One of the more cleaner dim sum restaurants I've been to. The interior is very nice and the servers are friendly. As for the food, it is definitely on the pricier side. All the dishes tasted fresh and apparently everything is steamed to order. I thought the siu mai was good, but the black truffle on top is unnecessary. We ordered the famed lobster noodles for only 10.99, and it was pretty tasty and a generous portion. My favorite dishes were the tofu skin wrapped with meat and the beef rice noodle roll (cheung fun). Chill vibes, great for family gathering, and hosting events! Came during a weekday night and was seated right away. Reserve ahead for private rooms. Service was great and very respectful. Started us with tea, water, and beverage right away. Always clearing out our old plates and checking up on us every few minutes. Server makes small jokes and kept the vibe going. Exceptional, , the best my mom and i have ever eaten..she's from Hong Kong so we know our dim sum.. We loved loved the following: Tofu wraps aka seen jook geen...hot to table, beautfully rolled, fresh ingredients...beef and choy sum veggie pan fried noodle. wow, this is a perfect dish...feast for the eyes ...plated beautfully, amazing subtle sauce, crispy noodle that take up the sauce...outstanding. We had a small 25- person banquet room to ourselves...a wall to wall virtual fish tank, and a wall mural of a Chinese mountain seen...so relaxing yet upscale yet cozy...the main dining room is large...and.. they have pillars projecting the virtual fish tank so tables nearby get this Zen experience too. There is even a prvate all-gender bathroom for our small banquet room. What? How crazy is that?!??!! The service is friendly, tho we did have to flag down a server to place our order sheet...and to flag down someone to give us the check...but they are still getting the hang of things.. we are here within their grand opening...new management new restaurant. BUT...I would dock a star for what I learned once I actually studied the menu once I got home.. Cons: We were seated in that small banquet room for an extra charge...we were not aware that being seated in a small side room cost more... the large dining room is cheaper. It's not a lot of money, but I would have appreciated an option or being informed...tho I admit I enjoyed having a private room to just my mom and me. Despite this... Highly recommend. Horrible service and mediocre food! When we first walked into the restaurant, the waiter at the reception area did not even look up to acknowledge our presence as we stood in right front of him. That was the first sign of how service would be for the rest of the evening. After we were seated and were ready to place our order, we sat waving our hands and trying to make eye contact with any wait staff. They made no attempt to come anywhere near us. Finally, we caught a waiter's eye after furiously waving our hands in the air. When they brought out our dishes, we noticed the dishes were room temperature and not hot. We spent more time trying to wave down a waiter because they forgot to bring the rice we had ordered. After we finished eating and asked for the check, we noticed that the Hispanic waitress served dessert to all the tables around us, but conveniently forgot about us when we were done. We asked her about it, and she said she would bring it, but went into the kitchen and disappeared and never returned back. We asked another waiter, and she explained they were out. Yet, they didn't have the decency to inform us, so we were not left waiting for them. At that point, we were fed up and left. Looking back, we tipped them more than they deserved. This restaurant establishment has subpar food and especially bad customer service. First, and last time, coming here. Asian restaurants generally aren't very good with customer service, but this joint easily takes that to an even worse level. read more

This restaurant is already one of my favorite dim sum places! The shu mai, shrimp rice noodle, and bean curd skin wrap dishes as well as the egg yolk bun here were all great quality, were all very good flavor-wise, and all tasted on par with the dim sum from some of the best dim sum restaurants in the San Gabriel Valley. I also had their Beef and Chinese Broccoli Chow Fun which tasted clean, tasted flavorful, and really captured what a staple Cantonese chow fun dish should taste like. The inside of the restaurant also looks awesome. The combination of the excellent food and the great-looking interior design of this restaurant definitely makes this a top-notch restaurant. Dim Sum holds a special close place to my heart because my family would eat that quite a lot on the weekends when I was growing up. It's a great meal to share with loved ones and just chitchat. With all the many dim sum places in the sgv, this place didn't do much for me to stand out. Service was beyond horrible, I tend to be very lenient when it comes to Asian places on service because we all know the stigma with that but this place didn't even check on us. They never came to greet us and see how we were doing, they didn't come to get our order, we had to flag 3 different people down. The food was mediocre, nothing stood out to me except the chow fun. Honestly I'm just excited to see the renovation finally being done. The restaurant serves dimsum during the day and is Cantonese, but it has Guangdong vibes. The decorations and dimsum dishes are more China than HK style. I think everything had potential. It's still very new. One complaint is every dish came out not hot enough. Some were lukewarm and some were warm. But... I really enjoyed the soufflé and will stick to the more unique items you can't get at other dimsum restaurants. The lobster dumplings and lobster congee look very promising. It takes 30 mins so I'll have to come back to try. Overall, I liked the variety available. Will come back once some time passes and they get used to how to run things. Staff were very nice, but if you're not here at 10am don't bother. Lines can go up to 45 mins. read more

Yes! It's a wonderful spiritual successor to East Gourmet! The dim sum is good. Favorite was the siu mai and baked cha siu bao. Their bao is really unique because it has that lovely sweet crust that's found on bo lo baos! Very generous sizes and filling. Grandma and mom approved of the feng jiao. Wasn't a fan of the nai wong bo lo bao; the custard was mo may oh (had no flavor) and I didn't like the pieces of pineapple inside. Despite pineapple being in the name, it's referring to the crust on top of the bao looking like pineapple skin. It doesn't usually come with the fruit inside. The chive and shrimp dumplings were good and so was the nor mai guy (Chinese tamale). The guk bo cha (chrysanthemum and puer tea) was solid too. Swift service when taking our orders, getting our food and taking away empty plates. The one issue is that we got multiple orders that were wrong. They brought us too many of the chive dumplings, tried to give us steamed vs baked bao and I think brought another dish we didn't order. So be vigilant. However, when we told them about the mistakes, they quickly corrected them. They just opened 2 weeks ago, I'm sure it's just growing pains. Beautiful renovations, nice mix of traditional and western architecture. Really like that the private rooms have glass partitions, keeps the space looking big and open, but still private. Really cool fish tank screens on the pillars and in the private rooms. The new bathrooms are nice too. Good that the staff gets the old ones to themselves. Overall, excellent dim sum place. Came here on a Monday afternoon around 1:30PM, pretty full (it was July 3 so maybe because some people had the day off). Was given a table in a room that smelled heavily of cigarette smoke so asked to not be there, got seated at a huge table instead (table usually for 8, we had 4). Ordered some standard items: - steamed shrimp dumplings (har gow): chewy outside, shrimp didn't taste super fresh but it was fine - radish cake: wasn't hot, didn't have a ton of radish in it but acceptable - salty dumplings: skin was super thick, inside meat was flavorful, lukewarm - tripe: chewy, could've done with more flavor, was surprised that there were full mini carrots at the bottom - BBQ pork puff pastry: puff pastry was an interesting choice, could've had more BBQ pork inside - steamed bean curd: this was probably my favorite, soft bean curd outside although the meat inside was a bit hard. Bill came out to be around $53 pre-tax, $2/person for tea as well. All flavors could've been more, quality was fine. I don't know what the dim sum scene is around this area, but I'd probably try some other spots before coming back to this one (wouldn't be opposed to returning though) read more

People are waiting in line from the right side door but other customers just walk in in the left side door and cut everyone waiting. It was a thursday around 11:30am. I was disappointed because they didn't have the ladies walking around with a cart. That is what feels so authentic to me. I would like to update my review. I don't think that the food is bad, in fact, it's great but the service here left a sour taste in my mouth. It wasn't like this before but definitely would consider not going here just due to the service. I'm normally used to service not being the best but this one really just made it bad for me. I had asked for a menu so I can order food for takeout and wrote 2 of the siu mai, 1 of some other item and 1 of another item. I wrote my 1 with the line at the bottom, which by the way is a valid way to write a one. One of the ladies who gave out food looked at the menu and even confirmed with me what the quantity of items were and she went away while I went to talk with friends. Then another guy who puts in the orders comes by to ask me if I had ordered it to-go and I responded with "yes, it will be to-go". Then a bit later, the same guy comes back to confirm my order with the ticket printed and he says "so you order 2 of the siu mai, 2 of this item and 2 of this other item?" and obviously, I responded with "No, I didn't, I ordered 2 of this, 1 of this, and 1 of this." The guy then looks at my menu and the number 1 I wrote (with the line at the bottom) and he's like "that's not a 1, that's a 2" and I'm like "I wrote a 1 there" and he really said "sir... Are you serious?". Let me tell you, I NEVER had someone say that to me at a restaurant. I was like "yeah of course I'm serious". Then he storms to the kitchen to let them know. Later while I'm talking to my friends about the situation, the guy comes back and slams the menu onto the table and writes a 1 the way he knows how a 1 is written and says in a condescending tone "This is how you write a one" and then immediately walked off. Had I not been in a rush to run other errands, I would've immediately said something. That left a bitter taste in my mouth and when it came time to tip, I just thought maybe at the very least the restaurant should receive a tip because the food servers weren't bad to me, just that dude. Then all of a sudden, a manager comes back with my bill after me tipping $15 dollars on a $180 bill. He says "you wrote $15? This is less than 15%, less than 10%". And I explained the problem to him alongside help from my friend in cantonese. He seemed to understand the issue and we left with my to-go order. I will never come back to this restaurant after the terrible attitude from staff and deception I experienced. The lightest criticism I have is that the food here is too salty, better watch out for your health. I called the restaurant beforehand to inquire about the cost of reserving a private room, and was told the party needed to order at least $500, which sounded amenable, and as a result, my party placed an order for a whole roasted pig. When my party arrived, there was no reserved room waiting for us, only a table in the open dining room. I asked the staff (a waiter and a captain/manager) and was told varying answers, that the private room actually either costed $800 or $1000 dollars. If this deception wasn't enough to make my blood boil, it was the uncompromising attitude the staff displayed, not even considering for a moment that a discrepancy on their end might have occurred, not even trying to treat the customer with dignity or respect (e.g. "I'm very sorry, but our restaurant policy..."). Part of me thinks that they displayed this abysmal service because they knew we couldn't turn around and walk away, because we paid a deposit on the whole roasted pig. My friends and I had come upbeat and celebratory, but ended up experiencing the worst restaurant service ever; it's no wonder that there aren't many customers dining here. read more

Genuinely one of the absolute worst dimsums I've ever tried. Decent presentation and the servers are nice. BUT the quality of food is atrocious and in major need of a new chef or recipes. To start off the mustard and chili they offer is mustard and siracha... and not even the official brand siracha. This is the first dimsum I've been to with no sambala. Flat out the seasoning is not good. In my case the lobster lo mein, chicken feet, honeycomb tripe, and ha gao were severely under seasoned, as if the only salt they put in was a whisper. While the other dishes were just passable in their seasoning. The flavor of the honeycomb was just cooking wine, with no salt to boot absolutely vile, barely any of the alcohol was cooked out. The server is very nice but the store manager is not friendly and accommodating. We are a group of 22 people. We plan to order at least $800 of food. We actually order $900 of food. My mom suggested this restaurant for dim sum and I always trust her judgment. I was in town and was really craving dim sum. First off, the mustard sauce here is spicy, which I loved! They have the usual items on the menu. Once seated, you're given a paper menu to order from. Also, the tea is $2.99 a table so make sure you pick more than one type of tea for variety and it's unlimited refill. For me, the taro tart was a unique item. Their shumai is better than most places.
