Needed help finding "Women's Belts" in this large store two states away that I was not familiar with. After roaming around a while "lost" I saw "Marie" in the women's' section and asked her. With a great welcoming smile, she stopped what she was doing and took us right to the display around a corner and then asked if we needed anything else. What an excellent employee! The kids Lego event was very lame. The craft kits ran out after 10 minutes. The staff who was handing out the candy and buttons were mean. She saw us but she passed us twice. It was a mess I don't recommend the event to anyone. read more

This store moved last year from its old building across the parking lot into the old Lord and Taylor building at Willowbrook. All I can say is wow! The old location had muted colors and was blah blah bland. The new location is beautiful! White marble tiles and lots of light! The location is way more accessible to Willowbrook foot traffic too. JC Penny is a historic department store. My family has been customers through the generations. I have been to Wayne to the Mall many times over the years and I'm not sure why my review and photos are missing. Naturally I would be with my daughter and we always enjoyed shopping at Penny's. One year for my birthday I purchased myself a pair of Pearl earrings. The brand is Sofia. Since the time I purchased them they have gone up in price. I'm very disappointed that the pearls keep falling off. Luckily I'm at home and I haven't lost the pearls yet! My daughter keeps gluing the pearls on. I've tried to find the company website to write to them. I didn't pay Penny's for the insurance. Bottom line of the story is that if you search this Sofia brand pearls Penny's pops up! They carry inferior jewelry in my opinion. I won't shop the jewelry department again! My recommendation is....Do not buy this brand of pearl earrings! read more

I've been a long time customer of JC Penny and if you read my previous review you know I had become quite disenchanted with the location in Wayne. Recently, they relocated from the shopping plaza that houses Costco to the Willowbrook Mall just across the street. What a difference! The store looks beautiful, The inventory is plentiful with much more variety and even the employees seem reinvigorated. I'm reserving judgment a bit because everything's new and I'm sure the corporate owners are putting their best foot forward. Let's see if I feel this way in a year. For now though, count me impressed. read more

The store has a good selection and sales on certain days but customer service at the register needs to improve, the lady at the register clearly did not want to work, she was rude and dismissive, I asked her a question and she answered as she walks away, I told her she was being rude. I was literally shocked when a salesperson approached me today while I was there at lunchtime and asked if she could help me find something. I thought those days were over! Christine brought me over to the Liz section and another salesperson (I forget to look at her nametag) asked me the type of sweater I wanted, the color, etc and brought me to a nice selection (I bought two). I'm so used to central cash register counters and no salesperson in sight at other stores who know their departments and can help you. Talk about the old days--anyway, it was fabulous and I have re-discovered JCP and it's now my go-to, Thank you for your great customer service! This review is for the Hair Salon Only! I would rate the salon service a zero if possible! The following unprofessional service occurred on Monday, August 12, 2024 when our 3:30pm appointment was dismissed by the stylist, Nancy. When we arrived, she was immediately rude and bluntly told my daughter that she didn't have time to do a full-head of highlights because she gets off at 5:30pm. Nancy was extremely condescending and aggressive and stated in a nasty tone, "Why didn't you come this morning." My daughter replied that she made the highlighting appointment online and the online reservation was confirmed for the requested treatment for 3:30pm. Nancy was annoyed and seemed unknowledgeable about the online reservation system. She told my daughter that she would only have time to do a half head and walked away to take payment from her last client. I suggested that we make an appointment with a different stylist for another day/time as it was obvious that this stylist didn't want to do her hair. She wanted to stay and said would settle with just getting half of her head done because she has too much to do before leaving for college in a few weeks. We quietly sat and waited for over 15min for Nancy to return to start. Nancy never came back. We finally got up and walked to the front where we saw Nancy just hanging out at the register with other staff. She made no effort to apologize for any delay or inconvenience. It was obvious that she had no intention of doing even a half head of highlights. I'm guessing she only said that option in hopes we canceled. The corporate offices of JC Penney would be appalled to know how unprofessional their in-store hair salon staff are in the Wayne, NJ Willowbrook Mall location. Not only did the salon lose a minimum sale/fee of $175 for the scheduled full head of highlights appointment but JC Penney also lost store revenue we would have added to their bottom line yesterday as we were planning to go back to college shopping after her hair was done. Big loss - as my daughter is an incoming College Freshman who needs dorm supplies and clothes (she wore a uniform in high school). JC Penney should consider getting rid of their salons and rent to a vendor who wants to be there and would help keep clients in the store to shop. read more

While the store is pretty good, the women's dressing rooms are terrible. Always dirty can tell when they were last cleaned. Problem also women's dressing rooms only one ever opens . You have to go for one side of the store to the far side. They used to have four open one near the front one on the left side and two in the right side. Then forget the lines when one open . I put stuff back to avoid standing there. The store needs to value people and their time more. read more

This JCP is nice. Very easy to find parking even right after work during a weekday. I come to this store often since it's by work. There are not huge messes everywhere like other JCPs. There is some cleanliness to this store. They use to have a cash register in the Willington brand section for women casual clothing but they turned it into a clearance rack area now. Not such a good idea since the register by women's dresses always has a line. But they made up for it by pretty much always having at least two registers open at that station. The only thing this JCP needs is the price scanning machines !! Please please please. That would eliminate time spent at registers if there were scanners with signs in the most popular areas. Reduce time spent at registers which means more people will wait to buy since there is a quick turn around. I can't imagine how many people put their stuff on the rack by the exit because they don't want to wait. :-) This is my second favorite jcp. First is easy Brunswick since their shoe department is better. This shoe department always is short staffed. read more

Stopped by last week to get some blinds for my bedroom. I wasn't looking for anything extravagant, but was surprised with their selection. I didn't even know they had a window treatment section, but they have a big variety depending on what you're looking for. I ended up looking at cellular blinds and they had stock items that fit my dimensions. Renee was extremely helpful in helping me find what I was looking for. The blinds I picked out were labeled $75 but when I asked Renee about this, she pointed out they were on a 40% off sale. She also told me where I could find a 15% off coupon so I ended up getting the blinds half off! I was ecstatic and they look great in my house! I definitely suggest you check this out if you're having trouble with window treatments. And ask for Renee- she's great! read more

Great store, employees, products and prices!  Shehera (x5), Glen (4), Greta, Paulo (3) and all of the other employees have been most professional, courteous, personable, efficient,  helpful and patient!  These employees greeted me, told me   about sale  opportunities, reminded me of rewards, etc.  The manager is   great, too!  Other very helpful employees include Saira, Hiya, Marinol,  Jim (x2), Dwayne,  Zoe, Carlos Burgos, and Melanie.  The staff continues to be  excellent and  so do the prices for nice merchandise!  The number in parentheses next to their name is the approximate number of times that they helped me out. I stopped in  again on labor day  to pick up clothing for a  toddler. All of the staff were most helpful in the Christmas season of 2020!   Shehera, Glen, Paulo and others continue to be extremely positive employees! Other positive, helpful employees include:  Andre, associates 0350 and 0683! She does color, weave,cuts,curls, relaxers, natural hair... And she is culturally diverse... willing and able to do all hair types...This woman can cut little kids hair and grandma's hair! Oww! This is a fantastic JC Penny store. You will find sales in this store throughout the year. I always rush here to get some great deals on my workout clothes. The store is always fully stocked and well maintained. Surprisingly, they are always short-staffed. It takes you quite a lot of time to find an associate to help you though. 1st time at the JC Penny Portrait studio and it was the WORST experience. Made it to my appointment 10 minutes before i was scheduled...to stand in line for 15 minutes waiting to get checked in. Booked online for a haircut, and long story short, was told that they couldn't cut my hair because they were doing a coloring which would take two hours, and that they were the only one there today. It's a shame because I used to love this store and honestly still have great deals and the people who work here are very pleasant. the reason for my poor rating is the last few times I've been here they don't have air conditioning on. They also decided to close all of the fitting rooms and just work out of one and it's ridiculous because one fitting room is not enough for all the women in the store who want to try things on. I love that no matter when I come here, it's never too crowded. Their women's section is on the second floor and well-stocked. I don't know if they're short-staffed but there never seems to be waiting room staff around, which can be a detriment when trying on clothes as there are piles of them waiting to be put back. There is one main checkout place on the second floor, which strategically seems to be placed in the children's area. I love that they have elevators around, for bringing carts up and down (be aware, during the peak times, they're a scarcity). read more

Went here to buy my boo some clothes. He is a heavy set guy and requires larger clothes unfortunately the double XL in many of the sections are made for skinny big people if that even makes sense. However, we actually found a section that was made for big and tall men that actually had some nice clothes as far as casual and business casual. They were having a 50% off sale and if you spend over $25 you get $10 off, which was cool. He does not like to shop in the mall because he is a man and you know how they can be, but he was happy with his selection and now we can switch up the wardrobe a little bit. I'd like to shake Ron Johnson's hand. He's the new CEO of JCPenney and I do believe he single-handedly saved this company's brand image. Since their relaunch in February 2012, this store is actually fun to shop in! The new every day low prices are unbelievably low and it's a great place to pick up a last minute anything- blouse, dress, shoes, earrings, jacket, you name it! You never have to remember to bring your coupon or feel bad that you're going to miss a sale because the prices are always low. And twice a month on Fridays (which coincide with most people's pay cycles- GENIUS!!) they have super buys which are slashes on their already low prices- SCORE!!! Since the remodel, the layout of the store is much cleaner and easier to navigate. Everything is organized and the location of things make sense. You don't feel like you walked into a KMart or Sears where everything is everywhere. Bonus: this location has a Sephora in it! read more

I love this JCPenny portraits in Wayne mall center. You know I live an hour away but I rather drive than going to the one that I don't like.Staffs are always nice, helpful and professional. It worths the drive. This time, we have Victoria as our photographer. She was amazing. She is polite, welled trained, skilled and experienced. She took her time to make sure every single post was perfect before she took the picture. She is patient with kids too. Fro how many time, she bent down to fix my daughters dresses and taught her how to put her hand. She's attentive to details, which is important to a family portrait. I cannot say enough good things about Victoria. We love the whole album and I almost bought the entire CD. There are love in the pictures, in everybody 's smile and eyes. we get a lot of compliments. Compared to Macy's Furniture Gallery, the gentleman working in the furniture section actually gave us a few minutes to check out things and then asked if we needed help. He wasn't pushy and let us continue to browse in peace. They always have tremendous discounts every day in addition to their already low prices. To top it off they have a Sephora store inside the store which is convenient when it's your significant others birthday and you totally have no idea what to get her. I would chop down a tree and build a couch with my bare hands before I even thought about ordering one from the JC Penney in Wayne, NJ again. My roommates and I were foolishly excited to have placed an order for a black leather sectional couch on October 17th, 2017. Today is May 9th, 2018 and we still do not have what we ordered. That is almost 7 months. SEVEN MONTHS. Think about all you have done in your apartment/home in the last 7 months. Now imagine it all without a couch in your living room. We ate thanksgiving dinner on the floor. We have also spent countless hours on 25+ calls with customer service since we first noticed an issue after the initial "6-8 week expected delivery time" had passed. They lost our order. We placed another one. They said 6-8 weeks. 10-12 passed. We eventually got a delivery! It was 1 of the 5 pieces we ordered. The employees who answered (and continue to answer) our customer service calls assure us that there is nothing they can do to assist us, and that the additional pieces are "coming." They have also assured us that we absolutely cannot have a discount on our $2000 order despite having waited over 7 months for a couch. I will absolutely not be using/recommending this store for any form of delivery and am disgusted with the lack of concern and care for the customer by JC Penney and it's employees. #SaltyMike #ShouldHaveUsedWayfair read more

SALON REVIEW: there's no individual page for the salon so leaving this here. Came to the store to pick up something for husband before our vacation. I've been running errands all day and my usual wax place had a looonnggg wait. So I skipped it this morning. Notice the salon when I come into JCP. Mental note to check it out when I leave the store. So I shop then head in to ask if they take walk-ins. Yes. How much for eyebrow wax? $12. Cheaper than what I normally pay anyways! Maria comes out and says, we have a coupon today, it'll only be $10. Thank you, Maria! She did such a wonderful job on my eyebrows! She asked me about my preferences, why I prefer wax, shape, etc. A true professional and wonderful person! Don't utilize curbside pickup...after waiting 30+ minutes- I left without obtaining my order

My husband and my son just got haircuts at the salon and they did a terrible job. The guy (selling associate 637) actually cut my son's sideburns completely off. Like a straight line!! Who does that???? Afterwards someone tried to fix it but there was no fixing it. I'm so angry!!! There's a reason I don't cut my sins hair. But not even I would have done such a terrible job. Maybe the salon should test the stylists before hiring them. No doubt I will NEVER go back there again and I will let others know too so that no one else has to go through this. The store has been somewhat updated but I think it still lacks the inviting quality. They do have some good sales if you cat ch it right. The staff are pretty much non-existant except at the registers and they aren't very helpful. On a recent trip I tried to ask for help as I was going to make a large puchase. Due to their lack of help, I ended up sitting on a bench outside of the portrait studio to research the product. I ended up buying sitting there and bought the items on Amazon. read more

The portrait studio is horrendous! They had a Groupon that stated that you get 40 "Premium" Shutterfly holiday cards. Besides having a horrible experience during the photoshop, the cards I received were not premium and did not have the Shutterfly logo on it. I've ordered from Shutterfly before and these were nowhere near the same quality. They were blurry pictures printed on regular cardstock. I could have printed these on my home printer. They keep trying to upsell me to get better quality products. I'm embarrassed to send these out. read more
