Money for value, this place is pretty bad. $20 dollars a salad with no added protein, if you do decide to add some protein, you end up playing close to $30. That being said, the solo salad was pretty small. We ordered the Kale Caesar with dressing on the side, a Buffalo Fry Sandwich, and a side of fries for $5. The salad itself is built well and there are lots of variations for you to choose from should you decide to take the U-Pick salad. Buffalo Fry sandwich was fried chicken breasts, which was in good portion, but still very expensive considering it doesn't come with fries or salad included. Overall, the salad and sandwich didn't taste like it was worth $20 dollars a piece and the environment definitely didn't make up for it either with tables being tight. My first time here, courtesy of an invitation, and I was not disappointed! This place is in The Village center, and close to the west side just past the Pig place. There is indoor seating, currently closed, but also a decent outside area with small tables and a couple of picnic sized tables. An outdoor heater was close to the building, but if you sat near the mall side you would need layers depending on the weather. The inside has a nice ambience, subdued with a lot of menu boards at one end a a self-serve display of beverages, such as sparkling waters and natural sodas. The staff was very friendly, and this night there was no wait to order. I have heard that at lunch times and weekends the line can be out the door, so I am glad for small miracles like this night! The menus are heavy on salads. You can choose a house designed salad or make up your own. Sandwiches include meats, but there are two veggie (not vegan) options. There is also a kid's menu, and some desserts available, including a tower of varied flavors of rice Krispy squares. We ordered a seasonal "spring" salad, with not one but TWO sides Grilled Niman Flank Steak. We also ordered a tomato bisque soup (they have a soup di jour, but only one option) which came with croutons and two small slices of French bread, and a burrata "grilled" sandwich - fresh mozzarella burrata, Roma tomato, arugula & pesto aioli on a ciabatta roll. The salad was large to begin with, and with the added steak was a meal in and of itself. The soup was tasty, and nice and hot! The sandwich, which online shows as grilled, was tasty and full of cheese and veggies. The ciabatta was nicely toasted and crunchy but not too dried out to be inedible - just right! I'm not fond of arugula, but the amount was good; next time I need to remember extra aioli! The prices can add up - with all the food and two canned sodas - it was $55 for two of us, which I guess can be seen as not too bad, or average for the Village! We saw a shopping center off the interstate in Corte Madera, and walked through the Corte Madera Town Center to explore the dining options. The shopping center has tons of free parking with a variety of restaurants. We stumbled upon the Blue Barn Gourmet and loved the variety of food options they had there. We both ordered the Truffle sandwich ($14) and it was prepared fresh and was very tasty. The service was also very good there as well. Decent food, nice staff, but the added service fees are insulting. You're already charging me $20 for a one quart salad and then you add an "Employer Mandate" fee. Have there not always been employer mandates? Why do you now make it an add-on? Pay your people what they demand to do the job and price your products accordingly. Don't insist that is an add-on to your customers! Now they've added an OLO. What is an OLO? That's an "online ordering" fee of an additional 5% of your order total "to cover the cost of the platform". For your webpage? Seriously??? Their OLO platform makes it almost mandatory to tip. For a to-go order of salad? TIP was for a server who came to your table, took your food order, delivered it to you, checked in to make sure you received what you ordered, and asked about dessert. That's what a tip is for. Not a suggested additional 18%-25% for someone to hand you your salad so you can eat elsewhere on your own dishes. Enough! It is insulting and ridiculous. Many of your customers resent these fees. Work it out for your business to be profitable but knock off the additional fees, aka taxes, you impose. And I'm not tipping where there's no server or dining in on your dishes. read more

I got the Burrata sandwich and casbah salad here. The burrata was so creamy and the bread was perfectly crispy and toasted, and the pesto sauce was rich and creamy. Disappointing. My salad smelled off. It was on the counter and my friend walked in saying something smelled rotten. There were a few pieces of lettuce that ruined my salad. The slice or 2 of the focaccia was 1/3 the size of 1 slice. The kids' meal of salmon was supposed to come with vegetables. Only a sad little piece of salmon. I ordered a Buddha sandwich ($12) to go on a Sunday around noon. It took about 15 minutes. It definitely was a packed sandwich. I LOVED the goat cheese and the flavors all went together well. It can be seen as a bit pricier, but you are definitely paying for the fresh ingredients. I would have liked a bit more mushroom, but overall all a yummy hiking sandwich. This is a great lunch spot when you're craving a filling sandwich or salad. The portion sizes are always huge and I always seem to have leftovers after eating here (as in I can only finish half a sandwich). My go to is always the clubber and fries and it never disappoints. The fries are ALWAYS crispy so that's a big plus. I've tried both the Cobber and Tostada salads and man, I didn't think salads could be so filling! I'm not much of a Cobb salad person, but this one is DELICIOUS. I've heard a lot of good things about the steak sandwich so that is next on my try list! The BLT was terrible. The bacon wasn't crispy and tasted very low quality and had been cooked hours before and just left sitting out. For $17 at least use good smoked bacon freshly cooked. The goat cheese on the sandwich was incredibly strong and they slathered it on extremely thick. It overwhelmed the sandwich. Overall incredible disappointment. When I ordered I was not presented any options for a side (fries, tots, salad etc). Missed sale there. Really lame service. Mentioned to manager on my way out and she thanked me for feedback. I am sad that I did not try this place sooner. I have not been to the Corte Madera area in at least a year, but prior to COVID, I used to go at least once a month. Most of the time, we are at the Pig and a Pickle next door because there was none around us, but noticed this place was always busy. Fast forward a year and I came to visit with friends while our kids were at a soccer camp. It was a weekday during lunch time and the plaza it was located in was busier than I have ever seen it. Blue barn had a line out the door but we wanted something light and they have a large salad selection. My two friends opted for the Thai Chicken Salad, but as soon as I saw their sandwich selection, I decided to go that route. I prefer sliced bread versus ciabatta, so I noticed their BLT which had a twist because it included goat cheese. I am a huge fan of goat cheese but never thought of pairing it with bacon. Let me tell you, it is a match made in heaven. Not to mention the pesto sauce that accompanied my sandwich. I will admit, eating it got pretty messy but it was all worth it. The bread was crispy, plenty of greens and a generous portion of goat cheese and bacon. Goat cheese can sometimes be overpowering but the creaminess of the cheese meshed well with the pesto sauce. The portion size it large so I only ate one half. I debated forcing down the other half because I thought it would get soggy from the pesto sauce if I ate it later. I opted to save it and I am glad I did. I was able to enjoy the second half later. Yes, one side of the sandwich was a bit soggy but everything else was delicious. I would like to say I will try something new next time, but I also think, why mess with a good thing. One thing is for sure, I will be back. read more

Chicken Caesar salad is delicious! I only been to this location once. I usually go to the one in Marina area and the French Fries it's so tasty I love the type of fries they used. The salad is nice because they put fresh kale in it and it really makes it even more worth having. I love when there's a mix of greens that's so fresh and squeezed with lemon. Overall I give this one place a 4.5. I like the ambiance, it's very cute. You can't go wrong especially you want something healthy and clean. Don't forget to try their in-house kombucha!!!!! My sandwich from Blue Barn was the perfect meal after a long hike. Satisfying, comforting, delicious, and full of nourishing ingredients.

This place is our go-to whenever we need a quick and healthy meal at the mall. I absolutely love the Truffle sandwich--it is really hard to go wrong with melty brie, focaccia bread, and truffle-roasted garlic aioli sauce. The salads are also equally tasty. The Waldorf salad is one of the best salads I've ever had but it's important to emphasize that the salads at this particular Blue Barn location taste fresher for some reason. As with most of the salads here, the Waldorf has a nice balance in flavors and textures. With the Fuji apple slices, strawberries, raisins, and candied pecan pieces, it definitely leans sweet, which is my preference. The goat cheese and pomegranate poppyseed dressing add a complementary tartness, and the crispy quinoa provides a nice crunch against the backdrop of house and romaine leaves. A salad menu so extensive, that it took me the whole 10 minutes I was waiting in line to make a decision. What even made me even more indecisive was the UPick menu which must've at least 100 ingredients on there. Ultimately, I ended up with the Fattoush salad ($13.75) a huge bowl of romaine, escarole, radicchio, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, scallions, garbanzo beans, nicoise olives, herbs, crispy pita and feta cheese. Oh man, that's a lot of ingredients! I asked for the champagne-sumac vinaigrette on the side since these type of places always put too much dressing. I want to be able to taste my greens! I was disappointed with the crispy pita (chopped into small pieces that were barely distinguishable) and with that price point, I expected some kind of protein. He liked his Clubber sammich ($13.50) which was generous with the turkey slices, bacon and pepper jack cheese. But I really think it was the jalapeno-bacon aioli that sealed the deal. I don't ever get excited by sandwiches, but I have to admit, it looked really good. For the price point of my salad, I'd say it's a bit expensive for something without protein.
