Barista makes the drinks for you to pick up on the side table, which is an old trolley, on your own. Yet on the machine expects you to give at the minimum 15% tips, max 25%. With the cheap environment, lack of social skills, emotionless faces, I really wonder what makes them think they could ask for more than 10%. The drink itself is already $5.46. The barista always checks the receipts to see if I have given any tips. Their faces turn sour. -2 Final note: Dear Owner of Poor Furnished Bubble Tea Place. I do not know how much you pay your employees, but please pay your workers fairly and treat them with respect. It is not the duty of the customer to take projected emotions from a low paid employee. The term 'hidden gem' is very appropriate for this place. Its tucked away and you wouldn't find it unless you were looking for it and its a very good find. Cute bubble tea shop that serves up tasty drinks and desserts. I like how it has a seasonal menu so its offerings change accordingly. Their mango drink is packed with fresh mango, milk teas are awesome, pearls so far have always been on point. Definitely the best bubble tea shop in the North Burnaby area. This place is so good and I am so sad that I didn't get to stay in Vancouver for come here over and over again. There was only one server when I came here on a day trip to Vancouver. In Chicago, there are no shaved snow places, other than Snow Dragon, but this place puts Snow Dragon to shame. I ordered the Mango Shaved Snow, which was mango over mango. Who doesn't like mangoes? The mangoes were so sweet and juicy and were extremely fresh. The shaved snow was so fluffy and consistent in texture. Definitely try to find this place if you are in Vancouver. It is hidden between a residential area. I would seriously move to Vancouver (and in that area) just for this dessert place. read more

We just spent lovely afternoon at this hidden gem where the owners pride themselves on quality. They use real fruit menu and deserts are freshly made. I've searched high and low for a place that can serve delicious snow ice....yes snow ice and not shave ice. What is snow ice? It's a cross between ice cream and the traditional shaved ice desserts (popular in Hawaii and Asia) topped with fruits, and other assorted yummies. Since we were there late afternoon, we focused on desert. There's a cool electronic dart area in the front but we opt to sit in the back part of the restaurant which was cozy since we wanted to gab the afternoon away. We ordered four items off the menu - the mango juice snow ice with mocha balls, coconut jelly, pearls, mango jelly and a scope of match green tea ice cream. The portion size was large and generous with toppings. It was delicious, the soft ribbon of flavors burst in my mouth. It wasn't too sweet and had great mango flavor. I can't wait till mango is in season again so that it would be top with fresh mango....yum yum. We also ordered the match green tea snow ice with four different toppings + mango ice cream. Again, tantalizing and the match green tea was mildly bitter which meant it was authentic. Also had a latte and an Americano. Both cup of Joe had good body, aroma, and flavor. I'm picky about my coffees and was very impress that such delicious coffee was available here. If they were open at 6am, I would definitely be here for my morning coffee and pastry. What and awesome discovery! It seems like such a random place for a bubble tea shop, but I'm glad I decided to brave the snow and head out here. I picked up the mango with coconut milk with pearls and a milk tea royale with pearls. I loved the mango drink. It was thick and very mango-ey. The topping of fresh mango was nice too. The milk tea was so good. You could really taste the flavour of the tea coming through. In both, the pearls were chewy and soft - the perfect texture. There is free wifi and they have a small selection of games to play while you enjoy your drinks. I'll be back whenever the bubble tea craving hits next! read more

My friend had heard good things about this bubble tea place, so we all went there after work to try it out before heading to dinner. It was located in a primarily residential neightbourhood, so we were a bit surprised about that, but we went in for a look anyways. The place is small, but comfortable, well-lit, and is a completely unassuming bubble tea place. Apparently their selling feature is their fresh mango, so naturally I try it. While we were waiting, my friend (the one who suggested this place), noticed that the place was crawling with ants, and not just one or two, but lines upon lines of them. All right, so there are ants, no big deal, as long as the smoothies are ant-less. The washroom is clean, if that is any indication, and when we got our bubble tea (we got milk tea with condensed milk, strawberry cocktail, and mango coconut) it appeared free of any ants. As for the taste both of my friends were disappointed with their drinks. The first because of the lack of stirring in the condensed milk and the second because the strawberry cocktail didn't really taste of anything. The mango coconut tasted as I would except, a smooth, milky mango bubble tea, with chunks of mango on top. I also asked for a separate cup, or something so I could share mine with my friend, but they said it would cost extra just for another cup, which was a bit frustrating, so I chose not to get the separate cup. I would probably never go there again, as the prices weren't that great either ($7-$9). They need to take care of their ant problem during the summer as well. The bubble tea itself is fine and it seems like a nice place to study or do some work on your laptop. So I have experienced better, and my experience with this place is regrettably lackluster. read more

I've come here a couple times to grab bubble tea on the go. More recently I ordered the regular milk tea (half sweet) with pearls ($5) and it was excellent. It's great to have a bbt place in North Burnaby. My favorite drink are the matcha red bean, matcha matcha, as well as their fresh mango drinks. They are a bit on the pricier side but the drinks are also a bit fancier than your normal bbt. It's a nice treat if you are in the SFU, Kensington area. read more

My go-to bubble tea cafe in north burnaby. I love to come here and grab a fresh mango yuzu drink and then go up to burnaby mountain for a relaxing day trip. It's still probably a neighbourhood gem, but I would say it definitely beats driving all the way to richmond for a fresh mango drink. One word of advice though - stick with the bubble tea and skip on any of the frozen ice snacks. The frozen ice snacks can easily get you above $10 and you're better off going to icy bar at metro. i LOVE mango and anything that has mango in it. I have been on shaved ice/ice cream kick lately. With the weather very hot...better time than any to get on this trend. I had the mango shaved ice. Prices were reasonable, service was decent. There is ample seating, however, there are a lot of campers. There was no air conditioning. It wasn't hot but you could feel the heat from the outside, therefore, the ice cream melted faster than anticipated. I still kept up with it. I haven't tried their bubble tea yet. Been coming to this place once every couple months or so. The central ish location is good to meet friends who live closer to Vancouver, as I'm in Coquitlam. The mango shaved ice is pretty good, although I do miss the watermelon supreme. Prices aren't too bad, especially for the shaved ice as the portion size is quite large for one person. I've only had one bad experience where the person taking my order wasn't 100% clear on what item I had actually ordered. Instead of just making the thing anyways and then telling me I had to pay extra to accommodate for the cost, the person taking my order should have just confirmed what I had asked for. read more

Im surprised that no one have written a review for them yet! Honestly , this is hands down the best bubble tea place around Burnaby(maybe even Vancouver). They have a lot of different flavors here. Even when it is busy the quality is always up there. I come here so very often and I never get tired of their drinks. Hong kong style milk tea is the BEST here. This is a fantastic little gem in a quiet area, great for both groups and to go to alone to take advantage of some peace and quiet and free wifi. While it's a little on the pricy side, everything I've had here has been of such good quality and made with such good ingredients that I have a hard tile complaining! I'm particularly fond of the taro and milk teas, and both the shaved ice and dumplings have been really good. Their tapioca pearls are really good as well; whereas some venues don't have their pearls soaked all the way through or soaked too much, this place does them perfectly; soft with a little bit of a satisfying chew to them. read more
