Bloomingdales....home of the excellent customer service...if you can find anyone to wait on you. Went to buy upscale knife and then pots. My husband walked around the department for 20 minutes while I waited by the knives. I located a woman at a cash register who said she could not help as she had to turn in her cash but she would mention it to the manager. Nothing happen, my husband is still roaming and finally waiting at the single open cash register where the sales rep was busy with other customers. All of the employees were nice...no problem there. Problem is there are no employees. The manager came out and said she could not help - she was purses and ?. So I said I will get my husband and leave. She then opened the display for the knives and then with another employee who finally finished at the register came to help find a knife. They could not open the other drawers. End of story, one knife, discount for our inconvenience and no doubt my vocal dissatisfaction that I am in Bloomingdales, not a discount store where I expect to find no service and can't find anyone to wait on us...total time waiting for a employee was almost a half hour. Needless to say, we left without buying the Le Ceruset oval Dutch oven...sticker price $600. That's why people are leaving the brick and mortar and buy on line. But Bloomingdales? No help on a Friday (August 11)night? I won't be back. read more
