It really seems like someone in management decided since then to cut corners and save as much money as possible per dessert. Not sure if this is true, but it's the vibe I'm getting now compared to when they first opened. And even if it's not true, it's still a very bad impression to give to any customer. I wish them well but not sure how long they will last running like this. Yes, they might make more money for one visit by cutting back on each dessert, but customers won't return after the bad first impression. Without repeat customers, it will be very difficult to stay in business.

I'd spotted C Fruit Life, which was nearby, so we decided to give them a try. It's a HK style dessert chain. We dropped in on a Saturday evening (around 10:00pm). The inside is new and has a mix of tables and stools to sit at. There's also two entrances; they kept one of the doors open so it was chilly to sit on that end. Service was okay but workers spoke limited English. Menu is split into mein mein ice, recommends, fruit mix, ice cream, fruit smoothies, milkshakes, milk foam tea, soup lovers and pastries. - Mango snowdae ($9.99) - they make it fresh, which made for a light, thin shaved texture. Mangoes were good and even the mochi was tasty. It had a sticky, chewy texture. Solid. - Avocado & mango blast ($4.99) - this wasn't what we were expecting. The drink comes out split; half avocado on top and half mango on the bottom. It's also really small. Even when you mix the two parts together, it's still not satisfying. Disappointing and I love my avocado mango drinks! On the fence with CFL.

Portland-like grunge meets Korean bingsoo. If there is such thing as an Asian dessert dive bar,…read morethis is it. Filthy bathroom, unswept floors, sticky tables. An eccentric collection of wall decor. Furniture looked picked up from a donation center. Yet the place is packed. Bingsoo is flavorful, nice fluff & toppings great. Service was smiley and courteous despite the busyness. And they were hustling serving the orders. Freezing outside but inside coats are off and enjoying the warmth of conversations & laughter. It appeared to be popular amongst the newer generation.

dinner with the girls ended far too soon, but we weren't quite ready to call it a night just yet…read more so naturally, we did what any reasonable group of women would do after dinner: went for dessert at mr frosty. this korean dessert cafe has no shortage of tempting options, bingsoo, waffles, taiyaki, croffles, basque cheesecakes, tiramisu, cookies, macarons, milkshakes and plenty of drinks. basically, the hardest part is figuring out what not to order. i eventually settled on the tiramisu bingsoo, and it turned out to be a very good decision. the shaved milk ice was incredibly light and delicate, with a soft, fluffy texture almost like freshly fallen snow. it practically dissolved on the tongue, while the tiramisu added layers of creamy richness and mellow coffee flavour. the combination of cold, airy milk ice, sweet cream and coffee made every bite feel surprisingly light, despite how indulgent the whole thing looked. and there was a small espresso pour over, adding a warm hit of bold coffee that soaked into the fluffy bingsoo and intensified those tiramisu flavours. digging in proved to be a little messy, delicious and absolutely impossible to eat gracefully. sitting there happily sharing my dessert, i suddenly realized i had broken one of my not so hard and fast rule, that of no eating after 8 pm. c'est la vie. we don't get together often enough anyways.

Last time I came here though I recall it being more decorated. There were lots of whimsical decorations hanging from the ceiling. Seemed to be more simple and basic now. Nothing wrong with that though. It's a clean, spacious shop with ample seating and big windows allowing lots of natural light to come in. I dropped by here to order a Roasted Milk Tea cuz on the 1st and last day of each month, Sun Tea members can order a large sized Milk Tea for just $3.99. They have Regular Milk Tea and Roasted Milk Tea. We've tried both versions and they're both good but we like the Roasted Milk Tea best. I ordered it with less ice and 50% sweetness. Quality of drinks at Sun Tea never seems to disappoint no matter which location we go to. This one was no exception to that rule. Service was a bit slow on this visit. I think they had a lot of online orders to prepare as I didn't see that many people in the shop. Guess it's a popular location. They also have some yummy looking desserts in their shop. Thai Milk Tea Cake Box sounded very tempting. I might try that next time. I skipped it this time as I had come here by foot and had a substantial walk ahead of me when I left the shop so didn't care to be carrying a cake for that long walk.
