All I can say is I am so glad I bought the Amazon voucher for Bloom Bridal! I have been getting my eyelash extensions done for 6+ years so you can pretty much say I'm an expert at knowing what are quality lashes and quality techniques (I've done everything from cheap $25 extensions to $250 extensions). And Sarah at Bloom does phenomenal work! She is quick but knows how to put them on securely and with absolutely no glue stinging your eyes. Plus she uses mink lashes which are completely weightless. I have not used their other services yet, but Bloom is a great experience overall and you will be extremely happy with your new long lashes! read more

I deleted my former review in hopes that my correction appointment on 10/6 would make me think better of the company. Instead, I am just over it. I reposted my initial experience below this updated review. Kristie called and left me a voicemail to apologize for the misunderstanding and that my lashes will be taken care of. I was hopeful and booked with Yurie for a 30 minutes at 4:00pm. She then mentioned that this correction should take an hour because of the sparseness of my lash extensions, which means I will be booked for another 30 minute appointment today with another technician. Yurie was great, I have no complaints and in fact like her work. I finish at 4:30pm. I am then booked for an additional 30 minutes to complete my FULL set which should have been done during my 120 min appointment yesterday. Kristie runs upstairs to confirm that Natalie will be available at 5:00pm. I wait until 5:00pm for the next appointment with Natalie. She takes me at 5:21pm and asks why I'm there and mentions my lashes are already full. I felt this was passive aggressive. She rushed through my corrective appointment. And by 5:36pm she says she's finished, and prepares for the next client waiting for her. Excuse me? I did not get my hopes up, give this place a second chance, wait patiently, just to get rushed out of there without feeling like I was taken care of properly. For a place that values their mink full set for $260 + tip, I literally cannot believe this entire experience happened and that I was treated by Natalie as if I were a pest to her day. This second experience to correct my extensions would have been pleasant. Instead, it was the cherry on top of "Why the fck did I come here". It's been less than 24 hours. -___- I've gotten eyelash extensions before from another place in Berkeley, CA. They were great. After moving to South Bay, I found Bloom. They have great Instagram posts and reviews, so I chose to go there. Wrong move. I got a full set of mink lashes yesterday with Jessica. This morning literally sitting at my office space, several lashes (7 and counting have fallen off!) I followed all of the care tips (no water on lashes, no rubbing, etc) and yet I have bald spots on my lashes. Bloom has a 7 day policy where if you need a correction they will take care of that for you, free of charge. It disgusts me that all employees are not trained with equal knowledge base of company policy. The receptionist (not Sarah or Kristie, someone who didn't provide their name) who makes appointments does not know this policy for complimentary fixes. She booked me for a $30 mini lash refill and couldn't answer my simple question to confirm whether this will be complimentary since Jessica isn't available today. I literally just want a confirmation of whether they'll honor policy. After I asked, her response was "I really can't confirm that - I just book appointments. If it is company policy then I'm sure the technician will honor that but I can't confirm that for you." Okay, don't you work there o__O I am leaving for a weeklong trip and cannot bear to be seen with sparse, uneven lashes that are supposedly valued at $260 for a "full" set. When my lashes have gaps in it lmfaoo. It's terribly embarrassing to charge high prices and claim quality when your team isn't synced on policy and the quality of your glue is subpar. Now I have to drive 40 minutes in traffic just to fix my lashes that should have been perfect yesterday- while hoping I won't get charged. On the bright side, Jessica is nice and pleasant to receive lash services from. This review is more about the quality of products (glue) and lack of consistency between their own employees about knowledge on their own policies. read more

I feel kind of bad writing an unfavorable review of bloom but the service was just not that great. I normally go to Umbrella and see Tia to get my haircut but wanted to try this place out. I saw Sonya for a haircut and everything was just sub-par. The shampoo, neck massage, cut, and styling, everything. She was a little ruff and even forgot to cut the layers that frame my face. I was not happy. If you are looking to get a good haircut and have a pleasant expierence go see Tia. Bye-bye Bloom. Sarah is fabulous! She helped make my wedding day all the more beautiful! During our make up trial she was so helpful and willing to try several looks. On my wedding day, she was great! My make up (and eyelashes!!) were amazing. It was natural, yet polished, and photographed really well. Sarah also did the make up my Maid of Honor and my mother, and it was absolutely perfect! Update: The owner personally reached out to me to schedule an appointment for that evening. I have chosen another salon closer to home and decided not to return to Bloom. I really appreciate the owner's effort to help me quickly. I went twice in two weeks to get fills with Jessica after over 1/2 of them fell out each time. I've been getting my eyelashes done for over 2 years and was trying Bloom for the first time. Now they don't have any appointments that I can make to fix their mistake until next weekend. I've been coming to Sarah since March 2014 and I'm seriously addicted to their lash extensions! Sarah does a wonderful job every time and is very accommodating (I love that they have evening weekday appointments, too). I have been seeing Phuongmai for almost 5 months and have had multiple fills of my lashes since their initial application in May. I always leave with my lashes looking fresh and looking just as good as the first application. Recently I asked if I could get a little more time for a fill as more had fallen off than usual due to the weather change and Phuongmai recommended I schedule a fill sooner in 1-2 weeks so she could bolster them up. I remember getting my very first set of lash extensions about 7 years ago (not as popular back then) and I absolutely hated it! It was heavy and pointing at every direction even tho I brushed it multiple times a day. So, I decided to give eyelash extensions another chance. I purchased a full set of "Mink" eyelash extensions at Blooms Boutique because of the wonderful reviews. Three days after the application, it reminded me of the reasons why I hated having extensions! The lashes were heavy, stiff and fell off very quickly. I followed the instructions that was given to a T! And I understand that our real lashes fall out daily but...the fake lashes that fell out was not attached to a real lash. After exactly a week, I had to get them redone at another salon. I paid extra to have Bloom's lashes removed and found out that it was not Mink lashes but silk! That's what is most upsetting. I had higher expectations for this place. Gave it 2 stars because the lady that did my lashes had a sweet personality and the salon was nicely decorated. read more

I had my makeup done for my wedding with one of the artists at Bloom. (I can't remember her name, now...but it started with an S...(not Sarah, though.) I loved both the trial and wedding day makeup. Sarah was the one who orchestrated the appointments and she did email and call me to confirm my appointments. My only complaint would be that I thought it was a little pricey. $225 for makeup seems like a lot to me, for 1 hour. But, I was happy with the work, so I'm not going to complain too much. I also got a spray tan with Audra. Although it was a little touch and go with phone tag to get an appointment scheduled, I thought Audra was great. She was very nice and professional. I am very fair skinned, and I thought the tan was a little too dark. Audra was very concerned and wanted me to happy with her service. She went out of her way to make sure I liked it. In the end, I did not get tanned for my wedding, but I am excited to go back and try getting a lighter tan in the future. I thought the spray tan was priced fairly...$55 for 2 tans. read more

My first trial experience was very disappointing. But with only 2 weeks to my wedding, Sarah was able to find me a MUA and a hair stylist with no charge for my second trial. My MUA was Bianca and she was able to work with me with my desired look. My eyes are monolid and she did an awesome cut crease look. Her contouring was phenomenal. When my girlfriend or I was picky about little finishes she perfected them with a smile. She was friendly and professional. Only thing is I had a little teary moments during my wedding and the mascara bled. Im not sure if she used waterproof but that was a bummer. My hair stylist was Heidi and she was just as friendly and nice. She is super fast and was able to efficiently style my short hair with extensions. I had a bulky hair piece that she helped me fasten to my head. However it started to fall off, I wished I had brought more bobby pins. All in all, this is probably the most affordable, accommodating, and cute boutique. Thank you for making me look perfect for my special day. read more

I had Danielle for my first eyelash extension appointment ever! She was AMAZING! She was so gentle, I even fell asleep multiple times! She was so sweet, and I loved talking with her. She took the time to listen to what I wanted, and created a product even better than I could have imagined! The best part about Danielle was her honesty. She was so transparent about what products I would benefit from and which ones I didn't need, I ended up buying more than I would have if she were trying hard to sell me everything. I even had to ask her if I could tip her! Normally people just assume you will tip them. She was AMAZING, and while I went in planning on not getting extensions again (got them for my wedding) I am fairly certain I will go back just so I can have this excellent customer service! read more

I had my eyelash extension done with Amy on early Nov, and today its been 29 days today my lash is still look nice, in fact I think it looks more natural now. This is my first time I did and I'm very very happy with the result. At the begining it's abit bothering as it's long and I was not used to it... but after few days and did abit alteration, it looks more natural and feels normal already!!! A friend of mine heard good things about this place for eyelash extenstions, so when the groupon deal was sent out we bought them right away! And I am super happy we did, because the result was great. Nicole was awesome. We went over the details on what I'm looking for, and what she thinks may be best for me. And during the session, she was so sweet and friendly that I enjoyed chatting with her. She said they have been so busy that they had to end the groupon deal. After a little over an hour, I was surprised by how well the result turned out. Mink is definitely more comfortable than synthetic. And I haven't gotten any irritations for the past few days. I stumbled upon the Groupon deal for mink eyelash extensions at Bloom and decided what better time to try it than the present! Making the appointment online was easy and they gave me a courtesy reminder shortly before my appointment . The customer service was off to a great start! I arrived at the boutique and was greeted by Cheri. Cheri was friendly and did such a phenomenal job at explaining the process before she began applying the extensions. She asked me what "look" I was hoping to achieve and described the process in detail. Cheri was very knowledgeable about the products and explained the differences between mink and synthetic lashes, even inquiring to make sure I was not allergic to animal hair to avoid any irritation. After my lashes were completed, she took the time to explain how to care for them to achieve maximum lasting affect. I walked in with a head full of ideas on what I wanted and asked Sarah what she recommended. She told me she would look at my lashes and do what she could do based on my lashes because we didn't wanna to ruin my real ones. Unfortunately, I have tiny lashes. I must admit, I haven't had anything done here...yet. But I checked the place out for its grand opening at the new location and I was very impressed. Sarah, the owner, has absolutely no attitude, and a smile that never leaves her face. (This is rare for this line of work). Even though I haven't used her, I looked at pictures of her work, and if I need makeup done for an event I would feel completely at ease going to her. It's clear she knows what she's doing. I also talked to Tracy, the facialist (thinking of getting one as a surprise for the husband) and she was extremely nice and helpful. This will probably be the first service I book and when it's done I'll let you know the outcome. But first impressions - both Sarah and Tracy were the consummate professionals. There is no 'snobbery' going on here. What a relief. (Oh yeah, if you've never been here it's absolutely adorable. Loved working with Sara for eyelash extensions and make-up lesson. Decided to try eyelash extensions due to my busy schedule and deep set eyes - they were a kick and looked great - Sara was excellent at connecting by phone, communicating in person and enjoying small talk during the process. I will do them again in the future for special events or vacations. Sara also did a make-up lesson with me on a 2nd appointment. She had great recommendations on colors - she is a MAC expert herself - and I thus purchased all of her suggested colors and have been playing with them at home with great results. I always find it hard to concentrate on colors at the MAC counters or studios...always such a rush of people and time. Bloom is not just for bridal folks although the studio is very cute....I am in my late 40's and found Bloom also from other yelpers recommending Sara and her team. If I could give Sarah a rating based on sheer awesomeness of personality, it would be 10 stars. After my last review, she reached out to me to offer a complementary lash fill since they all fell out pretty quickly. When I finally made it into her boutique, she was extremely friendly and helpful. During the entire process, we talked a lot about her life, her story, and how she worked hard to get to where she is. While I totally admire her for who she is and everything she represents, my lashes still fell out within a week. I was about to chalk it up to the fact that I was doing hot yoga and the heat, humidity and sweat was making them fall out... However, I was able to snag an appointment at my previous lash place and those were able to put up a fight for a month in the constant heat, humidity and sweat of Asia and yoga. Sorry Sarah! I love you as a person, but having the lashes fall out that easily is no bueno when I'm so used to having them last for a month before they start becoming sparse. read more

I came here twice for lash extensions. I was pretty happy with the results, but decided not to continue my lavish spending on the long lashes. For someone who wears glasses everyday, having the long lashed poking at my glasses just was not comfortable. The second time I got extensions and asked them to trim them a bit, which helped but seemed counter intuitive to the results and reasons for getting them. In the end, I just realized it just wasn't for me.... and for my sparse-as-it-is lashes, I just wasn't getting the results I would have liked. So take it from me, and my asian-thin-short-and-sparse lashes, it just wasn't worth it. If you have a lot of lashes to begin with, and want more va-va-voom and length, definitely try this out.... but if you do not have much to begin with, then your results will be good but not great. Also..... having gone in after someone else, and having to lay on the same towel as the person before me, is pretty disgusting. Dusting off all the lashes from the towel and expecting me to lay on it? Gross. What if they have lice!? read more
