodle which was also tasty. Excellent services from very pretty hostesses in a clean and friendly ambiance. read more

We visited The Granary on Mother's Day (Sunday, May 8th) and we were super excited to try this place as the menu items looked great! There were 5 adults in our party. We made a reservation a few weeks ago and when we arrived we got seated right away. Our server was really friendly and polite. She provided wonderful service during our visit. Our issues definitely weren't with their service, but it was their food. We started our order with 2 cinnamon buns, and they were really good! They're a heavier dough, but they were delicious and a must try when you go there. For our entrees, we had 2 Classic Eggs Benedict, Huevos Rancheros Benedict, Harvest Omelette and a Harvest Skillet. Our meals came out within 10-15 mins of ordering. The one thing we could all say is that the flavors of our meals were great. Very flavorful, seasoned well, and good sized portions. The problem was in the temperature for all of our meals. At first, all three of us that had eggs benny, our eggs were cold. Not luke warm, cold. We told our server, they refired 3 new plates, and when the new dishes came out it was the same thing. At that point, a couple of us changed our dishes to the Coffee Garden waffle and the biscuits and bacon. The 3rd person wanted to try the eggs benny again. The Manager came out and let us know that the hollandaise sauce is made from scratch, which is great to hear! That doesn't happen often. When the waffles came out, they were crispy, tasted great, but again, they were cold. I ate them because at that point, I realized it wasn't going to get any better. Our guest that had the biscuits and gravy enjoyed them, but the bacon wasn't hot either. The 3rd time for the classic eggs benny, the hollandaise was brought out on the side and the egg was hot, but the sauce was ice cold. Not kind of warm, but refrigerated cold. "Real" hollandaise won't be piping hot, but it shouldn't be cold either. After chatting during our meals, the other 2 guests with the omelette and the skillet, their meals were just luke warm as well, they weren't hot. So while the flavors were all good, the food temperatures of our breakfast was not good which was offputting. For this reason, we definitely won't be back. read more

We stopped at the place for a quick lunch. The service was spectacular, waitresses were polite, friendly and efficient!!! They got the stars! The place itself was nice and comfortable. The food was mediocre at best or plain. Caesar salad was wilted and unseasoned, buttermilk chicken had no flavour, fries were blah. So if you want great service you can definitely visit the place, just do not eat anything there. Great contrast between how you are treated and what you are served. read more

For service food and atmosphere 5 stars. Steak cooked perfect, sides were fabulous, and service was top notch...on a less windy evening the patio is on my wish list now. Great job guys !!! read more

we tried for brunch but told no at 1245, they closed it for then. we drove and my daughter reserved with the time for brunch. we were very dissatisfying from the start. agreed to lunch and everytime we ask a question we have language barrier and the waiter was eye rolling and annoyed. rushed us. told us if we are not ready they cannot take our order. took a long time for him to come back. he was not friendly. the food was ok, it took a while to come and so we packed it up because we also felt unwelcome. we came because our daughter had pleasant time before, but no longer. read more

I'll start by saying I've eaten there in the past and the classic Bennie was fine. Today the medium eggs I ordered came hard. The waiter looked at them and said they're a little passed medium ‍, there was no yolk. After a very long wait I was served two more eggs that were so undercooked the whites were slimy and yokes basically raw and disgusting . They did not charge me, but my brunch was spoiled. My wife had the western omelette which was overcooked but eatable. Hopefully who ever was cooking gets replaced ASAP as this is a small city and word will get around. May try again, but not fora long time. read more

It's noon on a Thursday and The Granary is packed and that's pretty much all you need to know. I started coming here about 2 years ago. The Granary has not only weathered the pandemic but elevated through it. The food, the space, the drinks and ESPECIALLY the staff(I'm looking at you Jessie giiiiirl :) Seriously though, come the chicken Bellagio, stay for the $4.50 wing night and come again and again again. Worst food ever. Total misrepresentation of food on the menu. Beef fillet does not come from the shoulder of the Cow. You can pound it into oblivion, but you can't get rid of the muscle tissue. Ceaser salad is not served with kale. If I wanted a kale salad I would order a kale salad!!! Salad is not served in a finger bowl. Waitress and manager were awesome, but cannot make up for upper management decisions to serve sub par quality food. Sent back two orders of food and was scared to try the third replacement. Went to a&w for a burger. So much for going out to celebrate my retirement. read more

Fabulous prices and amazing food. Had Steak Oscar and it was spectacular. Highly recommend this dish. I had the bernaise sauce on the side as you never know with bernaise. This was excellent bernaise! The steak had flavor and was cooked to perfection. One if the best steak dinners for such a great price! read more

Waitress was really good, knowledgeable and showed up the perfect amount. Fried chicken had a nice seasoning. Blackened Cajun was delicious. Not often do we opt for dessert but the sticky toffee pudding was off the charts! Definitely will be back read more

A friend and I went here for wing Wednesday so it was sorta busy but nothing too chaotic. We had been seated and then proceeded to wait roughly 20 minutes to order food and drinks. Furthermore I had asked for ranch once my food had come out which took another 10 minutes, we were not checked up upon to see how our food came out and how everything was. After we had finished eating we asked for the bill and sat there for 35 minutes waiting for it. The most amazing pancakes we have ever tried!!!! All the food was seasoned perfectly and the exact textures you think about when you imagine the best you've ever eaten, like biscuits, omelets, hash browns, pancakes and eggs...to the last savoury bite, what a meal! Oh, and the greeter and service was also exceptional and our experience here will not be forgotten. A star on the map for sure!!! read more

Hubby & I went there yesterday for lunch. I ordered the beet salad. I had to move the greens in order to find the beets. Every other restaurant that I've had a beet salad at had chunks. This one came with slivers of beets on the bottom of the plate, circling the outside of the plate. If stacked together it was probably about the size of 1/3 of a beet, and for $17. Don't know if I'll come back. read more

One of my favourite places in red deer to eat. Amazing service, amazing food. A little pricey compared to other places but it's worth it!

We stopped here for dinner and while the food and service were excellent, the adherence to Covid masking in this Restarant was virtually not followed. 80% of the patrons were not wearing masks upon entering, exiting, going to the bathroom etc and the few that did wire them under their nose iron their chin! Ive been coming to The Granary since they fist opened 2 years ago. They are continually innovating the menu and sourcing local ingredients. They have kept my favorite item since they opened, Mushroom Ravioli. It has become a staple in my diet lol. I love the recent additions on the Breaky menu. I really cant complain about anything! Great staff, always super friendly and I have been lucky to get to know a few of them quite well over the 2 years. Thank you Granary for the superb service and food. read more

We tried Granary Kitchen for the first time on November 27 for dinner. We picked it for out anniversary supper due to the large variety on the menu. Recommend both the calamari and Oscar sirloin. House white is a very good wine. Kaylee our server was great and attentive all evening. A great overall dining experience. read more

A friend and I were in town for a girls weekend and were staying in a hotel across the street, so we decided to have breakfast here. OMG, it was so good! I had the California Skillet and my friend had the classic eggs benny and both were excellent. Our server, Jesse(?), was super friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our meal so much, we went back for dinner. She had the southern fried chicken, I had the sirloin steak and again, both were fantastic. And why mess with a good thing? So we went back for breakfast again the next day. This was the only meal that was slightly disappointing. We ordered the pancakes and french toast and the only reason this meal didn't measure up to the others was neither dish came with butter. Maybe it was an oversight or maybe that's just how they serve it. Regardless, by the time we received any butter our meals had cooled down enough that softened butter would have been difficult to spread, yet alone the nearly frozen butter we received. That said, I definitely wouldn't snub The Granary Kitchen for neglecting a condiment and you can be sure we will be back. read more

I'm just finished a filet here at the Granary. Service was excellent but the steak was gristly, like it hadn't hung for 21 days. The rest of the food was as expected from an upper bracket restaurant. read more
