I wanted to leave this comment to let you know that an elderly gentleman arrived early at the mall and needed to sit down. I thought it was very poor service that one of the people working at the mall told him he couldn't come in to sit because there were 10 minutes left before opening. I feel this is not good customer service, since he was simply an older man who just wanted to sit down, and they didn't allow him to enter. read more

Recent trip to the store to return a gift of "Bloomingdale's" exclusive pajamas for a different size and I was told I couldn't be helped but "Ruby" in the intimates department. And then as if I hadn't learned from the terrible customer service experience I did attempt to purchase a pair of sunglasses. When I requested a price check I was told to speak with a manager because they were marked for "Pennie's". Meaning they were extreme my discounted. I was then told by a manager in the jewelry area if I really loved the. I could purchase them for full price. I can't be the only one who has experienced this terrible customer service! read more

Terrible, terrible experience Next day delivery order wasn't delivered. No updates from Bloomingdales. I had to call repeatedly and they refused to cancel my order. They were items I needed today. They literally said it takes 48 hours to process a same day delivery... what?! Charged me $20 for next day delivery. Would not cancel my order. Said I would have to return it myself. So beware of same or next day orders from Bloomingdales. Apparently they'll just deliver it whenever they want and you can't cancel it if they don't deliver on the day it was scheduled. I'm always a fan of a nice department store versus going to a mall. That being said, I seldom shop Bloomingdale's - no real reason, it's just not one of my go-to retailers for shopping. I do however have memories of coming here as a child when they used to have a lot of different activities for kids around the holidays. While that's become a pastime, my dad still likes to stop here at least once during the holidays to pick up some gifts for my mother. I met my dad here after work the other night and we decided to do some browsing. While I've never been to their flagship store in Manhattan, I can say with confidence this Bloomys is quite large - four levels of retail with a really large selection. I was pretty impressed with their men's section in particular - while it's only one section of one floor like most dept stores they had a really nice variety that is superior to other stores I've been to. Sales people are always friendly which is always a plus. Overall, I'm a fan of Bloomy's - it's not cheap, but in terms of selection and service they come through. read more

I was in need of a watch, and figured that Bloomingdale's has a lot to offer in terms of variety, quality and service. Watch selections vary in price scale here. Immediately noticed what I wanted, but it was too big and didn't want it to dangle on me. Here comes Linda to the rescue. Put on the watch and answered all my questions as I tried to find a perfect fit. Linda sized my watch for me. Service was incredible, as it should! She was in fact, a total sweetheart and gave me the utmost in high performance service. From cruising down the isles, sales staff, are extremely courteous delivering their legendary service. Make up counters are all around as you go in. What I also like about this location, is their customer service. It exceeds anything that I've experienced. Shopping at Bloomingdale's may not be everybody's bag of chips, but to me it is. I definitely like the luxury experience I encountered here in White Plains without heading to the city. And it's definitely, a breath of fresh air. read more

The Sales associate Carmel, was very sweet and knowledgeable in the scents. Definitely visit her if your in need of some really good perfume/cologne. read more

Trying to get someone in-store on the phone to ask a question or check on an order is stressful because you never know if someone will pick up the phone. I have to call the customer service number and them speak to someone who is possibly in a different country and the person I spoke to talked over me, rushed through the explaination and went on long speeches where I couldnt find a break to ask a question. Bloomingdales will probably go out of business within the next decade because the service is so poor. if you find an employee that actually is trained well and wants to help its rare. i wish the company would keep all customer service US based and pay fair wages instead of exploting workers in a different country and not caring. the company doesnt care and rhe employees don't care so its a sinking ship. read more

I haven't seen this many people wearing black since I went to an Italian funeral. I know what I want and head to the proper department and the nice, overly made up employee, helps me and shows me what I came for. After overpaying for a bag, I get further insulted by having to pay $10 to get it wrapped. Beautiful store but frankly my life style no longer calls for clothes like this. Maybe one day, I will need to shop here (fingers crossed). AND, like another reviewer said, trying to reach someone on the phone is an exercise in futility. read more

Lena and Muse is the children's department are lovely. They are very helpful and went above and beyond. Lena helped me find a gift for my niece and she wrapped it so nicely in a Bloomingdales box! Thank you for exceeding my expectations, I love shopping in their department. Their department is so cute, I love the clothing they have, wish they had more shoes! There's a lot of Uggs and Hunter boots but not many dressy shoes for girls. They updated the music to 70s-90s rap/ hip-hop music, its not for everyone but I love it. The mothers day decorations look gorgeous and they've added more and more purses in the handbag department. The store is definitely upgrading. The workers in the woman department are hit or miss, some or very nice and some are just rude and aggressive. read more

I was blown away the professional knowledge and support from the kids Ralph lauren polo specialist 'Queen' Because of her we were able to get last minute items. This branch is looking a bit worn out in my opinion, but they do have some nice things. The men's department is solid, and you can't beat their fragrance selection. Top notch stuff, but still as pricy as ever. We spent most of our visit checking out the furniture department specifically and it was an OK experience. There's plenty to see, the salespeople were quite nice, and they didn't bother us too much as we browsed. I have to say though, their furniture is looking rather generic these days. It seems to be the same Made in China crap being sold in Macy's, Crate and Barrel, and just about every other major store out there. Bloomingdale's used to have some pretty great stuff for the home. But with this lower level of quality, their furniture no longer warrants consideration in my opinion. read more

Awful customer service and inept workers. Called to get a tabelcloth for my boss. I was transferred to 6 different people. All had a hard time understanding I needed a 9x5 or 10x6 white plain cloth. They literally couldnt do the math themselves, 60 inch by 108 inch. They transferred me 6 times and acted like they had no clue what I was talking about. One of the girls was like you got housewares you need domestics. Umm ok, so let's be clear, how is that my issue when I was transferred to you? It's a sad state our country is in. No one does their job anymore, people wont work, refuse to, those that do are not trained, or half ass, give attitude to high paying customers, and act inconvenienced for doing their jobs. Bloomingdale's you will go out of business if you continue to hire people and employ people like this. FYI this tablecloth had no budget, but they kept asking what price point. The customer service in the jewelry department is horrible. I spent a lot of money on a watch I purchased there and went back to get it sized. I was ignored by the only woman that was able to do the sizing. I was standing right in front of her for 20 minutes without any contact or acknowledgment. I finally asked how much longer she will need and she proceeded to ignore me and finally responds that she's busy. She was extremely rude. For a high end store I think they should do better with their servicing. It was disgusting behavior. I recommend you shop elsewhere. read more

I have visited this shop a few times. The service is poor. The problem is twofold. One, they are understaffed by about 50%. Two, the staff they do have are a mixed bag. I have had decent experiences but more terrible ones. Staff tend to combine being snobby with cultivating an air of busyness when they are not busy. In a Target this would be bad. When I'm trying to pay $280 for a shirt unforgivable. I also think they give worse service when you are a minority as my wife has had even worse service than me. Furthermore, check the merchandise carefully. I have had to return store soiled items. Once I bought two lamps and in closer inspection one shade was damaged and this was never repaired. The store is also run down in terms of cleaning level but also decor from 1993. Finally they have very limited size selection in clothes. In positives there is ample free parking, good for white plains. Also, if you do complain the management handle it ok. In general I'm not sure how much longer this store will be around though. It has an air of moribundality. read more

Yuck. The buyer/merchandiser for this Bloomies is appealing to the cheesey suburban housewife that has no clue what it is to be chic and sexy. The racks are always messy the sales staff is rude and clueless and it smells bad. I only go here to return a gift or to get a gift from a registry. Horrible experience, Iv been here a few times and the meal has always been average at best but a convenient spot. Today there was a bug cooked into my meal. Not only was the meal not comped but they didn't even have the decency to send over a manager or chef to apologize. Hey - literally only writing as a heads up to anyone going to return anything. They're massive jerks about this here and you will need original credit card + gift receipt AND original receipt (what?). They keep claiming policy but if I had just mailed my return in, none of this would be required. I was turned away the first time being told I need my original credit card the purchase was made, confirmed that was all that was necessary, and then when I returned with the card, the same lady told me I needed the original receipt and not the gift receipt... so... what's the point of the gift receipt? I'm going back a third time out of principle but man they really don't want to give you back your own money. Used to be a Loyalist but definitely turned off to the whole shopping experience here. Better selection and better service elsewhere. read more

Service here is truly a crap shoot. I've had great experiences in the hosiery department and intimates department. But that's IT. Both employees who helped me were with the company for over 20 years. Although the first Salesperson I encountered with a shapewear question in intimates, looked at me all frazzled, shook her hands in the air and barely spoke a coherent sentence when I said "excuse me." She did the same when another woman after me approached her as well. It didn't look to me like she was busy at all, but I can tell you SHE genuinely thought she was. Afterall, I'm pretty sure she was hanging a garment and chewing gum at the same time. The woman who finally helped me admitted she wasn't great with shapewear, but was eager to help. Shoes...FORGET IT. Totally understaffed and the people who ARE there have absolutely NO interest in helping you. The only way to get a size is to stand directly outside the shoe room and wait for someone to come out. Then they CAN'T ignore you. I refuse to try anything on IN the store, due to a sign posted in the fitting room telling me that for my protection, the fitting room is under video surveillance by a female attendant. SO...for my protection, I try everything on at home and return unwanted items. They have an easy return policy, which makes this possible. read more

This place is a disaster. It's dirty - actually dirty - and the associates are inept. We went to buy shoes during the friends and family sale and found the department littered in shoes, discarded socks, etc. No one could be bothered to help us until we went up to the counter and then the woman kept wandering off to help other customers when we asked for a different size. Then when we went to pay it was an absolute nightmare - they couldn't figure out how to use a visa gift card and when we used a regular debit card, it triggered a fraud warning at the bank. I don't know what is going on but this is the worst Bloomingdales I've ever been to and unless they get it together, I won't be back. Go to the nearby Nordstrom or Neimans instead. read more

This location is possibly once of the worst "high end" department stores I've been to. Nothing is ever in stock and there's never any sort of help if you're looking to buy something. Apparently the customer is just there to browse. It's the lack of products though that leaves me dumbfounded. I mean isn't Bloomingdale's supposed to carry quality merchandise? I see a few Kate Spade bags and some MK. I never see anything I actually want. What happened to all of the quality stuff that I could probably only supposedly find here? Not my first (or my last shopping visit to BMDL). Things changed here, and I am afraid that not for the best. They used to be a lot more positive with their attitude towards the customers (I wonder if someone cut their pay check ...). The store itself is almost the same, and this is something I love, but they need to do something about the staff. They are there but I am not sure they are happy to be there. I've been shopping here for YEARS! Fell in love with the Bloomies nightshirts 25 years ago and have been buying them ever since. On a recent trip I went in and something had drastically changed. No longer did I find the helpful, funny, and engaging staff that used to work at this quirky store, rather, just a bunch of clerks who could have cared less what I needed. I can remember almost every personality I've met there over the years and why they remained in my memory. Bloomies has lost that individuality that I grew to love so much. So I shop at Bloomingdales ALL the time, a few weeks ago I was shopping for my daughters in the kids department because they have a great selection and is also so nice and organized. On this particular day there was an older black woman who I recognized from the woman's shoe department, her name is Phyllis and is always extremely rude I hate interacting with her. All the girls in the kids departments are super sweet and helpful so when I saw this woman SCREAMING at one of these young girls I was appalled. She scared my daughters and I was also scared because I didn't know if she was going to start being physical. All I heard her yell was "do you have a problem" in a real ghetto like tone, theres no need to act like that especially at a department store like Bloomingdales. I have had problems with Phyllis before so I know she's very self-centered I wish they would just get rid of her. Anyway after she left I saw other customers walk up to this young lady and ask if she was okay, her name is Lena or Lina and she is very sweet and has helped me before. I asked if she was okay as well and not to let someone so unprofessional get to her like that. No one deserves to be treated with such hostility. @Bloomingdales you really need to evaluate this Phyllis woman, she obviously has some personal issues to get over. read more

Update: The Bloomingdale's Twitter account told me that someone from this store location would be contacting me (not sure why it wouldn't be someone from corporate) and they haven't. I guess this is why God created lawyers. My wife and I arrived at Bloomingdale's at 8pm on Friday January 19th. As we walked into the women's shoe department we noticed that the sales clerk was preoccupied with trying not to make eye contact. My wife then picked the shoes she wanted to try on. The sales clerk then walked away and made sure that she was unavailable although we were the only customer in the section. My wife decided to try on the displays and the sales clerk yelled across the floor to her associate that she was closing her register even though it was 8:15pm. To help, my wife then put back the shoes that she wasn't purchasing on the racks and brought the 3 pairs that she was buying to the register. At that point the sales clerk snatched the shoes while complaining and only returned with one pair. She then slammed the one pair down and yelled that she's going home. After she left her associate would only ring up the 1 pair and when my wife asked for the prices he turned his back, sucked his teeth, and slammed the shoes down. At that point I had it, left the premises, and returned to a car with a flat tire. I don't know what we're supposed to think as an African American couple being serviced by Caucasian salespeople who act this way in this political climate. read more

Never ever ever order furniture from Bloomingdales. I have had the worse consumer experience of my life buying furniture from Bloomingdales. What happened was inexcusable but their lack of concern and responsiveness made it all the more awful. In mid-November - year nearly 5 months ago - I ordered two chairs and an ottoman. A custom order. 4 weeks ago I called for an update. I was told "it is in the warehouse and you'll get a call in 2-3 days to schedule delivery". Suffice to say that no one ever called. I had to call back three times and finally was told that one chair and one ottoman was ready and in the warehouse but they had no idea where the other chair was. I chose to take delivery of the one chair and ottoman yesterday. I just called again for a status update on the missing chair and was told "It can take 10-14 days to get an answer from the special orders team" - 10 to 14 days!!!! After I have been calling on this particular item for 4 weeks? When I said that was unacceptable I was told "well you're already 10 days into the inquiry so you should hear back in a few days. I'm sorry but I don't have any other information." Really? I am beyond furious and there is no circumstance under which I would ever buy furniture from Bloomingdales again and I urge none of you to do so. read more

This Bloomingdale's is fantastic. It's obviously not as large as the one in Manhattan, but they have just enough that it's not overwhelming when trying to navigate through. I also like that parking is free here! First of all, the make up counters here are SUPER friendly and willing to help match your skin color, chat about makeup, or help you find the right item. I find that really important because a lot of times women are intimidated by counters (especially in high end stores) when they are really there to help you! The shoe department could be a little bigger, however they have a good range of mid-luxury to high end brands. The women's section could be more organized at times, however it is a large floor and there are many different brands there. Also, their MENS section is very impressive! Large fragrance selection, lots and lots of accessories, and plenty of staff to help you pick the right presents (because rarely are men even found in the mens section here...). On the top floor is a restaurant! (Who knew?) Great for coffee or mimosas to take the "stress" off of those hard shopping days. It's also newly redecorated and looks very modern and clean. read more

She pointed me to where there were some polo shirts on sale for dogs and I wound up buying some for Pitzie and Cheppie. Now when we go out for a walk we can look like triplets! The worst experience I've ever had in a Bloomingdale's. Tried calling before showing up to return an item purchased in another Bloomingdale's-no answer for around 30min. Blatantly ignored by multiple associates upon arrival. Given an awful attitude by the two I asked for help. It was pretty disappointing, and frustrating enough for me to throw an attitude right back at them. Finally went to a register where someone would assist and she was so rude I nearly lost it. I will never return to this store. They should be ashamed of themselves. read more

My go to and best store for shopping for the holidays! I can always find my moms and gf's favorite perfumes, handbags, clothing and shoes, upscale and under one roof!
