There were only a few tables in the cafe so we did have to wait about 10 minutes for a seat. Servers were super kind and delivered all of our drinks and pastries to our table. We ended up going with the Oolong Creme Tea and a Hot Chocolate. Both drinks were great, I was a big fan of the tea. It comes with a huge tea bag, so you can have multiple cups if you want to get your moneys' worth! For the pastries, we had the Almond Croissant and one of the scones. The croissant was moist and flaky, but the scone was a bit dry (it's not as bad if you drink it with some tea though). This is a cute little cafe inside Hillcrest Mall! If you are looking for a quick snack this is a good place to grab a bite and snap some Instagram pics while you're at it!

Flower Shop - they have a good variety of bouquets both large and small, as well as non-flower bouquets (think plushie with snacks etc.) Dopa Pen Coffee Shop - They have a menu with a great variety of choices, yet not overwhelming. Coffee is good. You can also get little chocolates here as well. They put a lot of care into packaging so that it looks nice and ready to gift. This goes for both the flowers and when taking home your finished products from the workshop. It's very easy to book workshops and custom bouquets through their Wechat. Note that it is a small cafe so there isn't a lot of seating. There are a few seats at the tables and a few seats at the coffee bar. It can be hard to find seating especially when there is a workshop going on. They can also get pretty busy.

We came on a Sunday afternoon and the shop was busy. I bought a bouquet of flowers for my friend's bday and the service is very good. The florist was very friendly and helpful. Gateaux de Paris is not one of them because it specializes in French style Cakes but from the store front, you'll think it's a cutesy Floral & Gift shop. Well, that's the idea especially at that LAST minute when you know you need the following: Cake + Flowers(Not Cheap!) + Whatever you need to save your life = HAPPY Whoever(Priceless) Green Tea Cake($25.00) had Cake layers that are light and fluffy while the White Chocolate shell outside just gives is a slight sweetness. Overall when I asked for a Cake that isn't too sweet, this recommendation was perfect however I didn't taste much Green Tea in the Cream or anywhere else. I think Green Tea Cakes should be left to Japanese Bakeries but as a Cake in general it is fine. Also the on-the-spot Lettering is a nice feature. It's A-OK as a Cake Shop however at this moment, I've had better Green Tea(Bakery Nakamura closed Mondays). 2.5'd

It distinguished itself from half a dozen other pastry shops in the mall since it offers French style desserts and cakes, with sweetness/richness slightly toned down to suit Asian preference. I guess being French isn't good enough for business in a Chinese shopping mall, and the owners have to add floral or whatever other businesses to supplement? The store front is beyond recognition (as a cake shop), a much smaller selection of cakes and mini desserts are on offering compared to what they had before, the cakes still taste quite good (Mont Blanc, Green tea / Mango mousse, Opera, etc.) and owners/managers still try to be friendly and helpful, but it just doesn't have the same appeal so I am a far less frequent customer now. Sad.

As for the drinks, expect the standard complement of espresso drinks, plus chai and matcha lattes and loose leaf teas. Beans are supplied by Toronto-based De Mello Coffee and baked goods are made locally, too. Although the shop is quiet, the service is friendlier than most coffee shops in the city, which I always appreciate. Those are the little things that make me want to return.

The local Toronto florists recently opened a storefront this May and the space is beyond gorgeous - definitely perfect for a girls day out or even a date to yourself. The shop is painted a calming coral pink colour where there are plants, vases, and flowers throughout. They do have grab and go bouquets as well near the cashier. They have coffee as well as wine by the glass (or bottle!) as well as a selection of items for sale (cards, jewelry, prints, scrunchies, etc.). There are several tables as well as a cute couch area set up for you to hang out in. I dropped by Bloom Bar Studio on a Sunday around noon after following them on Instagram for the longest time. The store is super cute and pretty where there's lots to look at. I opted to get a flat white from the counter where it was made at a reasonable time. The staff were extremely friendly and personable. I sat for a bit after getting my coffee where I enjoyed the space. The coffee wasn't the best I've had but wasn't the worst either. Overall, an extremely cute space for coffee, wine, or to grab some flowers! Definitely do check them out if you are around the area!
