I rarely write reviews, but I won't be using this florist again. You get one chance to make a first impression and this was a major letdown. I ordered an expensive upgraded arrangement and their Luxe largest upgrade option, and requested that it resemble the photo. What was delivered was a small unimpressive (poor quality) bouquet that looked nothing like what I ordered. The flower selection was cheap, and the overall quality was far below what I expected for the price. On top of this, within 24 hours the cheap flowers were wilting. The delivery person left the flowers with a neighbor since the recipient was not home after Wild North called them on the phone. Discovered this new business which is mostly online from Facebook. I've been on the search for a good florist/flower shop since my usual florist retired. I was delighted to see such beautiful arrangements, fair pricing and free delivery within the GTA. It was a very easy process to order the flowers online and it was nice to see a florist using local growers and flowers that are in season. After placing my order online, I received an email confirmation within the next 10 minutes. Delivery was very smooth, I was not home and I requested to have it delivered and left outside my door for my sister (this was a gift for her birthday). It was well packaged with a handwritten card and business card attached. It was a very personal touch to have the card handwritten. Later that day after 5pm, I received confirmation email from Jacquelyn with a photo of the flowers. Overall, communication and customer service with Wild North Flowers went smoothly and replies were quick if I had any questions. My wife birthday was coming up and decided to surprise her with a nice bouquet of flowers from Wild North Flowers. I found them through Yelp and the great reviews convince me to order from them along with free delivery to any address with postal code that starts with M. Otherwise is a $10 charge through the GTA. The order must be made online and the website is really easy to use. Prices start at $95 and up. I decided to get with a vase and went with the "bright and cheerful" choice of flowers. I made sure to write a message in which you could do in the website. Also, you can leave specific delivery instructions since the first option is to leave them with the neighbour. They deliver Mondays to Saturdays from 12pm to 6pm. If the address is a business, they promise to have it deliver by 4:30pm. I received an email early in the delivery day with a picture of the bouquet along with the type of flowers: ranunculus, double and fringed tulips, anemones, muscari, spray roses, Asiatic lilies, forsythia among others. They did delivered during the time frame indicated and since we were out left a note with directions that the neighbours had it. The note was handwritten and looked great. My wife loved it! This place is MAGIC. But really, the masterpieces created by WNF are nothing short than phenomenal. My partner had flowers from WNF delivered to me last winter and I never got around to writing a review. My experience with Wild North Flowers was as pleasant as I thought it could be. The checkout process through their website was straightforward. I included notes if I wanted something specific. Mine were more directional. I asked for a "romantic" theme. I honestly don't even know what that means. Romantic is so subjective, but I trusted the yelp reviews and website pictures. I did specify that the recipient's favorite color is pink. The person who received the flowers loved them. She thought they were gorgeous so I'm very happy with the results. I was struggling with anticipation when the flowers were due to deliver (I really wanted to know what they looked like). I eventually received a pic of the delivery shortly after the delivery (not too long after, but I did have to ask the recipient to send me a pic first because I couldn't wait). I'm ordering another arrangement this week. This time I asked for it to be delivered to her office. I'm excited. I think two things would make everything perfect (right now, my actual rating is 4.9 - if that even matters): 1) Maybe a shorter delivery time window? 12-6 pm is a little too long of a range for me. A 3 hour delivery window would be ideal. I didn't want her to stay home all day to wait for the delivery. I do understand the challenges of giving a shorter range - a lot of outside factors can affect delivery times and I'm not familiar with the volume of deliveries and GTA traffic. 2) More because I'm excited and impatient, but it would be amazing to get the pic before the delivery. I would understand if the business doesn't opt to do this because delivering is more of a priority. Also, I could see how annoying it would be if somebody received a picture of their order beforehand and demanded changes. Wild North Flowers is amazing. Their lovely studio is beautifully tucked away and cutely hidden from the noisy and busy vibes of the city! That way you can go hide there for a little while from the rustle and bustle of the 6, and shop or browse peacefully! Feels like you've escaped to a fairy's workshop! The space is so inspiring! I have followed their studio for quite some time now on instagram, and recently had the opportunity to have a one on one workshop with the Head Designer there. I was so stoked when our schedules matched! It was wonderful, informative, helpful, and thorough! We started off by talking about colour theory, types of flowers/greens, shapes of bouquets, and how to organize your workspace when starting on an arrangement! We practiced by picking out blooms, and started out by making small bouquets and moved onto larger ones! We also had time to make some boutonnières and corsages! It was a really great time! The flowers I received from these company are gorgeous, came with a vase on its own which made it so easy. The handwritten note was placed perfectly between the flowers. The instructions they have to keep the flowers alive is very clear and easy to follow (and written on a cute little card). My husband recently ordered me a floral arrangement with a "bright and cheerful" colour palette for our wedding anniversary but what I received was far from that. I received an arrangement that looked like fall foliage more for Thanksgiving dinner than something bright and cheerful. To make matters worse, the flowers that were already bloomed wilted before the rest of the flowers bloomed. When I emailed to communicate my displeasure and disappointment, Emily responded saying that the photos on their website only provide a sense of scale and that they have "design notes" to specify individual preferences. My displeasure is not due to my own preferences but due to having received a floral arrangement that did not match what my husband had ordered and paid for. I also find it odd that although the photos on the website are only to show a sense of scale, when you click the different colour palettes, the photos shown match these palettes. Very deceptive. Photos aside, when a customer chooses "bright and cheerful" as the colour palette and the arrangement delivered does not match what they ordered, measures should be taken to correct this. It is clear from their response that they do not value customer feedback or satisfaction. Once your order is paid for, it does not matter to them whether you receive an arrangement that matches with what you ordered.
