I loved everything about this hole in the wall since I first found it years ago. Don't get to Lacombe much but when I do I try and hit this place up. My last experience was a bit of a let down, the burger I ordered was dry as a bone and tasted like it was stuffed with bread crumbs, so disappointed in the place I always raved about to my friends about said burgers. Hopefully this was just a Covid blip and things will smarten up as we go along. I'll give this establishment another go and I'm sure it will be back to normal. I will say though the staff went above and beyond what I expected and not only offered to cook me something else but at the end took my burger and drinks off of the bill. absolutely love this little pub, unfortunately tonight we had the worst service of my life from a girl named Brianna! when my husband asked for service after seeing her serve other people at the bar who had just come in she responded with "i pick and choose" another server named Hailey served us and was amazing. Casual, relaxed but attentive service. Such a perfect balance! Food was great pub food, nice prices. Lots of drink choices especially craft beer. Mix of small intimate tables and larger ones for families / groups. I absolutely recommend coming here for drinks or special occasion. What a great place! We stopped in for some saturday afternoon beers and a plate of fries, and were so happy to see the Juke Box! Service was friendly, beer prices were fair, but the side of fries that we shared was almost $8 which was weird. They were good fries, don't get me wrong, but $8 for a plate of fries is a little high i think. But who cares! I can't wait to return! read more

Ugly's lives up to its name. The bar is dirty and the decor is non-existent, unless you count the local drunks who line the walls. The one time I went there I was treated to extremely poor service. The server totally forgot about us for so long I was getting a hangover and had to get up to go find a beer somewhere in this establishment. I finally did, with no thanks to the server. If you're a local drunk, this is your home....either here or the filthy bathrooms in the back. read more

I am from Lacombe originally but havens dined out a lot. Came to Ugly's to listen to a band play. Very awesome atmosphere. Had the 49er fries and brought me back to the Coast. Although I had the Garlic Fries in Seattle these brought me back. So amazing. I can still taste them!! read more

Oddly enough one can feel quite comfortable somewhere ugly. The name would not necessarily be my on my top recommendation as a marketing strategy, but whatever makes one happy. The atmosphere is divey will an almost unhealthy obsession of wood paneling inside. It's a little ugly inside, but lowering the bar with the name probably helped me be pleasantly surprised. I do like the sign inside that says "happy hour 4-7 m-f 3.50$ domestic and high ball." My order consisted of the ring of fire burger and a Sleeman's honey brown pint. Nothing craft brew here! I enjoyed the ring of fire, but mostly I was glad to find a pub in a town I know nothing about. read more

Ugly's is one of my favorite places to eat. The food and drinks are excellent. Staff are very friendly and have made each visit that much more enjoyable. The owners are lovely and always check in with their customers. Service is fast and the atmosphere is fun and welcoming. Highly recommend Ugly's! read more

Yup, the place is a dive. Ugly's lives up to it's name. The service can be excellent or it can be crap. The food is usually really good, but on the odd occasion my chicken wings have been burned to a crisp. And they sent them out like that. On a night when you want to party and drink, again the service can be awesome and other nights to try to desperately get drunk is almost impossible. Money to spend, booze to drink and not a bar maid in sight....too busy talking to the local drunks holding up the bar instead of paying attention to the customers. Why am I a fan....mostly because it's a social place. I've been going there for years, mostly to socialize with my friend and I've made new ones at Ugly's as well. This place holds a lot of wonderful memories from over the years. Ugly's, on occasions, is dirty, the service isn't always great, very often one is forgotten, the bathrooms are so dirty you need to stand up to pee....guys are so lucky. Sometimes your food is incinerated. But on the good days, and there are good ones, the food is excellent, the bar maids are awesome...however the bathrooms are still scary. Depends what your looking for. It is quite quaint, in that it has been around for a long time. Periodic musical entertainment is fun. Definitely not 5 star rating but fun. read more
