Gotta love a place with THIS on the wall!

I thought I should write an actual review now that I've checked in a few times. :) Oh, FYI ladies, if you can get a group of 4 or more together, you save 10% off your bill. I saw a poster on my way out of the ladies' room that said so. (I'm always there alone and don't think I could find three other friends to go with me, but that's besides the point. DO IT!) I have never attended a live show here, but maybe I'll have to aspire to do that one of these days. The food here is delicious. I have not been disappointed once! It's always fresh, reasonably priced, and also served in reasonable time. I try something new each time. When I went today, I had the Butter Chicken Poutine. I was warned that although it's on the appetizer menu, it's huge. She was right. I ate a bit more than half of it and that filled me up. It does say the appetizers are meant to be shared. The service here is good, too. I never had to wait too long to get a menu and a beer. The wait staff are friendly and seem to know the menu well. They have no problems checking on anything they aren't 100% sure about. (I KNOW I asked them about soy in something during a past visit and it was no problem at all to find out.) I always check in when I go to The Hideout because they do have free WiFi. (Places that don't have WiFi for free generally don't get a check-in from me because I refuse to use my personal data for it. Besides, if someone is buying a meal, does it really cost that much to provide WiFi? I can't imagine it does. Besides, it's a selling point.) I've got to say that even the first time I walked into the place, I felt right at home. I didn't ever feel awkward for being there alone or for just stopping by on the way through. The washrooms are easy to find, which is convenient. The place has a very inclusive vibe and I look forward to stopping in whenever I'm nearby.

The Hideout is a great pub featuring various live music shows. I went to the Hideout to check out a live show they were hosting for Good For Grapes. Upon arrival the place was pretty quiet with a few tables eating food and talking amongst each other. I had the fish and chips and quite enjoyed them. My friend had a salad and she also enjoyed her meal. Once the show started, the place got really loud and the band put on a great show. I was definitely disappointed in the small crowd that turned out but everyone in the audience thoroughly enjoyed the show. The staff were all very nice and provided good service. The food is a little more expensive than I would have expected, but they offered many different food options. I'll definitely be going back here in the future to check out some more shows.

Refreshing red berry sangria. Have 2.

Thanks for helping us out Yelpers! We didn't know where to eat in Red Deer and The Hideout was great for lunch. Although a warehouse space it was broken up into comfortable seating areas and had plenty of natural light. Several families were here for brunch. The service is friendly and attentive so I can see why folks bring their young children here. They boast having the best steak sandwich in town. It was thick and juicy and cooked as I asked but it had not been marinated and the spice rub seemed to have been thrown on it just before grilling. The meat was delicious where the rub had landed but rather tasteless elsewhere. A shame but not a disaster. What made our meal was the sangria. A deep purple/red berry concoction that was a blissful balance of fruit and wine. We had a couple of those. Very refreshing. We're going to come back in the evening for their live music. I have a feeling we are in for a treat.

Still looks like a nice country rock place with all the post and beam work but old chips and a broken cup for my drink!

We got pop as our drink and I'm glad we asked but it is NOT non-stop (no free refills). Waitress was nice but very busy. Flavors and their ratings: Honey Garlic: 10/10 my personal favorite. Very well sauced. Dill pickle: 8/10 Flavoring was just a light dusting and did not stick really well to the wings. Nice flavor just wish there was more of it. Lemon pepper: 9/10 Flavoring stuck better to these wings. This was Friend 1s favorite as it had a nice zing to it. Bangin Bacon: 10/10 Friend 2s favorite, i also really enjoyed this one. Nice and creamy and flavor. Not a strong flavor. Moroccan: 3/10 everyone least favorite. Very bland. Tastes like paprika only. Overall the wings had a good amount of meat on them, were hot and fresh and I would come back!

You can usually find more parking behind the building near the Corner Pocket.  Admittedly, aside from their wings, I haven't had the chance to try any of their regular menu items so can't comment on those. But we've visited a handful of times on wing Wednesdays and are always pleased with the fast-paced service and flavours of their wings. My favourite picks are the Bangin' Bacon, Dill Pickle, Thai Chili, and of course, the classic Honey Garlic. I have found that on some busy nights, they've skimped out on the flavourings that we've had to scrape them from the bottom of the basket, but I'm sure the servers would be happy to bring you extra flavourings if you ask. Our most recent visit was a nice surprise as they were still decked out with their seasonal decorations; so fun! They also host a lot of local shows/concerts, so make sure to check out their website to stay updated!

Our latest experience will have been our last, and I'm actually hoping that someone from there will read this. I realize going to a bar for brunch is rarely going to be stellar so our expectations were measured but even so, the Benedict's were extremely bland an flavourless. We did mention this to our server but asked for some condiments that made do. However, that's not what prompted this review. It started with the curdled cream in our coffee but of course that can be forgiven as it happens for sure. The issue was how it was handled. Started with a look at the coffee and a "wow, you're not having much luck today" as a response from our waitress... followed by... nothing!! No removal of the coffee, no replacement of the coffee, no acknowledgement or removal of the coffee from the bill! Now our server was friendly enough and I don't put this all on her - this is poor management and subpar training. A simple bit of education could have turned our experience around easily and avoided our comment. Get it together and help your staff!! We saw you in there doing basically nothing - brutal. Not a waitress too lazy to walk the two feet behind me and make me pass food to other members of the table. And why's as "how was your steak?" If my reply was "tough cut with no fat the salad was the best part" only to reply "that sounds good let me get you the bill". Is this still a community college town???
