The wings are meaty and seasoned well- a great price especially on Wednesdays: $4 for 8 wings! I rarely have a problem finding a preferred table- I like booths over chairs and low tables over taller ones. Plus, they won Red Deer Wing Fest people's choice award this past summer. The rest of their menu is pretty good too- I'd recommend the Murph's chips both loaded and not loaded. Only real downside is sometimes the karaoke music gets a little loud to have conversations and service is intermittent sometimes, depending on who is your server. All in all, Murph's a great place to go for wings or a drink with friends!

First off, props that they were able to allow us a reservation for 60 people. That's no small feat in Sylvan. Hubs and I came early after a stroll in the icy cold and decided to warm up with a bowl of the chef's housemate chowder soup - and it was delicious! A perfect warm up from the cold. Hubs had a local Snake Lake beer and I had water. For mains we ordered the Inferno Burger (which was so wet that it was fall apart and not something I could really eat) and Rocket Salad with Chicken. I didn't try the burger as mentioned above and Hubs did eat it but said that he would not recommend it. He said it was hard to put his finger on but it definitely did not match it's name and was quite wet with a lot of some sort of burger sauce. The Rocket Salad with Chicken was exactly as described and a nice break from the usual pub fare. Our kiddo had wings and onion rings - they were gobbled up quickly. Overall, I'm giving a 4 star = Good and I would return but not enthusiastically. I think I'd prefer this place as a bar (which it is) but later in the evening when kids aren't allowed for a drink and a round of pool. The food was okay but pricey (as most stuff in Sylvan is). I bet this place is hopping in the summer as it has prime real estate right on the main drag against the lake.

We really quite like the covered patio, as it's basically like sitting inside but so nicely decorated. Parking is around and about in this area if you don't find something right out front, but not too bad of a walk. Our friend always orders the #28 dragon bowl and every time only has good things to say about it. It does have amazing color and looks delightful. This time we tried the Chefs corner items which we were all very happy about. The French Dip was a huge portion, very filling. And nice sides choices like salad, fries, or even poutine. The bread was crispy and tender! We also go the chefs corner Crispy Chicken Ramen. Beautiful! The chicken had a little spice on it but if you aren't into spice they could omit that. Broth was nice and not too spicy even for the little kids. Speaking of kids, nice big bathrooms and a change table! Plus high chairs available too. The server was super great when our son wanted to order a burger and fries even though it 'isn't on their menu' still put a kids one together and even cut it and plated it for my two boys. It was quite big so glad they shared it!

As an example, my bro had the grilled chicken sandwich for $12.50, which comes with brie & caramelized onions. His comment was, "Earls could learn a thing or two!" Eggs were perfectly poached the old school way. My aunt loved her prime rib hash with beets, the dish looked beautiful as well. I had the goat cheese omelette with tomato relish, caramelized onions, shrimp and ham. Really good, served with just the right amount of little potato pan-fries and toast. Everyone loved their meals, service was prompt and friendly, and they let us hang out and chat until they had to close up at 3. Recommended for a good quality, reasonably priced brunch. Ambience is lacking, but otherwise it's a winner.

Our party of 5 was greeted and quickly taken to a table on the dining room side. The high-top table was comfortable, with a leather bench on two sides, and a chair on the third (the waitresses, however, had trouble reaching the top to pour water). The food menu is pretty typical: appetizers, sandwiches, salads, "favourites", and burgers, as well as steak. Our group got an order of wings and an order of gyoza to start, and a range of dishes for our meal. Both starters were good - the wings were extra crispy, although not terribly meaty. I ordered the Grilled Cheeseburger for my meal, with sides of Caesar salad and poutine. This was a bit disappointing. The burger came out cold, and with an unmelted slice of processed cheddar. I sent it back to the kitchen to be fixed. The second attempt was better - the burger was on top the cheese, so it actually melted this time. The whole thing was gigantic - more than I could comfortably eat, and was flavoured enough to not need extra condiments. The poutine, however, was also a bit sad - the gravy wasn't hot enough to melt the cheese curds, so I effectively ate fries and gravy while leaving the cheese chunks to the side. Nobody else in my party really had any issues with their meals - curry, a rice bowl, butter chicken, and ribs, so it looks like I just got unlucky. I'll likely try it again, but I'll stick to a salad or saucy dish that will be better if served cold. 3/5 due to cold food, uninspired menu, and a general inability to impress.
