If your sole purpose for going to target is to check out their dollar spot (bc for some folks it is..), then the Fairfield location is not for you. Sadly, it is consistently picked thru /messy /and just empty. In the last few years I've seen it stocked maybe twice. However if you're shopping for clothing, home supplies, groceries, or decor then this store will do. Shelves are generally stocked, there are some good staffers you just have to search them out. The toy section is especially good.. they've got some stuff here that isn't at the Riverdale or Parsippany locations. Parking can be a bit treacherous as cars go thru like they are still on the highway.. so just be on alert. There is also a huge flood zone in the parking lot when you exit to rt 46. Another thing to be cautious of if it's raining. Overall this isn't the worst Target around and i stop by often-ish on my way home. but it's definitely not the best.. and I'd recommend driving a little farther to one of the other stores in the area. read more

Target advertising for Black Friday that they have 100 bags that are reserved, and handing the customers numbered tickets, out r numbers were 13 of 100 and 14 of 100, when they got to our numbers they claimed that they ran out of bags and handed us some stupid $10 gift cards after waiting hours in the cold since 3 am by the door. Target had no respect to people of any age nor medical conditions. Target False advised for something doesn't even exist just to drag people to their store and makes bigger sales built on false advertisement. Target brings the price way higher on Black Friday and the rn gives discount that is still higher than the original price before Black Friday. People should chick the prices ahead of time for the product that they want to buy on black Friday , then go on Black Friday and see what target does and how the scam goes. read more

Target - Ticket 13 of 100 that supposed to be 100 bags to be giving to customers. - Department Stores Near Me - Fairfield, New Jersey

Sep 15,2025I was at the Fairfield Target between 12:10-12:25 PM to pick up an order, and it was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. The employees were awful, rude, and condescending. At first, no one was at the counter to help. When employees finally came, David completely ignored me--he acted like I wasn't even speaking to him. Later, when I attempted to return my pickup, Jaime was extremely condescending, insisting I needed the app, only for it to turn out that her scanner wasn't working. Instead of apologizing, she grew frustrated and began throwing items around very rudely. The lack of professionalism and respect was shocking. Target should seriously address the behavior of these employees--no customer should be treated this way. read more

worst place to pay for ...Only 2 cashiers to pay and they were slow as a snail ...not self checkout open neither...incredible

store is messy, kids clothing selection (outside of infant/toddler) is extremely limited, i never find anything i am looking for here. Used to love shopping at target for anything/everything. Now I look for anywhere else I can get what I need since they started allowing ICE to stage operations in their parking lot. read more

The service is awful here. Only 1 cashier was open with a very long line. I waited 30 minutes in line to pay since I had more than 10 items and could not use self service. Workers saw the line and did not call to open more registers. Now I remember why I stopped shopping here. I won't be back. read more

I always think of Target like the Top Tier of department stores with their decent quality of merchandise and pretty solid return policy. Although the work force does have alot to do with the overall experience which differs from store to store. Some locations are pretty solid while others fall way short of the mark, or Target. In particular this Fairfield store finds itself somewhere in-between due to the simple fact that it always seems to be short on both supplies and gainfully engaged Employees. Add to that, long lines and short attention spans and it all culminates into a frustrating shopping situation from beginning to end. Other than that it's great.   If the Target here is 5 stars for customer satisfaction then this location falls 2.5 stars short of this. I'll round it up to 3 stars - cause that's the kinda dude I am. Come And Get Your Fruckstrating Shopping On!! read more

Worst target to shop in ever one register opened just one with about 15 people online and the poor girl ringing everything up by herself said she had no help. I don't understand and I will definitely never go back in there again. It took me 45 minutes to buy three things . It's ridiculous to even have registers with absolutely no one working at them. What is the point? They suck. And forget about calling on the phone nobody answers not even in the human resources department LMFAO read more

Small store with great selection and very well stocked. The parking lot was a challenge, but it is manageable. They had 2 registers open and a bunch of self check out lines. There were two guys in the tech department selling AT&T phones. They were a bit annoying. I've never seen that at a target before. read more

Honestly isn't so bad, little expensive. When I came there was practically no selection. There were also only 3 lanes to checkout. Self checkout was packed. No one was even really there. Honestly, I had a ok "target run" read more

Target - Five units haha - Department Stores Near Me - Fairfield, New Jersey

No one knows where anything is. The store is never fully stocked. It's almost like a consignment store trying to find things. I'll order online and it says that it's available in store but it's not. For the location and size this should not be happening. They have a large over night crew and it seems as though they are more interested in drama vs working. My husband worked here after covid overnight to get the perks but they were attempting to bully him and that doesn't settle well with us especially when it is being noted and no one does anything about it. read more

What the heck happened to this store??? Every time I go in there it looks like a disaster hit. The lines for self checkout and cashier checkout are always at least 6-7 people deep. I do have to give props to my recent visit - the line moved quickly. I was able to check out with a cashier in less than 4 minutes of standing on line. The only time it's not crowded is when I go at 8am. The workers are always helpful and friendly. read more

I shopped at Target in Fairfield NJ. After self checkout a man with an Asset Management vest asked to see my receipt. I felt humiliated and intimidated. I shop at different Target stores all the time and never had this experience. I was not shoplifting and I don't like to be suspected of shoplifting. read more

I just visited the store. Was looking for a specific flavor seltzer water (seems like target is the only one who carries this flavor) Andrew was doing his job filling up the shelves when he asked me if he could help him and I told him what I was looking for. He then went on to his small iPad and looked for the item said there's 2 left moved things around and yes he found it for me ! This may seem like something so small but truly made my day. Andrew thank you again !!!!! read more

They need to open a couple more registers.... The line at the inky register was 18 ppl long.

Nice place too get food drinks and many things pretty cool place to get stuff you need from here

At Kohls you get a discount was so was you put your telephone number. Not target i do not like target read more

I can usually find whatever I need in this store. I am giving them three stars mainly because of the long lines at their express checkout. There are only 4 self check out counters and I think they definitely need to add more since they have very limited cashiers. read more

My favorite Target is in Bridgewater (much larger, bigger selection - especially clothes) This one is ok. I was here for the Missoni fiasco. Was the first one in the door when they opened. Unfortunately, the staff there had never heard of Missoni, so they were not prepared for the hoards of crazy women looking to get their hands on any pieces. Most of the stuff was still in the stockroom & still packed in boxes. read more

Staff is friendly and always willing to help. The new store renno is okay. I'm not sure why the buyers and management think it's okay to push "bulk" size items only? Granola bars, coffee, etc. Sometimes I don't want "24" of something or in these times, can afford it? Biggest complaint? All that money spent on renovations so we -- the consumer, who pays -- your bills, sweat through the shopping and can't keep the store temp reasonable? It's insulting really. It's okay to spend millions to renovate your stores but let's cut the A/C back 5 points -- they'll shop anyway. Eeeehhhh! Wrong. I stopped shopping there in early July. I was tired of leaving the store over heated and uncomfortable and watching pregnant women, men, and many more of us sweat while we shop? Absolutely not. 4 stars because the staff in general have always been great here and I've shopped Target my whole life (east coast, west coast) but if this was a corporate review? 2, maybe 3. read more

I love having a Target so close to home however this location is SO disappointing. It is never stocked with anything- shelves are always bare no matter when I go. They also never have enough cashiers. I don't know if this location can't handle the volume of shoppers or if the shelves are never restocked, but I wish it was better. read more

When it comes to Targets, I feel like this one definitely needs a lot of work. First of all, I feel like the shelves are always lacking. Whether it be food, clothing, or basically anything else, I feel like they are always missing varieties of what I need. The lines are insanity. They never have enough people on register. I've waited up to 30 minutes sometimes on line. They have a starbucks/food court area which is nice. But even they don;t know how to make a good starbucks drink. I come here out of convenience, but if there was a better target closer I would definitely choose that one. read more

Started going to a different Target since this one always has staffing issues at registers. You'll find dozens of employees throughout the store but never an open register that doesn't have 4+ people waiting. Meanwhile staff members will see lines and walk right by. If you have a family with little kids, who can't sit through 20 min of lines, go somewhere else. read more

Buyer beware, often times at this location, the price on the shelf is not the same as the price when you scan it or go to ring it up!

I like this Target, but not as much as the one in Rockaway. Parking lot here is crazy and you're taking your life in your hands if you aren't paying attention - especially around Christmas. I stopped in here last week to do some last minute school shopping and it seems as if you get here in the morning, before the craziness begins, you can have a pleasant shopping experience. Once the place starts filling up, or if you got a late start, just wait until the madness subsides. They never seem to have enough cashiers working. This Target is way out of the way for me, so I'm not a frequent shopper, but if I'm in the area it'll do... read more

this target is in desperate need of employees . It gets busy and there's only one human cashier . then it's probably 5 self checkouts with no one monitoring so lots of line cutting and confusion. The overall lack of staff is concerning, i want to shop at Target not work there too and check out my items . Maybe we should be paid a salary for all the work customers do? read more

It is very hard to go wrong at any Target. It remains the unexplainable money vortex that somehow fills your cart when you only went in to get some light bulbs and an extension cord. Next thing you know, you have a new set of towels, your kids have some new toys and at this particular Target, you end up with half of your supermarket shopping done. Your attempt to spend $7.23 always turns into a minimum of $75, but at least your cart is full. This Target has ample parking, is clean and orderly and has a solid selection of your typical Target fare. As mentioned, this one also has what amounts to 3/4 of a supermarket which makes the lure of one-stop shopping here even greater. Just try to prove me wrong, it's like Pringles - you can't get just one thing, no one can and this phenomenon is no different at the Fairfield, NJ Target. read more

Does ANYONE clean or stock this store?! They have been out of the one type of frozen vegetables that I get for MONTHS, normally not a big deal but target is the only store that carries it. Corporate really needs to visit this location and figure out how to fix the problem here. read more

Out of all the Targets in the area, this one probably has the best selection. This store is almost always clean, and the check it out is pretty quick. It is in a beautiful location, and has great parking. I do have one gripe though. In the past, I have had serious issues with the customer service desk. They were rude, unhelpful, and nasty. I complained and no one cared. This was like 5 years ago, so maybe things have gotten better. However, I haven't had to return anything since then so I couldn't say .... read more

Target - Magazine - Department Stores Near Me - Fairfield, New Jersey

... again?? I have avoided this location for a long time because the last experience was so terrible. I went in just for a simple bottle of Heinz chili sauce. ... pretty simple, right? Nope. Not only were they out of Heinz chili sauce, they had no chili sauce of any brand, only a couple bottles of ketchup, and barren shelves everywhere I looked. Without exaggeration, I tell you that it was so barren on all of the shelves that I actually asked a red shirt employee if this location was closing. Potato chip shelves were empty. End cap displays were empty. Entire cold cases were empty. 2 or 3 items left on shelves all around. Cereal shelves were empty. Spice shelves were empty. The giant wall rack with water bottles was almost empty. Push racks were empty. The few items that were left on many shelves were knocked over and left that way. Clothing display mannequins had no product on the tables beneath them to sell. Shampoo bottle racks were empty. Kitchen cleaning supplies shelves were almost empty ... And to top it off, the Starbucks location in that store was closing early because they were short staffed. It was one o'clock in the afternoon. I asked an employee who the regional manager was so I can contact them. He did a page to the manager with that question, and the manager never ever came over to me. Obviously, they did not want me to have that information. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever for a store of this caliber to be this picked over and poorly managed. This falls on the shoulders of the management and the people who are responsible for inventory. It honestly looked like Black Friday in there. I said that in my last review, but that's exactly what it still looks like. Terrible, terrible, terrible. read more

I love this store, but I have to say, remodeling it is making it difficult for me to figure out which way I'm going half the time, so I hope they can pick a layout soon and stick to it. I'm very excited for the Ulta, since now there's gonna be an even wider makeup selection. My biggest problem is the long wait lines and the Guest Service counter. Everytime I go there's a long wait, and I have seen way too many GS employees standing around and talking when they should be working. I even witnessed one talking loudly with their companion (presumably about a customer, or perhaps another employee) instead of tending to the people standing within earshot waiting to check out. Other than that, the customer service is excellent. I do feel for the red-shirts pushing massive carts around, though. It looks like it can get exhausting. read more

I went there because Target.com showed they were the closest store that had a chair I wanted in stock. Not only did they not have the chair but the store was a total disaster!
