Generally, I really like this location. The store is spacious and pretty well maintained. They used to have a huge selection of handbags and shoes but those sections are a lot sparser nowadays. For bags, they have a few genuine leather, high end name brand offerings sprinkled in but most of the purses are low price. They have a large housewares section including a great candle aisle. Lots of variety and deals in skincare. Also several aisles with clearance selections. Sometimes the checkout line moves a bit slowly, but otherwise always a good choice if you're up for a bargain hunt. read more

Back at the Maxx... the holiday shopping lines are a bit long, but, hey, that is to be expected!! And, what's to complain about when they have such a friendly staff--it definitely makes up for any discomfort. This trip around, I was back in the home goods areas. I wish they had more rugs, but they do have plenty other good stuff like fancy dish soaps, fancy bath washes, cool bowl, etc. etc. I saw a lot of great throw pillows, but that wasn't in my budget today... but next time for sure! read more

I like shopping at TJ Maxx. I almost don't mind it's tight. But factor in the push carts- it becomes a pain in the neck trying to navigate the narrow aisles. Because TJ is so closed to home, this is one of my first stops if I want to spruce up my closet a bit with some of their funky pieces. You get it all here. I love coming here. I like how sections are placed and really TJ makes it easy, to get from point A to point B with no hassle. Just follow the large overhead signs. Floor staff are always on the go- tending to the racks and replenishing shelves. If you're stuck on something and need help- stop them and ask. TJ Maxx has a pretty good selection on clothing, thumbs down for shoes. Never seem to have enough size 10s and quality many times is not good. Home decor though, has rustic and unique accent furniture and accessories. By the way, TJ has a nice mix of quality leather bags. read more

I like this TJ Maxx,however, on the weekends, it's insane! There were a group of seven women holding a meeting in the back corner by the girls department. Their children were running around like lunatics. They were opening the games in the toy department pulling all the parts out and just leaving them in the main aisles. Nobody did anything. It was completely dangerous for any customer, so when I got to the register, I told the cashier. I said, "there are a group of women in the back not watching their children and the kids are opening up all the games and throwing all the pieces on the floor in the aisle." Her response was, "I think there's someone working back there, but they get mad if you say something to them, so you can only say something to them so many times. " I was horrified! I said, "well I'm annoyed having to roll my cart around all this garbage that's thrown in the aisle that these kids are throwing! With all the stores closing, you should be aware of what's going on in your store. You need to post a sign "do not open toys". You shouldn't be afraid to yell at the customer whose children are destroying your merchandise. Who's going to buy that? She seem to know who I was talking about! Totally unacceptable TJ Maxx! Get your act together! Don't allow people to destroy your merchandise! You'll just be another store that closes. The disrespect for the merchandise is disgusting. Someone needs to say something. Usually find some good items but this store is dirty and not well maintained. The wall hooks in the big women's dressing room have been ripped out for over 2 years, with gaping holes. Dust bunnies everywhere. Staff on the floor are rude and unfriendly. Cashiers and store manager are actually nice. Every other TJM I have ever been in is clean, more organized and friendly. If you can find something clean or undamaged, then sometimes TJ Maxx can be a decent place. All else is the pits. If you've been to one TJ Maxx, you've been to them all. Terrible staff, sloppy areas, lack of organization, damaged/dirty stock.....you get the picture. They need to make "patience" in a liquid form just so you can take a shot of it before you come into these stores. This location is no different than any of their others - and that's not being complimentary. TJ Maxx always has the appearance of a good will store and indoor flea market put into a blender. For some, they like it and that's fine - but it's not exactly good business. They only survive because of their pricing of some items. A lot of times, items are damaged, ripped, dirty, or even stolen, so always use caution when buying anything from here. Just today, I saw loose items that would normally be in packages, some ripped packages (thefted) and just general slop. The employees are terrible here, from their obvious lack of work ethic to their attitudes generally. The customers are also problematic here - you get the typical slobs that come in here, but some are just rude. In a way, it kind of fits together......rude customers come to a slob pit. If you come here for some of the decent deals, then that's all good. Sometimes you can find decent items for a good price. The parking lot is garbage. Poorly designed and annoyingly busy. The whole stretch of parking lots is connected in the shopping area, but this strip is probably the worst. It shares the space with McDonald's, Carvel, a phone place, and a bank. If you drive in here, use caution. All in all, when you look past the decent pricing of some (undamaged) items, it's really nothing great and almost like a chore coming in here. read more

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this tj maxx. Best customer service, Best experience, so clean. The lines are long but that is to be expected for a store thats always stocked and pushing new inventory almost everyday!!!! With how neatly organized the shelves are, I always have a blast waiting on line. I do end up spending more than I wanted to but once you see it, you gotta have it. The coordinators are very helpful and professional. Cashiers are great and quick. Managers are very friendly and understanding. Staff on the floor are the most hardworking people ever!! Fitting room is always cleaned. The only negative thing about this place is the karens coming into the store looking for a problem to argue about. Poor workers have to deal with the most difficult karens and Bobs ever. Like whatttt you mean you never seen a tjmaxx with a line??? Where the hell do you shop??? I typically like TJ Maxx, and this one is just as good as every other branch. It just happens to be in a particularly gritty shopping center with some questionable characters lurking around the parking lot and entrance (at least when I was there). Not a problem for most people I'm sure, but I wouldn't advise my Mom or young family members to check it out solo. read more

Utterly fruitless hunting grounds. Wound up here from a GPS search for TJ Maxx in Westchester as apparently this is the sole location in the County (?). As the first reviewer noted, this is indeed a "gritty shopping center". Small, unkempt space. Sloppily hung apparel. Extremely poor selection of women's clothing (quality, style, and size wise). I couldn't find a single pair of pants in a waist size less than 30 inches and no XS/S tops. Lots of missing buttons; snagged knits; bikini bathing suits missing their bottoms, etc. Also, unlike the TJ Maxx locations in NYC, this one offers no "Purple Tag"/luxury brand items--no Theory, no Helmut Lang, no Joie, no Seven jeans. The absolute dregs of hand bags/accessories. Not even a tasteless three season's stale stained Coach key fob could be found (and I searched). The beauty section is also sad: no Shiseido or Clarins --not even the token capless cuticle oil from Elizabeth Arden's increasingly low-quality brand. Too many people in the store today. It said 140 but there was no one checking on my way in and there were more people than that for sure. Also , they allowed people in who were wearing just buffs and one guy with a mesh mask. Manager was advised about both these issues but she told me I was the only one complaining and they cannot force people to wear the proper mask.... I would think they would want to keep customers and their staff safe so I was surprised to hear that answer.... This is a poor reflection on management. read more

I seem to get there when there is only one or two cashiers, but it moves along in a timely fashion. One of the best stores in white plains! This store is recommended to go in without having any outfit in particular and taking a great amount of things to the fitting rooms and walking out with 2 outfits. When I drive along central ave always drive by but never went in until now.Place is a decent size,but Lord what a mess,stuff all over the place.Don't blame the workers who are just trying to do their job, it's the slob lazy customers who are (don't give a crap)to blame. If you look around you can find some decent deals. Very disorganized, messy and it smells terrible. No body helps you. The jewelry counter people are so arrogant. Through the years this place has gone right down the hill. LINES ENDLESS, have walked out multiple times secondary to long lines. When will retailers learn that long lines mean losing customers?

I love TJ Maxx. I have shopped at TJ's around the country and usually have wonderful things to say about my experiences! I visited this store on a Saturday, I knew what I was getting into before arriving (weekend shoppers) but I had to be in the area and figured I'd reward myself with a little shopping therapy. Honestly, the other shoppers were great, I chatted with lots of friendly people. The majority of the staff I encountered was fine, friendly and helpful. The store was surprisingly clean considering it was a Saturday evening. I was thrilled to find a few great items, including a suitcase, and made my way to the very long line. I was shocked at how quick and efficient the line was..so why give a 1-star review? My cashier was a jerk. I had ordered a few things online and when they arrived they were NOT what I had ordered (ex: leopard print pants that were supposed to be black). Customer Service told me I could mail them back or return to any store, since I knew I was going to the store I opted to return in store. My cashier acted as though I was some sort of criminal from the second I said "return". First she told me I couldn't return online purchases in store, when I told her I had done so many times (I have) she glared at me and asked a fellow staff member for help. Fellow staff member agreed that I can indeed return in store and showed my cashier what to do. Fine, should have been the end of it. Nope. She insisted that I could not return my purchase to the payment used and that she had to issue a gift card, it was weird but I was buying more than the return amount and agreed to this with a smile (kill mean people with kindness, right?). WELL come time to buy my new items and she starts complaining about my using the gift card she JUST issued me and tries telling me I have to use a different form of payment. Nope. I insist on using the gift card. She calls someone over to help her because she didn't know how to charge me using said gift card. I get that she might have been new, or forgetful, I've worked retail, it can be a stressful mess, but I was friendly and patient and she treated me like scum for daring to do a return of online merchandise. The worst part was that other staff members saw how she was acting, rolled their eyes at each other, pulled her aside to show her what to do, yet not one apologized to me for what ended up being a 25 minute ordeal. I thanked her when she finally handed me my receipt, and she grunted at me! Bottom line, I LOVE TJ Maxx, just not this location. I will not be returning to this specific location based off the miserable cashier and the way she spoke to me and treated me. There's a great Marshalls down the street! I am here to report all the supervisors working at that store, obviously it's a matter of selecting whose customer deserve a good Treatement and who just should get ignored and I want to applaud the store manager for following me outside the store to bring me the money back for the item and to apologize for what had happened , I do wish a necessary action happens to the supervisors at TJ Maxx Hartsdale specially a rude white lady and a the rude Spanish looking supervisors ! I went today to return a pan, that I had purchased from tj Maxx two weeks ago, the pan was clearly defective, the minute I use it , it turned black! So I decided to return it, I kept everything on, including the recite , the tags and everything. I went inside waited for half an hour behind a client in customer service , who argued to return an item that is more than 90 days old, and one of the supervisors agree, and saw me standing on the line, when it was my turn , he stepped in right away and started yelling that am not on line, I explained to him that I didn't know that there's only one line for return and purchases, plus he had seen me for the past half an hour standing why he didn't say anything but he just pointed to the sign! So I went to shop for another pan to exchange it with, only to make things worse , they refuse to return it to me telling me it's two weeks old!!! And it's used!! I explained to them that it is a defective item , and the reason why I didn't return before two weeks is because I have three kids under the age of 8! Then one of the supervisors accused me that I didn't clean it , although I continuously explained to her that that's how the item looks like? I know how to clean very well! and the supervisor (Spanish looking guy, thin hair, mid 40's same one arguing about the line) stepped in out of no where just to say this is used!! They have no respect to the amount of time customers spends between waiting and wAiting ,or the way they address the customer issues or treat the customer right! Obviously a women with 90 days old pant is ok to return an item, but they are not okay to return a defective item that is 2 weeks old! I told them that I don't even need that pan or the refund and they can keep my money ! I was so frustrated this all happened in the presence of my three kids! So even a little respect for them being next to me didn't exist! What a corrupted place! ok I went to this store to buy a dress for a wedding and I couldn't find any one on the sales floor to help me find a dress that i saw on their website, the only person that helped me was the fitting room associate, she was very kind and sweet she wore a colorful turban and a beautiful corset, but she was the ONLY one to really help find what i was looking for after i tried on many dresses the only reason I gave this store stars was because of her i felt very happy with my purchase other than that the store is a complete messy and i really was taking back when i saw the manager who was a African American male screamed and curse at one of the employees for coming late i thought that was uncalled for and very rude to the customers, i don't understand Why HE himself didn't help out after seeing the line become crowded instead he just sat on the top of the counter doing NOTHING, I am a manager myself and i always help my employee i never sit down if they needed my help, read more
